Anatomical and chemical characteristics associated with lodging resistance in wheat显示文摘Anatomical and chemical characteristics of stems affect lodging in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars. Traits associated with lodging resistance, such as plant height, stem strength, culm wall thickness, pith diameter, and stem diameter, were extensively investigated in earlier studies. However, the solid stem trait was rarely considered. In this study, we measured a range of anatomical and chemical characteristics on solid and hollow stemmed wheat cultivars. Significant correlations were detected between resistance to lodging and several anatomical features, including width of mechanical tissue, weight of low internodes, and width of stem walls. Morphological features that gave the best indication of improved lodging resistance were increased stem width, width of mechanical tissue layer, and stem density. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that 99% of the variation in lodging resistance could be explained by the width of the mechanical tissue layer, suggesting that solid stemmed wheat has several anatomical features for increasing resistance to lodging. In addition, microsatellite markers GWM247 and GWM340 were linked to a single solid stem QTL on chromosome 3BL in a population derived from the cross Xinongshixin(solid stem)/Line 3159(hollow stem). These markers should be valuable in breeding wheat for solid stem.Eryan Kong Dongcheng Liu Xiaoli Guo Wenlong Yang Jiazhu Sun Xin Li Kehui Zhan Dangqun Cui Jinxing Lin Aimin Zhang 2013The Crop Journal2013,1,1:43
MXene-coated silk-derived carbon cloth toward flexible electrode for supercapacitor application显示文摘Flexible supercapacitors are promising energy storage devices in wearable smart electronics. Exploring cost-efficient electrodes with high capacitance would promote the wide-scale application of such capacitors. Herein, in order to explore a methodology for preparing low cost, flexible, tough, and up-scalable supercapacitor electrodes, silk textile is directly carbonized to make a conductive free-standing textile substrate. Through mildly baking the surfactant-free Ti_3C_2T_x flakes suspension loaded on the carbonized silk cloth, a uniform and adhesive coating consisting of nanometer-thick Ti_3C_2T_x flakes is well established on the conductive fabric support, forming a MXene-coated flexible textile electrode. The fabricated electrode exhibits a high areal capacitance of 362 m F/cm^2 with excellent cyclability and flexibility. Moreover, capacitance changes neglegibly under the bending deformation mode. This study elucidates the feasibility of using silk-derived carbon cloth from biomss for MXene-based flexible supercapacitor.Minmin Hu Tao Hu Renfei Cheng Jinxing Yang Cong Cui Chao Zhang Xiaohui Wang 2018Journal of Energy Chemistry2018,27,1:10
Techniques for detecting protein-protein interactions in living cells:principles, limitations, and recent progress显示文摘Detecting protein-protein interactions(PPIs) provides fundamental information for understanding biochemical processes such as the transduction of signals from one cellular location to another; however, traditional biochemical techniques cannot provide sufficient spatio-temporal information to elucidate these molecular interactions in living cells. Over the past decade, several new techniques have enabled the identification and characterization of PPIs. In this review, we summarize three main techniques for detecting PPIs in vivo, focusing on their basic principles and applications in biological studies. We place a special emphasis on their advantages and limitations, and, in particular, we introduced some uncommon new techniques, such as single-molecule FRET(smFRET), FRET-fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy(FRET-FLIM), cytoskeleton-based assay for protein-protein interaction(CAPPI) and single-molecule protein proximity index(smPPI), highlighting recent improvements to the established techniques. We hope that this review will provide a valuable reference to enable researchers to select the most appropriate technique for detecting PPIs.Yaning Cui Xi Zhang Meng Yu Yingfang Zhu Jingjing Xing Jinxing Lin 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,5:9
Single-Particle Tracking for the Quantification of Membrane Protein Dynamics in Living Plant Cells显示文摘The plasma membrane is a sophisticated, organized, and highly heterogeneous structure that compartmentalizes cellular processes. To decipher the biological processes involving membrane proteins,it is necessary to analyze their spatiotemporal dynamics. However,it is difficult to directly assess the dynamics and interactions of biomolecules in living cells using traditional biochemical methods.Singleparticle tracking (SPT)methods for imaging and tracking single particles conjugated with fluorescent probes offer an ideal approach to acquire valuable and complementary information about dynamic intracellular processes.SPT can be used to quantitatively monitor the diverse motions of individual particles in living cells.SPT also provides super-spatiotemporal resolution that allows early-stage or rapid response information to be obtained for a better understanding of molecular basis of associated signal transduction processes.More importantly,SPT can be used to detect the motion paths of individual biomolecules in vivo and in situ, thus unveiling the dynamic behavior of the biomolecules that support developmental processes in living cells. In this review,we give an overview of SPT methods, from image acquisition to the detection of single particles,as well as tracking and data analysis. We also discuss recent applications of SPT methods in the field ofplant biology to reveal the complex biological functions of membrane proteins.Yaning Cui Meng Yu Xiaomin Yao Jingjing Xing Jinxing Lin Xiaojuan Li 2018Molecular Plant2018,11,11:5

Plant multiscale networks:charting plant connectivity by multi-level analysis and imaging techniques显示文摘In multicellular and even single-celled organisms, individual components are interconnected at multiscale levels to produce enormously complex biological networks that help these systems maintain homeostasis for development and environmental adaptation.Systems biology studies initially adopted network analysis to explore how relationships between individual components give rise to complex biological processes.Network analysis has been applied to dissect the complex connectivity of mammalian brains across different scales in time and space in The Human Brain Project. In plant science, network analysis has similarly been applied to study the connectivity of plant components at the molecular, subcellular, cellular, organic, and organism levels.Analysis of these multiscale networks contributes to our understanding of how genotype determines phenotype. In this review,we summarized the theoretical framework of plant multiscale networks and introduced studies investigating plant networks by various experimental and computational modalities. We next discussed the currently available analytic methodologies and multi-level imaging techniques used to map multiscale networks in plants. Finally,we highlighted some of the technical challenges and key questions remaining to be addressed in this emerging field.Xi Zhang Yi Man Xiaohong Zhuang Jinbo Shen Yi Zhang Yaning Cui Meng Yu Jingjing Xing Guangchao Wang Na Lian Zijian Hu Lingyu Ma Weiwei Shen Shunyao Yang Huimin Xu Jiahui Bian Yanping Jing Xiaojuan Li Ruili Li Tonglin Mao Yuling Jiao Sodmergen Haiyun Ren Jinxing Lin 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9:3
Dynamic spatial reorganization of BSK1 complexes in the plasma membrane underpins signal-specific activation for growth and immunity显示文摘Growth and immunity are opposing processes that compete for cellular resources, and proper resource allocation is crucial for plant survival.BSK1 plays a key role in the regulation of both growth and immunity by associating with BRI1 and FLS2,respectively.However,it remains unclear how two antagonistic signals co-opt BSK1 to induce signal-specific activation. Here we show that the dynamic spatial reorganiization of BSK1 within the plasma membrane underlies the mechanism of signal-specific activation for growth or immunity.Resting BSK1 localizes to membrane rafts as complexes.Unlike BSK1-associated FLS2 and BRI1,flg22 or exogenous brassinosteroid(BR)treatment did not decrease BSK1 levels at the plasma membrane(PM)but rather induced BSK1 multimerization and dissociation from FLS2/BSK1 or BRI1/BSK1,respectively.Moreover,flg22-activated BSK1 translocated from membrane rafts to non-membrane-raft regions, whereas BR-activated BSK1 remained in membrane rafts. When applied together with flg22,BR suppressed various flg22-induced BSK1 activities such as BSK1 dissociation from FLS2/BSK1,BSK1 interaction with MAPKKK5,and BSK translocation together with MAPKKK5.Taken together, this study provides a unique insight into how the precise control of BSK1 spatiotemporal organization regulates the signaling specificity to balance plant growth and immunity.Bodan Su Xi Zhang Li Li Sammar Abbas Meng Yu Yaning Cui Frantisek Baluska Inhwan Hwang Xiaoyi Shan Jinxing Lin 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,4:2

Raman Spectroscopy of Layered Compound YbB_(2)C_(2)显示文摘REB_(2)C_(2)(RE=Y and lanthanides)compounds have gained attention for their unique layered crystal structure. However, there have been few reports about Raman spectroscopy of REB_(2)C_(2) compounds up to now. Here, the Raman spectrum of YbB_(2)C_(2) is obtained by a micro-Raman spectroscope and the first-principles calculations.Raman active vibrational modes of YbB_(2)C_(2) are confirmed as A_(1g)(627 and 1311 cm^(-1)),B_(1g)(944 and 1172 cm^(-1)),B_(2g)(330 and 885 cm^(-1))and E_(g)(357 and 530 cm^(-1)).Atomic displacements of these modes are different, they can be divided into two groups:A_(1g)’,B_(1g) and B_(2g) correspond to ring breathing(δ_(in),in the plane)of B_(2)C_(2) layer;E_(g) is due to ring deformation(δ_(oop),out of the plane)of B_(2)C_(2) layer. These results are helpful to understand the individual structure of REB_(2)C_(2).Zhihui Li Jinxing Yang Jiemin Wang Jixin Chen Hao Zhang Cong Cui Xiaohui Wang Zhonghai Ji Yongheng Zhang Meishuan Li 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,7:0
Application of Activated Alumina Powders in Corundum Castables显示文摘There are many brands of activated alumina powders in the market and the products from different manufacturers exist subtle differences. In this work, four brands of activated alumina powder which are the mainstream products in China with the same marked particle size of 2-3 μm were added to corundum castables to investigate the effect of different activated alumina powder on properties of corundum castables. It is found that the multi-peak distribution, round-shape particle, low impurities content of alumina powder are of great benefit to the improvement of the overall performance of castables.Obvious CA6 frame structure formed in castables matrix is conductive to improving the thermal shock resistance and high temperature strength of castables. One kind of domestic alumina micropowder studied in this work has good application value and prospect in corundum castables because of the excellent comprehensive performance.LI Youqi DING Jinxing CUI Qingyang ZHAO Jizeng 2019China's Refractories2019,28,2:0

Fabrication of wide temperature lanthanum and cerium doped Cu/TNU-9 catalyst with excellent NH_(3)-SCR performance and outstanding SO_(2)+H_(2)O tolerance显示文摘The effects of La on the catalytic performance,SO_(2)and H2O resistance of Cu-Ce/TNU-9 catalyst were studied in the selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x)via ammonia(NH_(3)-SCR).The results show that the La doped Ce-Cu/TNU-9(CCL/T9)catalyst exhibits better SCR performance than Ce-Cu/TNU-9(CC/T9)and Cu/TNU-9(C/T9)in the wide temperature window(200-450℃)due to La benefiting from enhancing Cu^(+)+Ce^(4+)?Cu^(2+)-+Ce^(3+)to facilitate the electron transfer, which further accelerates the oxidation of NO into NO_(2)that leads to the'Fast SCR'.The La can also enhance the surface acidic, redox property and is beneficial to the formation of oxygen vacancy.Meanwhile, the larger co ntent of Ce^(3+) can produce oxygen vacancy, resulting in rising SCR activity. The CCL/T9 has outstanding water and SO_(2) resistance, which may be due to the adso rbed S on the surface of these catalysts mainly existing in the form of a small amount of sulfate and sulfite, the decomposition of ammonium bisulphite under high temperature and the hydrophobicity of TNU-9 zeolite.Jian Yang Zhifang Li Jinxing Cui Yuanyuan Ma Yueyu Li Qian Zhang Kun Song Changlong Yang 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,8:0

Genome-wide identification and expression profiling of the YUCCA gene family in Brassica napus显示文摘Auxin is essential for plant growth and development, also closely related to plant architecture.YUCCA(YUC)proteins catalyse the rate-limiting step for endogenous auxin biosynthesis. In this study,we identified 57 Bn YUC genes in Brassica napus(rapeseed)genome, located on 17 chromosomes.Among them,A09 chromosome contained the most Bn YUCs as 6.Phylogenetic tree showed that all Bn YUC members were divided into 2 evolutionary clusters, including 7 sub-groups.Among the sub-groups,Clade I-C consisted 20 members, evolved independently from Arabidopsis thaliana, and motif 10 was unique.Genomic collinearity analysis showed that YUC collinear gene pairs widely existed in Brassica species, indicating that this family has a high retention rate in the evolution.Expression profile suggested that the Bn YUC family genes tended to express in specific growth/development stages as well as suffering stress/hormone treatments. It suggested that dominant expression of specific members existed with each development stage or treatment, indicating that each Bn YUC might have a clear division of work, and play a given biological function. This work was expected to build a basis for further study of the involvement of Bn YUC in growth, development and stress response.Ka Zhang Jinfang Zhang Cheng Cui Liang Chai Benchuan Zheng Jun Jiang Haojie Li Jinxing Tu 2022Oil Crop Science2022,7,3:0
