1Differential expression of immune-related genes between healthy volunteers and type 2 diabetic patients with spleen-deficiency pattern显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical differentiation of spleen-deficiency pattern(SDP), a group of symptoms and signs defined in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine for its clinical practice.METHODS: Peripheral venous blood(> 3 m L) was collected from each of six type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)-SDP patients and six healthy volunteers. After the isolation of peripheral white blood cells(PWBCs), total RNA was extracted, and quality control was performed on all RNA samples. Microarray experiments were conducted using the Agilent human whole genome gene chip, and genes demonstrating differential expression were screened. Bioinformatics analysis was conducted on these genes using several online databases.RESULTS: We screened a total of 175 differentially expressed genes(DEGs), of which 111(63%) were down-regulated and 64(37%) were up-regulated in T2DM-SDP patients compared with healthy controls. Among the 175 genes, 158 had biological function annotations: 46(29%) were directly related to an individual's immune regulation or response, 25(16%) were associated with substance and energy metabolism of PWBCs which could also indirectly influence immunity, and the remaining87(55%) were involved in a variety of PWBC biological processes that might eventually influence the immune function. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis revealed that the DEGs were predominantly enriched in seven immune-related pathways. Hierarchical cluster analysis identified gene expression patterns that were distinguishable between the two study groups.CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that T2DM-SDP patients experience significant hypoimmunity and/or immune dysfunctions, and possess a specific gene expression profile. 2Phase evolution of(K,Na)NbO_3 powder prepared by high temperature mixing under hydrothermal conditions显示文摘(Na,K)NbO3(KNN)powders were successfully prepared by high temperature mixing method(HTMM) under hydrothermal conditions to study the effect of reaction time on the formation of KNN for three K+/(K++Na+)ratios of 0.6,0.7 and 0.8.The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and selected area electron diffraction(SAED),to show the change of phase and morphology of the as-prepared particles with the K+/(K++Na+)molar ratio in the solution.Pure Na-rich KNN monoclinic phase and pure K-rich KNN orthorhombic phase could be obtained quickly after mixing the solutions at high temperature when the K+/(K++Na+)molar ratio was either 0.6 or 0.8.When the K+/(K++Na+)molar ratio was 0.7,however,the K-rich KNN orthorhombic phase grain formed first,followed by the Na-rich KNN monoclinic phase grain,with the two phases coexisting in the final product.Lin Bai Kongjun Zhu Jinhao Qiu Hongli Ji Likui Su 2010Particuology2010,8,5:1
3Near-infrared chemiluminescent carbon nanogels for oncology imaging and therapy显示文摘Carbon nanogels(CNGs)with dual ability of reactive oxygen species(ROS)imaging and photodynamic therapy have been designed with selfassembled chemiluminescent carbonized polymer dots(CPDs).With efficient deep-red/near-infrared chemiluminescence(CL)emission and distinctive photodynamic capacity,the H2O2-driven chemiluminescent CNGs are further designed by assembling the polymeric conjugate and CL donors,enabling an in vitro and in vivo ROS bioimaging capability in animal inflammation models and a high-performance therapy for xenograft tumors.Mechanistically,ROS generated in inflammatory sites or tumor microenvironment can trigger the chemically initiated electron exchange luminescence in the chemical reaction of peroxalate and H2O2,enabling in vivo CL imaging.Meanwhile,part of the excited-state electrons will transfer to the ambient H2O or dissolved oxygen and in turn lead to the type I and type II photochemical ROS production of hydroxyl radicals or singlet oxygen,endowing the apoptosis of tumor cells and thus enabling cancer therapy.These results open up a new avenue for the design of multifunctional nanomaterials for bioimaging and antienoplastic agents.Chenglong Shen Tianci Jiang Qing Lou Wenbo Zhao Chaofan Lv Guangsong Zheng Hangrui Liu Pengfei Li Lingling Dai Kaikai Liu Jinhao Zang Feng Wang Lin Dong Songnan Qu Zhe Cheng Chongxin Shan 2022SmartMat2022,3,2:1
4Pressure-induced photoluminescence enhancement and ambient retention in confined carbon dots显示文摘Piezochromic luminescent materials have shown great potential in advanced optoelectronic applications.However,most of luminescent materials usually undergo emission quenching under external stimuli.Herein,we demonstrate for the first time that the photoluminescence of carbon dots(CDs)confined within sodium hydroxide can be enhanced when high pressure is applied.They exhibit a 1.6-fold fluorescence enhancement compared with pristine CDs.Importantly,the enhanced fluorescence intensity can be retained after the release of pressure to ambient conditions.A combination of experimental analysis and theoretical simulations indicates that such an enhanced emission is mainly attributed to the strong confinement resulting from the sodium hydroxide matrix,which can separate the CDs spatially and restrict the nonradiative pathway.These results provide a rational strategy for manipulating the optical properties of CDs with enhanced and retainable photoluminescence(PL)performance,thus opening up a venue for designing luminescent CDs-based materials.Qing Lou Xigui Yang Kaikai Liu Zhongzheng Ding Jinxu Qin Yizhe Li Chaofan Lv Yuan Shang Yuewen Zhang Zhuangfei Zhang Jinhao Zang Lin Dong Chong-Xin Shan 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:1

6Stability of potentially toxic elements in municipal sludge biochars modified by MgCl2 and phosphate显示文摘Municipal wastewater sludge can be pyrolyzed as biochars to better use nutrients and stabilize carbon compared with other typical technologies,such as landfill and incineration.However,sludge-derived biochars might contain large amounts of potentially toxic elements(PTEs),such as Zn,Cu,Cr,Ni,Pb,and As.The stability of PTEs in biochars might be improved by higher pyrolytic temperatures,which can be further improved by different modifications.Herein,PO4-modification at 300°C and Cl-modification at 700°C were carried out,respectively,to enhance the stability of PTEs.Various leaching tests have been performed to assess the stability of PTEs in biochars,including the synthetic precipitation leaching procedure(SPLP),toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP),diethylenetriamine pentaacetate(DTPA)extraction,and in vitro simple bioaccessibility extraction test(SBET).The morphological structure,elemental mapping,and mineral formation of the pristine and modified biochars were studied by scanning electron microscopy–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM–EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Our results suggested that the leachability,mobility,plant-availability,and bioaccessibility of most PTEs were decreased by pyrolysis,yet the total contents of PTEs were elevated,especially at 700°C.Generally,modification by phosphates and MgCl2 enhanced the stability of PTEs in biochars.Nevertheless,it should be noted that higher bioaccessibility of PTEs was observed in biochars of P-modification than Cl-modification,which is associated with the dissolution of phosphate precipitates under acidic conditions(pH<2).Additionally,Cl-modification leads to higher plant-available Zn and Cu and bioaccessible Zn compared with the unmodified biochar produced at 700°C.Qiqi Huang Siqi Chen Jinhao Lin Jingzi Beiyuan Jin Wang Juan Liu Yundang Wu Xiaolian Wu Fuhua Li Wenbing Yuan Chengrong Nie 2023Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2023,5,1:0

8Lithium-ion battery degradation trajectory early prediction with synthetic dataset and deep learning显示文摘Knowing the long-term degradation trajectory of Lithium-ion(Li-ion) battery in its early usage stage is critical for the maintenance of the battery energy storage system(BESS) in reality. Previous battery health diagnosis methods focus on capacity and state of health(SOH) estimation which can receive only the short-term health status of the cell. This paper proposes a novel degradation trajectory prediction method with synthetic dataset and deep learning, which enables to grasp the characterization of the cell's health at a very early stage of Li-ion battery usage. A transferred convolutional neural network(CNN) is chosen to finalize the early prediction target, and the polynomial function based synthetic dataset generation strategy is designed to reduce the costly data collection procedure in real application. In this thread, the proposed method needs one full lifespan data to predict the overall degradation trajectories of other cells.
