| 1 | Histological Subtypes of Lung Cancer in Chinese Males from 2000 to 2012显示文摘Objective To characterize the histological and epidemiological features of male lung cancer patients in China. Methods The demographic and histological information about male lung cancer patients identified from 2000-01-01 to 2012-12-31,was collected from the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Relative frequencies(RF) were estimated for major histological subtypes and compared according to the years of diagnosis and birth. Results The RF of adenocarcinoma(ADC) increased from 21.96% to 43.36% and the RF of squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) decreased from 39.11% to 32.23% from 2000 to 2012 in the 15 427 male lung cancer patients included in this study(Z=17.909,P<0.0001; Z=-6.117,P<0.0001). The RF of ADC increased from 28.72% in 2000-2004,36.88% in 2005-2008 to 48.61% in 2009-2012 in patients born after 1960. The age-adjusted RF of ADC in 2007-2012 increased consistently in all the investigated areas. Conclusion The increased RF of ADC in male lung cancer patients highlights the need for further investigation of the etiologic factors of these tumors. | 4 | Preparation and Characterization of Flame Retardant and Low Smoke Releasing Oil-resistant EVA/NBR Blends显示文摘Nano-Si O2 and/or Mo O3 were introduced to ethylene-vinyl acetate/nitrile butadiene rubber(EVA/NBR) blends containing magnesium hydroxide(MH) and red phosphorus(RP) to further improve the mechanical properties, oil resistance, smoke suppression and flame retardancy. The results indicated that the tensile strength and oil resistance were significantly improved by incorporating nano-Si O2. Smoke suppression tests for EVA/NBR blend samples showed that both nano-Si O2 and Mo O3 can significantly reduce smoke release amount. The flammability characterization indicated that the blended sample with an LOI value of 33.0 could achieve V-0 level in the UL-94 test. Cone calorimetry test data showed the peak heat release rate was 67% lower than that for pure EVA/NBR. Thermal analysis showed that the presence of both nano-Si O2 and Mo O3 was beneficial to promoting char formation of the EVA/NBR blends. | 6 | Transcriptomic analyses identify albino-associated genes of a novel albino tea germplasm ‘Huabai 1’显示文摘Albinism in shoots of tea plants is a common phenotypic expression which gives the tea infusion a pleasant umami taste.A novel natural albino mutant tea germplasm containing high amino acids content was found and named as‘Huabai 1’.‘Huabai 1’has white jade tender shoots under low temperature and turns green with increased temperature.In order to understand the molecular mechanism of color change in leaf of‘Huabai 1’,transcriptome analysis was performed to identify albino-associated differentially expressed genes(DEGs).A total of 483 DEGs were identified from white shoots of‘Huabai 1’compared to its green shoots.There were 15 DEGs identified to be involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis,which account for the majority of characterized DEGs.The metabolites related to phenylpropanoid biosynthesis revealed similar expression pattern of DEGs.Furthermore,metabolic pathways such as ubiquonone,tyrosine,and flavonoid biosynthesis associated with phenylpropanoid biosynthesis could also contribute to the color change in‘Huabai 1’tender shoots.Protein–protein interaction analysis revealed a hub protein NEDD8(CSA009575)which interacted with many regulated genes in spliceosome,nitrogen metabolism,phenylpropanoid biosynthesis,and other pathways.In conclusion,the findings in this study indicate that the color change of‘Huabai 1’tender shoots is a combined effect of phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway and other metabolic pathways including flavonoid biosynthesis in tea plants.Chlorophyll biosynthesis-related genes LHCII and SGR may also play some roles in color change of‘Huabai 1’. | Qingping Ma Huan Li Zhongwei Zou Emmanuel Arkorful Qianru Lv Qiongqiong Zhou Xuan Chen Kang Sun Xinghui Li | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 7 |

| 8 | Clinical features of ankylosing spondylitis associated with acute anterior uveitis in Chinese patients显示文摘AIM: To characterize the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of uveitis associated with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in Chinese patients. · METHODS: Two hundred and three patients with uveitis associated with AS followed-up in the Third Military Medical University Daping Hospital between 2005 and 2010 were retrospectively evaluated in this study. Complete ophthalmological examinations were evaluated at baseline and during the follow-up period. The gender, age, follow-up time, mean frequency of uveitis onset, and accompanying eye examination findings, history, demographical parameters were reviewed. All the patients presented complete clinical and radiologic (sacroiliac, lumbar, dorsal and cervical spine, knee, ankle, shoulder, hip, elbow) evaluation. HLA-B27 typing was also searched. · RESULTS: There were 203 patients diagnosed with AS associated uveitis. All showed sacroiliac X-ray changes indicative of AS. There were 184 male and 19 female patients. The average age of patients was 35±12 (range 18-50). Mean follow-up period was 2.4 years (1-5 years). Acute anterior uveitis was the most common type of uveitis in both genders. 121 eyes presented unilateral involvement (55.2%), and 92 eyes presented bilateral involvement (45.3%) with onset alternately. 22 eyes occurred hypopyon, 16 eyes were found anterior vitreous cells, 7 eyes were noted reactive macular edema or exudation, 29 eyes presented posterior synechiae of iris, and 14 eyes presented cataract, 9 eyes presented secondary glaucoma, 2 eyes presented bend corneal degeneration and 1 eyes presented atrophy of eyeball. At the final visit, uveitis was well controlled in most patients. · CONCLUSION: AS associated with uveitis in Chinese patients mainly manifests as acute anterior uveitis. A combination of corticosteroids with other mydriasis agents is effective for most AS associated with uveitis patients. | 10 | A multicenter prospective study of next-generation sequencing-based newborn screening for monogenic genetic diseases in China显示文摘Background Newborn screening(NBS)is an important and successful public health program that helps improve the long-term clinical outcomes of newborns by providing early diagnosis and treatment of certain inborn diseases.The develop-ment of next-generation sequencing(NGS)technology provides new opportunities to expand current newborn screening methodologies.Methods We designed a a newborn genetic screening(NBGS)panel targeting 135 genes associated with 75 inborn disorders by multiplex PCR combined with NGS.With this panel,a large-scale,multicenter,prospective multidisease analysis was conducted on dried blood spot(DBS)profiles from 21,442 neonates nationwide.Results We presented the positive detection rate and carrier frequency of diseases and related variants in different regions;and 168(0.78%)positive cases were detected.Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency(G6PDD)and phenylketonuria(PKU)had higher prevalence rates,which were significantly different in different regions.The positive detection of G6PD variants was quite common in south China,whereas PAH variants were most commonly identified in north China.In addi-tion,NBGS identified 3 cases with DUOX2 variants and one with SLC25A13 variants,which were normal in conventional NBS,but were confirmed later as abnormal in repeated biochemical testing after recall.Eighty percent of high-frequency gene carriers and 60%of high-frequency variant carriers had obvious regional differences.On the premise that there was no significant difference in birth weight and gestational age,the biochemical indicators of SLC22A5 c.1400C>G and ACADSB c.1165A>G carriers were significantly different from those of non-carriers.Conclusions We demonstrated that NBGS is an effective strategy to identify neonates affected with treatable diseases as a supplement to current NBS methods.Our data also showed that the prevalence of diseases has significant regional charac-teristics,which provides a theoretical basis for screening diseases in different regions. | Ru-Lai Yang Gu-Ling Qian Ding-Wen Wu Jing-Kun Miao Xue Yang Ben-Qing Wu Ya-Qiong Yan Hai-Bo Li Xin-Mei Mao Jun He Huan Shen Hui Zou Shu-Yuan Xue Xiao-Ze Li Ting-Ting Niu Rui Xiao Zheng-Yan Zhao | 2023 | World Journal of Pediatrics2023,19,7: | 4 |
| 11 | Fluorination-substitution effect on all-small-molecule organic solar cells显示文摘Due to the strong crystallinity and anisotropy of small molecules, matched molecular photoelectric properties and morphologies between small molecules and non-fullerene acceptors are especially important in all-small-molecule organic solar cells(OSCs).Introducing fluorine atoms has been proved as an effective strategy to achieve a high device performance through tuning molecular energy levels, absorption and assembly properties. Herein, we designed a novel benzodithiophene-based small molecule donor BDTF-CA with deep highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO) energy level. All-small-molecule OSCs were fabricated by combing non-fullerene acceptor IDIC with different fluorine-atom numbers. Two or four fluorine atoms were introduced to the end-capped acceptor of IDIC, which are named as IDIC-2 F and IDIC-4 F, respectively. With the increase of fluorination from IDIC to IDIC-4 F, the open circuit voltage(Voc) of the devices decreased, while hole and electron mobilities of the active layers increased by one order of magnitude. | 13 | The Xanthomonas typeⅢeffector Xop AP prevents stomatal closure by interfering with vacuolar acidification显示文摘Plant stomata close rapidly in response to a rise in the plant hormone abscisic acid(ABA)or salicylic acid(SA)and after recognition of pathogenassociated molecular patterns(PAMPs).Stomatal closure is the result of vacuolar convolution,ion efflux,and changes in turgor pressure in guard cells.Phytopathogenic bacteria secrete typeⅢeffectors(T3Es)that interfere with plant defense mechanisms,causing severe plant disease symptoms.Here,we show that the virulence and infection of Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzicola(Xoc),which is the causal agent of rice bacterial leaf streak disease,drastically increased in transgenic rice(Oryza sativa L.)plants overexpressing the Xoc T3E gene Xop AP,which encodes a protein annotated as a lipase.We discovered that Xop AP binds to phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate(Ptd Ins(3,5)P_(2)),a memb rane phospholipid that functions in p H control in lysosomes,membrane dynamics,and protein trafficking.Xop AP inhibited the acidification of vacuoles by competing with vacuolar H^(+)-pyrophosphatase(V-PPase)for binding to Ptd Ins(3,5)P_(2),leading to stomatal opening.Transgenic rice overexpressing Xop AP also showed inhibition of stomatal closure when challenged by Xoc infection and treatment with the PAMP flg22.Moreover,Xop AP suppressed flg22-induced gene expression,reactive oxygen species burst and callose deposition in host plants,demonstrating that Xop AP subverts PAMP-triggered immunity during Xoc infection.Taken together,these findings demonstrate that Xop AP overcomes stomatal immunity in plants by binding to lipids. | Longyu Liu Ying Li Zhengyin Xu Huan Chen Jingyi Zhang Brittany Manion Fengquan Liu Lifang Zou Zheng Qing Fu Gongyou Chen | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10: | 3 |
| 14 | A-π-D-π-A small-molecule donors with different end alkyl chains obtain different morphologies in organic solar cells显示文摘For bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells, the morphology of the blend films highly influence the exciton dissociation and charge transport process. In this work, two novel A-π-D-π-A(A represents the acceptor unit and D represents the donor unit) backbone structure small molecular electron donors based on two dimensional conjugated naphtho[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene(NDT) with different end alkyl chains, named as NDT-3T-EH and NDT-3T-O, have been designed and synthesized. The photovoltaic property of NDT-3T-O-based device is better than that of the NDT-3T-EH and the best efficiency reaches 7.06%, and the photovoltaic property of NDT-3T-EH reaches 6.11%. The difference in the performance should be attributed to the different morphology and phase separation resulted from the different crystallinity and aggregation ability of two donors. | 15 | Estimation of Sediment Incipient Velocity Using B-Mode Ultrasound Imaging Technique显示文摘Sediment incipient velocity(SIV) is a vital parameter for sediment research and river dynamics. This paper describes a novel method of estimating SIV based on the known flow velocity in the movable-bed model experiment. In this method, we use B-mode ultrasound imaging technique to get video images of moving particles and topography under water. By statistical analysis of video images, the relationship between the average number of imaging particles and flow velocity is obtained. The relationship between the change rate of average number and flow velocity is analyzed in sediment incipient process. These relationships are used to estimate the SIV. Lastly, the changed topography verifies the estimated velocity. The results show there is a sudden change in these relationships which can be used to estimate the SIV with high resolution by using a B-mode ultrasound device. | 16 | Factors involved in the success of Castanea henryi stem cuttings in different cutting mediums and cutting selection periods显示文摘Chinquapin(Castanea henryi) is a dual-purpose tree species in China valued for as a source of timber and starch.We investigated the effect of four cutting mediums(pure vermiculite;peat:river sand at 3:1 v/v;peat:krasnozem at 1:1 v/v;and pure krasnozem) and three stem cutting periods(March,May,and July) on rooting performance of C.henryi cuttings.Different cutting periods and cutting mediums greatly influenced the rooting rate of C.henryi,ranging from 3.35 to 77.31%.Principal component analysis indicated that the best combination of cutting period and cutting medium was semi-hardwood cuttings(May cuttings)+krasnozem.Histological evidence indicated that adventitious root initials were present by week 5-6,and that the site of root primordia initiation was observed in the vascular cambium.Stem anatomical structures observed at different periods indicated that a xylem/radius ratio of29.90-37.42% and a fractured phloem fiber ring are indicative of rooting success.The relational model between rooting index and medium properties indicated that nutrient content and porosity significantly influenced callus production.However,pH strongly affected C.henryi root formation,with the Pearson correlation coefficients for May and July cuttings of-0.856 and-0.947,respectively.Our protocol is helpful to achieve mass clone propagation of improved C.henryi genotypes,thus overcoming a common hurdle in chinquapin breeding programs. | Wangzun Chen Libing He Shiyi Tian Joseph Masabni Huan Xiong Feng Zou Deyi Yuan | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,4: | 2 |

However, such a structure as well as conventional spin-coating method obviously restrict their industrial application. In this article, we report the deposition of silver nanowires(Ag NWs) on the flexible substrate by slot-die printing. The obtained Ag NWs films exhibited a high transmittance and a low resistance, and were further used as the transparent conductive electrode of OSCs. A typical conjugated polymer, poly[(2,5-bis(2-hexyldecyloxy)phenylene)-alt-(5,6-difluoro-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c] [1,2,5]thiadiazole)](PPDT2FBT), was used as the active material to fabricate large-area(7 cm^2) solar cells by a slot-die coating process. The power conversion efficiency(PCE) could reach 1.87% initially and further increased to 3.04% by thermal annealing.
