Three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis of the Mechanical Properties of Helical Thread Connection显示文摘Conventional analytical and numerical methods for the mechanical properties of helical threads are relied on many assumptions and approximations and thus hardly yield satisfied results. A parameterized 3D finite element model of bolted joints with real helical thread geometry is established and meshed with refined hexahedral elements. The Von Mises plasticity criterion, kinematic hardening rule of materials and interfacial contacts are employed to make it possible for the suggested model be able to approach real assembly conditions. Then, the mechanical properties of bolted joints with different thread pitches, thread numbers and modular ratios are investigated, including the contact pressure distribution at joint interfaces, the axial load distribution and stress concentration in screw threads during the loading and unloading process. Simulation results indicate that the load distribution in screw threads produced by the suggested model agrees well the results from CHEN's photoelastic tests. In addition, an interesting phenomenon is found that tightening the bolt with a large preload first and then adjusting the clamping force by unloading can make the load distribution more uniform and reduce the maximum residual equivalent stress in thread roots by up to 40%. This research provides a simple and practical approach to constructing the 3D finite element model and predicting the mechanical properties of helical thread connection. | YANG Guoqing HONG Jun ZHU Linbo LI Baotong XIONG Meihua WANG Fei | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,3: | 19
Frequent Mutation of rs13281615 and Its Association with PVT1 Expression and Cell Proliferation in Breast Cancer显示文摘The q24 band of chromosome 8(8q24)is frequently amplified in human cancers including breast cancer, and several SNPs(single nucleotide polymorphisms)at 8q24,including rs13281615,have been identified for their association with cancer risks. These SNPs are in a'gene desert'region, and their functions in cancer development remain to be illustrated, although several of the SNPs appear to influence the genes in the'desert'in a long-range manner, including the v-myc avian myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog(MYC)and the nonprotein coding plasmacytoma variant translocation 1(PVT1),both of which have been implicated in human cancers. In the current study,we examined rs13281615 for its potential role in breast cancer using normal and cancer tissues from 121 Chinese women with breast cancer. In addition to confirming the association of the GG genotype of rs13281615 with breast cancer risk,we found that germline GG genotype was significantly associated with estrogen receptor(ER)positivity, higher tumor grade and higher proliferation index. We also found frequent somatic mutations(22/121 or 18.2%)of this SNP in breast cancer.Interestingly, the majority of the mutations(17/22 or 77%)involved a G/A change, resulting in a decrease in the number of cancers with the GG risk genotype and subsequent loss of GG association with higher tumor grade and proliferation index in cancers.Furthermore,PVT1 expression was increased in cancers, and the increase was associated with the GG genotype of rs13281615.These results suggest that the GG genotype of SNP rs13281615 plays a role in breast cancer likely by influencing PVT1 expression, and that during oncogenesis,'protective'mutations could occur. | Zhiqian Zhang Zhengmao Zhu Baotong Zhang Weidong Li Xin Li Xiao Wu Lijuan Wang Liya Fu Li Fu Jin-Tang Dong | 2014 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,4: | 12
Effects of intermittent loading time and stress ratio on dwell fatigue behavior of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI used in deep-sea submersibles显示文摘Different components of deep-sea submersibles, such as the pressure hull, are usually subjected to intermittent loading, dwell loading, and unloading during service. Therefore, for the design and reliability assessment of structural parts under dwell fatigue loading, understanding the effects of intermittent loading time on dwell fatigue behavior of the alloys is essential. In this study, the effects of the intermittent loading time and stress ratio on dwell fatigue behavior of the titanium alloy Ti-6 Al-4 V ELI were investigated. Results suggest that the dwell fatigue failure modes of Ti-6 Al-4 V ELI can be classified into three types,i.e.,fatigue failure mode, ductile failure mode, and mixed failure mode. The intermittent loading time does not affect the dwell fatigue behavior, whereas the stress ratio significantly affects the dwell fatigue life and dwell fatigue mechanism. The dwell fatigue life increases with an increase in the stress ratio for the same maximum stress, and specimens with a negative stress ratio tend to undergo ductile failure. The mechanism of dwell fatigue of titanium alloys is attribute to an increase in the plastic strain caused by the part of the dwell loading, thereby resulting in an increase in the actual stress of the specimens during the subsequent loading cycles and aiding the growth of the formed crack or damage, along with the local plastic strain or damage induced by the part of the fatigue load promoting the cumulative plastic strain during the dwell fatigue process. The interaction between dwell loading and fatigue loading accelerates specimen failure,in contrast to the case for individual creep or fatigue loading alone. The dwell fatigue life and cumulative maximum strain during the first loading cycle could be correlated by a linear relationship on the log–log scale. This relationship can be used to evaluate the dwell fatigue life of Ti alloys with the maximum stress dwell. | Chengqi Sun Yanqing Li Kuilong Xu Baotong Xu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,18: | 7
Additive Effect of Zfhx3/Atbf1 and Pten Deletion on Mouse Prostatic Tumorigenesis显示文摘The phosphatase and tensin homolog(PTEN) and the zinc finger homeobox 3(ZFHX3)/AT-motif binding factor 1(ATBF1) genes have been established as tumor suppressor genes in prostate cancer by their frequent deletions and mutations in human prostate cancer and by the formation of mouse prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia(mPIN) or tumor by their deletions in mouse prostates. However, whether ZFHX3/ATBF1 deletion together with PTEN deletion facilitates prostatic tumorigenesis is unknown. In this study,we simultaneously deleted both genes in mouse prostatic epithelia and performed histological and molecular analyses. While deletion of one Pten allele alone caused low-grade(LG) mPIN as previously reported, concurrent deletion of 2fla3/Atbf1 promoted the progression to high-grade(HG)mPIN or early carcinoma.Zfhx3/Atbf1 and Pten deletions together increased cell proliferation, disrupted the smooth muscle layer between epithelium and stroma, and increased the number of apoptotic cells.Deletion of both genes also accelerated the activation of Akt and Erk1/2 oncoproteins. These results suggest an additive effect of ZFHX3/ATBF1 and PTEN deletions on the development and progression of prostate neoplasia. | Xiaodong Sun Changsheng Xing Xiaoying Fu Jie Li Baotong Zhang Henry F.Frierson Jr. Jin-Tang Dong | 2015 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2015,42,7: | 3
Low power and high uniformity of HfO_x-based RRAM via tip-enhanced electric fields显示文摘In this paper, the HfO_x-based resistive random access memory(RRAM) devices with sub-100 nm pyramid-type electrodes were fabricated. With the help of tip-enhanced electric field around the pyramid-type electrodes, it was experimentally demonstrated that the novel devices have better cycle-to-cycle variation control, lower forming/set voltage(1.97/0.7V) and faster switching speed(≤30 ns under 0.9V pulse) as well as better endurance reliability than conventional flat electrode resistive memory devices. In addition, the novel RRAM is experimentally demonstrated with independence of electrode number for the first time to present great potential in scaling down. | 8 | Synergistic Activity of Organosilicone to Emamectin Benzoate against Beet Armyworm (Spodoptera exigua Hübner)显示文摘Based on determination for surface tension of organosilicone solution and its expansion on the solid surface, the biological activity of 5% emamectin benzoate WDG with organosilicone against beet armyworm was determined by spraying method to study their synergistic activity. The results showed that organosilicone significantly reduced surface tension of aqueous solution, and the surface tension was reduced to 26mN/m as the concentration of organosilicone was 0.01%. The organosilicone significantly raised expansion of liquid drops on solid surface, and the expansion diameter of 10 μL 0.01% organosilicone was 34 mm. The indoor toxicity results indicated that when addition dosage of organosilicone was 1%-5%,synergistic activity of 5% emamectin benzoate WDG with organosilicone against beet armyworm was significant, and increase extent of synergistic activity slowed down as organosilicone dosage was higher than 5%. Field experiment showed that the control efficacies of 5% emamectin benzoate WDG + 5% organosilicone 33 mg/L against beet armyworm were 81.57% and 82.66% after spraying for 3 and7 d respectively, which were significantly better than treatments of 5% emamectin benzoate WDG 33 mg/L,24% metaflumizone SC 96 mg/L,5% chlorantraniliprole SC 33 mg/L,20% flubendiamide WDG 40 mg/L and 15% indoxacarb EC 43 mg/L. | Li Baotong Yuan Yinhua Tang Limei | 2013 | Plant Diseases and Pests2013,4,3: | 1

Genomic analysis, trajectory tracking, and field surveys reveal sources and long-distance dispersal routes of wheat stripe rust pathogen in China显示文摘Identifying sources of phytopathogen inoculum and determining their contributions to disease outbreaks are essential for predicting disease development and establishing control strategies.Puccinia striiformis f.sp.tritici(Pst),the causal agent of wheat stripe rust,is an airborne fungal pathogen with rapid virulence variation that threatens wheat production through its long-distance migration.Because of wide variation in geographic features, climatic conditions, and wheat production systems,Pst sources and related dispersal routes in China are largely unclear. In the present study,we performed genomic analyses of 154 Pst isolates from all major wheat-growing regions in China to determine Pst population structure and diversity.Through trajectory tracking, historical migration studies, genetic introgression analyses, and field surveys,we investigated Pst sources and their contributions to wheat stripe rust epidemics. We identified Longnan, the Himalayan region, and the Guizhou Plateau, which contain the highest population genetic diversities,as the Pst sources in China.Pst from Longnan disseminates mainly to eastern Liupan Mountain, the Sichuan Basin, and eastern Qinghai;that from the Himalayan region spreads mainly to the Sichuan Basin and eastern Qinghai;and that from the Guizhou Plateau migrates mainly to the Sichuan Basin and the Central Plain. These findings improve our current understanding of wheat stripe rust epidemics in China and emphasize the need for managing stripe rust on a national scale. | Yuxiang Li Jichen Dai Taixue Zhang Baotong Wang Siyue Zhang Conghao Wang Jiguang Zhang Qiang Yao Mingju Li Chengyun Li Yuelin Peng Shiqin Cao Gangming Zhan Fei Tao Haifeng Gao Weili Huang Xiaojun Feng Yingwen Bai Zhuoma Qucuo Hongsheng Shang Chong Huang Wancai Liu Jiasui Zhan Xiangming Xu Xianming Chen Zhensheng Kang Xiaoping Hu | 2023 | Plant Communications2023,4,4: | 1
Design of readout electronics based on peak-holding circuit and multiplexer for a fast neutron spectrometer显示文摘Background Fast neutron detection is meaningful in many research fields such as space environment monitoring.A scintillating fiber array model for fast neutron detection was proposed and developed in 1980s.Aerospace applications of the model require electronics in small size.Purpose To design a dedicated electronic system to readout and process the 384-channel signals from scintillating fiber array, and to use the designed system to fabricate a neutron detector for aerospace applications. Methods With the method of nuclear recoil, fast neutron is detected by tracking recoil proton of n–p scatter in scintillating plastic fibers.Using the peak-holding circuits and multiplexers, the system size and power consumption were reduced. Results The detector fabricated with the designed system, had 34 cm×34 cm×27 cm mechanical size,20.4 kg weight, and 30.05W power consumption.Comparing to traditional waveform sampling electronics, the designed electronics was highly integrated and had a small size. The readout electronics also gave a better energy resolution of 39%in neutron detection, while the energy resolution was 43%in previous version. Conclusion In this study,a highly integrated readout electronic system was designed and verified. The detector using the system gave good performance. The designed electronics had potential development in fast neutron detection and other high energy physics detection system. | Liyang Sun Kai Zhuang Xiaoming Wang Fanjian Zeng Heng An Daowu Li Yuxiong Xue Zhiming Zhang Wei Zhou Yingjie Wang Baotong Feng Peilin Wang Xiaohui Li Jiale Cai Teng Tong Fanhui Meng Junguang Zhou Huan Huang Xuanhou Hu Xiubo Qin | 2018 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2018,2,1: | 1

Delay-dependent passive control of linear systems with nonlinear perturbation显示文摘The problem of delay-dependent passive control of a class of linear systems with nonlinear perturbation and time-varying delay in states is studied. The main idea aims at designing a state-feedback controller such that for a time-varying delay in states, the linear system with nonlinear perturbation remains robustly stable and passive. In the system, the delay is time-varying. And the derivation of delay has the maximum and minimum value. The time-varying nonlinear perturbation is allowed to be norm-bounded. Using the effective linear matrix inequality methodology, the sufficient condition is primarily obtained for the system to have robust stability and passivity. Subsequently the existent condition of a state feedback controller is given, and the explicit expression of the controller is obtained by means of the solution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In the end, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approach. | Li Caina Cui Baotong | 2008 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2008,19,2: | 1

Parametric Structural Optimization of 2D Complex Shape Based on Isogeometric Analysis显示文摘The geometric model and the analysis model can be unified together through the isogeometric analysis method, which has potential to achieve seamless integration of CAD and CAE.Parametric design is a mainstream and successful method in CAD field. This method is not continued in simulation and optimization stage because of the model conversion in conventional optimization method based on the finite element analysis. So integration of the parametric modeling and the structural optimization by using isogeometric analysis is a natural and interesting issue. This paper proposed a method to realize a structural optimization of parametric complex shapes by using isogeometric analysis.By the given feature curves and the constraints,a feature frame model is built.Based on the feature frame model,a parametric representation of complex shape is obtained. After adding some auxiliary curves, the feature frame model is divided into many box-like patches in three dimension or four-sided patches in two dimension. These patches are built into parametric patches by using volume interpolation methods such as Coons method.Based on the parametric patches, isogeometic analysis is applied. Thus, the relationships are constructed among the size parameters, the control points and the physical performance parameters. Then the sensitivity matrix could be derived based on the relationships. The size optimization is carried out in the first stage by taking the size parameters as variables.Based on the result of size optimization, shape optimization with the constraints of stress is carried out in the second stage by taking the control points as variables.Serval planar complex shapes are taken as example to verify our method. The results verify that the parametric modeling and structural optimization can be united together without model conversion.Benefit from this, the optimization design can be executed as a dark box operation without considering the concrete modeling and analysis by input of the sizes, constraints and loads. | Long Chen Li Xu Kai Wang Baotong Li Jun Hong | 2020 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,7: | 1

Analysis on Three-Dimensional Gate Edge Roughness of Gate-All-Around Devices显示文摘As the physical size of metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor approaches the end of scaling down, the effect of process-induced variations such as gate edge roughness on device performance cannot be neglected. For gate-all-around devices, the threedimensional gate profiles make the evaluation of gate edge roughness different and more complicated than that in planar metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistors. In this work,an evaluation algorithm was proposed to model the three-dimensional gate edge roughness in a real gate-all-around device. The results show that the typical trapezoidal gate is more likely to suffer from gate edge roughness effect than the ideal rectangular gate. The effect of the size of the gate and the correlation coefficient of the edges on the effective channel length variation was also studied. | SUN Shuang LI Ming ZHANG Baotong LI Xiaokang CAI Qifeng LI Haixia BI Ran XU Xiaoyan HUANG Ru | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2021,30,5: | 0
Investigation of electrostatically tunable adhesion and instability of flying head slider显示文摘The interfacial adhesion between microstructures is inevitable in a micro-electro-mechanical system(e.g.,hard disk drive(HDD)),which may lead to complicated microtribodynamics problems. This research has investigated the effect of surface potential on the interfacial adhesion and microtribodynamics of the head–disk interface(HDI)in an HDD.A dynamic continuum surface force model, where the electrowetting is considered,is proposed to evaluate the interfacial interaction, and then employed into a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF)model to theoretically analyze the potential influence mechanism on the microtribodynamics. The results confirm that the elimination of potential can effectively repress the adhesion retention, which is further proved by the measured slider response with a laser Doppler vibrometer(LDV).Moreover, the effect of the potential on the adhesion-induced instability is also analyzed through the phase portrait. It tells that the critical stable flying height can be lowered with the elimination of potential. | Fan ZHANG Yu WANG Yueqiang HU Mingquan ZHANG Baotong LI | 2024 | Friction2024,12,3: | 0
