1A feasible strategy for focal cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury: remote ischemic postconditioning显示文摘It is difficult to control the degree of ischemic postconditioning in the brain and other ischemia-sensitive organs.Remote ischemic postconditioning could protect some ischemia-sensitive organs through measures on terminal organs.In this study,a focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model was established using three cycles of remote ischemic postconditioning,each cycle consisted of 10-minute occlusion of the femoral artery and 10-minute opening.The results showed that,remote ischemic postconditioning significantly decreased the percentage of the infarct area and attenuated brain edema.In addition,inflammatory nuclear factor-κB expression was significantly lower,while anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 expression was significantly elevated in the cerebral cortex on the ischemic side.Our findings indicate that remote ischemic postconditioning attenuates focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,and that the neuroprotective mechanism is mediated by an anti-apoptotic effect and reduction of the inflammatory response.Qiang Liu Shengnian Zhou Yaodong Wang Fang Qi Yuan Song Siwei Long 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,15:21
2Celastrus orbiculatus extract induces mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the apoptotic effects and underlying molecular mechanisms of Celastrus orbiculatus(C.orbiculatus) extract in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells.METHODS:Human hepatocellular carcinoma cells(HCCLM6) were treated with C.orbiculatus extract(COE) at different nontoxic concentrations(10,20,40,80,and 160 μg/mL).The effect of COE on HC-CLM6 viability was examined using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assays.Cellular apoptosis following COE treatment was assessed by flow cytometry and western blot analysis.RESULTS:COE significantly inhibited cell viability and induced apoptosis of HCCLM6 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Apoptosis was accompanied by increased Bax expression and decreased Bcl-2 expression.In addition,COE treatment led to the release of cytochrome c,activation of caspase-3,and cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP).Furthermore,activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),p38 kinase,and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) phosphorylation,and down-regulation of Akt phosphorylation was observed.CONCLUSION:COE induces mitochondrial-mediated,caspase-dependent apoptosis in HCCLM6 cells,which might be attributed to the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and inhibition of Akt signaling pathways.These data suggest that COE may be a potential treatment for human hepatocellular carcinoma.Hua Zhang Yayun Qian Yanqing Liu Guoqing Li Pingfang Cui Yaodong Zhu Hui Ma Xue Ji Shiyu Guo Hisamits Tadashi 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:18

4Application and improvement of an adaptive ensemble Kalman filter for soil moisture data assimilation显示文摘Accurate assignment of model and observation errors is crucial for the successful application of land surface data assimilation algorithms. Poorly-specified model and observation errors can significantly degrade assimilation results. In 2008, Reichle et al. developed an operational procedure to adaptively tune model and observation errors. In this paper, we modified and applied Reichle's procedure in the Noah land surface model to assimilate observed surface soil moisture data. 6Ganglioside promotes the bridging of sciatic nerve defects in cryopreserved peripheral nerve allografts显示文摘Previous studies have shown that exogenous gangliosides promote nervous system regeneration and synapse formation.In this study,10 mm sciatic nerve segments from New Zealand rabbits were thawed from cryopreservation and were used for the repair of left sciatic nerve defects through allograft bridging.Three days later,1 m L ganglioside solution(1 g/L) was subcutaneously injected into the right hind leg of rabbits.Compared with non-injected rats,muscle wet weight ratio was increased at 2–12 weeks after modeling.The quantity of myelinated fibers in regenerated sciatic nerve,myelin thickness and fiber diameter were elevated at 4–12 weeks after modeling.Sciatic nerve potential amplitude and conduction velocity were raised at 8 and 12 weeks,while conduction latencies were decreased at 12 weeks.Experimental findings indicate that ganglioside can promote the regeneration of sciatic nerve defects after repair with cryopreserved peripheral nerve allografts.Yaodong Wang Yuguang Liu Qiang Liu 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,20:6
7Dynamics of NDVI and its influencing factors in the Chinese Loess Plateau during 2002-2018显示文摘Understanding the spatio-temporal changes of vegetation and its climatic control factors can provide an important theoretical basis for the protection and restoration of eco-environments.In this study,we analyzed the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)in the Chinese Loess Plateau(CLP)from 2002 to 2018 via trend analysis,stability analysis,and Mann-Kendall mutation test to investigate the change of vegetation.In addition,we also used the skewness analysis and correlation analysis to explore the contribution of climate change and human activities on regional vegetation changes.The results indicated that the overall increasing trend of NDVI from 2002 to 2018 was significant The areas showing increased NDVI were mainly distributed in the south-eastern CLP and the irrigation districts of the Yellow River to the north and west of the CLP,while the areas showing decreased NDVl were concentrated in the desert of the westem Ordos Plateau,Longzhong Loess Plateau,and the built-up and adjacent areas.Precipitation was the dominant factor contributing to vegetation growth in the CLP,while vegetation was less dependent onprecipitation in the irigation districts.The increasement of NDVI has led to a prolonged responsetime of vegetation to water stress and a lag effect of less than two months in the CLP.The effect of temperature on NDVI was not significant;significant negative correlations between NDVI and temperature were found only in the desert,the Guanzhong Plain,the southem Liupan Mountains,and the southeastem Taihang Mountains,owing to high temperatures,urban heat islands,and large cloud cover in mountainous areas.Affected by the'Grain for Green Program'(GGP),NDVIin the CLP increased from 2002 to 2018;however,the increasing trends of NDNI for differentvegetation cover types were significantly different owing to the difference in background status.The increasing contribution rate of NDVI in the CLP mainly came from crops and steppes.Urban not only led to the destruction of vegetation but also had radiation effect causing negative impact of NDVI around the cities.This resulted in the aggravation of the negative bias of NDVI with time in the CLP.The results provide a long-term perspective for regional vegetation protection and utilization in the CLP.Peng He Lishuai Xu Zhengchun Liu Yaodong Jing Wenbo Zhu 2021Regional Sustainability2021,2,1:4
8Size,morphology,and composition of lunar samples returned by Chang'E-5 mission显示文摘This study focuses on the physical and chemical properties of surficial lunar regolith(LR)samples returned from the Moon by the Chang’E-5(CE-5)mission.Insights regarding the effect of a new sampling geological site on the surficial lunar sample CE5 C0400 were illustrated using nondestructive techniques such as laser diffractometry coupled with image analysis,X-ray computed tomography,and field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Xray diffraction combined with Rietveld refinement.From the characterization analyses,the CE-5 sampling site in the northeastern Oceanus Procellarum on the Moon yields a unique collection of relatively regular-shaped and fine basalt-dominated particles.The median grain size D_(50) is(55.24±0.96)μm,falling within the relatively low end of the range of the Apollo lunar returned samples.The coefficient of uniformity C_(u)of 15.1 and the coefficient of curvature C_(c)of 1.7 could classify CE5 C0400 to be well-graded.The minerals in CE5 C0400 comprise approximately 44.5%pyroxene,30.4%plagioclase,3.6%olivine,and6.0%ilmenite.There is a relatively low content of approximately 15.5%glass phase in the CE-5 lunar sample.From the results,we deduce that the CE-5 LR structure could have mainly resulted from micrometeoroid impacts to achieve such a high level of maturity.Hui Zhang Xian Zhang Guang Zhang Keqi Dong Xiangjin Deng Xiaosong Gao Yaodong Yang Yuan Xiao Xiao Bai Kaixin Liang Yiwei Liu Wenbin Ma Shaofan Zhao Ce Zhang Xiaojing Zhang Jian Song Wei Yao Hong Chen Weihua Wang Zhigang Zou Mengfei Yang 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,2:4

14Improved SAL method and its application to verifying regional soil moisture forecasting显示文摘The regional verification of soil moisture is a vital step in evaluating and improving numerical model performance and utilizing forecast results. Currently, even with improved spatial and temporal resolutions of numerical model, verification methods for soil moisture data still rely on the traditional intensity verification parameters, such as mean error(ME) and root-mean-squared error(RMSE). Those methods provide only incomplete and sometimes inaccurate messages and thus hinder a proper evaluation of a forecast model. The SAL method is an object-based regional verification method with respect to precipitation forecasts. Based on the SAL method, a novel object-based method(SAL-DN) is proposed here, which can be used to test regional soil moisture. Both the ideal experiment and real experiment show that the SAL-DN method can reveal the differences between the observed and forecast soil moisture in three aspects: structure, amplitude, and location, and the results can reflect the actual situation. Furthermore, compared with the SAL method, the SAL-DN method is also capable of verifying physical quantities with high-value and low-value centers like temperature.
