1Degradation potential of ofloxacin and its resulting transformation products during Fenton oxidation process显示文摘The degradation of ofloxacin(OFX)in the aqueous solution by Fenton oxidation process was investigated in the present study.The optimum operating conditions for the degradation of OFX in our system was determined.More importantly,the degradation pathways on a basis of the identification of transformation products during the degradation of OFX were proposed,which revealed that the initial degradation step could be associated with the decarboxylation at the quinolone moiety.Moreover,the detachment of the F element during the Fenton oxidation process has also been detected.Since the carboxylic group within OFX has been considered as an important bridge for binding quinolones with the DNA gyrase target,the decarboxylation process would offer insights into the reduction of antibacterial potentials.Yunqing Pi Jinglan Feng Mengke Song Jianhui Sun 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,21:10
2The role of sediment resuspension duration in releaseof PAHs显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are ubiquitous environmental pollutants. Due to their low water solubility and high hydrophobicity, PAHs are rapidly sorbed onto particles and subsequently deposit in sediments once introduced into aquatic environment. In such a way, sediments become a huge sink for PAHs. During sediment resuspension, the potential exists for PAHs to be released from sediments into water. Sediment resuspension plays an important role in the transportation and fate of PAHs in the aquatic environment. In this study, release behavior of PAHs on Yangtze River sediment during resuspension was investigated using a particle entrainment simulator (PES). The role of re- suspension duration on release of 16 PAHs was measured by resuspending sediment for 12 h at 0.2 and 0.5 N/m2, respectively. Results indicated that PAH concentrations in TSS increase over time with more increase of phenanthrene and 4-ring PAHs. Comparing with 0.2 N/m2 (30%), ∑PAHs concentra- tions in TSS demonstrated remarkable increase during 0.5 N/m2 resuspension (37%). Dissolved PAH concentrations increased throughout the duration with more increase of 2―3 ring PAHs (50%―88%). Dissolved PAH concentrations showed remarkable increase during 0.5 N/m2 resuspension (50%). 3Metals in water and surface sediments from Henan reaches of the Yellow River,China显示文摘The concentrations of Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,Pb and Zn were determined in the water and surface sediments from the Henan reaches of the Yellow River.Twenty-three sampling sites along the Yellow River and its tributaries were selected.Generally,metal concentrations were found to decrease in sequences of Zn>Cu>Pb>Cr>Ni>Cd in water and Zn>Cr>Pb>Ni>Cu>Cd in sediments.High levels of metal concentration were determined at a few stations of the river and its tributaries,such as Yiluo River,Si River and Qin River.The pollution of the Yellow River by Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,Pb and Zn can be regarded as much higher compared to the background values,US EPA criteria(1999) and China water quality criteria(2002) .For sediments,metal lev-els except Pb did not significantly exceed the average shale levels and backgrounds in several countries including China.Data analysis manifests that positive correlations were found between Cu,Ni and Zn in water,and Pb,Ni,Zn and Cr in sediments. The Pearson correlation coefficient analysis and Cluster analysis were provided to assess the possible contamination sources. 4Underwater gas self-transportation along femtosecond laser-written open superhydrophobic surface microchannels(<100μm)for bubble/gas manipulation显示文摘Underwater transportation of bubbles and gases has essential applications in manipulating and using gas,but achieving this function at the microscopic level remains a significant challenge.Here,we report a strategy to self-transport gas in water along a laser-induced open superhydrophobic microchannel with a width less than 100μm.The femtosecond laser can directly write superhydrophobic and underwater superaerophilic microgrooves on the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)surfaces.In water,the single laser-induced microgroove and water medium generate a hollow microchannel.When the microchannel connects two superhydrophobic regions in water,the gas spontaneously travels from the small region to the large area along this hollow microchannel.Gas self-transportation can be extended to laser-drilled microholes through a thin PTFE sheet,which can even achieve anti-buoyancy unidirectional penetration.The gas can overcome the bubble’s buoyance and spontaneously travel downward.The Laplace pressure difference drives the processes of spontaneous gas transportation and unidirectional bubble passage.We believe the property of gas self-transportation in the femtosecond laser-structured open superhydrophobic and underwater superaerophilic microgrooves/microholes has significant potential applications related to manipulating underwater gas.Jiale Yong Qing Yang Jinglan Huo Xun Hou Feng Chen 2022International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2022,4,1:3
5Degradation of the antibiotic sulfamonomethoxine sodium in aqueous solution by photo-Fenton oxidation显示文摘In this study, photo-Fenton oxidation was applied to degradation of sulfamonomethoxine sodium (SMMS) in aqueous solution. The operation parameters of pH, temperature, and concentrations of H2O2, Fe2+ and SMMS were investigated. The optimum conditions for the photo-Fenton process were determined as follows: [SMMS]=4.53 mg/L, pH 4.0, [H2O2]=0.49 mmol/L, [Fe2+]= 19.51 μmol/L and T=25°C. Under these conditions 98.5% of the SMMS degraded. The kinetics were also studied, and degradation of SMMS by the photo-Fenton process could be described by first-order kinetics. The apparent activation energy was calculated as 23.95 kJ/mol. Mineralization of the process was investigated by measuring the chemical oxygen demand (COD), and the COD decreased by 99% after 120 min. 16Construction of defect-containing UiO-66/MoSe_(2) heterojunctions with superior photocatalytic performance for wastewater treatment and mechanism insight显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks are recognized as promising multifunctional materials,especially metal-organic framework-based photocatalysts,which are considered to be ideal photocatalytic materials.Herein,a new type of UiO-66/MoSe_(2) composite was prepared using the solvothermal method.The optimum composite was selected by adjusting the mass ratio of UiO-66 and MoSe_(2).X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the mass ratio influenced the crystal plane exposure rate of the composite,which may have affected its photocatalytic performance.The composite is composed of ultra-thin flower-like MoSe_(2) that wrapped around cubic UiO-66,a structure that increases the abundance of active sites for reactions and is more conducive to the separation of carriers.The photocatalytic properties of the composite were evaluated by measuring the degradation rate of Rhodamine B and the catalyst’s ability to reduce Cr(VI)-containing wastewater under visible light irradiation.Rhodamine B was decolorized completely in 120 min,and most of the Cr(VI)was reduced within 150 min.The photochemical mechanism of the complex was studied in detail.The existence of Mo^(6+)and oxygen vacancies,in addition to the Z-type heterojunction promote the separation of electrons and holes,which enhances the photocatalytic effect.Xiao Han Xiaoxuan Wang Jiafang Wang Yingjie Xie Cuiwei Du Chongfei Yu Jinglan Feng Jianhui Sun Shuying Dong 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,4:0
