1Land Use Effects on the Distribution and Speciation of Heavy Metals and Arsenic in Coastal Soils on Chongming Island in the Yangtze River Estuary, China显示文摘The reclamation of tidal flats has been one of the important approaches to replenish the arable lands in the coastal areas; pollution status of reclaimed soils has received wide attention recently, especially for the study of heavy metals due to the relative high pollutant concentrations in wetlands. To understand the impact of land use change on heavy metal and arsenic(As) geochemistry by the reclamation of wetlands for agriculture, surface soils and soil profiles were collected from the agricultural land reclaimed in the 1990 s and the intertidal flat wetland at Dongtan on Chongming Island in the Yangtze River Estuary, China. The soil samples were analyzed for total concentrations and chemical speciation of chromium(Cr), zinc(Zn), copper(Cu), lead(Pb), nickel(Ni), cadmium(Cd) and As using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS). Results showed that soil properties(salinity, total organic carbon and grain-size distribution) and the concentrations of heavy metals and As in the soils differed under the different land use types. The conversion of wetland to forest had caused obvious losses of all the measured heavy metals. In paddy field and dryland with frequent cultivation, the concentrations of Cr, Zn, Cu, Ni and As were higher when compared to forest land which was disturbed rarely by human activities. Speciation analysis showed that Cr, Zn, Cu, Ni and As were predominated by the immobile residual fraction, while Pb and Cd showed relatively higher mobility. In general, metal(except Ni) and As mobility decreased in the following order: wetland> dryland ≥ paddy field > forest land, which suggested that the reclaimed soils had lower metal and As mobility than the intertidal flat wetland. 2Analysis and Design of Four-Plate Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer System for Undersea Applications显示文摘This paper presents a four-plate undersea capacitive wireless power transfer(CPT)system for underwater applications such as autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs).Generally,a CPT system transfers the power based on electric fields.The complex resonant compensation networks are used to make the CPT system work in the resonant condition.The resonant voltage is always very high.It will be a big challenge to the human safety.In this paper,a virtual electrons periodic reciprocating flow theory is proposed for the CPT system.In one switching cycle,the electrons firstly flow in the forward direction through the forward path and then flow in the inverse direction through the inverse path.The CPT system has been deeply studied with the vacuum dielectric or the air dielectric.However,for the CPT system,there are few papers to show the underwater application.In this paper,an undersea four-plate CPT system is designed and studied in the underwater condition.The two coupling capacitors and other elements of the CPT system could build a closed-loop path.A small value inductor is adapted as a resonant compensation network for the four-plate CPT system.The DC voltage is inverted to the AC voltage in the primary side with the single-phase full-bridge inverter.The resonant voltage is rectified to the DC voltage in the secondary side with the single-phase full-bridge diode rectifier.A 100 W power level CPT system is constructed to verify the theory analysis and the calculation.The theory analysis is verified by the simulated and experimental results.The stable output voltage and load power are achieved in this paper.Lei Yang Yuanqi Zhang Xiaojie Li Jiale Jian Zhe Wang Jingjing Huang Li Ma Xiangqian Tong 2021CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2021,5,3:9
3Extraction of lithium from the simulated pyrometallurgical slag of spent lithium-ion batteries by binary eutectic molten carbonates显示文摘The effective and low-temperature extraction of lithium from the pyrometallurgical slag of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)remains a great challenge.Herein,potassium carbonate/sodium carbonate(K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3)),which could form a eutectic molten salt system at 720℃,was used as a roasting agent to extract lithium from pyrometallurgical slag.Lithium was successfully extracted from the slag by K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3) roasting followed by water leaching.Theoretical calculation results indicate that the lengths of Li-O bonds increase after K^(+)/Na^(+)adsorption,resulting in the easy release of Li^(+)from the LiAlSi_(2)O_(6) lattice after roasting with K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3).Thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry results indicate that the eutectic phenomenon of K_(2)CO_(3) and Na_(2)CO_(3) could be observed at 720℃ and that the reaction of the slag and eutectic molten salts occurs at temperatures above 720℃.X-ray diffraction results suggest that Li^(+)in the slag is exchanged by K^(+)in K_(2)CO_(3) with the concurrent formation of KAlSiO_(4),while Na_(2)CO_(3) mainly functions as a fluxing agent.The lithium extraction efficiency can reach 93.87%under the optimal conditions of a roasting temperature of 740℃,roasting time of 30 min,leaching temperature of 50℃,leaching time of 40 min,and water/roasted sample mass ratio of 10:1.This work provides a new system for extracting lithium from the pyrometallurgical slag of spent LIBs.Hui Dang Zhidong Chang Hualei Zhou Sihang Ma Min Li Jialing Xiang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,9:2
4Numerical Simulation of Microwaveassisted Depolymerization of Kraft Lignin显示文摘Kraft lignin has the potential to replace traditional fossil resources for the preparation of high-value chemicals because it is rich in aromatic rings and active functional groups.An effective method for the pyrolysis of kraft lignin into chemicals/fuels is microwave-assisted depolymerization.A simulation model is urgently needed to illustrate the coupling effect and mechanism of lignin conversion during the depolymerization process.In this study,COMSOL Multiphysics was used to simulate the microwave-assisted depolymerization process.The results showed that microwave power had a significant effect on the electric field and temperature distribution in the microwave cavity,while the reaction time had little effect on the electric field.The effect of the nitrogen flow rate on the electric field and temperature was negligible.The intensity of the electric field,heating rate of lignin,and final temperature of lignin depolymerization increased with increasing microwave power.Zhenhao Ma Wenliang Wang Jiale Huang Yujun Ma Hui Miao Yishuai Fu Xiaoxiao Ren 2021Paper And Biomaterials2021,6,4:2
5Active facet determination of layered double hydroxide for oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction(OER) plays an indispensable role in developing renewable clean energy resources. One of the critical bottlenecks for the reaction is the development of highly efficient electrocatalyst to decrease the high overpotentials of four-electron transfer process of OER. Recently, layered double hydroxides(LDHs) have been widely investigated among the most promising electrocatalysts for OER due to their high intrinsic activity, excellent stability as well as low-cost. However, it remains unclear how the exposed facet of the LDHs affects their electrocatalytic activity. Here we elucidate the active edge facet of LDHs towards OER by combining the finely control of edge facet ratio coupled with molecular probe method and computational calculation. The LDHs with higher edge facet area ratio show superior activity with low onset potential as well as decreased Tafel slope. The active edge site is further proved by blocking the unsaturated edge sites with cyanate probe anion, of which the adsorption largely inhibits OER activity. 8Identification of a phage-derived depolymerase specific for KL47 capsule of Klebsiella pneumoniae and its therapeutic potential in mice显示文摘Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the major pathogens causing global multidrug-resistant infections.Therefore,strategies for preventing and controlling the infections are urgently needed.Phage depolymerase,often found in the tail fiber protein or the tail spike protein,is reported to have antibiofilm activity.In this study,phage P560isolated from sewage showed specific for capsule locus type KL47 K.pneumoniae,and the enlarged haloes around plaques indicated that P560 encoded a depolymerase.The capsule depolymerase,ORF43,named P560dep,derived from phage P560 was expressed,purified,characterized and evaluated for enzymatic activity as well as specificity.We reported that the capsule depolymerase P560dep,can digest the capsule polysaccharides on the surface of KL47 type K.pneumoniae,and the depolymerization spectrum of P560dep matched to the host range of phage P560,KL47 K.pneumoniae.Crystal violet staining assay showed that P560dep was able to significantly inhibit biofilm formation.Further,a single dose(50μg/mouse)of depolymerase intraperitoneal injection protected 90%–100%of mice from lethal challenge before or after infection by KL47 carbapenem-resistant K.pneumoniae.And pathological changes were alleviated in lung and liver of mice infected by KL47 type K.pneumoniae.It is demonstrated that depolymerase P560dep as an attractive antivirulence agent represents a promising tool for antimicrobial therapy.Min Li Hui Wang Long Chen Genglin Guo Pei Li Jiale Ma Rong Chen Hong Du Yuqing Liu Wei Zhang 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,4:1

10Characteristics of air-water flow in an emptying tank under different conditions显示文摘This paper experimentally studied the features of air-water flow during the emptying of a water-filled prismatic tank with a bottom orifice under different conditions.The experiments were conducted with both circular and elliptical orifices,with and without ventilation.The evolution of bubbles,water pressure variation,and water level change with time were recorded in the experiments and analyzed.Based on the results,the evolution of bubbles could be mainly divided into three stages of formation,deformation,and decomposition.Ventilation was found important to the emptying process,with which the drainage efficiency was much higher than that under the unventilated condition.Additionally,under the unventilated condition,the drainage efficiency with the circular orifice was slightly higher than that with the elliptical orifice.Jialing Liang Yiyi Ma Yi Zheng 2021Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2021,11,6:0

12Evaluation of new IPSS-Molecular model and comparison of different prognostic systems in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome显示文摘A risk-adapted treatment strategy is of crucial importance in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes(MDS).Previous risk prognostic scoring systems did not integrate molecular abnormalities.The new IPSS-Molecular(IPSS-M)model,combing genomic profiling with hematologic and cytogenetic parameters,was recently developed to evaluate the associations with leukemia-free survival(LFS),leukemic transformation,and overall survival(OS).However,it has not yet been widely validated in clinics.This study aims to further validate the prognostic power of IPSS-M based on real-world data and to compare the prognostic value of different scoring systems in patients with MDS.IPSS-M Web calculator was used to calculate a tailored IPSS-M score of the enrolled patient(N=255),and the risk category was defined correspondingly.We next compared the IPSS-M prognostic power to that of IPSS,IPSS-R,and WPSS.We found that IPSS-M risk classification was statistically significant for 3-year OS and LFS.Compared with other tools,IPSS-M was superior in sensitivity and accuracy for 3-year OS and LFS.The mapping C-index between IPSS-R and IPSS-M categories resulted in improved discrimination across the OS,but not LFS and leukemic transformation.The result of different treatment options indicated that allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT)can result in a better OS than those without allo-HSCT.In conclusion,IPSS-M was a valuable tool for risk stratification compared with other risk prognostic scoring systems.However,more studies should be conducted to explore the appropriate treatment options for different groups stratified by IPSS-M.Jiale Ma Yan Gu Yanhui Wei Xuee Wang Peixuan Wang Chunhua Song Zheng Ge 2023Blood Science2023,5,3:0
13Electrically programmable phase-change photonic memory for optical neural networks with nanoseconds in situ training capability显示文摘Optical neural networks (ONNs), enabling low latency and high parallel data processing withoutelectromagnetic interference, have become a viable player for fast and energy-efficient processing andcalculation to meet the increasing demand for hash rate. Photonic memories employing nonvolatile phase-change materials could achieve zero static power consumption, low thermal cross talk, large-scale, andhigh-energy-efficient photonic neural networks. Nevertheless, the switching speed and dynamic energyconsumption of phase-change material-based photonic memories make them inapplicable for in situ training.Here, by integrating a patch of phase change thin film with a PIN-diode-embedded microring resonator,a bifunctional photonic memory enabling both 5-bit storage and nanoseconds volatile modulation wasdemonstrated. For the first time, a concept is presented for electrically programmable phase-changematerial-driven photonic memory integrated with nanosecond modulation to allow fast in situ training and zerostatic power consumption data processing in ONNs. ONNs with an optical convolution kernel constructedby our photonic memory theoretically achieved an accuracy of predictions higher than 95% when testedby the MNIST handwritten digit database. 15Transcriptomic analysis reveals growth-related genes in juvenile grass carp,Ctenopharyngodon idella显示文摘Grass carp has the highest production yield among all the farmed fish species around the world.But the molecular and genetic basis of growth traits is inadequately understood in this fish.In the present study,we apply whole-transcriptome sequencing to identify genes whose expression is different between fast and slow growing grass carp.We identified 1178 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),among which 270 were upregulated in the fast growing group and 908 upregulated in the slow growing group.The GO enrichment analysis revealed that DEGs was significantly enriched in protein synthesis and export machinery,cell division and development and metabolism,suggesting that cell division and metabolism may play key roles in development processes of fish.KEGG pathway analysis showed that MAPK signaling pathway may play a prominent role in growth difference.In addition,the majority of genes in immune responses related pathway were upregulated in the slow growing individuals.These results provide some valuable resources for understanding the molecular mechanisms of growth traits in fish.Yubang Shen Keyi Ma Qin Zhu Xiaoyan Xu Jiale Li 2022Aquaculture and Fisheries2022,7,6:0
16Method of Monitoring Three-dimensional Mining Surface Deformation Based on InSAR显示文摘In order to solve the problems of small monitoring range,long time and high cost of existing sedimentation observation methods,based on two-view sentinel No.1 radar images of Guqiao mining area in Huainan City from November 4,2017 to November 28,2017,surface change information was obtained in combination with D-InSAR,and the three-dimensional surface deformation was monitored by two-pass method and single line of sight D-InSAR method.The results show that during the research period of 24 d,the maximum deformation of the mining area reached 71 mm,and the southern subsidence was the most obvious,which was in line with the mining subsidence law.The maximum displacement from the north to the south was about 250 mm,while the maximum displacement from the east to the west was about 80 mm,and the maximum subsidence in the center was 110 mm.It is concluded that D-InSAR technique has a good effect on the inversion of the mining subsidence,and this method is suitable for three-dimensional surface monitoring in areas with similar geological conditions.The monitoring results have certain reference value.Ling QUAN Zijie LONG Zongyao MA Kangda CHEN Xueliang CHEN Yuanping XU Jiale LIU 2024Meteorological and Environmental Research2024,15,1:0
17Effects of pyraclostrobin on growth,oxidative stress,and gene expression in relation to stress and ATP-binding cassette transporters in Tetrahymena thermophila显示文摘Pyraclostrobin(PYR),a widely used fungicide,has negative effects on fish and algae,but its toxicity in protozoa remains unclear.In this study,the effects of PYR on the growth,oxidative stress,and gene expression related to stress and ATP-binding cassette(ABC)transporters in Tetrahymena thermophila were investigated.The result showed that the 96-h IC_(50)of PYR against T.thermophila was 17.2 mg/L.Moreover,PYR inhibited the growth of T.thermophila in concentration-or time-dependent manner.A morphological study revealed that the shape and size of T.thermophila changed,and damage of cell membrane surface was observed by scanning electron microscopy after 96 h of PYR exposure.The activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)increased throughout the experiment.In contrast,the glutathione(GSH)content was increased at 24 h and 48 h of exposure and decreased at 96 h.Moreover,a significant increase in malondialdehyde(MDA)level was observed in T.thermophila after96 h of exposure.Furthermore,PYR upregulated the HSP703,HSP705,GPx2,and ABAC15 gene expression in the 0.1–5-mg/L groups and downregulated the HSP704,HSP90,TGR,and ABCC52 mRNA levels at 96 h of exposure.These results suggest that PYR may exert adverse effects on T.thermophila by inducing oxidative stress and changing the gene expression related to ABC transporters and stress,which may enrich the understanding of the toxicity mechanism of PYR in aquatic organisms and provide reference data for aquatic ecological risk assessments.Yang LIU Jiale ZHANG Peng XIAO Xin LIU Yisifu MA Jing ZHANG Bangjun ZHANG 2024Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,1:0

20Large-scale preparation of high-performance boron nitride/aramid nanofiber dielectric composites显示文摘Dielectric polymers featuring high thermal conductivity,excellent mechanical,and stable dielectric properties over a broad temperature range have attracted extensive scientific attention.In this work,a large-scale,layered film was fabricated using blade-coating approach,which integrated aramid nanofibers(ANFs)and boron nitride nanosheets(BNNSs)through a typical solgel transformation procedure.The as-prepared film with 20 wt.%BNNS displays high thermal conductivity(14.03 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)),103-fold higher than pure ANF film,attributing to massive continuous thermal conduction pathway between BNNSs so as to facilitate fast phonon transmission.The film boasts excellent mechanical properties(stress 97.14±5.17 MPa,strain 19.36±0.35%),high degradation temperature(~542℃),a moderate dielectric constant(~6.9 at 104 Hz),together with low dielectric loss(~0.026 at 104 Hz).Meanwhile,the film reveals high breakdown voltage(310 MV·m^(−1))and volume resistivity(1013Ω·cm).Notably,these dielectric properties remain largely unchanged over a wide temperature range(25 to 200℃).Liying Su Xiaoyan Ma Jiale Zhou Xiangchen Liu Fanglin Du Chao Teng 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:0
