| 1 | Improved algorithm of light scattering by a coated sphere显示文摘An efficient numerical algorithm for computing the light scattering by a coated sphere is proposed. The calculation of relevant functions by different recurrence algorithms is discussed. The new algorithm avoids the numerical difficulties, which give rise to significant errors encountered in practice by prior methods. Exemplifying results such as extinction efficiency, scattering efficiency, light scattering intensity as well as calculation speed are provided. | 9 | Plant G proteins interact with endoplasmic reticulum luminal protein receptors to regulate endoplasmic reticulum retrieval显示文摘Maintaining endoplasmic reticulum(ER) homeostasis is essential for the production of biomolecules.ER retrieval, i.e., the retrograde transport of compounds from the Golgi to the ER, is one of the pathways that ensures ER homeostasis. However, the mechanisms underlying the regulation of ER retrieval in plants remain largely unknown. Plant ERD2-like proteins(ERD2 s) were recently suggested to function as ER luminal protein receptors that mediate ER retrieval. Here, we demonstrate that heterotrimeric G protein signaling is involved in ERD2-mediated ER retrieval. We show that ERD2 s interact with the heterotrimeric G protein Ga and Ggsubunits at the Golgi. Silencing of Ga, Gb, or Gg increased the retention of ER luminal proteins. Furthermore,overexpression of Ga, Gb, or Gg caused ER luminal proteins to escape from the ER, as did the co-silencing of ERD2 a and ERD2 b. | 18 | Layout Optimization for Greenhouse WSN Based on Path Loss Analysis显示文摘When wireless sensor networks (WSN) are deployed in the vegetablegreenhouse with dynamic connectivity and interference environment, it is necessary to increase the node transmit power to ensure the communication quality,which leads to serious network interference. To offset the negative impact, thetransmit power of other nodes must also be increased. The result is that the network becomes worse and worse, and node energy is wasted a lot. Taking intoaccount the irregular connection range in the cucumber greenhouse WSN, wemeasured the transmission characteristics of wireless signals under the 2.4 Ghzoperating frequency. For improving network layout in the greenhouse, a semiempirical prediction model of signal loss is then studied based on the measureddata. Compared with other models, the average relative error of this semi-empiricalsignal loss model is only 2.3%. Finally, by combining the improved networktopology algorithm and tabu search, this paper studies a greenhouse WSN layoutthat can reduce path loss, save energy, and ensure communication quality. Giventhe limitation of node-degree constraint in traditional network layout algorithms,the improved algorithm applies the forwarding constraint to balance network energyconsumption and constructs asymmetric network communication links. | 19 | Evidence of aircraft activity impact on local air quality: A study in the context of uncommon airport operation显示文摘Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (WUH) was suspended to contain the spread of COVID-19,while Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) saw a tremendousflight reduction.Closure of a major international airport is extremely rare and thus represents a unique opportunity to straightforwardly observe the impact of airport emissions on local air quality.In this study,a series of statistical tools were applied to analyze the variations in air pollutant levels in the vicinity of WUH and SHA.The results of bivariate polar plots show that airport SHA and WUH are a major source of nitrogen oxides.NOx,NO_(2)and NO diminished by 55.8%,44.1%,76.9%,and 40.4%,33.3% and 59.4% during the COVID-19 lockdown compared to those in the same period of 2018 and 2019,under a reduction in aircraft activities by 58.6%and61.4%.The concentration of NO_(2),SO_(2)and PM_(2.5)decreased by 77.3%,8.2%,29.5%,right after the closure of airport WUH on 23 January 2020.The average concentrations of NO,NO_(2)and NOxscatter plots at downwind of SHA after the lockdown were 78.0%,47.9%,57.4%and 62.3%,34.8%,41.8%lower than those during the same period in 2018 and 2019.However,a significant increase in O_(3)levels by 50.0% and 25.9%at WUH and SHA was observed,respectively.These results evidently show decreased nitrogen oxides concentrations in the airport vicinity due to reduced aircraft activities,while amplified O_(3)pollution due to a lower titration by NO under strong reduction in NOxemissions. | Hao Xu Kai Xiao Jun Pan Qingyan Fu Xiaodong Wei Junrui Zhou Yamei Yu Xue Hu Huarui Ren Jinping Cheng Shitao Peng Ningning Hong Yin Ye Ning Su Zehui He Tao Hu | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3: | 0 |
| 20 | Efficient thermal dissipation in wafer-scale heterogeneous integration of single-crystalline��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)thin film on SiC显示文摘The semiconductor,β-Ga_(2)O_(3)is attractive for applications in high power electronic devices with low conduction loss due to its ultra-wide bandgap(∼4.9 eV)and large Baliga’s figure of merit.However,the thermal conductivity of��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)is much lower than that of other wide/ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors,such as SiC and GaN,which results in the deterioration of��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)-based device performance and reliability due to self-heating.To overcome this problem,a scalable thermal management strategy was proposed by heterogeneously integrating wafer-scale single-crystalline��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)thin films on a highly thermally conductive SiC substrate.Characterization of the transferred��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)thin film indicated a uniform thickness to within±2.01%,a smooth surface with a roughness of 0.2 nm,and good crystalline quality with an X-ray rocking curves(XRC)full width at half maximum of 80 arcsec.Transient thermoreflectance measurements were employed to investigate the thermal properties.The thermal performance of the fabricated��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)/SiC heterostructure was effectively improved in comparison with that of the��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)bulk wafer,and the effective thermal boundary resistance could be further reduced to 7.5 m 2 K/GW by a post-annealing process.Schottky barrier diodes(SBDs)were fabricated on both a��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)/SiC heterostructured material and a��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)bulk wafer.Infrared thermal imaging revealed the temperature increase of the SBDs on��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)/SiC to be one quarter that on the��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)bulk wafer with the same applied power,which suggests that the combination of the��-Ga_(2)O_(3)thin film and SiC substrate with high thermal conductivity promotes heat dissipation in��β-Ga_(2)O_(3)-based devices. | Wenhui Xu Tiangui You Yibo Wang Zhenghao Shen Kang Liu Lianghui Zhang Huarui Sun Ruijie Qian Zhenghua An Fengwen Mu Tadatomo Suga Genquan Han Xin Ou Yue Hao Xi Wang | 2021 | Fundamental Research2021,1,6: | 0 |
