11Could Military Commanders’ Good LeadershipInfluence Subordinates’ Smartphone Overdependence? A Serial Mediation Analysis显示文摘Owing to the ubiquitous use of smartphones by soldiers, military researchers have an increasing interest in potentially problematicside effects such as smartphone overdependence. This raises a question regarding the psychological mechanisms underlying thepotentially self-damaging use of smartphones. Here, we address this question by analyzing how heterogeneity in commander’sgood leadership explains subordinate soldiers’ differences in self-control and smartphone use. Specifically, we found thatsubordinate soldiers who thought their commander's leadership was good were self-regulated, less dependent on smartphones,less stressed, and finally had good mental health. This result indicates that commander’s good leadership can be used toestimate whether subordinate soldiers exert control over their impulses and use their smartphones properly. 13Multifocal skull-compensated transcranial focused ultrasound system for neuromodulation applications based on acoustic holography显示文摘Transcranial focused ultrasound stimulation is a promising therapeutic modality for human brain disorders because of its noninvasiveness,long penetration depth,and versatile spatial control capability through beamforming and beam steering.However,the skull presents a major hurdle for successful applications of ultrasound stimulation.Specifically,skull-induced focal aberration limits the capability for accurate and versatile targeting of brain subregions.In addition,there lacks a fully functional preclinical neuromodulation system suitable to conduct behavioral studies.Here,we report a miniature ultrasound system for neuromodulation applications that is capable of highly accurate multiregion targeting based on acoustic holography.Our work includes the design and implementation of an acoustic lens for targeting brain regions with compensation for skull aberration through time-reversal recording and a phase conjugation mirror.Moreover,we utilize MEMS and 3D-printing technology to implement a 0.75-g lightweight neuromodulation system and present in vivo characterization of the packaged system in freely moving mice.This preclinical system is capable of accurately targeting the desired individual or multitude of brain regions,which will enable versatile and explorative behavior studies using ultrasound neuromodulation to facilitate widespread clinical adoption.Geon Kook Yehhyun Jo Chaerin Oh Xiaojia Liang Jaewon Kim Sang-Mok Lee Subeen Kim Jung-Woo Choi Hyunjoo Jenny Lee 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,2:0

15Rapid determination of lithium-ion battery degradation: High C-rate LAM and calculated limiting LLI显示文摘Herein,incremental capacity-differential voltage (IC-DV) at a high C-rate (HC) is used as a non-invasive diagnostic tool in lithium-ion batteries,which inevitably exhibit capacity fading caused by multiple mechanisms during charge/discharge cycling.Because battery degradation modes are complex,the simple output of capacity fading does not yield any useful data in that respect.Although IC and DV curves obtained under restricted conditions (<0.1C,25℃) were applied in non-invasive analysis for accurate observation of degradation symptoms,a facile,rapid diagnostic approach without intricate,complex calculations is critical in on-board applications.Herein,Li Ni_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2)(NMC532)/graphite pouch cells were cycled at 4 and 6C and the degradation characteristics,i.e.,loss of active materials (LAM) and loss of lithium inventory (LLI),were parameterized using the IC-DV curves.During the incremental current cycling,the initial steep LAM and LLI slopes underwent gradual transitions to gentle states and revealed the gap between low-and high-current measurements.A quantitative comparison of LAM at high and low C-rate showed that a IC;revealed the relative amount of available reaction region limited by cell polarization.However,this did not provide a direct relationship for estimating the LAM at a low C-rate.Conversely,the limiting LLI,which is calculated at a C-rate approaching 0,was obtained by extrapolating the LLI through more than two points measured at high C-rate,and therefore,the LLI at 0.1C was accurately determined using rapid cycling.Gyuwon Seo Jaeyun Ha Moonsu Kim Jihyeon Park Jaewon Lee Eunoak Park Sungyool Bong Kiyoung Lee Soon Jong Kwon Seung-pil Moon Jinsub Choi Jaeyoung Lee 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4:0
16Sulfur-doped hard carbon hybrid anodes with dual lithium-ion/metal storage bifunctionality for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Bifunctional hybrid anodes(BHAs),which are both a high-performance active host material for lithium-ion storage as well as a guiding agent for homogeneous lithium metal nucleation and growth,exhibit significant potential as anodes for next-generation high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).In this study,sulfur-doped hard carbon nanosphere assemblies(S-HCNAs)were prepared through a hydrothermal treatment of a liquid organic precursor,followed by high-temperature thermal annealing with elemental sulfur for application as BHAs for LIBs.In a carbonate-based electrolyte containing fluoroethylene carbonate additive,the S-HCNAs showed high lithium-ion storage capacities in sloping as well as plateau voltage sections,good rate capabilities,and stable cyclabilities.In addition,high average Coulombic efficiencies(CEs)of~96.9%were achieved for dual lithium-ion and lithium metal storage cycles.In the LIB full-cell tests with typical NCM811 cathodes,the S-HCNA-based BHAs containing~400 mA h g^(−1) of excess lithium led to high energy and power densities of~500Wh kg^(−1) and~1695Wkg^(−1),respectively,and a stable cycling performance with~100%CEs was achieved.Sungmin Cho Jong Chan Hyun Son Ha Yeonhua Choi Honggyu Seong Jaewon Choi Hyoung-Joon Jin Young Soo Yun 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,1:0
