2Controlled TiO2 coating on hollow glass microspheres and their reflective thermal insulation properties显示文摘Hollow glass microspheres(HGMs)have great potential in building energy-saving and industrial insulation.Anatase TiO2-modified HGMs were prepared by a sol-gel method in acetic acid-ethanol solution.Scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,zeta-potential measurements,nitrogen-sorption measurements,and Fourier-transform infrared and ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopies showed that the alkali modification of the HGMs greatly influenced the loading and microstructure of the TiO2 film.The TiO2 loading could be accurately controlled by ethanol addition and the TiO2 coating time.A mechanism for the TiO2 coating of the HGM surface is proposed.The synergistic action of hydrogen bonding and electrostatic forces resulted in close contact between the HGMs and TiO2 sol at pH 3.5.The effects of different TiO2 loading rates on the reflective and thermal insulation properties were studied.The near-infrared reflectance of 15.9%TiO2 coated on HGMs was 96.27%,and the inner surface temperature of the composite pigment coated on aluminum board was reduced by 22.4℃.The TiO2/HGM composite pigments exhibited excellent solar reflective and thermal insulation properties,so have potential in the construction of exterior walls and roofs.Jie Long Chongwen Jiang Jundong Zhu Quzhi Song Jiang Hu 2020Particuology2020,18,2:10
3The Late Pleistocene activity of the eastern part of east Kunlun fault zone and its tectonic significance显示文摘The nearly EW-trending East Kunlun fault zone is the north boundary of the Bayan Har block.The activity characteristics and the position of the eastern end of its eastward extension are of great significance to probing into the dynamic mechanism of formation of the east edge of the Tibetan Plateau,and also lay the foundation for seismic risk assessment of the fault zone.The following results are obtained by analysis based on satellite image interpretation of landforms,surface rupture survey,terrace scarp deformation survey,and terrace dating data on the eastern part of the East Kunlun fault zone:(1)the Luocha segment is a Holocene active fault,where a reverse L-shape paleoearthquake surface rupture zone of about 50 km long is located;(2)the Luocha segment is characterized by left-lateral slip movement under the compression-shear condition since the later period of the Late Pleistocene,with a rate of 7.68–9.37 mm/a and a vertical slip rate of 0.7–0.9 mm/a,which are basically in accord with the activity rate of segments on its west side.The results indicate that it is a part of eastward extension of the East Kunlun fault zone;(3)the high-speed linear horizontal slip of the nearly EW-trending East Kunlun fault zone is blocked by the South China block at east,and transforms into the vertical movement of the nearly SN-NNE trending Minjiang fault zone and the Longmenshan fault zone,and the uplift of Longmenshan and Minjiang.The area where transform of the two tectonic systems occurred confines the position of the east end;(4)Luocha segment and Maqu segment constitute the'Maqu seismic gap',so,seismic risk at Maqu segment is higher than that at Luocha segment,which should attract more attention.ZHANG JunLong REN JinWei CHEN ChangYun FU JunDong YANG PanXin XIONG RenWei HU ChaoZhong 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,3:8
4Allele-aware chromosome-scale assembly of the allopolyploid genome of hexaploid Ma bamboo(Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro)显示文摘Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro is a woody clumping bamboo with rapid shoot growth.Both genetic transformation and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)gene editing techniques are available for D.latiflorus,enabling reverse genetic approaches.Thus,D.latiflorus has the potential to be a model bamboo species.However,the genome sequence of D.latiflorus has remained unreported due to its polyploidy and large genome size.Here,we sequenced the D.latiflorus genome and assembled it into three allele-aware subgenomes(AABBCC),representingthe largest genome of a major bamboo species.We assembled 70 allelic chromosomes(2,737 Mb)for hexaploid D.latiflorus using both singlemolecule sequencing from the Pacific Biosciences(Pac Bio)Sequel platform and chromosome conformation capture sequencing(Hi-C).Repetitive sequences comprised 52.65%of the D.latiflorus genome.We annotated 135231 protein-coding genes in the genome based on transcriptomes from eight different tissues.Transcriptome sequencing using RNA-Seq and Pac Bio singlemolecule real-time long-read isoform sequencing revealed highly differential alternative splicing(AS)between non-abortive and abortive shoots,suggesting that AS regulates the abortion rate of bamboo shoots.This high-quality hexaploid genome and comprehensive strand-specific transcriptome datasets for this Poaceae family member will pave the way for bamboo research using D.latiflorus as a model species.Yushan Zheng Deming Yang Jundong Rong Liguang Chen Qiang Zhu Tianyou He Lingyan Chen Jing Ye Lili Fan Yubang Gao Hangxiao Zhang Lianfeng Gu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,3:6

6Decrease in the Ki67 index during neoadjuvant chemotherapy predicts favorable relapse-free survival in patients with locally advanced breast cancer显示文摘Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the optimal cutoffs of the three parameters of Ki67 during NAC for predicting patient prognosis and investigate whether the optimal cutoffs of the Ki67 values were associated with relapse-free survival(RFS) or breast cancer-specific survival(BCSS).Methods: A total of 92 patients with locally advanced breast cancer(LABC), who had residual disease after NAC were retrospectively investigated.The optimal cutoff values of the Ki67 parameters were assessed by the online algorithm Cutoff Finder.Kaplan-Meier analysis, the log-rank test and Cox regression analysis were carried out to analyze survival.Results: The optimal cutoff values for the postsurgical Ki67 level and the decrease in the Ki67 level during NAC were defined as 25% and 12.5%, respectively.According to the univariate survival analysis, a higher Ki67 level in residual disease was associated with poor RFS(P = 0.004) and BCSS(P = 0.014).In addition, a Ki67 expression decrease > 12.5% during NAC was related to favorable RFS(P = 0.007), but was not related to BCSS(P = 0.452).Cox regression analysis showed that the Ki67 expression decrease(> 12.5% vs.≤ 12.5%) and histological grade(grade 3 vs.grade 1-2) were the independent factors associated with RFS(P =0.020 and P = 0.023, respectively), with HR values of 0.353(95% CI: 0.147-0.850) and 3.422(95% CI: 1.188-9.858), respectively.Conclusions: The Ki67 decrease was one of the independent factors associated with RFS in LABC patients with residual disease after receiving NAC.Chunfa Chen Yuling Zhang Ziyi Huang Jundong Wu Wenhe Huang Guojun Zhang 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3:4

The crystal system is mono-clinic, space group is P21/c, Z = 4, a = 1.3741(1) nm, b = 2.6737(1) nm, c = 1.6690(1) nm, β=101.278(1)°. The steric congestion between the neighbouring butoxyl groups causes the distortion of the ring core of phthalocyanine (Pc) into a saddle shape conformation. 10Augmenting MNK1/2 activation by c-FMS proteolysis promotes osteoclastogenesis and arthritic bone erosion显示文摘Osteoclasts are bone-resorbing cells that play an essential role in homeostatic bone remodeling and pathological bone erosion.Macrophage colony stimulating factor(M-CSF)is abundant in rheumatoid arthritis(RA).However,the role of M-CSF in arthritic bone erosion is not completely understood.Here,we show that M-CSF can promote osteoclastogenesis by triggering the proteolysis of c-FMS,a receptor for M-CSF,leading to the generation of FMS intracellular domain(FICD)fragments.Increased levels of FICD fragments positively regulated osteoclastogenesis but had no effect on inflammatory responses.Moreover,myeloid cell-specific FICD expression in mice resulted in significantly increased osteoclast-mediated bone resorption in an inflammatory arthritis model.The FICD formed a complex with DAP5,and the FICD/DAP5 axis promoted osteoclast differentiation by activating the MNK1/2/EIF4E pathway and enhancing NFATcl protein expression.Moreover,targeting the MNK1/2 pathway diminished arthritic bone erosion.These results identified a novel role of c-FMS proteolysis in osteoclastogenesis and the pathogenesis of arthritic bone erosion.Se Hwan Mun Seyeon Bae Steven Zeng Brian Oh Carmen Chai Matthew Jundong Kim Haemin Kim George Kalliolias Chitra Lekha Dahia Younseo Oh Tae-Hwan Kim Jong Dae Ji Kyung-Hyun Park-Min 2021Bone Research2021,9,4:2

12Sex-specific responses of tree-ring growth to climate in the dioecious tree Populus cathayana显示文摘Aims Radial growth in response to climate has been reported in many trees,but the sex-specific responses of tree-ring growth associated with altitude in dioecious trees are still poorly known.This study aims to examine whether(i)there are sex-related responses of tree-ring growth to climate in dioecious trees;(ii)these responses could be changed with altitude elevation.Methods The tree-ring width and basal area increment(BAI)were measured over the past 30 years(1982-2011),and the sexual differences in relationship between BAI and time span and correlations between ring width and climatic factors were investigated in Populus cathayana trees at two altitude sites(1,450 m and 1,750 m a.s.l.)in Xiaowutai Mountain,Hebei,north China.Important Findings The BAI was increased over the past 30 years.Trees at high-altitude sites had significantly lower mean ring width and mean BAI than those trees at low-altitude sites(P<0.001).In addition,sexual dif-ferences in tree-ring growth and its response to climate were more pronounced by altitude elevation.Male trees had a significantly larger mean ring width and mean BAI than did females at high-alti-tude sites,whereas no significant sexual differences in these traits were detected at low-altitude sites.Female trees were sensitive to previous October-November temperatures at high altitude but to current February and April precipitation at low altitude(P<0.05),whereas male trees were sensitive to current June temperature at high altitude but to January precipitation at low altitude(P<0.05).Our results indicated that the responses of tree-ring growth to cli-mate are sex dependent and can be changed with altitude elevation.Kechao Huang Yongmei Liao Tingfa Dong Yanxia Yang Jundong He Huihui Huan Qibing Zhang Xiao Xu 2018Journal of Plant Ecology2018,11,5:2
13Ferroelectric materials for vibrational energy harvesting显示文摘Energy harvesting is an appealing technology that makes use of the ambient energy which is otherwise wasted. Piezoelectric materials directly convert the elastic energy to the electric energy, and thus have a great advantage in scavenging vibrational energy for simplicity in device structure with relatively high power density. This paper provides an overview on the research of piezoelectric materials in energy harvesting in recent decades, from basics of piezoelectricity and working principle of energy harvesting with piezoelectric materials, to the progress of development of high-performance piezoelectrics including ceramics, single crystals and polymers, then to experimental attempts on the device fabrication and optimization, finally to perspective applications of piezoelectric energy harvesting(PEH). The criteria for selection of materials for PEH applications are introduced. Not only the figure of merit but also maximum allowable stress of materials are taken into account in the evaluation of their potential in achieving high energy density and output power density. The influence of the device configuration on the performance is also acknowledged and discussed. The magnitude and distribution of induced stress in the piezoelectric unit upon excitation by the vibration source play an important role in determining the output power density and can be tuned via proper design of device configuration without changing its resonant frequency. Approaches to address the issue of frequency match accompanying with the resonant mode are illustrated with literature examples. Usage of PEH devices can be extended to a variety of vibration sources in everyday life as well as in nature. 16Studies on Surface Properties and Cell Adhesion Properties of BSA Modified DBM Scaffold显示文摘As a scaffold material for bone tissue engineering, demineralized bone matrix(DBM) has such a limited ability to load cells and growth factors that the surface of the DBM scaffold was modified with bovine serum albumin(BSA) with different concentrations to improve the protein stmcture and physicochemical properties of the scaffold surface so as to enhance the adhesion of the cells. And the appropriate BSA concentration was explored. Compared with DBM, the scaffold with BSA coating had a smaller pore size and a lower porosity, also, the degradation rate was accelerated and the hydrophilic property was improved. Cells adhesion was observed inside the DBM seaffold before and after it had been modified, and the BSA modified scaffold had a good cell compatibility.
