| 1 | Spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the Three-River Headwaters Region during 2000-2011显示文摘The Three-River Headwaters Region(TRHR), which is the source area of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Lancang River, is of key importance to the ecological security of China. Because of climate changes and human activities, ecological degradation occurred in this region. Therefore, 'The nature reserve of Three-River Source Regions' was established, and 'The project of ecological protection and construction for the Three-River Headwaters Nature Reserve' was implemented by the Chinese government. This study, based on MODIS-NDVI and climate data, aims to analyze the spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the TRHR between 2000 and 2011, from three dimensions. Linear regression, Hurst index analysis, and partial correlation analysis were employed. The results showed the following:(1) In the past 12 years(2000–2011), the NDVI of the study area increased, with a linear tendency being 1.2%/10a, of which the Yangtze and Yellow River source regions presented an increasing trend, while the Lancang River source region showed a decreasing trend.(2) Vegetation coverage presented an obvious spatial difference in the TRHR, and the NDVI frequency was featured by a bimodal structure.(3) The area with improved vegetation coverage was larger than the degraded area, being 64.06% and 35.94%, respectively during the study period, and presented an increasing trend in the north and a decreasing trend in the south.(4) The reverse characteristics of vegetation coverage change are significant. | 3 | Additive and Over-dominant Effects Resulting from Epistatic Loci Are the Primary Genetic Basis of Heterosis in Rice显示文摘A set of 148 F9 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) was developed from the cross of an indica cultivar 93-11 and japonica cultivar DT713,showing strong F1 heterosis.Subsequently,two backcross F1(BCF1) populations were constructed by backcrossing these 148 RILs to two parents,93-11 and DT713.These three related populations(281BCF1 lines,148 RILs) were phenotyped for six yield-related traits in two locations.Significant inbreeding depression was detected in the population of RILS and a high level of heterosis was observed in the two BCF1 populations.A total of 42 main-effect quantitative trait loci(M-QTLs) and 109 epistatic effect QTL pairs(E-QTLs) were detected in the three related populations using the mixed model approach.By comparing the genetic effects of these QTLs detected in the RILs,BCF1 performance and mid-parental heterosis(HMP),we found that,in both BCF1 populations,the QTLs detected could be classified into two predominant types:additive and over-dominant loci,which indicated that the additive and over-dominant effect were more important than complete or partially dominance for M-QTLs and E-QTLs.Further,we found that the E-QTLs detected collectively explained a larger portion of the total phenotypic variation than the M-QTLs in both RILs and BCF1 populations.All of these results suggest that additive and over-dominance resulting from epistatic loci might be the primary genetic basis of heterosis in rice. | Xiaojin Luo Yongcai Fu Peijiang Zhang Shuang Wu Feng Tian Jiayong Liu Zuofeng Zhu Jinshui Yang Chuanqing Sun | 2009 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,4: | 20 |
| 4 | First-principles calculation of dehydrogenating properties of MgH_2-V systems显示文摘Based on experimental results in which VH0.81/MgH2 interface was found during the process of mechanically milling MgH2+5at%V nanocomposite, a VH/MgH2 in- terface is designed and constituted in this work. A first-principles plane-wave pseudopo- tential method based on Density Functional Theory (DFT) has been used to investigate the vanadium alloying effects on the dehydrogenating properties of magnesium hydride, i.e., MgH2. A low absolute value of the negative heat of formation of VH/MgH2 interface compared with that of MgH2 indicates that vanadium hydrides befit to improve the dehydrogenating properties of MgH2. Based on the analysis of the density of states (DOS) and the total valence electron density distribution of MgH2 before and after V alloying, it was found that the improvement of the dehydrogenating properties of MgH2 caused by V alloying originates from the increasing of the valence electrons at Fermi level (EF) and the decreasing of the HOMO-LUMO gap ( Δ E H ?L) after V alloying. | 6 | Crustal Structure Revealed by a Deep Seismic Sounding Profile of Baijing-Gaoming-Jinwan in the Pearl River Delta显示文摘The Pearl River Estuary area, located in the middle part of the southern China coastal seismic belt, has long been considered a potential source of strong earthquakes above magnitude 7.0. To scientifically assess the potential strong earthquake risk in this area, a three-dimensional artificial seismic sounding experiment, consisting of a receiving array and seabed seismograph, was performed to reveal the deep crustal structure in this region. We used artificial ship-borne air-gun excitation shots as sources, and fixed and mobile stations as receivers to record seismic data from May to August 2015. This paper presents results along a line from the western side of the Pearl River Estuary to the western side of the Baijing-Gaoming-Jinwan profile. A two-dimensional velocity structure was constructed using seismic travel-time tomography. The inversion results show that the Moho depth is 27 km in the coastal area and 30 km in the northwest of the Pearl River Estuary area, indicating that the crust thins from land to sea. Two structural discontinuities and multiple low-velocity anomalies appear in the crustal section. Inside both discontinuity zones, a low-velocity layer, with a minimum velocity of 6.05 km s^(-1), exists at a depth of about 15 km, and another, with a minimum velocity of 6.37 km s^(-1), exists at a depth of about 21.5 km between the middle and lower crust. These low velocities suggest that the discontinuities may consist of partly molten material. Earthquakes with magnitudes higher than 5.0 occurred in the low-velocity layer along the profile. | 7 | Application of a novel backwashing process in upflow biological aerated filter显示文摘To improve the efficiency of backwashing in upflow biological aerated filter (BAF), a novel backwashing process named air-water siphon backwashing (AWSB) was proposed and applied on laboratory scale. The effects of backwashing on turbidity and suspended solid (SS) in backwashing efluent using this new backwashing process were compared with those of traditional backwashing process, namely air-water backwashing (AWB). In AWB, the turbidity of backwashing efluent maintained 100 NUT when consumed 60 min and 10.5 L water. However, in AWSB, it declined to 44 NUT, consumed 40 min, and 7 L water. The COD removal of BAF after backwashing was also analyzed. The average removal rate of COD in the reactor backwashed by AWB and AWSB was 89.34% and 90.91%, respectively. Compared with AWB, the backwashing interval had been prolonged 35%. The volume of backwashing water in that AWSB was only 66.7% of that in AWB. The results demonstrated that AWSB required less water and took shorter backwashing time relative to AWB to achieve the same turbidity of backwashing efluent, and AWSB was more effective in removing fouling than that of AWB. | 8 | Contribution of atmospheric nitrogen deposition to diffuse pollution in a typical hilly red soil catchment in southern China显示文摘Atmospheric nitrogen(N) deposition is currently high and meanwhile diffuse N pollution is also serious in China. The correlation between N deposition and riverine N export and the contribution of N deposition to riverine N export were investigated in a typical hilly red soil catchment in southern China over a two-year period. N deposition was as high as 26.1 to55.8 kg N/(ha·yr) across different land uses in the studied catchment, while the riverine N exports ranged from 7.2 to 9.6 kg N/(ha·yr) in the forest sub-catchment and 27.4 to30.3 kg N/(ha·yr) in the agricultural sub-catchment. The correlations between both wet N deposition and riverine N export and precipitation were highly positive, and so were the correlations between NH4+-N or NO3--N wet deposition and riverine NH4+-N or NO3--N exports except for NH4+-N in the agricultural sub-catchment, indicating that N deposition contributed to riverine N export. The monthly export coefficients of atmospheric deposited N from land to river in the forest sub-catchment(with a mean of 14%) presented a significant positive correlation with precipitation, while the monthly contributions of atmospheric deposition to riverine N export(with a mean of 18.7% in the agricultural sub-catchment and a mean of 21.0% in the whole catchment) were significantly and negatively correlated with precipitation. | 10 | Soil phosphorus availability and rice phosphorus uptake in paddy fields under various agronomic practices显示文摘Agronomic practices affect soil phosphorus(P) availability, P uptake by plants, and subsequently the efficiency of P use. A field experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of various agronomic practices(straw incorporation, paddy water management, nitrogen(N) fertilizer dose, manure application,and biochar addition) on soil P availability(e.g., soil total P(STP), soil available P(SAP), soil microbial biomass P(SMBP), and rice P uptake as well as P use efficiency(PUE)) over four cropping seasons in a rice-rice cropping system, in subtropical central China. Compared to the non-straw treatment(control,using full dose of chemical N fertilizer), straw incorporation increased SAP and SMBP by 9.3%–18.5% and 15.5%–35.4%, respectively;substituting half the chemical N fertilizer dose with pig manure and the biochar application increased STP, SAP, and SMBP by 10.5%–48.3%, 30.2%–236.0%, and 19.8%–72.4%,respectively, mainly owing to increased soil P and organic carbon inputs;adding a half dose of N and no N input(reduced N treatments) increased STP and SAP by 2.6%–7.5% and 19.8%–33.7%, respectively, due to decreased soil P outputs. Thus, soil P availability was greatly affected by soil P input and use. The continuous flooding water regime without straw addition significantly decreased SMBP by 11.4% compared to corresponding treatments under a mid-season drainage water regime. Total P uptake by rice grains and straws at the harvest stage increased under straw incorporation and under pig manure application, but decreased under the reduced N treatments and under biochar application at a rate of 48 t ha-1, compared to the control. Rice P uptake was significantly positively correlated with rice biomass, and both were positively correlated with N fertilizer application rates, SAP, SMBP, and STP. Phosphorus use efficiency generally increased under straw incorporation but decreased under the reduced N treatments and under the manure application(with excessive P input), compared to the control. These results showed that straw incorporation can be used to increase soil P availability and PUE while decreasing the use of chemical P fertilizers. | 11 | Diagenesis and Diagenetic Evolution of Deltaic and Neritic Gas-Bearing Sandstones in the Lower Mingyuefeng Formation of Paleogene, Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin: Implications for Depositional Environments and Sequence Stratigraphy Controls显示文摘Gas-bearing deposits in the Lower Mingyuefeng Formation of Paleogene, Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin consist of shoreface sandstones of the highstand systems tract(HST) and transgressive systems tract(TST), and deltaic sandstones of the lowstand systems tract(LST) and falling stage systems tract(FSST).Detailed petrographic observations suggest that the diagenetic features and related evolution of these deposits cannot be simply characterized and demonstrated in the depth domain.However, the occurrence of diagenetic minerals systematically depends on the studied interval within the HST, TST, LST, and FSST; therefore, diagenesis in this region can be better constrained when studied in the context of the depositional environments and sequence stratigraphic framework.The eogenetic processes in such settings include:(1) microcrystalline siderite precipitated as concretions in almost all environments and systems tracts, which inhibited further mechanical compaction;(2) grain dissolution and kaolinitization occurred in shoreface HST sandstones and deltaic LST and FSST sandstones;(3) glaucony was locally observed, which did not clearly reflect the controls of facies or sequence stratigraphy; and(4) cementation by pyrite aggregates occurred in the shoreface HST sandstones and deltaic LST sandstones.The mesogenetic diagenesis includes:(1) partial conversion of kaolinite into dickite in deltaic LST sandstones, and minor chlorite cementation in deltaic FSST sandstones;(2) transformation of kaolinite into illite and quartz cementation in deltaic LST and FSST sandstones;(3) frequent precipitation of ankerite and ferroan calcite in shoreface TST sandstones and early HST sandstones, forming baffles and barriers for fluid flow, with common calcite in shoreface HST sandstones as a late diagenetic cement; and(4) formation of dawsonite in the deltaic LST and FSST sandstones, which is interpreted to be a product of the invasion of a CO2-rich fluid, and acts as a good indicator of CO2-bearing reservoirs.This study has thus constructed a reliable conceptual model to describe the spatial and temporal distribution of diagenetic alterations.The results may provide an entirely new conceptual framework and methodology for successful gas exploration in the continental margins of offshore China, thus allowing us to predict and unravel the distribution and quality evolution of clastic reservoirs at a more detailed and reliable scale. | XU Fa ZHANG Penghui ZHANG Jinliang LIU Jinshui HOU Guowei ZHANG Ming LI Jingzhe LIU Shasha GUO Jiaqi MENG Ningning | 2015 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2015,89,5: | 5 |
| 12 | Quality prediction of freshly-harvested wheat using Gluto Peak during postharvest maturation显示文摘Much recent researches have demonstrated that the quality of freshly-harvested wheat could be improved during postharvest maturation by determinating the rheological properties.However,this process is time-consuming and complex.This study aimed to provide a rapid and convenient method for predicting wheat quality during postharvest maturation by use of Gluto Peak device.Farinograph and Extensograph were used to determine the rheological properties of four wheat samples(WT1,WT2,WT3,WT4)stored under different conditions(WT1:15℃,50%RH;WT2:20℃65%RH;WT3:28℃75%RH;WT4:35℃85%RH)for a total of 10 weeks,and Gluto Peak test was used to determine the gluten aggregation properties of the four samples.Correlation analysis was also conducted between the rheological properties and the gluten aggregation properties.Results of rheological properties showed that all Extensographic properties(dough extensibility,resistance,maximum resistance and area)of the four samples increased along with the storage time,and the Farinographic properties(water absorption,dough development time,dough stability time,and farinograph quality number(FQN))had the same tendency,indicating that the rheological properties were improved considerably with storage time extending.The Gluto Peak curves revealed that Peak Maximum Time(PMT),Brabender Equivalents Maximum(BEM)and Energy to Maximum Torque(En MT)of wheat flour of the four samples varied greatly,particularly the PMT and En MT of the samples WT3 and WT4 increased remarkably.Results of correlation analysis showed that En MT had significant correlation with water absorption and area(P<0.05)for sample WT1,and also showed significant correlation with dough development time(P<0.05)for sample WT2.For sample WT3,PMT was significantly correlated with the dough development time,extensibility,area(P<0.05),and FQN(P<0.01);and En MT was in significant correction with water absorption(P<0.01),and dough stability time,FQN,extensibility,maximum resistance and area(P<0.05).For sample WT4,both PMT and En MT had significant correction with area(P<0.05).The study indicated that the Gluto Peak test is effective in quality prediction for the freshly-harvested wheat during postharvest maturation,making it possible to realize rapid wheat quality detection and evaluation in storage period. | Mengyu Mu Ruidie Geng Yuanyuan Yue Feng Jia Xia Zhang Jinshui Wang | 2021 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4: | 5 |
| 13 | Isolation and identification of genes expressed differentially in rice inflorescence meristem with suppression subtractive hybridization显示文摘A subtracted cDNA library of rice (Oryza sativa L.) inflorescence meristem (IM) was constructed using the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) method. The cDNAs of the rice shoot apical meristem (SAM) were used as 'driver' and inflorescence meristem (IM) as 'tester' in the experiment, respectively. Forty of 250 randomly chosen cDNA clones were identified by differential screening, which were IM-specific or IM-highly expressed. Most of the rice IM cDNAs cloned by SSH appear to represent rare transcripts, 40% of which were derived from truly differentially expressed genes. | 15 | Geochemistry of the Paleocene Clastic Rocks in Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin: Implications for Tectonic Background and Provenance显示文摘The Lishui Sag,in the East China Sea Shelf Basin,is rich in hydrocarbons,with the major hydrocarbon-bearing layers being the Paleocene Mingyuefeng clastic rocks.Analysis of the implicit geologic background information of these Paleocene clastic rocks using petrological and geochemical methods has significant practical importance.These Paleocene sandstones are mainly lithic arenite,lithic arkose and greywacke,composed of K-feldspar,plagioclase,authigenic clays,silica and carbonates.As continental deposits,Yueguifeng clastic rocks have high aluminosilicate and mafic detritus contents,while the Lingfeng and Mingyuefeng Formations are rich in silica due to an oscillating coastal marine depositional environment The major element contents of these Paleocene sandstones are low and have a concentrated distribution,indicating that the geochemical composition is non-epigenetic,transformed by sedimentary processes and diagenesis.The Yueguifeng detritus comprises recycled sediments,controlled by moderate weathering and erosion,while the Lingfeng and Mingyuefeng detritus is interpreted as primarily first-cycle materials due to low chemical weathering.In the Late Cretaceous to Early Paleocene,the Pacific Plate began subducting under the Eurasian Plate,causing an orogeny by plate collision and magma eruption due to the melting of subducted oceanic crust.This resulted in the dual tectonic settings of'active margin'and'continental island arc'in the East China Sea Shelf Basin.During the Late Paleocene,the Pacific Plate margin migrated eastward along with development of the Philippine Ocean Plate,and the tectonic setting of the Lishui Sag gradually turned into a passive continental margin.Detrital sources included both orogenic continental blocks and continental island arcs,and the parent rocks are primarily felsic volcanic rocks and granites. | LI Deyong JIANG Xiaodian XU Fa LIU Jinshui HOU Guowei | 2016 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,1: | 4 |
| 16 | Progress and challenges in blocked impurity band infrared detectors for space-based astronomy显示文摘Astronomical detection at infrared wavelengths is crucial in astrophysics due to the critical information in this wavelength range.Blocked impurity band(BIB) infrared detectors are desirable for space-based astronomical observation due to their broad response range, low dark currents, high quantum efficiencies, and excellent radiation resistance. In this review, typical BIB device structures and device physics development are first introduced. Subsequently, we discuss progress in Si-based BIB detectors with different doping types and emphasize their applications in space-based infrared detection. Additionally, we discuss recent efforts on pixel performance optimization, response extension, and higher operating temperature devices. | 17 | The gravity field and crustal thickness of Venus显示文摘The gravity and topography of Venus obtained from observations of the Magellan mission, as well as the gravity and topography from our numerical mantle convection model, are discussed in this paper. We used the hypothesis that the geoid of degrees 2–40 is produced by sublithospheric mantle density anomalies that are associated with dynamical process within the mantle. We obtained the model dynamical admittance(the geoid topography ratio based on a convection model) by a numerical simulation of the Venusian mantle convection, and used it to correct the dynamical effect in the calculation of crustal thickness. After deducting the dynamical effect, the thickness of the Venusian crust is presented. The results show that the gravity and topography are strongly correlated with the Venusian mantle convection and the Venusian crust has a significant influence on the topography. The Venusian crustal thickness varies from 28 to 70 km. Ishtar Terra, and Ovda Regio and Thetis Regio in western Aphrodite Terra have the highest crustal thickness(larger than 50 km). The high topography of these areas is thought to be supported by crustal compensation and our results are consistent with the hypothesis that these areas are remnants of ancient continents. The crustal thickness in the Beta, Themis, Dione, Eistla, Bell, and Lada regiones is thin and shows less correlation with the topography, especially in the Atla and Imdr regiones in the eastern part of Aphrodite Terra. This is consistent with the hypothesis that these highlands are mainly supported by mantle plumes. | 18 | Effects of Sourdough Addition on the Quality and Shelf Life of Chinese Steamed Bread显示文摘The effect of adding sourdough with lactic acid bacteria(Lactobacillus plantarum M616) on dough quality and the sensory scores, specific volume, crumb firmness, and spread ratio of resultant Chinese steamed bread were studied. The moisture content of crumb and texture characteristics of the Chinese steamed bread with sourdough during storage were analyzed. In this study, 10%,20%, 30%, and 40% of sourdough addition was investigated. The sourdough starter resulted in significant decrease in the water absorption, development time, stability, and farinograph quality number of the dough. The addition of sourdough improved the quality of Chinese steamed bread such as improving the sensory scores and specific volume, decreasing the crumb firmness, and a lower spread ratio was observed with an increase in the sourdough concentration up to 30%. Sourdough addition delayed a fast decrease in the moisture content of the Chinese steamed bread crumb during storage. | 19 | Study on hydrogen atom adsorption and diffusion properties on Mg (0001) surface显示文摘Hydrogen atom adsorption and diffusion properties on clean and vacancy defective Mg (0001) surface have been investigated systematically by using a first-principles calculations method based on the density functional theory. The calculation results of adsorption energy and diffusion energy barrier show that hydrogen atom is apt to be adsorbed at fcc and hcp sites on clean Mg (0001) surface, and fcc adsorption site is found to be more preferred. The highest diffusion energy barrier is estimated as 0.6784 eV for the diffusion of hydrogen from clean Mg (0001) surface into its bulk. Surface effects, which affect hydrogen diffusion obviously, results in a slow diffusion velocity of hydrogen from surface to subsurface, while a fast one from subsurface to bulk, indicating the range of surface effects is only restricted within two topmost layers of Mg (0001) surface. Comparatively, Mg atom vacancy on Mg (0001) surface not only enhances the chemisorption interaction between H and Mg surface, but also benefits H atom diffusion in Mg bulk with relatively more diffusion paths compared with that of clean surface. Besides, hydrogen atom is found to occupy mostly the tetrahedral interstice when it diffuses into the Mg bulk. Further analysis of the density of states (DOS) shows that the system for hydrogen atom to be adsorbed at fcc site has a lower DOS value (N (EF)) at Fermi level and more bonding elec- trons at the energy range blow the Fermi level of H/Mg (0001) system as compared with that at hcp site. | 20 | Improving the cycle stability of FeCl3-graphite intercalation compounds by polar Fe2O3 trapping in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘FeCI3-intercalated graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) with high reversible capacity and high volumetric energy density are attractive anode material alternatives of commercial graphite. However, the rapid capacity decay, which was induced by chloride dissolution and shuttling issues, hindered their practical application. To address this problem, here, we introduce flake-like Fe2O3 species with inherently polar surface on the edge of FeCl3 -intercalated GICs through microwave-assisted transformation of a fraction of FeCl3 component. Theoretical simulations and physical/electrochemical studies demonstrate that the introduced Fe2O3 component can afford sufficient polar active sites for chemically bonding the soluble FeCl3 and LiCl species based on the polar-polar interaction mechanism, further inhibiting the outward diffusion of the chlorides and immobilizing them within the GIC material. In a lithium ion cell, the FeCl3 -intercalated GIC with a suitable Fe2O3 content shows remarkably improved cycling stability with a high reversible capacity of 1,041 mAh·g^-1 at a current density of 200 mA·g^-1. Capacity retention of 91 % is achieved at a high current density of 1,000 mA·g^-1 over 300 cycles.
