| 1 | Characteristics of ozone and ozone precursors(VOCs and NOx) around a petroleum refinery in Beijing, China显示文摘A field measurement campaign for ozone and ozone precursors(VOCs and NOx) was conducted in summer 2011 around a petroleum refinery in the Beijing rural region. Three observation sites were arranged, one at southwest of the refinery as the background, and two at northeast of the refinery as the downwind receptors. Monitoring data revealed the presence of serious surface O3 pollution with the characteristics of high average daily mean and maximum concentrations(64.0 and 145.4 ppbV in no-rain days, respectively) and multi-peak diurnal variation. For NOx, the average hourly concentrations of NO2 and NO were in the range of 20.5–46.1 and 1.8–6.4 ppbV, respectively. For VOC measurement, a total of 51 compounds were detected. Normally, TVOCs at the background site was only dozens of ppbC, while TVOCs at the downwind sites reached several hundreds of ppbC. By subtracting the VOC concentrations at background, chemical profiles of VOC emission from the refinery were obtained, mainly including alkanes(60.0% ± 4.3%), alkenes(21.1% ± 5.5%) and aromatics(18.9% ± 3.9%). Moreover, some differences in chemical profiles for the same measurement hours were observed between the downwind sites; the volume ratios of alkanes with low reactivity and those of alkenes with high reactivity respectively showed an increasing trend and a decreasing trend. | 2 | A comprehensive classification method for VOC emission sources to tackle air pollution based on VOC species reactivity and emission amounts显示文摘In China, volatile organic compound(VOC) control directives have been continuously released and implemented for important sources and regions to tackle air pollution. The corresponding control requirements were based on VOC emission amounts(EA), but never considered the significant differentiation of VOC species in terms of atmospheric chemical reactivity. This will adversely influence the effect of VOC reduction on air quality improvement. Therefore,this study attempted to develop a comprehensive classification method for typical VOC sources in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region(BTH), by combining the VOC emission amounts with the chemical reactivities of VOC species. Firstly, we obtained the VOC chemical profiles by measuring 5 key sources in the BTH region and referencing another 10 key sources, and estimated the ozone formation potential(OFP) per ton VOC emission for these sources by using the maximum incremental reactivity(MIR) index as the characteristic of source reactivity(SR). Then, we applied the data normalization method to respectively convert EA and SR to normalized EA(NEA) and normalized SR(NSR) for various sources in the BTH region.Finally, the control index(CI) was calculated, and these sources were further classified into four grades based on the normalized CI(NCI). | 4 | Jurassic Intra-plate Basaltic Magmatism in Southeast China:Evidence from Geological and Geochemical Characteristics of the Chebu Gabbroite in Southern Jiangxi Province显示文摘Geochemical and isotopic investigations have been carried out on the Chebu gabbroite in southern Jiangxi Province, southeast China and these results are compared with gabbro bodies along the coast of Fujian Province in order to understand their magma sources and tectonic implications. The Chebu intrusion formed at the beginning of the Middle Jurassic (172±4.3 Ma). These rocks are Ti-rich and Al-poor in major elements, characterized by strong enrichment in large-ion lithophile elements (LILE) and moderate enrichment in high field strength elements (HFSE) and light rare-earth elements (LREE), without pronounced Nb or Ta anomalies. Age-correlated Sr-Nd isotope ratios show moderately high ranges of (87Sr/86Sr)i from 0.7065 to 0.7086 and 0.5124 to 0.5125 of (143Nd/144Nd)i. The geochemical characteristics of the Chebu gabbroite suggest that it is notably different from island-arc basalt and similar to intra-plate basaltic rocks. By combining interpretations of its geological and geochemical characteristics and the regional geological development history, the Chebu gabbroitic intrusion is thought to be the product of asthenosphere upwelling and rapid lithosphere extension during a transition of tectonic systems in southeast China. | 6 | Dietary nano-selenium alleviated intestinal damage of juvenile grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)induced by high-fat diet:Insight from intestinal morphology,tight junction,inflammation,anti-oxidization and intestinal microbiota显示文摘In recent years,high-fat diet(HFD)has been widely applied in aquaculture,which reduces the intestinal health of cultured fish.The current study evaluated the protective effects of nano-selenium(nano-Se)on intestinal health of juvenile grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)fed with HFD.A total of 135 experimental fish were fed with a regular diet(Con),a HFD(HFD)and a HFD containing nano-Se at 0.6 mg/kg(HSe)for 10 weeks.The results showed that dietary nano-Se significantly improved the survival rate and feed efficiency which were reduced by HFD in juvenile grass carp(P<0.05).Also,nano-Se(0.6 mg/kg)supplement alleviated intestinal damage caused by the HFD,thus maintaining the integrity of the intestine.Moreover,it significantly up-regulated the expression of genes related to tight junction(ZO-1,claudin-3 and occludin),anti-oxidization(GPx4a and GPx4b),and the protein of ZO-1 in the intestine of juvenile grass carp,which were depressed by the HFD(P<0.05).Furthermore,nano-Se supplementation significantly suppressed the expressions of genes related to the inflammation,including inflammatory cytokines(IL-8,IL-1β,IFN-γ,TNF-αand IL-6),signaling molecules(TLR4,p38 MAPK and NF-kB p65),and protein expression of NF-kB p65 and TNF-αin the intestine of juvenile grass carp which were induced by the HFD(P<0.05).Besides,dietary nano-Se normalized the intestinal microbiota imbalance of juvenile grass carp caused by the HFD through increasing the abundance of the beneficial bacteria,e.g.,Fusobacteria.Finally,dietary nano-Se increased the production of short chain fatty acids(SCFA)in the intestine,especially for butyric acid and caproic acid,which were negatively related to the increase of intestinal permeability and inflammation.In summary,supply of nano-Se(0.6 mg/kg)in HFD could effectively alleviate intestinal injury of juvenile grass carp by improving intestinal barrier function and reducing intestinal inflammation and oxidative stress.These positive effects may be due to the regulation of nano-Se on intestinal microbiota and the subsequently increased beneficial SCFA levels. | Sha Liu Haibo Yu Pengju Li Chi Wang Guohao Liu Xiaotian Zhang Cheng Zhang Meng Qi Hong Ji | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,1: | 4 |

| 8 | Room-Temperature Assembled MXene-Based Aerogels for High Mass-Loading Sodium-Ion Storage显示文摘Low-temperature assembly of MXene nanosheets into three-dimensional(3D) robust aerogels addresses the crucial stability concern of the nano-building blocks during the fabrication process,which is of key importance for transforming the fascinating properties at the nanoscale into the macroscopic scale for practical applications.Herein,suitable cross-linking agents(amino-propyltriethoxysilane,Mn^(2+),Fe^(2+),Zn^(2+),and Co^(2+)) as interfacial mediators to engineer the interlayer interactions are reported to realize the graphene oxide(GO)-assisted assembly of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene aerogel at room temperature.This elaborate aerogel construction not only suppresses the oxidation degradation of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) but also generates porous aerogels with a high Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) content(87 wt%) and robustness,thereby guaranteeing the functional accessibility of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) nanosheets and operational reliability as integrated functional materials.In combination with a further sulfur modification,the Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) aerogel electrode shows promising electrochemical performances as the freestanding anode for sodium-ion storage.Even at an ultrahigh loading mass of 12.3 mg cm^(-2),a pronounced areal capacity of 1.26 mAh cm^(-2) at a current density of 0.1 A g^(-1) has been achieved,which is of practical significance.This work conceptually suggests a new way to exert the utmost surface functionalities of MXenes in 3D monolithic form and can be an inspiring scaffold to promote the application of MXenes in different areas. | Fei Song Jian Hu Guohao Li Jie Wang Shuijiao Chen Xiuqiang Xie Zhenjun Wu Nan Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,2: | 1 |

| 14 | Air pollutant emissions from the asphalt industry in Beijing,China显示文摘Improving our understanding of air pollutant emissions fromthe asphalt industry is critical for the development and implementation of pollution control policies.In this study,the spatial distribution of potential maximum emissions of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in the complete life cycle of asphaltmixtures,as well as the particulate matter(PM),asphalt fume,nonmethane hydrocarbons(NMHCs),VOCs,and benzoapyrene(BaP)emissions from typical processes(e.g.,asphalt and concrete mixing stations,asphalt heating boilers,and asphalt storage tanks)in asphalt mixing plants,were determined in Beijing in 2017.The results indicated that the potential maximum emissions of VOCs in the complete life cycle of asphalt mixtures were 18,001 ton,with a large contribution from the districts of Daxing,Changping,and Tongzhou.The total emissions of PM,asphalt fume,NMHC,VOCs,and BaP from asphalt mixing plants were 3.1,12.6,3.1,23.5,and 1.9×10^(−3)ton,respectively.The emissions of PMfromasphalt and concretemixing stations contributed themost to the total emissions.The asphalt storage tankwas the dominant emission source of VOCs,accounting for 96.1%of the total VOCs emissions in asphalt mixing plants,followed by asphalt heating boilers.The districts of Daxing,Changping,and Shunyi were the dominant regions for the emissions of PM,asphalt fume,NMHC,and BaP,while the districts of Shunyi,Tongzhou,and Changping contributed the most emissions of VOCs. | Song Qu Shoubin Fan Gang Wang Wanqing He Kangli Xu Lei Nie Yuncheng Zhao Qingchun Zhu Tingting Li Guohao Li | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,11: | 1 |
| 15 | Nanoparticle enhanced combination therapy for stem-like progenitors defined by single-cell transcriptomics in chemotherapy-resistant osteosarcoma显示文摘The adaptation of osteosarcoma cells to therapeutic pressure impedes the efficacy of chemotherapy for osteosarcoma.However,the characteristics and cellular organization of therapy-resistant cells in osteosarcoma tumors remain elusive.Here,we utilized single-cell transcriptomics to systematically map the cell-type-specific gene expression in a chemotherapy-resistant osteosarcoma tumor.Our data demonstrated the VEGFR2-JMJD3-abundant subsets as quiescent stem-like cells,thereby establishing the hierarchy of therapy-resistant actively cycling progenitor pools(JMJD3-abundant)in osteosarcoma.VEGFR2 inhibitor and JMJD3 inhibitor synergistically impeded osteosarcoma cell propagation and tumor growth.Although osteosarcoma cells are predisposed to apoptosis induced by the synergistic therapy through activation of the CHOP pro-apoptotic factor via the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress,the stem-like/progenitor cells exhibit an adaptive response,leading to their survival.Reduction in cellular glutathione levels in stem-like/progenitor cells caused by the treatment with a glutathione synthesis inhibitor increases ER stress-induced apoptosis.Importantly,the marked therapeutic improvement of synergistic therapy against stem-like/progenitor cells was achieved by using glutathione-scavenging nanoparticles,which can load and release the drug pair effectively.Overall,our study provides a framework for understanding glutathione signaling as one of the therapeutic vulnerabilities of stem-like/progenitor cells.Broadly,these findings revealed a promising arsenal by encapsulating glutathione-scavenging nanoparticles with co-targeting VEGFR2 and JMJD3 to eradicate chemotherapy-resistant osteosarcoma. | Li Wang Xiaojia Huang Xinru You Tianqi Yi Bing Lu Jiali Liu Guohao Lu Minglin Ma Changye Zou Jun Wu Wei Zhao | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 1 |
| 16 | Diversity and connectedness of brine shrimp viruses in global hypersaline ecosystems显示文摘Brine shrimp(Artemia)has existed on Earth for 400 million years and has major ecological importance in hypersaline ecosystems.As a crucial live food in aquaculture,brine shrimp cysts have become one of the most important aquatic products traded worldwide.However,our understanding of the biodiversity,prevalence and global connectedness of viruses in brine shrimp is still very limited.A total of 143 batches of brine shrimp(belonging to seven species)cysts were collected from six continents including 21 countries and more than 100 geographic locations worldwide during 1977–2019.In total,55 novel RNA viruses were identified,which could be assigned to 18 different viral families and related clades.Eleven viruses were dsRNA viruses,16 were+ssRNA viruses,and 28 were−ssRNA viruses.Phylogenetic analyses of the RNA-directed RNA polymerase(RdRp)showed that brine shrimp viruses were often grouped with viruses isolated from other invertebrates and fungi.Remarkably,most brine shrimp viruses were related to those from different hosts that might feed on brine shrimp or share the same ecological niche.A notable case was the novel brine shrimp noda-like virus 3,which shared 79.25%(RdRp)and 63.88%(capsid proteins)amino acid identity with covert mortality nodavirus(CMNV)that may cause losses in aquaculture.In addition,both virome composition and phylogenetic analyses revealed global connectedness in certain brine shrimp viruses,particularly among Asia and Northern America.This highlights the incredible species diversity of viruses in these ancient species and provides essential data for the prevalence of RNA viruses in the global aquaculture industry.More broadly,these findings provide novel insights into the previously unrecognized RNA virosphere in hypersaline ecosystems worldwide and demonstrate that human activity might have driven the global connectedness of brine shrimp viruses. | Xuan Dong Cixiu Li Yiting Wang Tao Hu Fan Zhang Fanzeng Meng Meirong Gao Xuekai Han Guohao Wang Jiahao Qin Hans Nauwynck Edward CHolmes Patrick Sorgeloos Liying Sui Jie Huang Weifeng Shi | 2024 | Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,1: | 0 |

| 18 | Design and simulation of a novel E-mode GaN MIS-HEMT based on a cascode connection for suppression of electric field under gate and improvement of reliability显示文摘We proposed a novel Al Ga N/Ga N enhancement-mode(E-mode) high electron mobility transistor(HEMT) with a dual-gate structure and carried out the detailed numerical simulation of device operation using Silvaco Atlas. The dual-gate device is based on a cascode connection of an E-mode and a D-mode gate. The simulation results show that electric field under the gate is decreased by more than 70% compared to that of the conventional E-mode MIS-HEMTs(from 2.83 MV/cm decreased to 0.83 MV/cm). Thus, with the discussion of ionized trap density, the proposed dual-gate structure can highly improve electric field-related reliability, such as, threshold voltage stability. | 20 | Study of enhancement-mode GaN pFET with H plasma treated gate recess显示文摘This letter showcases the successful fabrication of an enhancement-mode(E-mode)buried p-channel GaN fieldeffect-transistor on a standard p-GaN/AlGaN/GaN-on-Si power HEMT substrate.The transistor exhibits a threshold voltage(VTH)of−3.8 V,a maximum ON-state current(ION)of 1.12 mA/mm,and an impressive ION/IOFF ratio of 10^(7).To achieve these remarkable results,an H plasma treatment was strategically applied to the gated p-GaN region,where a relatively thick GaN layer(i.e.,70 nm)was kept intact without aggressive gate recess.Through this treatment,the top portion of the GaN layer was converted to be hole-free,leaving only the bottom portion p-type and spatially separated from the etched GaN surface and gateoxide/GaN interface.This approach allows for E-mode operation while retaining high-quality p-channel characteristics. | Xiaotian Gao Guohao Yu Jiaan Zhou Zheming Wang Yu Li Jijun Zhang Xiaoyan Liang Zhongming Zeng Baoshun Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,11: | 0 |
