2Characteristics of ozone and ozone precursors(VOCs and NOx) around a petroleum refinery in Beijing, China显示文摘A field measurement campaign for ozone and ozone precursors(VOCs and NOx) was conducted in summer 2011 around a petroleum refinery in the Beijing rural region. Three observation sites were arranged, one at southwest of the refinery as the background, and two at northeast of the refinery as the downwind receptors. Monitoring data revealed the presence of serious surface O3 pollution with the characteristics of high average daily mean and maximum concentrations(64.0 and 145.4 ppbV in no-rain days, respectively) and multi-peak diurnal variation. For NOx, the average hourly concentrations of NO2 and NO were in the range of 20.5–46.1 and 1.8–6.4 ppbV, respectively. For VOC measurement, a total of 51 compounds were detected. Normally, TVOCs at the background site was only dozens of ppbC, while TVOCs at the downwind sites reached several hundreds of ppbC. By subtracting the VOC concentrations at background, chemical profiles of VOC emission from the refinery were obtained, mainly including alkanes(60.0% ± 4.3%), alkenes(21.1% ± 5.5%) and aromatics(18.9% ± 3.9%). Moreover, some differences in chemical profiles for the same measurement hours were observed between the downwind sites; the volume ratios of alkanes with low reactivity and those of alkenes with high reactivity respectively showed an increasing trend and a decreasing trend. Finally, based on temporal and spatial variations of VOC mixing ratios, their photochemical degradations and dispersion degradations were estimated to be 0.15–0.27 and 0.42–0.62, respectively, by the photochemical age calculation method, indicating stronger photochemical reactions around the refinery.Wei Wei Shuiyuan Cheng Guohao Li Gang Wang Haiyang Wang 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,2:36
3Development of a Haploid-Inducer Mediated Genome Editing System for Accelerating Maize Breeding显示文摘Crop breeding aims to generate pure in bred lines with multiple desired traits. Doubled haploid (DH) and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 are two powerful game-changing technologies in crop breeding. However, both of them still fall short for rapid generation of pure elite lines with integrated favorable traits. Here, we report the development of a Haploid-Inducer Mediated Genome Editing (IMGE) approach, which utilizes a maize haploid inducer line carrying a CRISPR/Cas9 cassette targeting for a desired agronomic trait to pollinate an elite maize in bred line and to generate genome-edited haploids in the elite maize background. 5Free return orbit design and characteristics analysis for manned lunar mission显示文摘A circumlunar free return orbit design model that satisfies manned lunar mission constraints is established. By combining analytical method with numerical method,a serial orbit design strategy from initial value design to precision solution is proposed. 9Research on the strategy of angles-only relative navigation for autonomous rendezvous显示文摘This paper considers the problem of angles-only relative navigation for autonomous rendezvous. Methods for determining degree of observability (DOO) and latent range information of orbital maneuver are proposed for analyzing and enhancing the precision of relative position and velocity estimation. The equations of angles-only relative navigation are set forth on the condition that optical camera is the only viable sensor for relative measurement, and expressions for the DOO of relative navigation are obtained by using the Newton iterative method. The latent range information of orbital maneuver is analyzed, which is employed to enhance the DOO of angles-only relative navigation. 11Patterns,magnitude,and controlling factors of hydraulic redistribution of soil water by Tamarix ramosissima roots显示文摘Tamarix spp.(Saltcedar)is a facultative phreatophyte that can tolerate drought when groundwater is not accessed.In addition to deep water uptake,hydraulic redistribution(HR)is another factor contributing to the drought tolerance of Tamarix spp.In this study,data on soil volumetric moisture content(θ),lateral root sap flow,and relevant climate variables were used to investigate the patterns,magnitude,and controlling factors of HR of soil water by roots of Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb.in an extremely arid land in Northwest China.Results showed evident diurnal fluctuations in θ at the depths of 30 and 50 cm,indicating 'hydraulic lift'(HL).θ increased remarkably at 10 and 140 cm but decreased at 30 and 50 cm and slightly changed at 80 cm after rainfall,suggesting a possible 'hydraulic descent'(HD).However,no direct evidence was observed in the negative flow of lateral roots,supporting HR(including HL and HD)of T.ramosissima.The HR pathway unlikely occurred via lateral roots;instead,HR possibly occurred through adventitious roots with a diameter of 2-5 mm and a length of 60-100 cm.HR at depths of 20-60 cm ranged from 0.01-1.77 mm/d with an average of 0.43 mm/d,which accounted for an average of 22% of the estimated seasonal total water depletion at 0-160 cm during the growing season.The climate factors,particularly vapor pressure deficit and soil water potential gradient,accounted for at least 33% and 45% of HR variations with depths and years,respectively.In summary,T.ramosissima can be added to the wide list of existing species involved in HR.High levels of HR may represent a considerable fraction of daily soil water depletion and substantially improve plant water status.HR could vary tremendously in terms of years and depths,and this variation could be attributed to climate factors and soil water potential gradient.TengFei YU Qi FENG JianHua SI HaiYang XI Wei LI 2013Journal of Arid Land2013,5,3:12
12Spurious Thermoluminescence Characteristics of the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation(ca. 635–551 Ma) and Its Implications for Marine Dissolved Organic Carbon Reservoir显示文摘The Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation(ca. 635–551 Ma) deposited immediately after the last Neoproterozoic glaciations and recorded the most prominent negative excursions of carbonate carbon isotopic composition(δ^(13)C_(carb)). These excursions have been interpreted as a result of widespread remineralization of a large dissolved organic carbon(DOC) reservoir in the Ediacaran deep oceans. However, there is no direct evidence so far found in rocks for the proposed DOC reservoir, which devalues such an interpretation. Here, we conducted a detailed study on the glow-curves characteristics and signal origins of spurious thermoluminescence(TL) of the Doushantuo Formation at Jiulongwan in Yangtze Gorges area, South China, through sequential tests under CO_2, N_2 and air. Spurious TL intensities for test samples before and after removing soluble organic matter via accelerated solvent extraction(ASE) are nearly identical. Further, significant positive correlation between the spurious TL intensity and total inorganic carbon(TIC) content(R^2=0.7) indicate that the Doushantuo spurious TL with the characteristic peak at 393.5 °C from the sequential test is chemiluminescence(CL) which is derived from the oxidation of a type of non-volatile organic matter strongly associated with carbonate mineral lattice(termed as 'X-OM'). A most likely explanation is that the X-OM is a type of dissolved organic matter which co-precipitated with carbonate minerals into sediments in the Ediacaran Doushantuo Ocean. Furthermore, a significant exponential negative correlation(R^2=0.55) is observed between the CL data and the isotopic difference between carbonate and coexisting bulk organic matter(i.e., Δ^(13)C_(carb-org), a proxy for remineralization degree of DOC reservoir in proposed DOC hypothesis), suggesting that the X-OM was derived from the oxidation of the DOC reservoir in the Ediacaran Ocean. We thus propose that the X-OM and its CL detected in our study may have recorded the evolution of the possible DOC reservoir in the Ediacaran Doushantuo Ocean. If this is correct, the stratigraphic variations of the CL intensity in the Doushantuo Formation at Jiulongwan support the pulsed oxidation of the DOC reservoir in the Ediacaran Ocean. Our findings indicate that the CL derived from the oxidation of non-volatile organic matter which is strongly associated with carbonate mineral lattices in rocks may provide a feasible approach for probing the evolution of DOC reservoir in the ancient oceans, thus likely provide direct geological evidence for the development of oceanic DOC reservoir in geological times.Haiyang Wang Chao Li Chaoyong Hu Shucheng Xie 2015Journal of Earth Science2015,26,6:12
13Phytophthora sojae Effector PsAvh240 Inhibits Host Aspartic Protease Secretion to Promote Infection显示文摘Plants secrete defense molecules into the extracellular space (the apoplast) to combat attacking microbes. However, the mechanisms by which successful pathogens subvert plant apoplastic immunity remain poorly understood. In this study, we show that PsAvh240, a membrane-localized effector of the soybean pathogen Phytophthora sojae, promotes P. sojae infection in soybean hairy roots. We found that PsAvh240 interacts with the soybean-resistant aspartic protease GmAP1 in planta and suppresses the secretion of GmAP1 into the apoplast. By solving its crystal structure we revealed that PsAvh240 contain six a helices and two WY motifs. The first two a helices of PsAvh240 are responsible for its plasma membrane-localization and are required for PsAvh240's interaction with GmAP1. The second WY motifs of two PsAvh240 molecules form a handshake arrangement resulting in a handshake-like dimer. This dimerization is required for the effector's repression of GmAP1 secretion. 16A combined application of micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction in a high-load compressor cascade显示文摘In the current study, the effects of a combined application between micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction on the flow characteristics of a high-load compressor cascade are investigated. The micro-vortex generator with a special configuration and the longitudinal suction slot are adopted. The calculated results show that a reverse flow region, which is considered the main reason for occurring stall at 7.9° incidence, grows and collapses rapidly near the leading edge and leads to two critical points occurring on the end-wall with the increasing incidence in the baseline. As the micro-vortex generator is introduced in the baseline cascade, the corner separation is switched to a trailing edge separation by the thrust from the induced vortex. Meanwhile, the occurrence of failure is delayed due to the mixed low energy fluid and main flow. The synergistic effects between the micro-vortex generator and the boundary layer suction on the performance of the cascade are superior to the baseline at all the incidence conditions before the occurrence of failure, and the sudden deterioration of the cascade occurs at 10.3° incidence. The optimal results show that the farther upstream suction position, the lower total pressure loss of the cascade with vortex generator at the near stall condition. 17Soybean AP1 homologs control flowering time and plant height显示文摘Flowering time and plant height are key agronomic traits that directly affect soybean(Glycine max)yield.APETALA1(AP1)functions as a class A gene in the ABCE model for floral organ development,helping to specify carpel,stamen,petal,and sepal identities.There are four AP1 homologs in soybean,all of which are mainly expressed in the shoot apex.Here,we used clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)–CRISPR-associated protein 9 technology to generate a homozygous quadruple mutant,gmap1,with loss-of-function mutations in all four GmAP1 genes.Under short-day(SD)conditions,the gmap1 quadruple mutant exhibited delayed flowering,changes in flower morphology,and increased node number and internode length,resulting in plants that were taller than the wild type.Conversely,overexpression of GmAP1a resulted in early flowering and reduced plant height compared to the wild type under SD conditions.The gmap1 mutant and the overexpression lines also exhibited altered expression of several genes related to flowering and gibberellic acid metabolism,thereby providing insight into the role of GmAP1 in the regulatory networks controlling flowering time and plant height in soybean.Increased node number is the trait with the most promise for enhancing soybean pod number and grain yield.Therefore,the mutant alleles of the four AP1 homologs described here will be invaluable for molecular breeding of improved soybean yield.Liyu Chen Haiyang Nan Lingping Kong Lin Yue Hui Yang Qingsong Zhao Chao Fang Haiyang Li Qun Cheng Sijia Lu Fanjiang Kong Baohui Liu Lidong Dong 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12:9
18Using the concept of ecological groundwater level to evaluate shallow groundwater resources in hyperarid desert regions显示文摘This paper,based on the analysis and calculation of the groundwater resources in an arid region from 1980 to 2001,put forward the concept of ecological groundwater level threshold for either salinity control or the determination of ecological warning.The surveys suggest that soil moisture and soil salinity are the most important environmental factors in determining the distribution and changes in vegetation.The groundwater level threshold of ecological warning can be determined by using a network of groundwater depth observation sites that monitor the environmental moisture gradient as reflected by plant physiological characteristics.According to long-term field observations within the Ejin oases,the groundwater level threshold for salinity control varied between 0.5 m and 1.5 m,and the ecological warning threshold varied between 3.5 m and 4.0 m.The quantity of groundwater resources(renewable water resources,ecological water resources,and exploitable water resources) in arid areas can be calculated from regional groundwater level information,without localized hydrogeological data.The concept of groundwater level threshold of ecological warning was established according to water development and water resources supply,and available groundwater resources were calculated.The concept not only enriches and broadens the content of groundwater studies,but also helps in predicting the prospects for water resources development.Qi FENG JiaZhong PENG JianGuo LI HaiYang XI JianHua SI 2012Journal of Arid Land2012,4,4:9

20FHY3 and FAR1 Integrate Light Signals with the miR156-SPL Module-Mediated Aging Pathway to Regulate Arabidopsis Flowering显示文摘In response to competition for light from their neighbors,shade-intolerant plants flower precociously to ensure reproductive success and survival.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying this key developmental switch are not well understood.Here,we show that a pair of Arabidopsis transcription factors essential for phytochrome A signaling,FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL3(FHY3)and FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE1(FAR1),regulate flowering time by integrating environmental light signals with the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway.We found that FHY3 and FAR1 directly interact with three flowering-promoting SQUAMOSA-PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)transcription factors,SPL3,SPL4,and SPL5,and inhibit their binding to the promoters of several key flowering regulatory genes,including FRUITFUL(FUL),LEAFY(LFY),APETALA1(AP1),and MIR172C,thus downregulating their transcript levels and delaying flowering.Under simulated shade conditions,levels of SPL3/4/5 proteins increase,whereas levels of FHY3 and FAR1 proteins decline,thus releasing SPL3/4/5 from FHY3/FAR1 inhibition to allow activation of FUL,LFY,AP1,and MIR172C and,consequently,early flowering.Taken together,these results unravel a novel mechanism whereby plants regulate flowering time by integrating environmental cues(such as light conditions)and an internal developmental program(the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway).Yurong Xie Qin Zhou Yongping Zhao Quanquan Li Yang Liu Mengdi Ma Baobao Wang Rongxin Shen Zhigang Zheng Haiyang Wang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,3:8
