1WRKY transcription factors in plant responses to stresses显示文摘The WRKY gene family is among the largest families of transcription factors(TFs) in higher plants.By regulating the plant hormone signal transduction pathway,these TFs play critical roles in some plant processes in response to biotic and abiotic stress.Various bodies of research have demonstrated the important biological functions of WRKY TFs in plant response to different kinds of biotic and abiotic stresses and working mechanisms.However,very little summarization has been done to review their research progress.Not just important TFs function in plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses,WRKY also participates in carbohydrate synthesis,senescence,development,and secondary metabolites synthesis.WRKY proteins can bind to W-box(TGACC(A/T)) in the promoter of its target genes and activate or repress the expression of downstream genes to regulate their stress response.Moreover,WRKY proteins can interact with other TFs to regulate plant defensive responses.In the present review,we focus on the structural characteristics of WRKY TFs and the research progress on their functions in plant responses to a variety of stresses.Jingjing Jiang Shenghui Ma Nenghui Ye Ming Jiang Jiashu Cao Jianhua Zhang 2017Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2:75
2Polyamine Accumulation in Transgenic Tomato Enhances the Tolerance to High Temperature Stress显示文摘Polyamines play an important role in plant response to abiotic stress.S-adenosyl-l-methionine decarboxylase(SAMDC) is one of the key regulatory enzymes in the biosynthesis of polyamines.In order to better understand the effect of regulation of polyamine biosynthesis on the tolerance of high-temperature stress in tomato,SAMDC cDNA isolated from Saccharomyces cerevisiae was introduced into tomato genome by means of Agrobacterium tumefaciens through leaf disc transformation.Transgene and expression was confirmed by Southern and Northern blot analyses,respectively.Transgenic plants expressing yeast SAMDC produced 1.7-to 2.4-fold higher levels of spermidine and spermine than wild-type plants under high temperature stress,and enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity and the protection of membrane lipid peroxidation was also observed.This subsequently improved the efficiency of CO2 assimilation and protected the plants from high temperature stress,which indicated that the transgenic tomato presented an enhanced tolerance to high temperature stress(38℃) compared with wild-type plants.Our results demonstrated clearly that increasing polyamine biosynthesis in plants may be a means of creating high temperature-tolerant germplasm.Lin Cheng Yijing Zou Shuli Ding Jiajing Zhang Xiaolin Yu Jiashu Cao Gang Lu 2009Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,5:16
3A novel strong tracking finite-difference extended Kalman filter for nonlinear eye tracking显示文摘Non-intrusive methods for eye tracking are important for many applications of vision-based human computer interaction. However,due to the high nonlinearity of eye motion,how to ensure the robust-ness of external interference and accuracy of eye tracking poses the primary obstacle to the integration of eye movements into today's interfaces. In this paper,we present a strong tracking finite-difference extended Kalman filter algorithm,aiming to overcome the difficulty in modeling nonlinear eye tracking. In filtering calculation,strong tracking factor is introduced to modify a priori covariance matrix and improve the accuracy of the filter. The filter uses finite-difference method to calculate partial derivatives of nonlinear functions for eye tracking. 5A self-recovery fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication with superior localization显示文摘To address the problems of the inferior localization and high probability of false rejection in existing self-recovery fragile watermarking algorithms,this paper pro-poses a new self-recovery fragile watermarking scheme with superior localization,and further discusses the probability of false rejection (PFR) and the probability of false acceptance (PFA) of the proposed scheme. Moreover,four measurements are defined to evaluate the quality of a recovered image. In the proposed algorithm,the original image is divided into 2×2 blocks to improve localization precision and de-crease PFR under occurrence of random tampering. The PFR under occurrence of region tampering can be effectively decreased by randomly embedding the water-mark of each block in conjunction with a novel method of tamper detection. Com-pared with the current self-recovery fragile watermarking algorithms,the proposed scheme not only resolves the tamper detection problem of self-embedding water-marking,but also improves the robustness against the random tampering of self-embedding watermarking. 6A new real-time eye tracking based on nonlinear unscented Kalman filter for monitoring driver fatigue显示文摘A new scheme for driver fatigue detection is presented, which is based on the nonlinear unscented Kalman filter and eye tracking. Assuming a probability distribution than to approximate an arbitrary nonlinear function or transformation, eye nonlinear tracking can be achieved using an unscented transformation (UT), which adopts a set of deterministic sigma points to match the posterior probability density function of the eye movement. Driver fatigue can be detected using the percentage of eye closure (PERCLOS) framework in a realistic driving condition after the eye nonlinear tracking. This system was tested adequately in realistic driving environments with subjects of different genders, with/without glasses, in day/night driving, being commercial/noncommercial drivers, in continuous driving time, and under different road conditions. 7A fully automated centrifugal microfluidic system for sample-to-answer viral nucleic acid testing显示文摘The outbreak of virus-induced infectious diseases poses a global public-health challenge.Nucleic acid amplification testing(NAAT)enables early detection of pandemic viruses and plays a vital role in preventing onward transmission.However,the requirement of skilled operators,expensive instrumentation,and biosafety laboratories has hindered the use of NAAT for screening and diagnosis of suspected patients.Here we report development of a fully automated centrifugal microfluidic system with sample-in-answer-out capability for sensitive,specific,and rapid viral nucleic acid testing.The release of nucleic acids and the subsequent reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification(RT-LAMP)were integrated into the reaction units of a microfluidic disc.The whole processing steps such as injection of reagents,fluid actuation by rotation,heating and temperature control,and detection of fluorescence signals were carried out automatically by a customized instrument.We validate the centrifugal microfluidic system using oropharyngeal swab samples spiked with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)armored RNA particles.The estimated limit of detection for armored RNA particles is 2 copies per reaction,the throughput is 21 reactions per disc,and the assay sample-to-answer time is approximately 70 min.This enclosed and automated microfluidic system efficiently avoids viral contamination of aerosol,and can be readily adapted for virus detection outside the diagnostic laboratory.Fei Tian Chao Liu Jinqi Deng Ziwei Han Lu Zhang Qinghua Chen Jiashu Sun 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,10:4
8Plasticity of language pathways in patients with low-grade glioma A diffusion tensor imaging study显示文摘Knowledge of the plasticity of language pathways in patients with low-grade glioma is important for neurosurgeons to achieve maximum resection while preserving neurological function. The current study sought to investigate changes in the ventral language pathways in patients with low-grade glioma located in regions likely to affect the dorsal language pathways. The results revealed no significant difference in fractional anisotropy values in the arcuate fasciculus between groups or between hemispheres. However, fractional anisotropy and lateralization index values in the left inferior longitudinal fasciculus and lateralization index values in the left inferior fronto-occpital fasciculus were higher in patients than in healthy subjects. These results indicate plasticity of language pathways in patients with low-grade glioma. The ventral language pathways may perform more functions in patients than in healthy subjects. 9Intraoperative diffusion tensor imaging predicts the recovery of motor dysfunction after insular lesions显示文摘Insular lesions remain surgically challenging because of the need to balance aggressive resection and functional protection. Motor function deficits due to corticospinal tract injury are a common complication of surgery for lesions adjacent to the internal capsule and it is therefore essential to evaluate the corticospinal tract adjacent to the lesion. We used diffusion tensor imaging to evaluate the corticospinal tract in 89 patients with insular lobe lesions who underwent surgery in Chinese PLA General Hospital from February 2009 to May 2011. Postoperative motor function evaluation revealed that 57 patients had no changes in motor function, and 32 patients suffered motor dysfunction or aggravated motor dysfunction. Of the affected patients, 20 recovered motor function during the 6-12-month follow-up, and an additional 12 patients did not recover over more than 12 months of follow-up. Following reconstruction of the corticospinal tract, fractional anisotropy comparison demonstrated that preoperative, intraoperative and follow-up normalized fractional anisotropy in the stable group was higher than in the transient deficits group or the long-term deficits group. Compared with the transient deficits group, intraoperative normalized fractional anisotropy significantly decreased in the long-term deficits group. 10A digital authentication watermarking scheme for JPEG images with superior localization and security显示文摘The drawbacks of the current authentication watermarking schemes for JPEG images, which are inferior localization and the security flaws, are firstly analyzed in this paper. Then, two counterfeiting attacks are conducted on them. To overcome these drawbacks, a new digital authentication watermarking scheme for JPEG images with superior localization and security is proposed. Moreover, the probabilities of tamper detection and false detection are deduced under region tampering and collage attack separately. For each image block, the proposed scheme keeps four middle frequency points fixed to embed the watermark, and utilizes the rest of the DCT coefficients to generate 4 bits of watermark information. During the embedding process, each watermark bit is embedded in another image block that is selected by its corresponding secret key. Since four blocks are randomly selected for the watermark embedding of each block, the non-deterministic dependence among the image blocks is established so as to resist collage attack completely. At the receiver, according to judging of the extracted 4 bits of watermark information and the corresponding 9-neighbourhood system, the proposed scheme could discriminate whether the image block is tampered or not. Owing to the diminishing of false detection and the holding of tamper detection, we improve the accuracy of localization in the authentication process. 18Remote Three-Factor Authentication Protocol with Strong Robustness for Multi-Server Environment显示文摘If a user wants to acquire different network services from various application servers in a traditional single server environment,the user must register these servers separately and remember different usernames and passwords for different servers.To solve these problems,a lot of authentication schemes for multi-server environment have been proposed.Recently,Odelu and Das et al.proposed a secure multi-server authentication protocol based on smart card,biometric and elliptic curve cryptography(ECC) .We firstly analyze Odelu et al.'s scheme and find some flaws as follows:1) the scheme may suffer Denial of Service(Dos) attack and insider attack;2) The scheme doesn't have strong robustness because improper work of the register center(RC) may lead to the collapse of the whole system;3) There are some design flaws in this scheme.For example,the user cannot choose his/her identity randomly and the register center needs to maintain a data table.In order to solve these problems,this paper proposes a new secure three-factor authentication protocol for multi-server environment based on Chebyshev chaotic map and secure sketch algorithm.To verify the security of the proposed scheme,we simulate our scheme using BAN logic and Pro Verif tool.Through a thorough analysis,we can see that the proposed schemenot only has stronger security but also has less computation cost than Odelu et al.'s protocol.Min Zhang Jiashu Zhang Wenrong Tan 2017China Communications2017,14,6:1
