3Metabolic inflammation as an instigator of fibrosis during nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is characterized by excessive storage of fatty acids in the form of triglycerides in hepatocytes.It is most prevalent in western countries and includes a wide range of clinical and histopathological findings,namely from simple steatosis to steatohepatitis and fibrosis,which may lead to cirrhosis and hepatocellular cancer.The key event for the transition from steatosis to fibrosis is the activation of quiescent hepatic stellate cells(qHSC)and their differentiation to myofibroblasts.Pattern recognition receptors(PRRs),expressed by a plethora of immune cells,serve as essential components of the innate immune system whose function is to stimulate phagocytosis and mediate inflammation upon binding to them of various molecules released from damaged,apoptotic and necrotic cells.The activation of PRRs on hepatocytes,Kupffer cells,the resident macrophages of the liver,and other immune cells results in the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines,as well as profibrotic factors in the liver microenvironment leading to qHSC activation and subsequent fibrogenesis.Thus,elucidation of the inflammatory pathways associated with the pathogenesis and progression of NAFLD may lead to a better understanding of its pathophysiology and new therapeutic approaches.Angeliki Katsarou Ioannis I Moustakas Iryna Pyrina Panagiotis Lembessis Michael Koutsilieris Antonios Chatzigeorgiou 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,17:9

5Electrochemical top-down synthesis of C-supported Pt nanoparticles with controllable shape and size:Mechanistic insights and application显示文摘In this work,we demonstrate the power of a simple top-down electrochemical erosion approach to obtain Pt nanoparticle with controlled shapes and sizes(in the range from-2 to-10 nm).Carbon supported nanoparticles with narrow size distributions have been synthesized by applying an alternating voltage to macroscopic bulk platinum structures,such as disks or wires.Without using any surfactants,the size and shape of the particles can be changed by adjusting simple parameters such as the applied potential,frequency and electrolyte composition.For instance,application of a sinusoidal AC voltage with lower frequencies results in cubic nanoparticles;whereas higher frequencies lead to predominantly spherical nanoparticles.On the other hand,the amplitude of the,sinusoidal signal was found to affect the particle size;the lower the amplitude of the applied AC signal,the smaller the resulting particle size.Pt/C catalysts prepared by this approach showed 0.76 A/mg mass activity towards the oxygen reduction reaction which is-2 times higher than the state-of-the-art commercial Pt/C catalyst(0.42 A/mg)from Tanaka.In addition to this,we discussed the mechanistic insights about the nanoparticle formation pathways.Batyr Garlyyev Sebastian Watzele Johannes Fichtner Jan Michalicka Alexander Schokel Anatoliy Senyshyn Andrea Perego Dingjie Pan Hany A.El-Sayed Jan M.Macak Plamen Atanassov Iryna V.Zenyuk Aliaksandr S.Bandarenka 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:2

7Glutathione-S-transferases genes-promising predictors of hepatic dysfunction显示文摘diseases pathogenesis are genes that encodes the synthesis of glutathione-Stransferase(GST),known as the second phase enzyme detoxification system that protects against endogenous oxidative stress and exogenous toxins,through catalisation of glutathione sulfuric groups conjugation and decontamination of lipid and deoxyribonucleic acid oxidation products.The group of GST enzymes consists of cytosolic,mitochondrial and microsomal fractions.Recently,eight classes of soluble cytoplasmic isoforms of GST enzymes are widely known:α-,ζ-,θ-,κ-,μ-,π-,σ-,andω-.The GSTs gene family in the Human Gene Nomenclature Committee,online database recorded over 20 functional genes.The level of GSTs expression is considered to be a crucial factor in determining the sensitivity of cells to a broad spectrum of toxins.Nevertheless,human GSTs genes have multiple and frequent polymorphisms that include the complete absence of the GSTM1 or the GSTT1 gene.Current review supports the position that genetic polymorphism of GST genes is involved in the pathogenesis of various liver diseases,particularly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,hepatitis and liver cirrhosis of different etiology and hepatocellular carcinoma.Certain GST allelic variants were proven to be associated with susceptibility to hepatological pathology,and correlations with the natural course of the diseases were subsequently postulated.Vasyl Prysyazhnyuk Larysa Sydorchuk Ruslan Sydorchuk Iryna Prysiazhniuk Kateryna Bobkovych Inna Buzdugan Valentina Dzuryak Petro Prysyazhnyuk 2021World Journal of Hepatology2021,13,6:2

11DFT Study of Physisorption Effect of the Curcumin on CNT(8,0-6) Nanotube for Biological Applications显示文摘In the given work the adsorption properties of molecule curcumin((1 E,6 E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione) on CNT(8,0-6) nanotube were investigated by the density functional theory(DFT) in the solvent water for the first time. The non-bonded interaction effects of compounds curcumin and CNT(8,0-6) nanotube on the electronic properties, UV/Vis spectra, chemical shift tensors and natural charges were determined and discussed.
