| 1 | Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio plus platelet-to-lymphocyte ratioin predicting survival for patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱgastric cancer显示文摘Background:The preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR) are associated with poor prognosis of gastric cancer.We aimed to determine whether the combination of NLR and PLR(NLR-PLR) could better predict survival of patients after curative resection for stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer.Methods:We collected data from the medical records of patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer undergoing curative resection between December 2000 and November 2012 at the Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center.The preoperative NLRPLR was calculated as follows:patients with both elevated NLR(≥2.1) and PLR(≥ 120) were given a score of 2,and patients with only one or neither were given a score of 1 or 0,respectively.Results:Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank tests revealed significant differences in overall survival(OS) among patients with NLR-PLR scores of 0,1 and 2(P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis showed that OS was independently associated with the NLR-PLR score[hazard ratio(HR) = 1.51,95%confidence interval(CI) 1.02-2.24,P = 0.039]and TNM stage(HR = 1.36,95%CI 1.01-1.83,P= 0.041).However,other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores,including the modified Glasgow prognostic score,the prognostic nutritional index,and the combination of platelet count and NLR,were not.In TNM stage-stratified analysis,the prognostic significance of NLR-PLR was maintained in patients with stage Ⅰ(P < 0.001) and stage Ⅱ cancers(P= 0.022).In addition,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the NLR-PLR score was higher than those of other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores(P = 0.001).Conclusion:The preoperative NLR-PLR score is a useful predictor of postoperative survival in the patients with stage l-ll gastric cancer and may help identify high-risk patients for rational therapy and timely follow-up. | Xiaowei Sun Xuechao Liu Jianjun Liu Shangxiang Chen Dazhi Xu Wei Li Youqing Zhan Yuanfang Li Yingbo Chen Zhiwei Zhou | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,7: | 25 |
| 2 | Review of CHINARE chemical oceanographic research in the Southern Ocean during 1984–2016显示文摘Between 1984 and 2016, China executed 33 Antarctic cruises with the icebreaker R/V Xuelong, which have provided opportunities for Chinese scientists to investigate the status and changes of the Southern Ocean. Research in chemical oceanography constitutes one of the primary missions of the Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition(CHINARE). This paper reviews nearly 30 years of Chinese Antarctic expeditions, focusing on the major progress achieved in chemical oceanographic research. Specifically, the sea-surface distributions and air–sea fluxes of CO_2 and N_2O are considered, and the transport, flux, and budget of organic matter are investigated based on isotopes in the Southern Ocean, especially in Prydz Bay. In addition, the nutrient distribution and deep-water particle export in Prydz Bay and the study of aerosol heavy metal characteristics are considered. | 3 | Expression of Beclin1 in non small cell lung cancer and its clinical significance显示文摘Objective:To investigate the expression of autophagy related gene;Beclin1 in human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)tissues.Methods:Protein expression of Beclin1 was determined by immunofluorescence staining and Western Blot,mRNA expression was analyzed by RT-PCR.Results:Immunofluorescence staining revealed that the level of Beclin1 expression in lung cancer was significantly lower than that in adjacent noncancerous tissues and normal tissues(expression rate 8.3%,P=0.000).The Beclin1 mRNA expression in lung cancer,adjacent noncancerous tissues and normal tissues was 1.372(±0.475)1.721(±0.521)and 1.553(±0.554)when F = 15.0,P < 0.01.Beclin1 protein expression in lung cancer,adjacent noncancerous tissues and normal tissues was 3.453(±0.852)5.423(±1.351)and 6.878(±0.997)F = 11.2,P < 0.01.Conclusion:The protein and mRNA expression of Beclin1 in lung cancer was much lower than those in and around cancer tissues and normal tissues,those differences having statistical significance.However in adjacent noncancerous tissues and normal tissues,the expression showed no difference. | Quan Liu Jianjun Wang Yongcheng Pan Lifeng Meng Xi Zhan | 2008 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2008,22,2: | 6 |
| 4 | Intercropping of Sonchus asper and Vicia faba affects plant cadmium accumulation and root responses显示文摘The cadmium(Cd)pollution of farmland soil is serious in the world.The present study investigated the effects of intercropping Vicia faba and the hyperaccumulator Sonchus asper on the Cd accumulation and root responses(morphology and secreted organic acids)of plants grown on soil from a mining area in Yunnan Province,China,under different Cd stress levels(0,50,100,and 200 mg kg-1).Intercropping increased the biomass of both S.asper and V.faba,as well as the Cd accumulation and Cd transfer coefficient from roots to shoots of S.asper,but decreased those of V.faba in the 200 mg kg-1Cd treatment.The Cd concentrations in roots,shoots,and grains from intercropped V.faba plants were positively correlated(P<0.05)with the N,N-diethyl phenylacetamide-extractable Cd content in soil.In the 50 mg kg-1Cd treatment,intercropping decreased citric and malic acids in root secretions of S.asper.Intercropped V.faba secreted more citric,oxalic,acetic,and malic acid compared with S.asper.Intercropping also increased root length and root surface area of both S.asper and V.faba.At 50 mg kg-1Cd,root length for S.asper was higher than that at 0 mg kg-1Cd,whereas V.faba roots had significantly decreased length and mean diameter.Intercropping of S.asper and V.faba is suggested as an in situ phytoremediation strategy of Cd-contaminated soils and may improve the food quality of V.faba. | Yanqun ZU Li QIN Fangdong ZHAN Jiong WU Yuan LI Jianjun CHEN Jixiu WANG Wenyou HU | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,4: | 6 |
