2Collision Tectonics between the Tarim Block(Basin)and the Northwestern Tibet Plateau:New Observations from a Multidisciplinary Geoscientific Investigation in the Western Kunlun Mountains显示文摘New results from deep seismic reflection profiling, wide-angle reflection-refraction profiling and broadband seismic experiments reveal that a series of south-dipping reflectors occur on the southern margin of the Tarim block (basin). However, it is these south-dipping structures that are intercepted by another series of north-dipping reflectors at depths from 30 to about 150 km beneath the foreland of the W Kunlun Mountains. No evidence from the above geophysical data as well as geochemical and surface geological data indicate the southward subduction of the Tarim block beneath the W Kunlun Mountains (NW Tibet plateau), forming the so-called “two-sided subduction” model for the Tibet plateau as proposed by previous studies. So the authors infer that the tectonic interaction between the Tarim block and the W Kunlun block was chiefly affected by a “horizontal compression in opposite directions”, which brought about “face-to-face contact” between these two lithospheric blocks and led to the thickening, shortening and densifying of the lithosphere. Hence a “delamination” was formed due to the gravitational instability created by the thickening and densifying; then alkaline basic volcanic rocks (mainly shoshonite series) was erupted along the northern margin of the Tibet plateau owing to the delamination. This inference for the formation of the alkaline basic volcanics has been confirmed by recent geochemical and petrological studies in Tibet, indicating that different contacts control different magmatic activities: the alkali basalts are always developed in the “horizontal shortening boundary (contact)” on the northern margin of the Tibet plateau, while the muscovite granite and two-mica granite (leucogranite) in the “subductional contact” on the southern margin of the Tibet plateau.XIAO Xuchang LIU Xun GAO Rui Houn KAO LUO Zhaohua 2001Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2001,75,2:19
3Survival of transplanted neurotrophin-3 expressing human neural stem cells and motor function in a rat model of spinal cord injury显示文摘<正>BACKGROUND:Many methods have been attempted to repair nerves following spinal cord injury, including peripheral nerve transplantation,Schwann cell transplantation,olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation,and embryonic neural tissue transplantation.However,there is a need for improved outcomes. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the repair feasibility for rat spinal cord injury using human neural stem cells(hNSCs) genetically modified by lentivirus to express neurotrophin-3. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:In vitro cell biological experiment and in vivo randomized,controlled, genetic engineering experiment were performed at the Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA and First People's Hospital of Yibin,China from March 2006 to December 2007. MATERIALS:A total of 64 adult,female,Wistar rats were used for the in vivo study.Of them,48 rats were used to establish models of spinal cord hemisection,and were subsequently equally and randomly assigned to model,genetically modified hNSC,and normal hNSC groups.The remaining 16 rats served as normal controls. METHODS:hNSCs were in vitro genetically modified by lentivirus to secrete both green fluorescence protein and neurotrophin-3.Neurotrophin-3 expression was measured by Western blot. Genetically modified hNSC or normal hNSC suspension(5×10~5) was injected into the rat spinal cord following T_(10) spinal cord hemisection.A total of 5μL Dulbecco's-modified Eagle's medium was infused into the rat spinal cord in the model group.Transgene expression and survival of transplanted hNSCs were determined by immunohistochemistry.Motor function was evaluated using the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan(BBB) scale. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The following parameters were measured:expression of neurotrophin-3 produced by genetically modified hNSCs,transgene expression and survival of hNSCs in rats,motor function in rats. RESULTS:hNSCs were successfully genetically modified by lentivirus to stably express neurotrophin-3.The transplanted hNSCs primarily gathered at,or around,the injection site two weeks following transplantation,and gradually migrated towards the surrounding tissue. Transplanted hNSCs were observed 7.0-8.0 mm away from the injection site.In addition,hNSCs were observed 10 weeks after transplantation.At week 4,BBB locomotor scores were significantly greater in the genetically modified hNSC and normal hNSC groups,compared with the model group (P<0.05),and scores were significantly greater in the genetically modified hNSC group compared with the normal hNSC group(P<0.05). 4Single-cell transcriptomic analysis defines the interplay between tumor cells,viral infection,and the microenvironment in nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is an Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)-associated malignancy with a complex tumor ecosystem.How the interplay between tumor cells,EBV,and the microenvironment contributes to NPC progression and immune evasion remains unclear.Here we performed single-cell RNA sequencing on^104,000 cells from 19 EBV^+NPCs and 7 nonmalignant nasopharyngeal biopsies,simultaneously profiling the transcriptomes of malignant cells,EBV,stromal and immune cells.Overall,we identified global upregulation of interferon responses in the multicellular ecosystem of NPC.Notably,an epithelial–immune dual feature of malignant cells was discovered and associated with poor prognosis.Functional experiments revealed that tumor cells with this dual feature exhibited a higher capacity for tumorigenesis.Further characterization of the cellular components of the tumor microenvironment(TME)and their interactions with tumor cells revealed that the dual feature of tumor cells was positively correlated with the expression of co-inhibitory receptors on CD8^+tumor-infiltrating T cells.In addition,tumor cells with the dual feature were found to repress IFN-γproduction by T cells,demonstrating their capacity for immune suppression.Our results provide new insights into the multicellular ecosystem of NPC and offer important clinical implications.Shanzhao Jin Ruoyan Li Ming-Yuan Chen Chao Yu Lin-Quan Tang Yan-Min Liu Jiang-Ping Li Yi-Na Liu Yi-Ling Luo Yifan Zhao Yu Zhang Tian-Liang Xia Shang-Xin Liu Qi Liu Guan-Nan Wang Rui You Jing-Yun Peng Jiang Li Feng Han Jianwei Wang Qiu-Yan Chen Li Zhang Hai-Qiang Mai Benjamin E.Gewurz Bo Zhao Lawrence S.Young Qian Zhong Fan Bai Mu-Sheng Zeng 2020Cell Research2020,30,11:16
5Oroxindin inhibits macrophage NLRP3 inflammasome activation in DSS-induced ulcerative colitis in mice via suppressing TXNIP-dependent NF-κB pathway显示文摘Oroxindin is a flavonoid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Huang-Qin,which has shown various pharmacological activities including anti-inflammatory,antitumor,antioxidant,etc.Thus far,the effect of oroxindin on colonic inflammation and the underlying mechanism remain unknown.In this study,we investigated the tissue distribution of oroxindin and its therapeutic effects on ulcerative colitis(UC)as well as the underlying mechanisms.UC model was established in mice by administrating dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)in drinking water for 7 d.We first showed that oroxindin was largely absorbed by the colon as an active ingredient after normal mice received Huang-Qin-Tang,a traditional Chinese medicine decoction.UC mice were then treated with oroxindin(12.5,25,50 mg-kg^-1·d^-1,i.g.)for 10 d.We found that oroxindin treatment greatly suppressed massive macrophages infiltration and attenuated pathological changes in colonic tissue.Furthermore,oroxindin treatment significantly inhibited the generation of IL-13 and IL-18 in the colon via inhibiting the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor 3(NLRP3)inflammasome formation and activation.In cultured macrophages,LPS induced NLRp3 inflammasome formation and caspase-1 activation,which were suppressed by oroxindin(12.5-50μM).In LPS-treated macrophages,oroxindin dose-dependently restored the expression of TXNIP protein,leading to suppressing TXNIP-dependent NF-κB activation.In conclusion,these results demonstrate that oroxindin could be absorbed by the colon and attenuate inflammatory responses via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome formation and activation,which is related to the inhibitory effect on TXNIP-dependent NF-κB-signaling pathway.Hence,oroxindin has the potential of becoming an effective drug for treating UC.Qi Liu Rui Zuo Kai Wang Fei-fei Nong Ya-jun Fu Shao-wei Huang Zeng-feng Pan Yi Zhang Xia Luo Xiang-liang Deng Xiao-xue Zhang Lian Zhou Yang Chen 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,6:15
6Electroacupuncture activates enteric glial cells and protects the gut barrier in hemorrhaged rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether electroacupuncture ST36 activates enteric glial cells,and alleviates gut inflammation and barrier dysfunction following hemorrhagic shock.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to approximately 45% total blood loss and randomly divided into seven groups:(1) sham:cannulation,but no hemorrhage;(2) subjected to hemorrhagic shock(HS);(3) electroacupuncture(EA) ST36 after hemorrhage;(4) vagotomy(VGX)/EA:VGX before hemorrhage,then EA ST36;(5) VGX:VGX before hemorrhage;(6) a-bungarotoxin(BGT)/EA:intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before hemorrhage,then EA ST36; and(7) a-BGT group:a-BGT injection before hemorrhage.Morphological changes in enteric glial cells(EGCs) were observed by immunofluorescence,and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP; a protein marker of enteric glial activation) was evaluated using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.Intestinal cytokine levels,gut permeability to 4-k Da fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)-dextran,and the expression and distribution of tight junction protein zona occludens(ZO)-1 were also determined.RESULTS:EGCs were distorted following hemorrhage and showed morphological abnormalities.EA ST36 attenuated the morphological changes in EGCs at 6 h,as compared with the VGX,a-BGT and HS groups.EA ST36 increased GFAP expression to a greater degree than in the other groups.EA ST36 decreased intestinal permeability to FITC-dextran(760.5 ± 96.43 ng/m L vs 2466.7 ± 131.60 ng/m L,P < 0.05) and preserved ZO-1 protein expression and localization at 6 h afterhemorrhage compared with the HS group.However,abdominal VGX and a-BGT treatment weakened or eliminated the effects of EA ST36.EA ST36 reduced tumor necrosis factor-a levels in intestinal homogenates after blood loss,while vagotomy or intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before EA ST36 abolished its antiinflammatory effects.CONCLUSION:EA ST36 attenuates hemorrhageinduced intestinal inflammatory insult,and protects the intestinal barrier integrity,partly via activation of EGCs.Sen Hu Zeng-Kai Zhao Rui Liu Hai-Bin Wang Chun-Yu Gu Hong-Min Luo Huan Wang Ming-Hua Du Yi Lv Xian Shi 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,5:15
7Total pollution effect of urban surface runoff显示文摘For pollution research with regard to urban surface runoff,most sampling strategies to date have focused on differences in land usage. With single land-use sampling,total surface runoffpollution effect cannot be evaluated unless every land usage spot is monitored. Through a new sampling strategy known as mixed stormwater sampling for a street community at discharge outlet adjacent to river,this study assessed the total urban surface runoffpollution effect caused by a variety of land uses and the pollutants washed off from the rain pipe system in the Futian River watershed in Shenzhen City of China.The water quality monitoring indices were COD(chemical oxygen demand),TSS(total suspend solid),TP(total phosphorus),TN(total nitrogen)and BOD(biochemical oxygen demand).The sums of total pollution loads discharged into the river for the four indices of COD,TSS,TN,and TP over all seven rainfall events were very different.The mathematical model for simulating total pollution loads was established from discharge outlet mixed stormwater sampling of total pollution loads on the basis of four parameters:rainfall intensity,total land area,impervious land area,and pervious land area.In order to treat surface runoffpollution,the values of MFF30(mass first flush ratio)and FF30(first 30%of runoffvolume) can be considered as split-flow control criteria to obtain more effective and economical design of structural BMPs(best management practices)facilities.LUO Hongbing LUO Lin HUANG Gu LIU Ping LI Jingxian HU Sheng WANG Fuxiang XU Rui HUANG Xiaoxue 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9:13

9Management of granulomatous lobular mastitis: an international multidisciplinary consensus(2021 edition)显示文摘Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM) is a rare and chronic benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Difficulties exist in the management of GLM for many front-line surgeons and medical specialists who care for patients with inflammatory disorders of the breast. This consensus is summarized to establish evidence-based recommendations for the management of GLM. Literature was reviewed using PubMed from January 1, 1971 to July 31, 2020. Sixty-six international experienced multidisciplinary experts from 11 countries or regions were invited to review the evidence.Levels of evidence were determined using the American College of Physicians grading system, and recommendations were discussed until consensus. Experts discussed and concluded 30 recommendations on historical definitions,etiology and predisposing factors, diagnosis criteria, treatment, clinical stages, relapse and recurrence of GLM. GLM was recommended as a widely accepted definition. In addition, this consensus introduced a new clinical stages and management algorithm for GLM to provide individual treatment strategies. In conclusion, diagnosis of GLM depends on a combination of history, clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, laboratory examinations and pathology.The approach to treatment of GLM should be applied according to the different clinical stage of GLM. 10Expression and significance of Musashi-1 in gastric cancer and precancerous lesions显示文摘AIM:To investigate expression of stem cell marker Musashi-1(Msi-1)in relationship to tumorigenesis and progression of intestinal-type gastric cancer(GC).METHODS:Endoscopic biopsy specimens and surgical specimens were obtained,including 54 cases of intestinal-type GC,41 high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia,57low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia,31 intestinal metaplasia,and 36 normal gastric mucosa.Specimens were fixed in 10%paraformaldehyde,conventionally dehydrated,embedded in paraffin,and sliced in 4-μm-thick serial sections.Two-step immunohistochemical staining was used to detect Msi-1 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)expression.Correlation analysis was conducted between Msi-1 and PCNA expression.The relationship between Msi-1 expression and clinicopathological parameters of GC was analyzed statistically.RESULTS:There were significant differences in Msi-1and PCNA expression in different pathological tissues(χ2=15.37,P<0.01;χ2=115.36,P<0.01).Msi-1and PCNA-positive cells were restricted to the isthmus of normal gastric glands.Expression levels of Msi-1and PCNA in intestinal metaplasia were significantly higher than in normal mucosa(U=392.0,P<0.05;U=40.50,P<0.01),whereas there was no significant difference compared to low or high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia.Msi-1 and PCNA expression in intestinaltype GC was higher than in high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia(U=798.0,P<0.05;U=688.0,P<0.01).There was a significantly positive correlation between Msi-1 and PCNA expression(rs=0.20,P<0.01).Msi-1expression in GC tissues was correlated with their lymph node metastasis and tumor node metastasis stage(χ2=12.62,P<0.01;χ2=11.24,P<0.05),but not with depth of invasion and the presence of distant metastasis.CONCLUSION:Msi-1-positive cells may play a key role in the early events of gastric carcinogenesis and may be involved in invasion and metastasis of GC.Rong-Guang Kuang Yan Kuang Qing-Feng Luo Cheng-Jun Zhou Rui Ji Jian-Wen Wang 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,39:12
11Carbon pools and fluxes in the China Seas and adjacent oceans显示文摘The China Seas include the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea. Located off the Northwestern Pacific margin, covering 4700000 km^2 from tropical to northern temperate zones, and including a variety of continental margins/basins and depths, the China Seas provide typical cases for carbon budget studies. The South China Sea being a deep basin and part of the Western Pacific Warm Pool is characterized by oceanic features; the East China Sea with a wide continental shelf, enormous terrestrial discharges and open margins to the West Pacific, is featured by strong cross-shelf materials transport; the Yellow Sea is featured by the confluence of cold and warm waters; and the Bohai Sea is a shallow semiclosed gulf with strong impacts of human activities. Three large rivers, the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Pearl River, flow into the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea, and the South China Sea, respectively. The Kuroshio Current at the outer margin of the Chinese continental shelf is one of the two major western boundary currents of the world oceans and its strength and position directly affect the regional climate of China. These characteristics make the China Seas a typical case of marginal seas to study carbon storage and fluxes. This paper systematically analyzes the literature data on the carbon pools and fluxes of the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, including different interfaces(land-sea, sea-air, sediment-water, and marginal sea-open ocean) and different ecosystems(mangroves, wetland, seagrass beds, macroalgae mariculture, coral reefs, euphotic zones, and water column). Among the four seas, the Bohai Sea and South China Sea are acting as CO_2 sources, releasing about0.22 and 13.86–33.60 Tg C yr^(-1) into the atmosphere, respectively, whereas the Yellow Sea and East China Sea are acting as carbon sinks, absorbing about 1.15 and 6.92–23.30 Tg C yr^(-1) of atmospheric CO_2, respectively. Overall, if only the CO_2 exchange at the sea-air interface is considered, the Chinese marginal seas appear to be a source of atmospheric CO_2, with a net release of 6.01–9.33 Tg C yr^(-1), mainly from the inputs of rivers and adjacent oceans. The riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) input into the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 5.04, 14.60, and 40.14 Tg C yr^(-1),respectively. The DIC input from adjacent oceans is as high as 144.81 Tg C yr^(-1), significantly exceeding the carbon released from the seas to the atmosphere. In terms of output, the depositional fluxes of organic carbon in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 2.00, 3.60, 7.40, and 5.92 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The fluxes of organic carbon from the East China Sea and South China Sea to the adjacent oceans are 15.25–36.70 and 43.93 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The annual carbon storage of mangroves, wetlands, and seagrass in Chinese coastal waters is 0.36–1.75 Tg C yr^(-1), with a dissolved organic carbon(DOC) output from seagrass beds of up to 0.59 Tg C yr^(-1). Removable organic carbon flux by Chinese macroalgae mariculture account for 0.68 Tg C yr^(-1) and the associated POC depositional and DOC releasing fluxes are 0.14 and 0.82 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. Thus, in total, the annual output of organic carbon, which is mainly DOC, in the China Seas is 81.72–104.56 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the East China Sea to the adjacent oceans is 15.00–35.00 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the South China Sea is 31.39 Tg C yr^(-1). 12Poor prognosis for hepatocellular carcinoma with transarterial chemoembolization pre-transplantation:Retrospective analysis显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) before liver transplantation(LT) improves long-term survival in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients.METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted among 204 patients with HCC who received LT from January 2002 to December 2010 in PLA General Hospital. Among them, 88 patients received TACE before LT. Prognostic factors of serum α-fetoprotein(AFP), intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion, disease-free survival time, survival time with tumor, number of tumor nodules, tumor size, tumor number, presence of blood vessels and bile duct invasion, lymph node metastasis, degree of tumor differentiation, and preoperative liver function were determined in accordance with the Child-TurcottePugh(Child) classification and model for end-stage liver disease. We also determined time of TACE before transplant surgery and tumor recurrence and metastasis according to different organs. Cumulative survival rate and disease-free survival rate curves were prepared using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the logrank and χ2 tests were used for comparisons.RESULTS: In patients with and without TACE before LT, the 1, 3 and 5-year cumulative survival rate was 70.5% ± 4.9% vs 91.4% ± 2.6%, 53.3% ± 6.0% vs 83.1% ± 3.9%, and 46.2% ± 7.0% vs 80.8% ± 4.5%, respectively. The median survival time of patients with and without TACE was 51.857 ± 5.042 mo vs 80.930 ± 3.308 mo(χ2 = 22.547, P < 0.001, P < 0.05). The 1, 3 and 5-year disease-free survival rates for patients with and without TACE before LT were 62.3% ± 5.2% vs98.9% ± 3.0%, 48.7% ± 6.7% vs 82.1% ± 4.1%, and 48.7% ± 6.7% vs 82.1% ± 4.1%, respectively. The median survival time of patients with and without TACE before LT was 50.386 ± 4.901 mo vs 80.281 ± 3.216 mo(χ2 = 22.063, P < 0.001, P < 0.05). TACE before LT can easily lead to pulmonary or distant metastasis of the primary tumor. 13Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Alzheimer's Disease: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-analysis显示文摘Acupuncture has reportedly improved memory and cognitive impairment in both animal and clinical studies. It may be an effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease (AD). The purpose of this meta-analysis was to review the effectiveness of acupuncture for the treatment of AD. Eight databases were searched for articles published up to and including July 2017, and 13 studies fulfilling the inclusion criteria were identified. The main outcomes assessed were clinical efficacy rate, Mini-Mental State Examination score, Ability of Daily Living Scale score, Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-Cognition score, Hasegawa's Dementia Scale (HDS) score, and adverse events. The methodological quality of the articles was assessed using Cochrane's risk of bias. All the studies compared the efficacy of acupuncture with that of medication, and were published in Chinese journals. Meta-analysis revealed that acupuncture yielded positive results as determined via all the indexes scored except the HDS (95% CI -0.26 to 0.90, Z=0.35, P=0.73). Only one of the studies reported adverse events associated with acupuncture and medication. The rate of adverse events in the medication group was 13%. 14Using borehole core analysis to reveal Late Quaternary paleoearthquakes along the Nankou-Sunhe Fault,Beijing显示文摘The Nankou-Sunhe Fault is a buried active normal fault that traverses the urban area of Beijing.Its seismic risks have caused considerable concerns.This paper studies paleoearthquakes along this fault by analyzing and correlating bore-hole cores obtained from triple-tube coring,incorporating experience acquired from trenching.As a result,a model for identifying earthquake-derived colluvium by sediment-core analysis is proposed.Triple-tube coring technique is useful to collect continuous undis-turbed soil core near the Nankou-Sunhe Fault.By identifying fault-scarp colluviums,determining cumulative displacement,and analysing stratum thickening on the hanging wall,we are able to establish a preliminary paleoearthquake sequence consisting of 13 surface-rupturing events since 60 ka.The seismic history can be divided into three periods based on different recurrence intervals.Between 60 and 40 ka,three earthquakes occurred with recurrence interval of ~10 ka.From 40 to 25 ka,there were six earthquakes with the recurrence interval of about 2.5 ka.In the last 25 ka,four earthquakes have taken place with the recurrence interval varying considerably.The recurrence interval between the last three events is ~5 ka.Smaller recurrence intervals correspond to stages of faster fault slip.The coseismic displacement of a single event is 0.8 to 2.2 m,average 1.4 m,largely equivalent to moment magnitudes 6.7-7.1.This study demonstrates the feasibility of bore-hole drilling in investigating paleoearthquakes along normal faults.It also suggests that closely spaced boreholes with continuous undisturbed cores are essential for reconstructing the complete paleoearthquake sequence.ZHANG ShiMin WANG DanDan LIU XuDong ZHANG GuoHong ZHAO JunXiang LUO MingHui REN JunJie WANG Rui ZHANG YingLi 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,8:11
15Unfolding analysis of LaBr3:Ce gamma spectrum with a detector response matrix constructing algorithm based on energy resolution calibration显示文摘With respect to the gamma spectrum, the energy resolution improves with increase in energy. The counts of full energy peak change with energy, and this approximately complies with the Gaussian distribution. This study mainly examines a method to deconvolve the LaBr_3:Ce gamma spectrum with a detector response matrix constructing algorithm based on energy resolution calibration.In the algorithm, the full width at half maximum(FWHM)of full energy peak was calculated by the cubic spline interpolation algorithm and calibrated by a square root of a quadratic function that changes with the energy. Additionally, the detector response matrix was constructed to deconvolve the gamma spectrum. Furthermore, an improved SNIP algorithm was proposed to eliminate the background. In the experiment, several independent peaks of ^(152)Eu,^(137)Cs, and ^(60)Co sources were detected by a LaBr_3:Ce scintillator that were selected to calibrate the energy resolution. The Boosted Gold algorithm was applied to deconvolve the gamma spectrum. The results showed that the peak position difference between the experiment and the deconvolution was within ± 2 channels and the relative error of peak area was approximately within 0.96–6.74%. 16Clinical value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in the characterization of focal liver lesions:a prospective multicenter trial显示文摘BACKGROUND:Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS) is increasingly accepted in clinical settings for diagnostic imaging of focal liver lesions(FLLs).This study aimed to assess the efficacy of CEUS in the characterization of FLLs in comparison with final diagnosis based on gold standard assessment. METHODS:The study was approved by the local ethics committee and participating patients provided written informed consent.A total of 148 patients with 164 FLLs were studied.Unenhanced ultrasonography(US)and CEUS were performed using fundamental and harmonic imaging,respectively.Contrast enhancement was assessed during the arterial,portal and late vascular phases after intravenous administration of contrast(SonoVue?,Bracco, Italy).Sensitivity,specificity and diagnostic accuracy of USand CEUS were compared in identifying the lesion as benign, malignant or indeterminate and its actual tumor type.Final diagnosis was established by biopsy(129/164),MR imaging (11/164)or medical history(24/164). RESULTS:When compared to the gold standard,the number of indeterminate diagnoses was reduced from 56.7%(93/164)as assessed by fundamental imaging to 6.1%(10/164)after SonoVue?enhanced US examination. Sensitivity and specificity improved from 49%and 25% at baseline US to 93%and 75%with CEUS,respectively (P<0.01).Diagnostic accuracy of CEUS was 88%in contrast to 41%of baseline US. 17Chromosome-Level Reference Genome and Population Genomic Analysis Provide Insights into the Evolution and Improvement of Domesticated Mulberry (Morns alba)显示文摘Mulberry(Morns spp.)is the sole plant consumed by the domesticated silkworm.However,the genome of domesticated mulberry has not yet been sequenced,and the ploidy level of this species remains unclear.Here,we report a high-quality,chromosome-level domesticated mulberry(Morus alba)genome.Analysis of genomic data and karyotype analyses confirmed that M.alba is a diploid with 28 chromosomes(2/7=2x=28).Population genomic analysis based on resequencing of 134 mulberry accessions classified domesticated mulberry into three geographical groups,namely,Taihu Basin of southeastern China(Hu mulberry),northern and southwestern China,and Japan.Hu mulberry had the lowest nucleotide diversity among these accessions and demonstrated obvious signatures of selection associated with environmental adaptation.Further phylogenetic analysis supports a previous proposal that multiple domesticated mulberry accessions previously classified as different species actually belong to one species.This study expands our understanding of genome evolution of the genus Morus and population structure of domesticated mulberry,which would facilitate mulberry breeding and improvement.Feng Jiao Rongsong Luo Xuelei Dai Hui Liu Gang Yu Shuhua Han Xin Lu Chao Su Qi Chen Qinxia Song Caiting Meng Fanghong Li Hongmei Sun Rui Zhang Tian Hui Yonghua Qian Aichun Zhao Yu Jiang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,7:10
18A Low-Complexity PTS Based on Greedy and Genetic Algorithm for OFDM Systems显示文摘Partial transmit sequence(PTS) is one of effective technique to reduce high Peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) in Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) system. However, the complexity of Original PTS(O-PTS) increases exponentially with the number of sub-blocks. To reduce the computational complexity while still offering a lower PAPR, a new PTS method is proposed to search for suboptimal rotating vectors in this paper. In the proposed method, the candidate rotation vectors are generated based on greedy and genetic algorithm.We also combine the proposed method and the superimposed training sequence method to get a further PAPR reduction. 19Metal Sealing Performance of Subsea X-tree Wellhead Connector Sealer显示文摘The metal sealing performance of subsea X-tree wellhead connectors is crucial for the safety and reliability of subsea X-trees. In order to establish the theoretical relation between metal sealing ring's contact stress and its structural parameters and working pressure, a mechanical analysis method for double-cone sealing of high pressure vessels is applied in analyzing the metal sealing ring under the condition of preload and operation. As a result, the formula of the unit sealing load for the metal sealing ring under operation with residual preload is shown in this paper, which ensures that the metal sealing ring has an excellent sealing effect and can prevent the metal sealing ring from yielding. Besides, while analyzing the sealing process of the metal sealing ring, the change rule of contact stress and working pressure is concluded here, putting forward that the structural parameters of the metal sealing ring are the major factors affecting the change rule. Finally, the analytical solution through theoretical analysis is compared with the simulation result through finite element analysis in a force feedback experiment, and both are consistent with each other, which fully verifies for the design and calculation theory on metal sealing ring's contact stress and its structural parameters and working pressure deduced in this paper. 20Effect of heparin on apoptosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE2 cells显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of the effect of heparin on apoptosis in carcinoma cells, the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE2 was used to identify the effect of heparin on apoptosis associated with the expression of c-myc, bax, bcl-2 proteins by use of Hoechst 33258 staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), agarose gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry, as well as Western blot analysis. The results showed that heparin induced apoptosis of CNE2 cells including the morphologic changes such as reduction in the volume, and the nuclear chromatin condensation, as well as the “ladder pattern” revealed by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA in a concentration-dependent manner.The number of TUNEL-positive cells was dramatically increased to 33.6±1.2% from 2.8±0.3% by treat ment with heparin in different concentrations (10~40 kU/L). The apoptotic index was increased to 32.5% from 3.5% by detecting SubG1 peaks on flow cytometry.
