2Different properties of GaN-based LED grown on Si(111) and transferred onto new substrate显示文摘InGaN MQW LEDs, grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) on Si(111) substrates, were successfully bonded and transferred onto new Si substrate. After chemical etching Si(111) substrate and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) etching the transferred LED film to Si-doped layer, a vertical structure GaN blue LEDs were then fabricated. The characteristics of the lateral structure LED (grown on Si) and the vertical structure LED (bonded on Si) were investigated. 4Developing superior alleles of yield genes in rice by artificial mutagenesis using the CRISPR/Cas9 system显示文摘Rice yield is an important and complex agronomic trait controlled by multiple genes.In recent decades,dozens of yield-associated genes in rice have been cloned,many of which can increase production in the form of loss or degeneration of function.However,mutations occurring randomly under natural conditions have provided very limited genetic resources for yield increases.In this study,potentially yield-increasing alleles of two genes closely associated with yield were edited artificially.The recently developed CRISPR/Cas9system was used to edit two yield genes:Grain number 1a(Gn1a)and DENSE AND ERECT PANICLE1(DEP1).Several mutants were identified by a target sequence analysis.Phenotypic analysis confirmed one mutant allele of Gn1a and three of DEP1 conferring yield superior to that conferred by other natural high-yield alleles.Our results demonstrate that favorable alleles of the Gnla and DEP1 genes,which are considered key factors in rice yield increases,could be developed by artificial mutagenesis using genome editing technology.Liyu Huang Ru Zhang Guangfu Huang Yanxia Li Getachew Melaku Shilai Zhang Haitao Chen Yanjuan Zhao Jing Zhang Yesheng Zhang Fengyi Hu 2018The Crop Journal2018,6,5:8
5Si-substrate vertical-structure InGaN/GaN micro-LED-based photodetector for beyond 10 Gbps visible light communication显示文摘Visible light communication(VLC)has emerged as a promising communication method in 6G.However,the development of receiving devices is much slower than that of transmitting devices,limited by materials,structures,and fabrication.In this paper,we propose and fabricate an InGaN/GaN multiple-quantum-well-based vertical-structure micro-LED-based photodetector(μPD)on a Si substrate.A comprehensive comparison of the photoelectrical performance and communication performance of three sizes ofμPDs,10,50,and 100μm,is presented.The peak responsivity of all threeμPDs is achieved at 400 nm,while the passband full-widths at half maxima are 87,72,and 78 nm for 10,50,and 100μmμPDs,respectively.The−20 dB cutoff bandwidth is up to 822 MHz for 50μmμPD.A data rate of 10.14 Gbps is experimentally demonstrated by bit and power loading discrete multitone modulation and the proposed digital pre-equalizer algorithm over 1 m free space utilizing the self-designed 4×450μmμPD array as a receiver and a 450 nm laser diode as a transmitter.This is the first time a more than 10 Gbps VLC system has been achieved utilizing a GaN-based micro-PD,to the best of our knowledge.The investigation fully demonstrates the superiority of Si substrates and vertical structures in InGaN/GaNμPDs and shows its great potential for high-speed VLC links beyond 10 Gbps.JIANYANG SHI ZENGYI XU WENQING NIU DONG LI XIAOMING WU ZIWEI LI JUNWEN ZHANG CHAO SHEN GUANGXU WANG XIAOLAN WANG JIANLI ZHANG FENGYI JIANG SHAOHUA YU NAN CHI 2022Photonics Research2022,10,10:5
6Performance of microbiological control by a point-of-use filter system for drinking water purification显示文摘Purification capacity of a faucet mounted type water filter for home use was evaluated,particularly with regard to microbiological performance under different running conditions.Biofilms were formed inside the filter,affecting the bacterial quality of the effuent water.Low flow rate,long stagnation period and high filter temperature were found favorable for bacterial growth inside.By commercial analytical profile index(API) kits,ten different bacterial species were identified in drinking water,four of which were probably contributed to the biofilm formation since they were also present in the biofilm.Fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) was used to confirm the API identification results,and direct viable count(DVC) method was employed to improve the sensitivity of FISH for the isolated Acinetobacter spp.and Pseudomonas putida as models.Relationship between the filter operating condition and the bacterial community alteration was partly revealed,which could provide the basic knowledge for the filter design and its practical use.SU Fengyi LUO Mingfang ZHANG Fei LI Peng LOU Kai XING Xinhui 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9:4
7A new acyclic peroxide from Aspergillus nidulans SD-531,a fungus obtained from deep-sea sediment of cold spring in the South China Sea显示文摘A new acyclic peroxide derivative asperoxide A(1),along with 13 known compounds,namely,microperfuranone(2),9-hydroxymicroperfuranone(3),gibellulin A(4),lecanoric acid(5),terrequinone A(6),sterigmatocystin(7),isosecosterigmatocystin(8),arugosin C(9),curvularin(10),3,3'-diindolylmethane(11),austinol(12),austin(13),and dehydroaustin(14),were isolated and identified from the culture extract of Aspergillus nidulans SD-531,a fungus obtained from the deep-sea sediment of cold spring in the South China Sea.Their structures were determined based on detailed interpretation of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopic and mass spectrometry data analysis.All the isolated compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activities against human and aquatic bacteria as well as plant pathogenic fungi.Compounds 1–8,10,and 11 exhibited antimicrobial activities against some of the tested strains with minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)values ranging from^2 to 64μg/mL.Compounds 4 and 6 displayed strongest activities among the tested samples and might be used as promising molecules for the development of natural antimicrobial agents.LÜFengyi LI Xiaoming CHI Luping MENG Linghong WANG Bingui 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,4:4

10Si-substrate LEDs with multiple superlattice interlayers for beyond 24 Gbps visible light communication显示文摘High-speed visible light communication(VLC)using light-emitting diodes(LEDs)is a potential complementary technology for beyond-5 G wireless communication networks.The speed of VLC systems significantly depends on the quality of LEDs,and thus various novel LEDs with enhanced VLC performance increasingly emerge.Among them,In Ga N/Ga N-based LEDs on a Si-substrate are a promising LED transmitter that has enabled VLC data rates beyond 10 Gbps.The optimization on the period number of superlattice interlayer(SL),which is a stressrelief epitaxial layer in a Si-substrate LED,has been demonstrated to be an effective method to improve Si-substrate LED’s luminescence properties.However,this method to improve LED’s VLC properties is barely investigated.Hence,we for the first time experimentally studied the impact of SL period number on VLC performance.Accordingly,we designed and fabricated an integrated 4×4 multichromatic Si-substrate wavelength-divisionmultiplexing LED array chip with optimal SL period number.This chip allows up to 24.25 Gbps/1.2 m VLC transmission using eight wavelengths,which is the highest VLC data rate for an In Ga N/Ga N LED-based VLC system to the best of our knowledge.Additionally,a record-breaking data rate of 2.02 Gbps over a 20-m VLC link is achieved using a blue Si-substrate LED with the optimal SL period number.These results validate the effectiveness of Si-substrate LEDs for both high-speed and long-distance VLC and pave the way for Si-substrate LED design specially for high-speed VLC applications.FANGCHEN HU SHOUQING CHEN GUOQIANG LI PENG ZOU JUNWEN ZHANG JIAN HU JIANLI ZHANG ZHIXUE HE SHAOHUA YU FENGYI JIANG NAN CHI 2021Photonics Research2021,9,8:3
11Effects of Angelica sinensis extracts on lipid oxidation in fish feeds and growth performance of juvenile Jian carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian)显示文摘The study was to explore the effect of the extracts of Angelica sinensis(EAs) on lipid oxidation in fish feeds compared with ethoxyquin(EQ) and the effect of dietary EAs on growth performance of carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian). Firstly, fish feeds were respectively added with EQ, and ethyl ether extract ethyl acetate extract(EAE), acetone extract, ethanol extract(EE) and aqueous extract(AQE) of Angelica sinensis, except for the control. The results showed that EAs and EQ inhibited lipid oxidation in fish feed(P < 0.05). Of all of the examined EAs, EAE showed the strongest protective effects against lipid oxidation(P < 0.05). Moreover, EAE at high concentrations showed a stronger effect on lipid oxidation compared with EQ(P < 0.05). Then, 7 experimental diets respectively supplemented with 0.0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 g/kg of EAE were fed to the respective treatment groups for 30 d. Four replicates were performed for each treatment group; 20 carp(mean weight: 12.10 ± 0.13 g) were in each replicate. The result indicated that dietary EAE improved the growth performance in carp(P < 0.05). The appropriate con centration of EAE for carp growth was estimated to be 3.643 g/kg diet. 12A review of ARGs in WWTPs:Sources,stressors and elimination显示文摘Antibiotic re sistance genes(ARGs)in aquatic enviro nments,which seriously endanger human health and ecological safety,have become a worldwide concern due to their easy diffusion and proliferation.Wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),which receive resistant bacteria and ARGs from a wide variety of sources(i.e.,livestock farms,hospitals,antibiotic manufactures,and households),are regarded as important emission sources of aquatic ARGs.This review presents a quantitative profile of the majority sources of ARGs in the influent of WWTPs and discusses the potential factors that affect the concentration distribution of ARGs.Specifically,a noteworthy existence of ARGs,which ranged from 1 E+05 to 1 E+11 copies/mL,was detected in livestock breeding wastewater,and household wastewater(caused by the unlimited utilization of antibiotics)was determined to be the predominant contributor of ARGs in WWTPs.We summarized the selective pressure on ARGs and determined the positive correlation of the concentration of ARGs and the existence of many containments,including antibiotics,heavy metals(Zn and Cu were frequently reported),quaternary ammonium compounds,etc.In the last section,physical,chemical,and biological treatments for the removal of ARGs and their effluent in WWTPs are discussed and prospective future studies are summarized.Kena Qin Liangliang Wei Jianju Li Bo Lai Fengyi Zhu Hang Yu Qingliang Zhao Kun Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:2
13The oral microbiome of pregnant women facilitates gestational diabetes discrimination显示文摘The oral microbiota plays an important role in the development of various diseases,whereas its association with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains largely unclear.The aim of this study is to identify biomarkers from the oral microbiota of GDM patients by analyzing the microbiome of the saliva and dental plaque samples of 111 pregnant women.We find that the microbiota of both types of oral samples in GDM patients exhibits differences and significantly varies from that of patients with periodontitis or dental caries.Using bacterial biomarkers from the oral microbiota,GDM classification models based on support vector machine and random forest algorithms are constructed.The area under curve (AUC) value of the classification model constructed by combination of Lautropia and Neisseria in dental plaque and Streptococcus in saliva reaches 0.83,and the value achieves a maximum value of 0.89 by adding clinical features.These findings suggest that certain bacteria in either saliva or dental plaque can effectively distinguish women with GDM from healthy pregnant women,which provides evidence of oral microbiome as an informative source for developing noninvasive biomarkers of GDM.Xiaoqing Li Jiayong Zheng Xiuling Ma Bing Zhang Jinyang Zhang Wenhuan Wang Congcong Sun Yeping Wang Jianqiong Zheng Haiying Chen Jiejing Tao Hai Wang Fengyi Zhang Jinfeng Wang Hongping Zhang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,1:2

18Preparation of Carbon Nanotubes from Methane on Ni/Cu/Al Catalyst显示文摘A series of Ni/Cu/Al catalyst samples were prepared by the co-precipitation method. Carbon nanotubes with large inner diameters are successfully synthesized from methane on Ni/Cu/Al catalyst by adding sodium carbonate. The effects of the copper content and amounts of sodium carbonate on the morphology and microstructures of carbon nanotubes were investigated by CO adsorption and TEM technique. The experimental results showed that copper can influence both the catalytic activity and catalyst life. Best result was obtained when the copper content was 15%. Addition of sodium carbonate favors the formation of carbon nanotubes with large inner diameters.
