| 1 | Single-cell RNA-seq data analysis on the receptor ACE2 expression reveals the potential risk of different human organs vulnerable to 2019-nCoV infection显示文摘It has been known that,the novel coronavirus,2019-nCoV,which is considered similar to SARS-CoV,invades human cells via the receptor angiotensin converting enzyme II(ACE2).Moreover,lung cells that have ACE2 expression may be the main target cells during 2019-nCoV infection.However,some patients also exhibit non-respiratory symptoms,such as kidney failure,implying that 2019-nCoV could also invade other organs.To construct a risk map of different human organs,we analyzed the single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)datasets derived from major human physiological systems,including the respiratory,cardiovascular,digestive,and urinary systems.Through scRNA-seq data analyses,we identified the organs at risk,such as lung,heart,esophagus,kidney,bladder,and ileum,and located specific cell types(i.e.,type II alveolar cells(AT2),myocardial cells,proximal tubule cells of the kidney,ileum and esophagus epithelial cells,and bladder urothelial cells),which are vulnerable to 2019-nCoV infection.Based on the findings,we constructed a risk map indicating the vulnerability of different organs to 2019-nCoV infection.This study may provide potential clues for further investigation of the pathogenesis and route of 2019-nCoV infection. | Xin Zou Ke Chen Jiawei Zou Peiyi Han Jie Hao Zeguang Han | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,2: | 193 |
| 2 | Alfalfa-containing diets alter luminal microbiota structure and short chain fatty acid sensing in the caecal mucosa of pigs显示文摘Background: Pork produced by outdoor-reared pigs raised mostly on alfalfa pastures attracts increasing population of consumer from most of the world. In China, pigs were raised with alfalfa-containing diets to seek for good quality pork.However, the influence of dietary alfalfa involving high level of insoluble dietary fiber(IDF) on pig intestinal luminal microbiota composition remains unclear. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of alfalfa on luminal microbiota and short chain fatty acids(SCFA) production, and gene expressions involved in SCFA sensing, transporting and absorbing in pig caecal mucosa.Results: Twenty-four growing pigs were randomly allotted to four diets containing 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% alfalfa meal for a 28-d experiment. Ingestion of alfalfa meal-contained diets significantly increased the ratio of body weight gain to feed consumption. Illumina MiS eq sequencing of the V3 region of the 16 S r RNA genes showed that alfalfa-containing diet significantly decreased the relative abundance of genera Turicibacter, Acidiphilium, Paracoccus, Propionibacterium,Corynebacterium, Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, and Staphylococcus, and increased the relative abundance of genera Lachnospira, Marvinbryantia, and Desulfovibrio in the caecal digesta. Butyrate concentration was significantly increased in the hindgut by the supplementation of alfalfa meal in diets. | 3 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 5 | Chromosome-scale genome assembly of sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.)cv.Tieton obtained using long-read and Hi-C sequencing显示文摘Sweet cherry(Prunus avium)is an economically significant fruit species in the genus Prunus.However,in contrast to other important fruit trees in this genus,only one draft genome assembly is available for sweet cherry,which was assembled using only Illumina short-read sequences.The incompleteness and low quality of the current sweet cherry draft genome limit its use in genetic and genomic studies.A high-quality chromosome-scale sweet cherry reference genome assembly is therefore needed.A total of 65.05 Gb of Oxford Nanopore long reads and 46.24 Gb of Illumina short reads were generated,representing~190x and 136x coverage,respectively,of the sweet cherry genome.The final de novo assembly resulted in a phased haplotype assembly of 344.29 Mb with a contig N50 of 3.25 Mb.Hi-C scaffolding of the genome resulted in eight pseudochromosomes containing 99.59%of the bases in the assembled genome.Genome annotation revealed that more than half of the genome(59.40%)was composed of repetitive sequences,and 40,338 protein-coding genes were predicted,75.40%of which were functionally annotated.With the chromosomescale assembly,we revealed that gene duplication events contributed to the expansion of gene families for salicylic acid/jasmonic acid carboxyl methyltransferase and ankyrin repeat-containing proteins in the genome of sweet cherry.Four auxin-responsive genes(two GH3s and two SAURs)were induced in the late stage of fruit development,indicating that auxin is crucial for the sweet cherry ripening process.In addition,772 resistance genes were identified and functionally predicted in the sweet cherry genome.The high-quality genome assembly of sweet cherry obtained in this study will provide valuable genomic resources for sweet cherry improvement and molecular breeding. | Jiawei Wang Weizhen Liu Dongzi Zhu Po Hong Shizhong Zhang Shijun Xiao Yue Tan Xin Chen Li Xu Xiaojuan Zong Lisi Zhang Hairong Wei Xiaohui Yuan Qingzhong Liu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
| 6 | Towards converged, collaborative and co-automatic (3C) optical networks显示文摘The interconnection of all things is developing a new diagram of future information networks.However, it is difficult to realize future applications with only one single technique. Collaboration between multiple advanced techniques is leading the way for the development of future information networks. Optical communication is an enabling technique to achieve high speed, long reach, and low latency communication,which plays an important role on the transformation of information networks. To achieve these advantages that caters to the characteristics of future information networks, collaboration of multiple advanced techniques with optical, which is called 'optical plus X', could realize the vision of 'all things connected with networks'. In this paper, we focus on the collaboration between optical networks with other techniques,mainly discuss four representative aspects, which are 'optical plus IP', 'optical plus radio', 'optical plus computing', and 'optical plus AI'. We discuss the challenges, timely works, and developing trends. | 8 | Integrated DNA-based/biochemical screening for early diagnosis of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A (MEN2A)显示文摘Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A (MEN2A), a subtype of MEN2, is characterized by medullary thyroid cancer, pheochromocytoma, and primary hyperparathyroidism. A Han Chinese pedigree with MEN2A was investigated following confirmation of the proband's diagnosis by pathological findings and DNA/biochemical screening. DNA samples from 4 other family members were collected and exon 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16 and 18 of the RET proto-oncogene were sequenced and then analyzed. A missense mutation of TGG (Trp) to TGC (Cys) at codon 634 (the classic MEN2A mutation) in exon 11 of the RET gene was detected in 3 family members, including the proband. Sequencing data were compared with the human gene mutation database. Elevated serum calcitonin level was detected initially; medullary thyroid carcinoma was revealed in the 3 cases and adrenal pheochromocy-toma was also found in the proband. Elective operations were successfully performed on the adrenal and thyroid glands because of pheochromocytoma and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Our case study confirms that integrated DNA-based/biochemical screening is crucial for early diagnosis of MEN2A and is helpful in the screening of their relatives. | 9 | Optimization of Fermentation Conditions for Xylanase Production by Aspergillus niger NS-1显示文摘In this study,a xylanase-producing Aspergillus niger strain,NS-1,was screened and isolated from agricultural and forestry wastes. Based on single-factor experiments,the effects of different carbon sources,composite carbon sources,nitrogen sources,calcium carbonate concentrations,initial p H and surfactants on xylanase production by A. niger NS-1 were investigated. The results indicated that the most appropriate carbon source was corncobs; the best composite carbon source was corncobs + xylan,which was conducive to xylanase secretion; the most suitable nitrogen source was ammonium sulfate. Xylanase activity reached the highest in the medium added with 1. 5% calcium carbonate and SDS as a surfactant with an initial p H of 5. 0. | 10 | Direct observation of interlayer coherent acoustic phonon dynamics in bilayer and few-layer PtSe2显示文摘This work reports the real-time observation of the interlayer lattice vibrations in bilayer and few-layer PtSe_2 by means of the coherent phonon method. The layer-breathing mode and standing wave mode of the interlayer vibrations are found to coexist in such a kind of group-10 transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs). The interlayer breathing force constant standing for perpendicular coupling(per effective atom) is derived as 7.5 N/m,2.5 times larger than that of graphene. The interlayer shearing force constant is comparable to the interlayer breathing force constant, which indicates that PtSe2 has nearly isotropic interlayer coupling. The low-frequency Raman spectroscopy elucidates the polarization behavior of the layer-breathing mode that is assigned to have A1 g symmetry. The standing wave mode shows redshift with the increasing number of layers, which successfully determines the out-of-plane sound velocity of PtSe2 experimentally. Our results manifest that the coherent phonon method is a good tool to uncover the interlayer lattice vibrations, beyond the conventional Raman spectroscopy limit. | 12 | Enhancing low-temperature NH_(3)-SCR performance of Fe-Mn/CeO_(2)catalyst by Al_(2)O_(3)modification显示文摘In the work,supported catalysts of FeO_(x) and MnO_(x) co-supported on aluminum-modified CeO_(2)was synthesized for low-temperature NH_(3)-selective catalytic reduction(NH_(3)-SCR)of NO.Impressively,the SCR activity of the obtained catalyst is markedly influenced by the adding amount of Al and the appropriate Ce/Al molar ratio is 1/2.The activity tests demonstrate that Fe-Mn/Ce1 Al2 catalyst shows over 90%NO conversion at 75-250℃and exhibits better SO_(2)resistance compared to Fe-Mn/CeO_(2).Fe-Mn/Ce1 Al2 shows the expected physicochemical characters of the ideal catalyst including the larger surface and increased active reaction active sites by controlling the amount of Al doping.Also,the better catalytic activity is well correlated with the present advantaged surface adsorption oxygen species,Mn^(4+)species,Ce^(3+)species and the enhanced reducibility of Fe-Mn/Ce1 Al2,which is superior to the Fe-Mn/CeO_(2)catalyst.More importantly,we further demonstrate that the amount and strength of surface acid sites are improved by Al-doping and more active intermediates(monodentate nitrate)is generated during NH_(3)-SCR reaction.This work provides certain insight into the rational creation of simple and practical denitration catalyst environmental purification. | Lulu Li Jiawei Ji Wei Tan Wang Song Xin Wang Xiaoqian Wei Kai Guo Wanyu Zhang Changjin Tang Lin Dong | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,9: | 2 |
| 13 | Efficient nitrogen doped porous carbonaceous CO_(2) adsorbents based on lotus leaf显示文摘In this work, the waste biomass lotus leaf was converted into N-doped porous carbonaceous CO_(2) adsorbents. The synthesis process includes carbonization of lotus leaf, melamine post-treatment and KOH activation. For the resultant sorbents, high nitrogen content can be contained due to the melamine modification and advanced porous structure were formed by KOH etching. These samples were carefully characterized by different techniques and their CO_(2) adsorption properties were investigated in detail. These sorbents hold good CO_(2) adsorption abilities, up to 3.87 and 5.89 mmol/g at 25 and 0 °C under 1 bar, respectively. By thorough investigation, the combined interplay of N content and narrow microporous volume was found to be responsible for the CO_(2) uptake for this series of sorbents. Together with the high CO_(2) adsorption abilities, these carbons also display excellent reversibility, high CO_(2)/N 2 selectivity, applicable heat of adsorption, fast CO_(2) adsorption kinetics and good dynamic CO_(2) adsorption capacity. This study reveals a universal method of obtaining N-doped porous carbonaceous sorbents from leaves.
