1Growth and Repair Potential of Three Species of Bacteria in Reclaimed Wastewater after UV Disinfection显示文摘Objective The growth and repair potential of three typical microorganisms in reclaimed water after UV disinfection was investigated to assess the effects of photo-reactivation and dark repair of microorganisms,and the microbial safety of reclaimed water following this procedure.Methods The growth and repair potential of Escherichia coli,a fecal coliform strain and Bacillus subtilis in the effluent of a biological wastewater treatment plant disinfected by a low-pressure UV lamp were investigated.Results Any increase in bacterial numbers in the effluent after UV disinfection was due to damage repair.Exposure to photo-reactivating light for 8-10 h after UV irradiation with a dose of 5 mJ/cm 2,the highest percentage of photo-reactivation observed for E.coli and the fecal coliform strain was 29% and 15% respectively.B.subtilis showed little photo-reactivation under these conditions.The percentage of photo-reactivation was related to the UV dose and the photo-reactivating time,and a function was developed to forecast the final concentrations of E.coli and the fecal coliform strain after UV disinfection with possible photo-reactivation.Conclusion Different species of bacteria displayed different responses to UV light and different repair potentials.The repair of indigenous bacteria in wastewater needs to be investigated in future work.GUO MeiTing HUANG JingJing HU HongYing LIU WenJun 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4:8
2Screening hydroxyapatite for cadmium and lead immobilization in aqueous solution and contaminated soil:The role of surface area显示文摘Hydroxyapatite(HAP) has been widely used to immobilize many cationic metals in water and soils. The specific reason why an increase in the surface area of HAP enhances cadmium(Cd) uptake, but has no effect on lead(Pb) uptake, is not clear. The aim of this study was to determine the factors causing the differences in sorption behavior between Cd and Pb by evaluating HAPs with different surface areas. We synthesized HAPs with two different surface areas, which were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N_2 adsorption, and scanning electron microscopy, and then evaluated them as sorbents for Cd and Pb removal by testing in single and binary systems. The sorption capacity of large surface area HAP(1.85 mmol/g) for Cd in the single-metal system was higher than that of small surface area HAP(0.64 mmol/g), but there were no differences between single- and binary-metal solutions containing Pb. After the Cd experiments, the HAP retained a stable structure and intact morphology, which promotes the accessibility of reactive sites for Cd. However, a newly formed precipitate covered the surface and blocked the channels in the presence of Pb, which reduced the number of potential adsorption sites on HAP for Cd and Pb.Remediation experiments using Cd- and Pb-contaminated soil produced similar results to the solution tests. 8Effect of Nano-coppers with Different Dimensions on Tribological Properties of Lithium Grease显示文摘As an excellent anti-wear and friction-reducing additive,nano-copper has attracted extensive researches and attention in tribology field.However,the existing researches are still limited to zero-dimensional nano-copper,that is,the effect of copper nanoparticles on the tribological properties of lubricants.In this paper,the effects of nano-coppers with different dimensions(copper nanoparticles,copper nanowires and copper nanoplates)on the anti-wear ability and frictionreducing performance of lithium grease were systematically investigated.And the mechanism of interaction between dimension and tribological properties was explained in detail.It is concluded that the tribological properties of lithium grease can be improved by the addition of nano-coppers due to the formation of the molten copper film and the CuO tribochemical reaction film on the worn surface.And the dimension of nano-copper has a great influence on its tribological property.The copper nanoparticles can play the role of nano-bearing to change the friction form from sliding friction to rolling friction,which would decrease the wear loss of friction pairs.The wear loss can be sharply decreased by addition of copper nanoplates with micron-scale diameter and lamellar structure which significantly prevents the direct contact of micro-protrusions on the surface of friction pairs and reduces the“welding”between micro-protrusions due to local high temperature caused by friction.Wang Jing Guo Xiaochuan Mi Hongying Zhou Weigui Yang Xin 2020China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2020,22,1:1

10Facile synthesis,high fluorescence and flame retardancy of carbon dots显示文摘Facile strategy enabling the fabrication of carbon dots(CDs)with favorable performance useful for various applications is highly desirable.Here,we report the fabrication of highly fluorescent carbon dots(CDs)towards sensitive metal ion detection,brightly fluorescent printing pattern,as well as green flame retardants for synthetic polymeric materials.CDs are synthesized by solvothermal treatment of polypropylene carbonate(PPC)with ethylenediamine,and the quantum yield of CDs could increase from 30%to 86%by further adding trace of citric acid.The abundant functional groups on the surface of CDs allow CDs well incorporated into polymers to form CD-loaded polystyrene(PS)microspheres,which are employed to construct fluorescent supraballs via triphase microfluidic technique and used as“inks”for uniform fluorescent patterns.Interestingly,the resultant CDs show good flame retardancy for highly flammable polymeric foams and fibers.The CDs surpass previously reported flame-retardant additives,to show excellent combustion resistance that the addition of 20 wt%CDs causes 75%decrease in the peak of heat release rate(P-HRR)for polyurethane(PU)foams.Significantly,a molecular dynamics simulation process for PU/CDs combustion is constructed.This work may spur the preparation and application of highperformance carbon-based nanomaterials.Chang Liu Hongying Li Rui Cheng Jiazhuang Guo Guo-Xing Li Qing Li Cai-Feng Wang Xiaoning Yang Su Chen 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,9:1

20Study on Reproductive Growth Characteristics and Seed Germination of Eucalyptus dunnii in Sichuan Province显示文摘Studying the flowering development and seed germination of Eucalyptu dunnii and mastering the reproductive growth law can provide a theoretical basis for seed garden construction. In this study,a blooming plant growing in Zitong County was selected as the experiment subject. The results were as follows: florescence date of Eucalyptus dunnii was Mid-late February to mid to late October. Depending on morphologic change,flowering can be divided into 6 phases: Flower bud differentiation stage,inflorescence formation stage,opercle color change stage,capsule enlargement and shedding ring formation stage,flowering period,seed development stage. The development process of the buds on the same inflorescence was basically the same,the growth of buds near the base of the same branch was faster than that of the top buds,and the development of flower buds in different positions was random. There were 3-4 ovary cavities in a capsule.
