1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 2Geochronology, Geochemistry and Tectonic Significance of the Early Carboniferous Gabbro and Diorite Plutons in West Ujimqin, Inner Mongolia显示文摘Early Carboniferous gabbros and diorites are distributed in West Ujimqin, Inner Mongolia. The LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb ages of the gabbro and diorite samples are 321± 2 Ma(MSWD=0.65) and 319.4± 1.5 Ma(MSWD=0.42), respectively. In addition, new geochemistry data from three gabbro and three diorite samples are presented. All six samples show high Al_2O_3 contents but low-TiO_2 contents, belonging to tholeiitic and calc-alkali basalt series. All of the samples have similar chondrite normalized REE patterns characterized by moderate depletion in LREE similar to normal middle oceanic ridge basalt(MORB). The MORB and PM-normalized trace element patterns show the enrichment in large ion lithophile elements(LILE, e.g., Rb, Ba and Sr), depletion in high field strength elements(HFSE) and distinctly negative Nb and Ta anomalies similar to volcanic arc basalt. Furthermore, as shown in the correlation plots of La/Ba vs. La/Nb, Ba/La vs. Ce/Pb, Th/La vs. Ce/Pb, Nb/La vs. Ba/Rb, and Nb/Y vs. La/Yb, the magma source has underwent contamination and metasomatism from the subduction fluid. According to the Zr/Nb, La/Nb, and La/Ta ratios and the Nb/Y vs. Zr/Y and Sm/Yb vs. La/Sm diagrams, the magma was derived from shallow depleted lithospheric mantle and formed by moderate(5%~20%) partial melting of spinel lherzolites. Tectonic setting discrimination diagrams reveal that the gabbros and diorites display both characteristics of MORB and volcanic arc basalt, which is consistent with their geochemical characteristics. 3Genome-wide analysis and expression profiling of the phospholipase D gene family in Gossypium arboreum显示文摘The plant phospholipase D(PLD)plays versatile functions in multiple aspects of plant growth,development,and stress responses.However,until now,our knowledge concerning the PLD gene family members and their expression patterns in cotton has been limited.In this study,we performed for the first time the genome-wide analysis and expression profiling of PLD gene family in Gossypium arboretum,and finally,a total of 19 non-redundant PLD genes(GaPLDs)were identified.Based on the phylogenetic analysis,they were divided into six well-supported clades(α,β/γ,δ,ε,ζ and φ).Most of the GaPLD genes within the same clade showed the similar exon-intron organization and highly conserved motif structures.Additionally,the chromosomal distribution pattern revealed that GaPLD genes were unevenly distributed across 10 of the 13 cotton chromosomes.Segmental duplication is the major contributor to the expansion of Ga PLD gene family and estimated to have occurred from19.61 to 20.44 million years ago when a recent large-scale genome duplication occurred in cotton.Moreover,the expression profiling provides the functional divergence of GaPLD genes in cotton and provides some new light on the molecular mechanisms of GaPLDα1 and GaPLDδ2 in fiber development.Kai TANG Chunjuan DONG Jinyuan LIU 2016Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,2:9
4Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 5Ferroptosis promotes T-cell activation-induced neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis显示文摘While many drugs are effective at reducing the relapse frequency of multiple sclerosis (MS), there is an unmet need for treatments that slow neurodegeneration resulting from secondary disease progression. The mechanism of neurodegeneration in MS has not yet been established. Here, we discovered a potential pathogenetic role of ferroptosis, an iron-dependent regulated cell death mechanism, in MS. We found that critical ferroptosis proteins (acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4, ACSL4) were altered in an existing genomic database of MS patients, and biochemical features of ferroptosis, including lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial shrinkage, were observed in the experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE) mouse model. Targeting ferroptosis with ferroptosis inhibitors or reducing ACSL4 expression improved the behavioral phenotypes of EAE mice, reduced neuroinflammation, and prevented neuronal death. We found that ferroptosis was an early event in EAE, which may promote T-cell activation through T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling in vitro and in vivo. 8Subwavelength on-chip light focusing with bigradient all-dielectric metamaterials for dense photonic integration显示文摘Photonic integrated circuits(PICs)provide a promising platform for miniaturized on-chip optical systems for communication,computation,and sensing applications.The dense integration of photonic components is one of the keys to exploit the advantages of PIC.Although light focusing is a fundamental and indispensable function in PICs,focusing light at the micro/nanometer-scale is challenging.Here,a bigradient on-chip metalens(BOML)is proposed to achieve ultrasmall focal lengths and spot sizes at the subwavelength scale for dense PICs.The design of BOML combines gradient geometry and gradient refractive index into one metalens by simultaneously engineering the length and width of subwavelength silicon slots.With a small device footprint of only 168μm,the BOML achieves efficient on-chip focusing with the recordbreaking figure-of-merits,which are the ratio of wavelength to focal length/spot size(0.268 and 2.83)and numerical aperture(1.78).Leveraging on the Fresnel design,the footprint of BOML is further reduced by 55.1%,and the numerical aperture is enhanced to 1.9.The demonstration of mode conversion and beam steering with efficiency over 80%and a tilting range of 7.2°holds the potential for highly dense on-chip photonic systems for optical communication,optical sensing,nonlinear optics,and neural networks for deep learning.Zhihao Ren Bowei Dong Qifeng Qiao Xinmiao Liu Jinyuan Liu Guangya Zhou Chengkuo Lee 2022InfoMat2022,4,2:1

10Identification of the candidate gene controlling tiller angle in common wheat through genome-wide association study and linkage analysis显示文摘Wheat tiller angle(TA)is an important agronomic trait that contributes to grain production by affecting plant architecture.It also plays a crucial role in high-yield wheat breeding.An association panel and a recombinant inbred line(RIL)population were used to map quantitative trait loci(QTL)for TA.Results showed that 470 significant SNPs with 10.4%–28.8%phenotypic variance explained(PVE)were detected in four replicates by a genome-wide association study(GWAS).Haplotype analysis showed that the TA_Hap_4B1 locus on chromosome 4B was a major QTL to regulate wheat TA.Ten QTL were totally detected by linkage mapping with the RIL population,and QTA.hau-4B.1 identified in six environments with the PVE of 7.88%–18.82%was a major and stable QTL.A combined analysis demonstrated that both TA_Hap_4B1 and QTA.hau-4B.1 were co-located on the same region.Moreover,QTA.hau-4B.1 was confirmed by bulked segregant RNA-Seq(BSR-Seq)analysis.Phenotypic analysis showed that QTA.hau-4B.1was also closely related to yield traits.Furthermore,Traes CS4B02G049700 was considered as a candidate gene through analysis of gene sequence and expression.This study can be potentially used in cloning key genes modulating wheat tillering and provides valuable genetic resources for improvement of wheat plant architecture.Lei Zhao Canguan Wang Tongzhu Wang Jinyuan Liu Qi Qiao Yulu Yang Pengyu Hu Leilei Zhang Simin Zhao Daiying Chen Yan Ren Ning Zhang Zhongdong Dong Feng Chen 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,3:0
11Constructing boronate-bridged core-satellite gold nanoassembly and its application in high sensitive colorimetric detection of benzoyl peroxide residues in food matrices显示文摘Here,a new designed core/satellite gold nanoprobe was developed for detecting trace mount of benzoyl peroxide(BPO) based on its deboronation.This gold nanoassembly(the BE-Au NPs_(12/65)) wa s constructed via borate ester formation between large 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid(MPBA) modified Au NPs(the MPBAAu NPs_(65),as cores) and small dopamine modified AuNPs(the D PA-AuNPs_(12),as satellites).Particularly,upon addition of BPO,it would trigger the deboronation for the BE-AuNPs_(12/65) probes accompanying with distinct color changes from blue,purple to wine red,which implied the disassembly of the core/satellite nanostructure after the breakage of carbon to boron chemical bond.By measuring the absorbance ratio at 665 nm and 545 nm,quantification of BPO was achieved in the range of 10.0-100.0 nmol/L,which could also be easily observed by naked eyes.The nanoprobe utilized a boronate deprotection mechanism and the LSPR properties of Au NPs to provide high selectivity for detecting BPO over similar ROS/RNS with the limit of detection as low as 7.2 nmol/L.The practical applicability of this assay was verified through successful determining BPO in flour samples,which demonstrated its great potentials in food safety field.Ting Li Jiefang Sun Jinyuan Liu Baolei Dong Huachao Zhao Xiaoting Qiao Wencong Shan Jing Zhang Bing Shao 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2:0

13Synergetic treatment of oxygen microcapsules and lenvatinib for enhanced therapy of HCC by alleviating hypoxia condition and activating anti-tumor immunity显示文摘Hypoxia is a typical characteristic of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), which causes tremendous obstacles to tumor treatments. Current first-line treatment may further deteriorate tumor hypoxia. For example,Lenvatinib, a receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor(RTKI), suppresses tumor growth via blocking vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) signaling, and can also inhibit angiogenesis, thus limiting oxygen supply to tumor sites. Therefore, alleviating tumor microenvironment(TME) hypoxia holds great potential for enhancing the therapeutic effect of RTKI. Here, nanoparticle-stabilized oxygen microcapsules, a stable and biocompatible oxygen-loaded delivery system, are successfully prepared through interfacial polymerization of polydopamine nanoparticles. The microcapsules with a large loading capacity of oxygen in the core show excellent bioavailability and dispersity, which could effectively improve the hypoxic TME when they serve as oxygen delivery vehicles. Synergetic treatments of Lenvatinib and oxygen microcapsules could induce the transition of “cold tumor” in an immune-suppressed state to “hot tumor” in an immune-activated state by improving tumor hypoxic TME and reducing angiogenesis in HCC. 14Oxygen microcapsules improve immune checkpoint blockade by ameliorating hypoxia condition in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Rationale:Hypoxia in tumor microenvironment(TME)represents an obstacle to the efficacy of immunotherapy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)through several aspects such as increasing the expression of immune checkpoints or promoting fibrosis.Reversing hypoxic TME is a potential strategy to improve the validity of immune checkpoint blockade(ICB).Methods:Here,we synthesized polydopamine-nanoparticle-stabilized oxygen microcapsules with excellent stabilization,bioavailability,and biocompatibility for direct oxygen delivery into tumor sites by interfacial polymerization.Results:We observed oxygen microcapsules enhanced the oxygen concentration in the hypoxia environment and maintained the oxygen concentration for a long period both in vitro and in vivo.We found that oxygen microcapsules could significantly improve the efficiency of ICB against PDAC in vivo.Mechanismly,combined treatments using oxygen microcapsules and ICB could reduce the infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)and polarized pro-tumor M2 macrophages into anti-tumor M1 macrophages.In addition,combined treatments could elevate the proportion of T helper subtype 1 cells(Th1 cells)and cytotoxic T lymphocytes cells(CTLs)to mediate anti-tumor immune response in TME.Conclusion:In summary,this pre-clinical study indicated that reversing hypoxia in TME by using oxygen microcapsules was an effective strategy to improve the performances of ICB on PDAC,which holds great potential for treating PDAC in the future.Jiangchao Wu Xun Wang Li Chen Jianing Wang Junlei Zhang Jianghui Tang Yongtao Ji Jinyuan Song Lin Wang Yaxing Zhao Hui Zhang Taohong Li Jianpeng Sheng Dong Chen Qi Zhang Tingbo Liang 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,2:0
