| 3 | PV Maximum Power-point Tracking Using Modified Particle Swarm Optimization under Partial Shading Conditions显示文摘A novel maximum power-point tracking approach is proposed based on studies investigating the output characteristics of photovoltaic(PV)systems under partial shading conditions.The existence of partially shaded conditions leads to the presence of several peaks on PV curves,which decrease the efficiency of conventional techniques.Hence,the proposed algorithm,which is based on the modified particle-swarm optimization(MPSO)technique,increases the output power of PV systems under such abnormal conditions and has a better performance compared to other methods.The proposed method is examined under several scenarios for partial shading condition and non-uniform irradiation levels using Matlab,and to investigate its effectiveness adequately,the results of the proposed method are compared with those of the neural network technique.The experimental results show that the proposed method can decrease the interference of the local maximum power-point to cause the PV system to operate at a global maximum power-point.The efficiency of the MPSO is achieved with the least number of steady-state oscillations under partial shading conditions compared with the neural network method. | Al-wesabi Ibrahim M.B.Shafik Min Ding Mohammad Abu Sarhan Zhijian Fang Ahmed.G.Alareqi Tariq Al’moqri Ayman.M.Al-Rassas | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2020,6,4: | 4 |

| 9 | Microwave sintering effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti–51at%Ni shape memory alloys显示文摘Ti–51at%Ni shape memory alloys(SMAs) were successfully produced via a powder metallurgy and microwave sintering technique.The influence of sintering parameters on porosity reduction,microstructure,phase transformation temperatures,and mechanical properties were investigated by optical microscopy,field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),compression tests,and microhardness tests.Varying the microwave temperature and holding time was found to strongly affect the density of porosity,presence of precipitates,transformation temperatures,and mechanical properties.The lowest density and smallest pore size were observed in the Ti–51at%Ni samples sintered at 900°C for 5 min or at 900°C for 30 min.The predominant martensite phases of β2 and β19′ were observed in the microstructure of Ti–51at%Ni,and their existence varied in accordance with the sintering temperature and the holding time.In the DSC thermograms,multi-transformation peaks were observed during heating,whereas a single peak was observed during cooling;these peaks correspond to the presence of the β2,R,and β19′ phases.The maximum strength and strain among the Ti–51at%Ni SMAs were 1376 MPa and 29%,respectively,for the sample sintered at 900°C for 30 min because of this sample's minimal porosity. | Mustafa K. | 20 | Co-combustion of RDF and biomass mixture with bituminous coal:a case study of clinker production plant in Egypt显示文摘Cement clinker production in Egypt till 2013 relied mainly on fossil fuel as a primary energy source.However,with multiple fossil fuel shortages,the utilization of biomass wastes was initiated by multiple cement producers.In the current work,and to present an industrial-scale biomass and coal co-combustion study,the utilization of multiple biomass fuels to substitute a portion of bituminous coal was studied in an Egyptian clinker production plant.Mixtures of biomass fuels were used to reduce the consumption of bituminous coal and to investigate the diminishing of the environmental impact of the clinker production process.The current study was conducted during 8 days of the stable clinker production process by replacing 14%of bituminous coal with biomass mixtures while monitoring the major process control parameters and resulting emissions.Emission results were compared to the nation’s regulations.A conclusion can be made that using biomass mixtures as alternative fuels minimized the dependency on coal as the main fuel and reduced the CO_(2)burden of the cement produc-tion process.In addition,NO_(x)and SO_(2)emissions were declined while CO emissions were increased by utilizing biomass mixtures as alternative fuels;all emissions,however,were below the allowable limits stated by the Egyptian environmental authority.Noticeably,the heavy elements,dioxins,and furans were not changed significantly compared to those produced using coal only. | Osayed Sayed Mohamed Abu‑Elyazeed Mohamed Nofal Khalaf Ibrahim Junfeng Yang | 2021 | Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2021,3,4: | 0 |
