2Carbonaceous particles in Muztagh Ata ice core,West Kunlun Mountains,China显示文摘Carbonaceous particles concentrations of OC and EC are determined using a two-step gas chroma-tography system in Muztagh Ata ice core covering the time period of 1955―2000.Over the period rep-resented by the core,OC and EC concentrations appear to have changed significantly,varied in the range of 17.7―216.7 and 6.5―124.6,and averaged 61.8,32.9 ng·g-1,respectively.The average concen-tration of EC in Muztagh Ata ice core is much lower than that in an Alpine ice core record(100―300 ng·g-1) during the same period,but it is a factor of 14 in Greenland ice core(2.3 ng·g-1),this may induce a strong impact on the snow albedo in the last 46 years in our study area.Observations indicate two periods with obviously high deposition concentrations(1955―1965 and 1974―1989) and two periods with low concentrations(1966―1973 and 1990―1995),as well as a recent increasing trend.By com-paring EC and SO42- concentration variations and deciphering OC/EC ratios recorded in the same ice core,we can judge roughly that the carbonaceous particles deposited in Muztagh Ata ice core were attributed to fossil fuel combustion sources.LIU XianQin XU BaiQing YAO TanDong WANG NingLian WU GuangJian 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,21:2

5Genomes of 12 fig wasps provide insights into the adaptation of pollinators to fig syconia显示文摘Figs and fig pollinators are one of the few classic textbook examples of obligate pollination mutualism.The specific dependence of fig pollinators on the relatively safe living environment with sufficient food sources in the enclosed fig syconia implies that they are vulnerable to habitat changes.However,there is still no extensive genomic evidence to reveal the evolutionary footprint of this long-term mutually beneficial symbiosis in fig pollinators.In fig syconia,there are also non-pollinator species.The non-pollinator species differ in their evolutionary and life histories from pollinators.We conducted comparative analyses on 11 newly sequenced fig wasp genomes and one previously published genome.The pollinators colonized the figs approximately 66.9 million years ago,consistent with the origin of host figs.Compared with nonpollinators,many more genes in pollinators were subject to relaxed selection.Seven genes were absent in pollinators in response to environmental stress and immune activation.Pollinators had more streamlined gene repertoires in the innate immune system,chemosensory toolbox,and detoxification system.Our results provide genomic evidence for the differentiation between pollinators and nonpollinators.The data suggest that owing to the long-term adaptation to the fig,some genes related to functions no longer required are absent in pollinators.Jinhua Xiao Xianqin Wei Yi Zhou Zhaozhe Xin Yunheng Miao Hongxia Hou Jiaxing Li Dan Zhao Jing Liu Rui Chen Liming Niu Guangchang Ma Wenquan Zhen Shunmin He Jianxia Wang Xunfan Wei Weihao Dou Zhuoxiao Sui Haikuan Zhang Shilai Xing Miao Shi Dawei Huang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,3:1

10ARHGEF38 as a novel biomarker to predict aggressive prostate cancer显示文摘Prostate cancer(PCa)metastasis is considered the leading cause of cancer death in males.Therapeutic strategies and diagnosis for stage-specific PCa have not been well understood.Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor 38(ARHGEF38)is related to tumor cell polarization and is frequently expressed in PCa.Microarray data of PCa were downloaded from GEO and TCGA databases.A total of 243 DEGs were screened,of which,32 genes were upregulated.The results of enrichment analysis showed the participation of these DEGs in the tumor cell metastasis pathway.ARHGEF38 was significantly up-regulated in the four most prevalent cancers worldwide(p<0.05),and its expression was higher in the tumor samples with higher Gleason score(GS).IHC,qRT-PCR,and western-blot analyses showed the higher expression of ARHGEF38 in PCa than benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).In addition,IHC results demonstrated a higher expression of ARHGEF38 in high-grade PCa than the low-grade PCa.Kun Liu Aixiang Wang Longke Ran Wanfeng Zhang Song Jing Yujing Wang Xianqin Zhang Geli Liu Wang Sen Fangzhou Song 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:0
11Potential treatment with Chinese and Western medicine targeting NSP14 of SARS-CoV-2显示文摘The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is a serious global health threat.This raises an urgent need for the development of effective drugs against the deadly disease.SARS-CoV-2 non-structural protein 14(NSP14)carrying RNA cap guanine N7-methyltransferase and 30-50 exoribonuclease activities could be a potential drug target for intervention.NSP14 of SARS-CoV-2 shares 98.7%of similarity with the one(PDB 5NFY)of acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)by ClustalW.Then,the SARS-CoV-2 NSP14 structures were modelled by Modeller 9.18 using SARS NSP14(PDB 5NFY)as template for virtual screening.Based on the docking score from AutoDock Vina1.1.2,18 small molecule drugs were selected for further evaluation.Based on the 5 ns MD simulation trajectory,binding free energy(DG)was calculated by MM/GBSA method.The calculated binding free energies of Saquinavir,Hypericin,Baicalein and Bromocriptine for the N-terminus of the homology model wereà37.2711±3.2160,à30.1746±3.1914,à23.8953±4.4800,andà34.1350±4.3683 kcal/mol,respectively,while the calculated binding free energies wereà60.2757±4.7708,à30.9955±2.9975,à46.3099±3.5689,andà59.8104±3.5389 kcal/mol,respectively,when binding to the C-terminus.Thus,the compounds including Saquinavir,Hypericin,Baicalein and Bromocriptine could bind to the N-terminus and C-terminus of the homology model of the SARS-CoV-2 NSP14,providing a candidate drug against SARS-CoV-2 for further study.Chao Liu Xiaoxiao Zhu Yiyao Lu Xianqin Zhang Xu Jia Tai Yang 2021Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2021,11,3:0
