1The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. 3Chemistry and pharmacology of Siraitia grosvenorii: A review显示文摘Siraitia grosvenorii is a perennial herb endemic to Guangxi province of China. Its fruit, commonly known as Luo hanguo, and has been used for hundreds of years as a natural sweetener and as a traditional medicine for the treatment of pharyngitis, pharyngeal pain, as well as an anti-tussive remedy in China. Based on ninety-three literary sources, this review summarized the advances in chemistry, biological effects, and toxicity research of S. grosvenorii during the past 30 years. Several different classes of compounds have been isolated or detected from various parts of S. grosvenorii, mainly triterpenoids, flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids, and essential oils. Various types of extracts or individual compounds derived from this species exhibited a wide array of biological effects e.g. anti-tussive, phlegm-relieving, anti-oxidant, immunomodulatory, liver-protecting, glucose-lowering, and anti-microbial. The existing research has shown that extracts and individual compounds from S. grosvenorii are basically non-toxic. 6Isolation and characterization of dengue virus serotype 2 from the large dengue outbreak in Guangdong, China in 2014显示文摘Dengue has been well recognized as a global public health threat,but only sporadic epidemics and imported cases were reported in recent decades in China.Since July 2014,an unexpected large dengue outbreak has occurred in Guangdong province,China,resulting in more than 40000 patients including six deaths.To clarify and characterize the causative agent of this outbreak,the acute phase serum from a patient diagnosed with severe dengue was subjected to virus isolation and high-throughput sequencing(HTS).Traditional real-time RT-PCR and HTS with Ion Torrent PGM detected the presence of dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2).A clinical DENV-2 isolate GZ05/2014 was obtained by culturing the patient serum in mosquito C6/36 cells.The complete genome of GZ05/2014 was determined and deposited in Gen Bank under the access number KP012546.Phylogenetic analysis based on the complete envelope gene showed that the newly DENV-2 isolate belonged to Cosmopolitan genotype and clustered closely with other Guangdong strains isolated in the past decade.No amino acid mutations that are obviously known to increase virulence or replication were identified throughout the genome of GZ05/2014.The high homology of Guangdong DENV-2 strains indicated the possibility of establishment of local DENV-2 circulation in Guangdong,China.These results help clarify the origin of this epidemic and predict the future status of dengue in China.ZHAO Hui ZHAO Ling Zhai JIANG Tao LI Xiao Feng FAN Hang HONG Wen Xin ZHANG Yu ZHU Qin YE Qing TONG Yi Gang CAO Wu Chun ZHANG Fu Chun QIN Cheng Feng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,12:21

8Optimal time for mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in rats with myocardial infarction显示文摘Background:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) transplantation is a promising strategy in the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI). However, the time for transplanting cells remains controversial. The aim of this study was to find an optimal time point for cell transplantation. Methods: MSCs were isolated and cultured from Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. MI model was set up in SD rats by permanent ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery. MSCs were directly injected into the infarct border zone at 1 h, 1 week and 2 weeks after MI, respectively. Sham-operated and MI control groups received equal volume of phosphate buffered saline (PBS). At 4 weeks after MI, cardiac function was assessed by echocardiography; vessel density was analyzed on hematoxylin-eosin stained slides by light microscopy; the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes was evaluated by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL) assay; the expressions of proteins were analyzed by Western blot. Results: MSC transplantation improved cardiac function, reduced the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes and increased vessel density. These benefits were more obvious in 1-week group than in 1-h and 2-week groups. There are more obvious in-creases in the ratio of bcl-2/bax and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and more obvious decreases in the expression of cleaved-caspase-3 in 1-week group than those in other two groups. Conclusion: MSC transplantation was beneficial for the recovery of cardiac function. 10Fine mapping and marker-assisted selection (MAS) of a low glutelin content gene in rice显示文摘Rice with low glutelin content is suitable as functional food for patients affected with diabetes and kidney failure. The fine mapping of the gene(s) responsible for low glutelin content will provide information regarding the distribution of glutelin related genes in rice genome and will generate markers for the selection of low glutelin rice varieties. Following an SDS-PAGE screen of rice germplasm from Taihu Valley of China, Japonica selection W3660 is identified to be a novel mutant characterized with low glutelin content. For fine mapping the mutant gene for low glutelin content, F2 and F3 populations were derived from a cross between W3660 and Jingrennuo. SDS-PAGE analysis of the total endosperm protein showed that the low glutelin content trait was controlled by a single dominant nuclear gene. Genetic mapping, using SSRs, located this gene to chromosome 2, in the region between SSR2-001/SSR2-004 and RM1358. The dis- tances of the two markers to the target gene were 1.1 cM and 3.8 cM respectively. By semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis, the transcripts of GluB4/GluB5 genes located within the region do not change. However, GluB5 gene located proximal to SSR2-001/SSR2-004 was specifically reduced. SSR profiles of seven Japonica varieties were compared with that of W3660 for loci in the relevant genetic region. The markers SSR2-004 and RM1358 were used for marker- assisted selection. The selection efficiencies of SSR2-004 and RM1358 were 96.8% and 92.7% respectively. 12Projected drought conditions in Northwest China with CMIP6 models under combined SSPs and RCPs for 2015—2099显示文摘Northwest China is one of the most arid regions in the world and has experienced intriguing climate warming and humidification.Nonetheless,future climate conditions in Northwest China still remain uncertain.In this study,we applied an ensemble of the 12 latest model simulations of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)to assess future drought conditions until 2099 in Northwest China,as inferred from the Palmer Drought Severity Index(PDSI).Future drought conditions were projected under three climate change scenarios through the combination of shared socioeconomic pathways(SSPs)and representative concentration pathways(RCPs),namely,SSP126(SSP1+RCP2.6,a green development pathway),SSP245(SSP2+RCP4.5,an intermediate development pathway),and SSP585(SSP5+RCP8.5,a high development pathway).For 2015-2099,drought severity showed no trend under SSP126,in contrast,for the SSP245 and SSP585 scenarios,a rapid increase during 2015-2099 was observed,especially under SSP585.We also found that the drought frequency in Northwest China under SSP585 was generally lower than that under SSP126 and SSP245,although the drought duration under SSP585 tended to be longer.These findings suggest the green development pathway in drought mitigation and adaptation strategies in Northwest China,an arid and agricultural region along the Silk Road.LI Su-Yuan MIAO Li-Juan JIANG Zhi-Hong WANG Guo-Jie GNYAWALI Kaushal Raj ZHANG Jing ZHANG Hui FANG Ke HE Yu LI Chun 2020Advances in Climate Change Research2020,11,3:14

14Relationship Between Serum DNA Replication, Clinicopathological Characteristics and Prognosis of Hepatitis B Virus-associated Glomerulonephritis with Severe Proteinuria by Lamivudine Plus Adefovir Dipivoxil Combination Therapy显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship between HBV DNA and the clinical manifestations, pathological types, injury severity, and prognosis with HBV-GN. Methods 102 patients with HBV-GN were divided into 3 groups, according to the serum titer of the HBV DNA. 24-h urine protein excretion, and other parameters were measured. Renal biopsy were performed. The association between HBV DNA and the pathological stage of membranous nephropathy was analyzed in 78 patients with HBV-MN. 24-h urine protein excretion was used for the evaluation of the prognosis, and the relationship between HBV DNA and prognosis were analyzed. Results Several findings were demonstrated with the increase of serum HBV DNA: 24-h urine protein excretion, plasma cholesterol, and triglycerides increased significantly(P<0.05), while the plasma level of albumin decreased significantly(P<0.05); The changes of serum creatinine, C3 and C4 were found but no statistical significance. Glomerular deposition of HBVAg increased, and the pathological injury was more severe. The clinical remission rate was lower in the high replication group after treatment as compared with the low replication group(P<0.01). 15Expressions of chromogranin A and cathepsin D in human primary hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM To determine the expression and clinicalsignificance of chromogranin A and cathepsin Din hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS Double immunofluorescence stain-ing techniques combined with laser confocalscanning microscopy(LSCM)was used toinvestigate chromogranin A and cathepsin Dexpressions in 85 HCC patients.RESULTS Cathepsin D was expressed in :3normal liver tissues,while in HCC the stainingshowed regional variation and the fraction ofstrongly stained cells increased as the tumorsbecame less differentiated and usually clinicallymore malignant.Cells which showed strongpositivity for cathepsin D were present in 71/85(83.5%)cases.Strong expression of cathepsinD in cancer cells was related tohistopathological features.They were morecommon in grade 3-4(26/28,92.9%)and grade2(46/53,86.8%)tumors than in grade 1 tumors(1/4,25.0%)(P<0.01).No significantcorrelation was found between age andcathepsin D expression.In patients with positivecathepsin D reaction,the mean age was 52.1±2.8 years(range 32-68 years)and in the groupwith negative reaction,the mean age was 51.3±4.5 years(range 28-71 years).No obvious relationship was observed between CgAexpression in cancer cells and thehistopathological features.The CgA positiverate was 75.0%(3/4)in grade 1,71.7%(38/53)in grade 2,and 71.4%(20/28)in grade 3-4(P>0.05)tumors.The coexpression of CgA andcathepsin D was found by double labeledimmunofluorescence staining techniques.Theprocessing of cathepsin D was disturbed in HCCcells and accumulated in the cells.Cathepsin Dhad proteolytic activity and autocrine mitogeniceffect,suggesting their functions in invasion.These findings demonstrated that the expressionof cathepsin D in HCC had prognostic value.CONCLUSION Chromogranin A and cathepsin Dare expressed in a high proportion of HCC andthe existence of cathepsin D in HCC might berelated to processing of CgA.This is clearly asubject for further studies because of itspotential clinical applications.Xiao Feng Huang Chun Mei Wang Xiao Wen Dai Zhen Jiang Li Bo Rong Pan Li Bin Yu Bin Qian Li Fang 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,5:12
16Guanling Biota: A Marker of Triassic Biotic Recovery from the end-Permian Extinction in the Ancient Guizhou Sea显示文摘After a slow recovery from the end-Permian extinction during the Early Triassic and rapid radiation in the Middle Triassic, evolution of organisms reached a new peak phase in the Late Triassic. The Guanling Biota from the Wayao Member (conodont Paragondolella polygnathiformis Zone), Falang Formation, Xinpu, Guanling County, Guizhou Province, southwestern China corresponds to this peak that marks the full recovery from the end-Permian extinction of marine ecosystems. The biota is of high diversity, containing well preserved and completely articulated skeletons of vertebrates comprising marine reptiles, fishes, and invertebrates including crinoids, ammonites, bivalves, and other fossils, and is one of the best examples of marine ecosystem records in life history. The fossil marine reptiles and crinoids are most significant in this biota, especially the marine reptiles, which provide an important link between the Triassic Pacific and Tethys, and between Triassic basal forms and the Jurassic-Cretaceous marine top predators. The most remarkable fossils are the large completely articulated ichthyosaur skeletons up to and more than 10 m, and the first recorded thalattosaurs and placodonts in China. Following our review, of the 17 named reptilian taxa the eight listed here are considered to be valid: three ichthyosaurs (Qianichthyosaurus zhoui Li, 1999; Guizhouichthyosaurus tangae Cao and Luo in Yin et al., 2000, Guanlingsaurus liangae Yin in Yin et al., 2000), three thalattosaurs (Anshunsaurus huangguoshuensis Liu, 1999, Xinpusaurus suni Yin in Yin et al., 2000, Xinpusaurus kohi Jiang et al., 2004), and two placodonts (Sinocyamodus xinpuensis Li, 2000, Psephochelys polyosteoderma Li and Rieppel, 2002). Mixosaurus guanlingensis Cao in Yin et al., 2000 might be a junior synonym of Qianichthyosaurus zhoui Li, 1999, and Cymbospondylus asiaticus Li and You, 2002 and Panjiangsaurus epicharis Chen and Cheng, 2003 might be junior synonyms of Guizhouichthyosaurus tangae Cao and Luo in Yin et al., 2000. 17Solubilization of small molecules from coal and the resulting effects on the pore structure distribution显示文摘The solubilization of small molecules from coal by solvent extraction and the resulting effects on the pore distribution of a low rank coal were studied. Samples were extracted, in succession, with petroleum ether and with CS2. Extract and residue fractions collected during the solubilization process were analyzed by FTIR and by surface area and porosimetry. The results show that an obvious inflection point exists that allows separating the dissolution sequence into stages. Small molecules are first extracted from the free state, then molecules trapped in micropores are extracted and, finally, molecules trapped in the coal-matrix network are extracted. This is indicated from the extraction yield curves. Chain-like carbonyl compounds, -OH (or -NH) containing compounds that are hydrogen bonded and phenolics dominate the petroleum ether extracts. Chain-like carbonyl components and ether compounds (aliphatic ethers and aromatic ethers) dominate the CS2 extracts. A solvent dissolution mechanism and the effect of small molecule extraction on the pore structure are put forward. Diffusion, dissolution, pore opening, pore shrinking or even collapsing caused by swelling, creating of new micropores, pore opening and, finally, colloidallization of some micropores occurs. 18Mass transfer model,preparation and applications of zeolite membranes for pervaporation dehydration:A review显示文摘Pervaporation(including vapor permeation) is a kind of new membrane separation technology, possessing the advantages of high efficiency, energy saving and convenient operation. It has promising application in the separation and purification of organic solvents. Dehydration is an important step in the production and recovery of organic solvents. Zeolite membranes have attracted wide attention for pervaporation dehydration due to their high separation performance and good thermal/chemical stability. So far, zeolite membranes have been preliminarily industrialized for dehydration of organic solvents. This paper reviews the recent development of zeolite membranes for pervaporation dehydration, including mass transfer models, preparation and applications of zeolite membranes. 19Association between coexisting intracranial artery and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral cerebral infarction: a Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation (CARE- II) study显示文摘Background To evaluate the association between coexisting intracranial and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral acute cerebral infarct(ACI)in symptomatic patients by using magnetic resonance(MR)vessel wall imaging.Methods Symptomatic patients were recruited from a cross-sectional,multicentre study of Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation(CARE-II).All patients underwent MR imaging for extracranial carotid arterial wall,intracranial artery and brain.Coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and extracranial carotid artery mean wall thickness(MWT)≥1 mm and plaque compositions at the same side were evaluated and the ipsilateral ACI was identified.The association between coexisting atherosclerotic diseases and ACI was evaluated using logistic regression.Results 351 patients were recruited.Patients with ipsilateral ACI had significantly greater prevalence of coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(20.5%vs 4.9%,p<0.001),calcification(15.1%vs 4.4%,p=0.001)and lipid-rich necrotic core(LRNC)(19.2%vs 7.8%,p=0.002)compared with those without.Coexisting intracranial artery stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(OR 5.043,95%CI 2.378 to 10.694;p<0.001),calcification(OR 3.864,95%CI 1.723 to 8.664;p=0.001)and LRNC(OR 2.803,95%CI 1.455 to 5.401;p=0.002)were significantly associated with ipsilateral ACI.After adjusting for confounding factors,the aforementioned associations remained statistically significant(intracranial stenosis≥50%coexisting with carotid MWT≥1 mm:OR 4.313,95%CI 1.937 to 9.601,p<0.001;calcification:OR 3.606,95%CI 1.513 to 8.593,p=0.004;LRNC:OR 2.358,95%CI 1.166 to 4.769,p=0.017).Conclusions Coexistence of intracranial artery severe stenosis and extracranial carotid artery large burden and intraplaque components of calcification and LRNC are independently associated with ipsilateral ACI.Trial registration number http://gffzz1caf53c915c04334svk9n6npxwo9v6k0x.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/.Unique identifier:NCT02017756.Chunxiu Jiang Jing Zhang Jianbin Zhu Xianlong Wang Zhibo Wen Xihai Zhao Chun Yuan On behalf of CARE-II Investigators 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:11
20GC/MS Analysis of Fractional Extraction of Fusain from Tongting Bituminous Coal in CS_2显示文摘Fusain from Tongting (Huaibei, Anhui Province) bituminous (FTTB) coal was fractionally extracted using Soxhlet extractor with CS2. Then the extracts were analyzed with GC/MS. Comparison of experimental data between FTTB coal and clarain from Tongting bituminous (CTTB) coal was carried out. The results show that the kinds of small molecule components detected by GC/MS of FTTB are less than those of CTTB. Long-chain alkanes exist mostly in the extracts of fusain. Macromolecular networks are predominant in the FTTB coal mainly composed of inertinite in the coal petrography. The size of micropores in the FTTB coal is relatively small, and the development of micropores is relatively low. Thus the content of aromatic compounds with affinity for micropores is relative low in FTTB, while the content of long-chain alkanes with affinity for macromolecule networks is relatively high. Sub-components in exinite determine the distribution of long-chain alkanes extracted in the last stage. Odd-numbered carbon distribution appears when resin is most in exinite, while high carbon alkane distribution appears when exinite is dominant in cutinite.
