1Organic carbon accumulation capability of two typical tidal wetland soils in Chongming Dongtan,China显示文摘We measured organic carbon input and content of soil in two wetland areas of Chongming Dongtan(Yangtze River Estuary) to evaluate variability in organic carbon accumulation capability in different wetland soils.Observed differences were investigated based on the microbial activity and environmental factors of the soil at the two sites.Results showed that the organic carbon content of wetland soil vegetated with Phragmites australis(site A) was markedly lower than that with P.australis and Spartina alterniflora(site B).Sites differences were due to higher microbial activity at site A,which led to higher soil respiration intensity and greater carbon outputs.This indicated that the capability of organic carbon accumulation of the site B soils was greater than at site A.In addition,petroleum pollution and soil salinity were different in the two wetland soils.After bio-remediation,the soil petroleum pollution at site B was reduced to a similar level of site A.However,the culturable microbial biomass and enzyme activity in the remediated soils were also lower than at site A.These results indicated that greater petroleum pollution at site B did not markedly inhibit soil microbial activity.Therefore,differences in vegetation type and soil salinity were the primary factors responsible for the variation in microbial activity,organic carbon output and organic carbon accumulation capability between site A and site B.Shiping Zhang Lei Wang Jiajun Hu Wenquan Zhang Xiaohua Fu Yiquan Le Fangming Jin 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1:11
2Compound Danshen tablets downregulate amyloid protein precursor mRNA expression in a transgenic cell model of Alzheimer's disease Effects and a comparison with donepezil显示文摘After gene mutation, the pcDNA3.1/APP595/596 plasmid was transfected into HEK293 cells to establish a cell model of Alzheimer's disease. The cell model was treated with donepezil or compound Danshen tablets after culture for 72 hours. Reverse transcription-PCR showed that the mRNA expression of amyloid protein precursor decreased in all groups following culture for 24 hours, and that there was no significant difference in the amount of decrease between donepezil and compound Danshen tablets. 3Thermal Shock-Activated Spontaneous Growing of Nanosheets for Overall Water Splitting显示文摘Nanomaterials based on nickel foam(NF) have been widely applied in energy conversion and storage field.Traditional synthesis methods such as hydrothermal method which is dangerous and high cost limited the scalable developments.Herein,we report a fast,simple,and low-cost synthesis method of nanomaterials based on NF by Joule-heating and water soaking treatment.Thin carbon-coated CoS on NF(NF-C/CoS) was synthesized by Joule-heating for a few seconds with rapid cooling.And then,NF-C/CoS/NiOOH with core-shell heterostructure was fabricated by soaking treatment of NF-C/CoS in water on which NiOOH nanosheets grew spontaneously.The formation mechanism is proposed that the coordination complex precursor converts into C/CoS on NF driven by Joule-heating,and the nickel on the surface of NF is activated to form metastable nickel simultaneously.The metastable nickel reacting with water leads to the formation of NiOOH,and the induction of CoS makes NiOOH grow continuously.This synthesis technology provides a new route to manufacture NF-based nanostructures,and the as-fabricated NF-C/CoS/NiOOH exhibits great potential as electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction.Han Wu Qi Lu Jinfeng Zhang Jiajun Wang Xiaopeng Han Naiqin Zhao Wenbin Hu Jiajun Li Yanan Chen Yida Deng 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:6
4Autotoxicity of Phthalate Esters in Tobacco Root Exudates:Effects on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth显示文摘Autotoxicity is one of the major factors that impede continuous cropping.It is defined as the toxic influence of chemicals released from one plant species on the germination and growth of individuals of the same species.Here, in order to exam the autotoxicity of tobacco root exudates, root exudates were collected from tobacco plants grown both in cultural solution and on natural soil.Using ultraperformance liquid chromatography coupled with triple-quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry, main autotoxic chemical substances in the root exudates were identified.The autotoxic effects of suspected autotoxins on seed germination(including germination rate,germination potential, germination index, and vigor index) and seedling growth were analyzed.Dibutyl phthalate(or diisobutyl phthalate), dioctyl phthalate, and diisooctyl phthalate were identified in tobacco root exudates.It was observed that high concentrations(greater than 0.5 mmol L^(-1)) of each identified phthalate ester caused significant(P < 0.05) inhibition of tobacco seed germination and seedling growth.It can be concluded that phthalate esters such as dibutyl phthalate, diisobutyl phthalate, and diisooctyl phthalate in tobacco root exudates may play an important role in tobacco autotoxicity.DENG Jiajun ZHANG Yanling HU Jiwei JIAO Jiaguo HU Feng LI Huixin ZHANG Shixiang 2017Pedosphere2017,27,6:5

7Antimony doped Cs2SnCl6 with bright and stable emission显示文摘Lead halide perovskites,with high photoluminescence efficiency and narrow・band emission,are promising materials for display and lighting.However,the lead toxicity and environmental sensitivity hinder their potential applications.Herein,a new antimony・doped lead-free inorganic perovskites variant Cs2SnCl6:xSb is designed and synthesized.The perovskite variant Cs2SnCl6:xSb exhibits a broadband orange-red emission,with a photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 37%.The photoluminescence of Cs2SnCl6:xSb is caused by the ionoluminescence of Sb3+within Cs2SnCl6 matrix,which is verified by temperature dependent photoluminescence(PL)and PL decay measurements.In addition,the all inorganic structure renders Cs2SnCl6:xSb with excellent thermal and water stability.Finally,a white light-emitting diode(white-LED)is fabricated by assembling Cs2SnCl6:0.59%Sb,Cs2SnCl6:2.75%Bi and Ba2Sr2SiO4:Eu2+onto the commercial UV LED chips,and the color rendering index(CRI)reaches 81.Jinghui LI Zhifang TAN Manchen HU Chao CHEN Jiajun LUO Shunran LI Liang GAO Zewen XIAO Guangda NIU Jiang TANG 2019Frontiers of Optoelectronics2019,12,4:2
8A Single-legged Robot Inspired by the Jumping Mechanism of Click Beetles and Its Hopping Dynamics Analysis显示文摘The click beetle can jump up with a hinge when it is on the dorsal side.This jumping mechanism is simple and suitable as an inspiration for designing a simple,small,and reliable hopping robot.We report a single-legged robot inspired by the jumping mechanism of click beetles.It is 85 mm high,60 mm long,and 41 mm wide,and weighs about 49 g.The robot has good hopping performance that the hopping height is about 4 times-4.3 times of its body height.It is capable for rescue missions that require to enter enclosed spaces through cracks and narrow channels.In addition,hopping dynamics of the robot is important to understand its jumping mechanism and improve the robot’s hopping performance.But existing dynamic study does not complete the analysis including all stages in the hopping which are pre-hopping,take-off,and air-flying.We propose the decomposition method to study dynamics of the three stages separately,and synthesize them with related parameters.The dynamic synthesis of multi-motion states in a hopping cycle of the single-legged hopping robot is implemented.The hopping performance and dynamic synthesis theory of the robot are verified by simulations and experiments.Our study helps lay the foundation for design and hopping control of simple hopping robot systems.Gang Chen Jiajun Tu Xiaocong Ti Huosheng Hu 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,6:2
9Drug resistance in targeted cancer therapies with RAF inhibitors显示文摘Hyperactive RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling has a well-defined role in cancer biology.Targeting this pathway results in complete or partial regression of most cancers.In recent years,cancer genomic studies have revealed that genetic alterations that aberrantly activate the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling mainly occur on RAF or upstream,which motivated the extensive development of RAF inhibitors for cancer therapy.Currently,the first-generation RAF inhibitors have been approved for treating late-stage cancers with BRAF(V600E)mutations.Although these inhibitors have achieved promising outcomes in clinical treatments,their efficacy is abolished by quick-rising drug resistance.Moreover,cancers with hyperactive RAS exhibit intrinsic resistance to these drugs.To resolve these problems,the second-generation RAF inhibitors have been designed and are undergoing clinical evaluations.Here,we summarize the recent findings from mechanistic studies on RAF inhibitor resistance and discuss the critical issues in the development of next-generation RAF inhibitors with better therapeutic index,which may provide insights for improving targeted cancer therapy with RAF inhibitors.Ufuk Degirmenci Jiajun Yap Yuen Rong MSim Shiru Qin Jiancheng Hu 2021Cancer Drug Resistance2021,4,3:2
10Universally improving effect of mixed electron donors on the CO_2 fixing efficiency of non-photosynthetic microbial communities from marine environments显示文摘The universality of improved CO2 fixing upon the addition of mixed electron donors(MEDs)composed of Na2 S,NO2-,and S2O32-to non-photosynthetic microbial communities(NPMCs)obtained from 12 locations in four oceans of the world was validated. The CO2 fixing efficiencies of NPMCs were universally enhanced by MED compared with those obtained using H2 alone as electron donor,with average increase of about 276%. An increase in microbial inoculation concentration could increase the net amount of CO2 fixing to853.34 mg/L in the presence of MED. NO2-and S2O32-may play the roles of both electron acceptor and electron donor under aerobic conditions,which may improve the energy utilization efficiency of NPMC and enhance the CO2 fixation efficiency. The sequence determination of 16 S ribosomal deoxyribonucleic acid(rDNA) from 150 bacteria of NPMC showed that more than 50% of the bacteria were symbiotic and there were many heterotrophic bacteria such as Vibrio natriegens. These results indicate that NPMC acts as a symbiotic CO2 fixing system. 11Studies on metabolic extract of Altemaria alternata and toxicity显示文摘Altemaria alternata were isolated from wheat seeds collected from villages in Tianshui area of Gansu Province where Kaschin-Beck disease is prevalent. 12NES1/KLK10 and hNIS gene therapy enhanced iodine-131 internal radiation in PC3 proliferation inhibition显示文摘NES1 gene is thought to be a tumor-suppressor gene.Our previous study found that overexpression of NES1 gene in PC3 cell line could slow down the tumor proliferation rate,associated with a mild decrease in BCL-2 expression.The BCL-2 decrease could increase the sensitivity of radiotherapy to tumors.Thus,we supposed to have an“enhanced firepower”effect by combining overexpressed NES1 gene therapy and 131I radiation therapy uptake by overexpressed hNIS protein.We found a weak endogenous expression of hNIS protein in PC3 cells and demonstrated that the low expression of hNIS protein in PC3 cells might be the reason for the low iodine uptake.By overexpressing hNIS in PC3,the radioactive iodine uptake ability was significantly increased.Results of in vitro and in vivo tumor proliferation experiments and 18F-fluorothymidine(18F-FLT)micro-positron emission tomography/computed tomography(micro-PET/CT)imaging showed that the combined NES1 gene therapy and 131I radiation therapy mediated by overexpressed hNIS protein had the best tumor proliferative inhibition effect.Immunohistochemistry showed an obvious decrease of Ki-67 expression and the lowest BCL-2 expression.These data suggest that via inhibition of BCL-2 expression,overexpressed NES1 might enhance the effect of radiation therapy of 131I uptake in hNIS overexpressed PC3 cells.Jiajia Hu Wenbin Shen Qian Qu Xiaochun Fei Ying Miao Xinyun Huang Jiajun Liu Yingli Wu Biao Li 2019Frontiers of Medicine2019,13,6:1

18Distribution of reactive aluminum under the influence of mesoscale eddies in the western South China Sea显示文摘To understand the distribution of aluminum(Al) under the influence of mesocale eddies in the western South China Sea(SCS), sea level anomaly, geostrophic current, environmental parameters and reactive Al were investigated in the western SCS in August 2013. The highest reactive Al concentration((180±64) nmol/L) was observed in the surface waters, indicating a substantial atmospheric input. Vertically, the reactive Al decreased from the surface high concentration to the subsurface minima at the depth of chlorophyll a(Chl a) maxima and then increased again with depth at most of the stations. The average concentration of reactive Al in the upper 100 m water column was significantly lower in the cyclonic eddy((137±6) nmol/L) as compared with that in the noneddy waters((180±21) nmol/L). By contrast, the average concentrations of Chl a and silicate in the upper 100 m water column were higher in the cyclonic eddy and lower in the anticyclonic eddy. There was a significant negative correlation between the average concentrations of reactive Al and Chl a in the upper 100 m water column. The vertical distribution of reactive Al and the negative correlation between reactive Al and Chl a both suggest that the reactive Al in the upper water column was significantly influenced by biological removal processes. 19Pathologically triggered in situ aggregation of nanoparticles for inflammation-targeting amplification and therapeutic potentiation显示文摘Uncontrolled and persistent inflammation is closely related to numerous acute and chronic diseases.However,effective targeting delivery systems remain to be developed for precision therapy of inflammatory diseases.Herein we report a novel strategy for engineering inflammationaccumulation nanoparticles via phenolic functionalization.Different phenol-functionalized nanoparticles were first developed,which can undergo in situ aggregation upon triggering by the inflammatory/oxidative microenvironment.Phenolic compound-decorated poly(lactide-co-glycolide)nanoparticles,in particular tyramine(Tyr)-coated nanoparticles,showed significantly enhanced accumulation at inflammatory sites in mouse models of colitis,acute liver injury,and acute lung injury,mainly resulting from in situ cross-linking and tissue anchoring of nanoparticles triggered by local myeloperoxidase and reactive oxygen species.By combining a cyclodextrin-derived bioactive material with Tyr decoration,a multifunctional nanotherapy(TTN)was further developed,which displayed enhanced cellular uptake,antiinflammatory activities,and inflammatory tissue accumulation,thereby affording amplified therapeutic effects in mice with colitis or acute liver injury.Moreover,TTN can serve as a bioactive and inflammation-targeting nanoplatform for site-specifically delivering a therapeutic peptide to the inflamed colon post oral administration,leading to considerably potentiated in vivo efficacies.Preliminary studies also revealed good safety of orally delivered TTN.Consequently,Tyr-based functionalization is promising for inflammation targeting amplification and therapeutic potentiation of nanotherapies.Qiang Nie Chenwen Li Yu Wang Yi Hu Wendan Pu Qixiong Zhang Jiajun Cai Yongyao Lin Gang Li Chenping Wang Lanlan Li Yin Dou Jianxiang Zhang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,1:1
