Entecavir vs lamivudine therapy for na?ve patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as acute-on-chronic liver failure显示文摘AIM:To investigate the short-term and long-term efficacy of entecavir versus lamivudine in patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF).METHODS:This was a single center, prospective cohort study.Eligible, consecutive hospitalized patients received either entecavir 0.5 mg/d or lamivudine 100mg/d.All patients were given standard comprehensive internal medicine. The primary endpoint was survival rate at day 60,and secondary endpoints were reduction in hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA and alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels, and improvement in Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP)and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)scores at day 60 and survival rate at week 52.RESULTS:One hundred and nineteen eligible subjects were recruited from 176 patients with severe acute exacerbation of chronic hepatitis B:65 were included in the entecavir group and 54 in the lamivudine group(full analysis set).No significant differences were found in patient baseline clinical parameters. At day 60,entecavir did not improve the probability of survival(P=0.066),despite resulting in faster virological suppression(P<0.001),higher rates of virological response(P<0.05)and greater reductions in the CTP and MELD scores(all P<0.05)than lamivudine.Intriguingly,at week 52,the probability of survival was higher in the entecavir group than in the lamivudine group[42/65(64.6%)vs 26/54(48.1%),respectively;P=0.038].The pretreatment MELD score(B,1.357;95%Cl:2.138-7.062;P=0.000)and virological response at day30(B,1.556;95%Cl:1.811-12.411;P=0.002),were found to be good predictors for 52-wk survival.CONCLUSION:Entecavir significantly reduced HBV DNA levels, decreased the CTP and MELD scores, and thereby improved the long-term survival rate in patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as ACLF.Yang Zhang Xiao-Yu Hu Sen Zhong Fang Yang Tao-You Zhou Guo Chen Yan-Yan Wang Jian-Xing Luo 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,16:42
New vacuum solar telescope and observations with high resolution显示文摘The New Vacuum Solar Telescope(NVST) is a one meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe fine structures on the Sun. The main goals of NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including measurements of the solar magnetic field. NVST is the primary ground-based facility used by the Chinese solar research community in this solar cycle. It is located by Fuxian Lake in southwest China, where the seeing is good enough to perform high resolution observations. We first introduce the general conditions at the Fuxian Solar Observatory and the primary science cases of NVST. Then, the basic structures of this telescope and instruments are described in detail. Finally, some typical high resolution data of the solar photosphere and chromosphere are also shown.Zhong Liu Jun Xu Bo-Zhong Gu Sen Wang Jian-Qi You Long-Xiang Shen Ru-Wei Lu Zhen-Yu Jin Lin-Fei Chen Ke Lou Zhi Li Guang-Qian Liu Zhi Xu Chang-Hui Rao Qi-Qian Hu Ru-Feng Li Hao-Wen Fu Feng Wang Men-Xian Bao Ming-Chan Wu Bo-Rong Zhang 2014Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2014,14,6:37

The effects of anisodamine and dobutamine on gut mucosal blood flow during gut ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘AIM:To detemine if anisodamine is able to augment mucsal perfusion during gut I/R ischemia-reperfusion METHODS:A jejunal sac was formend in Sperague Dawley rat.A Laser Doppler probe and a tonometer were inserted into the sac thich was filled with saline. The superior mesenteric artery was occluded(SMAO)for 60 minutes followed by 90 minutes of reperfusion. At the end of 60 minutes of SMAO.either 0.2mg/kg of anisodmine or dobutamine was injected into the jejunal sac.Lase Doppler mucosal blood flow and regional PCO2(PrCO2) measurements were made .RESULTS:Mucosal blood flow was significantly increased at 30,60 and 90 minutes of reperfusion(R30,R60,R90)when intraluminal anisodamine or dobutamine was present compared to intraluminal saline only(44±3.3%or 48±4.1%vs 37±2.6%at R30,57±5.0%,57±5.0%or56±4.7%vs45±2.7%at R60,64±3.3%or56±4.2%.vs48±3.4%at R90,respectively P<0.05),Blood flow changes were also reflected by lowering of jejunal PrCO2 measurements after imtraluminal anisodamine or dobutamine compared with that of the saline controls(41±3.1mmHg or 44±3.0mmHg vs49±3.7mmHg at R30,38±3.7mmHg or 40±2.1mmHg vs47±3.8mmHg at R60,34±2.1mmHg or 39±3.0mmHg vs46±3.4mmHg at R90,respectively,P<0.05),Most interesting finding was that there were significantly higher mucosal blood flow and lower jejunal PrCO2 in anisodamine group than those in dobutamine group at 90 minutes of reperfusion(64±3.3%vs56±4.2%for blood flow or 34±2.1mmHg vs39±3.0mmHg for PrCOs,respectively,P<0.05).suggesting that anisodamine had a more lasting effect on mucosal perfusion than dobutamine.CONCLUSION.Intraluminal anisodamine and dobutamine can augment mucosal blood flow during gut I/R and alleviate mucosal acidosis. The results provided benifical effects on the treatment of splanchnic hypoperfusion following traumatic or burn shock.Sen Hu Zhi-Yong Sheng,Burns Institute,304th Hospital of PLA,Beijing 100037,China 2002World Journal of Gastroenterology2002,8,3:23
Electroacupuncture improves gut barrier dysfunction in prolonged hemorrhagic shock rats through vagus anti-inflammatory mechanism显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether electroacupuncture(EA)at Zusanli(ST36)prevents intestinal barrier and remote organ dysfunction following prolonged hemorrhagic shock through a vagus anti-inflammatory mechanism.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to about 45%of total blood volume loss followed by delayed fluid replacement(DFR)with Ringer lactate 3h after hemorrhage. In a first study, rats were randomly divided into six groups:(1)EAN:EA at non-channel acupoints followed by DFR;(2)EA:EA at ST36 after hemorrhage followed by DFR;(3)VGX/EA:vagotomy(VGX)before EA at ST36 and DFR;(4)VGX/EAN:VGX before EAN and DFR;(5)α-bungarotoxin(α-BGT)/EA:intraperitoneal injection ofα-BGT before hemorrhage, followed by EA at ST36 and DFR;and(6)α-BGT/EAN group:α-BGT injection before hemorrhage followed by EAN and DFR.Survival and mean arterial pressure(MAP)were monitored over the next 12 h.In a second study, with the same grouping and treatment, cytokine levels in plasma and intestine, organ parameters, gut injury score, gut permeability to 4 kDa FITC-dextran,and expression and distribution of tight junction protein ZO-1 were evaluated.RESULTS:MAP was significantly lowered after blood loss;EA at ST36 improved the blood pressure at corresponding time points 3 and 12 h after hemorrhage.EA at ST36 reduced tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin(IL)-6 levels in both plasma and intestine homogenates after blood loss and DFR,while vagotomy or intraperitoneal injection ofα-BGT before EA at ST36reversed its anti-inflammatory effects, and EA at ST36did not influence IL-10 levels in plasma and intestine.EA at ST36 alleviated the injury of intestinal villus, the gut injury score being significantly lower than that of EAN group(1.85±0.33 vs 3.78±0.59,P<0.05).EA at ST36 decreased intestinal permeability to FITCdextran compared with EAN group(856.95 ng/mL±90.65 ng/mL vs 2305.62 ng/mL±278.32 ng/mL,P<0.05).EA at ST36 significantly preserved ZO-1 protein expression and localization at 12 h after hemorrhage. However,EA at non-channel acupoints had no such effect, and abdominal vagotomy andα-BGT treatment could weaken or eliminate the effects of EA at ST36.Besides,EA at ST36 decreased blood aminotransferase,MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase and creatinine vs EAN group at corresponding time points. At the end of 12-h experiment, the survival rate of the EA group was significantly higher than that of the other groups.CONCLUSION:EA at ST36 attenuates the systemic inflammatory response, protects intestinal barrier integrity, improves organ function and survival rate after hemorrhagic shock via activating the cholinergic antiinflammatory mechanism.Ming-Hua Du Hong-Min Luo Sen Hu Yi Lv Zhi-Long Lin Li Ma 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,36:21
Electroacupuncture activates enteric glial cells and protects the gut barrier in hemorrhaged rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether electroacupuncture ST36 activates enteric glial cells, and alleviates gut inflammation and barrier dysfunction following hemorrhagic shock.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to approximately 45% total blood loss and randomly divided into seven groups:(1) sham:cannulation, but no hemorrhage;(2) subjected to hemorrhagic shock(HS);(3) electroacupuncture(EA) ST36 after hemorrhage;(4) vagotomy(VGX)/EA:VGX before hemorrhage, then EA ST36;(5) VGX:VGX before hemorrhage;(6) a-bungarotoxin(BGT)/EA:intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before hemorrhage, then EA ST36; and(7) a-BGT group:a-BGT injection before hemorrhage.Morphological changes in enteric glial cells(EGCs) were observed by immunofluorescence, and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP; a protein marker of enteric glial activation) was evaluated using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.Intestinal cytokine levels, gut permeability to 4-k Da fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)-dextran,and the expression and distribution of tight junction protein zona occludens(ZO)-1 were also determined.RESULTS:EGCs were distorted following hemorrhage and showed morphological abnormalities.EA ST36 attenuated the morphological changes in EGCs at 6 h,as compared with the VGX,a-BGT and HS groups.EA ST36 increased GFAP expression to a greater degree than in the other groups.EA ST36 decreased intestinal permeability to FITC-dextran(760.5 ± 96.43 ng/m L vs 2466.7 ± 131.60 ng/m L,P < 0.05) and preserved ZO-1 protein expression and localization at 6 h afterhemorrhage compared with the HS group. However, abdominal VGX and a-BGT treatment weakened or eliminated the effects of EA ST36.EA ST36 reduced tumor necrosis factor-a levels in intestinal homogenates after blood loss, while vagotomy or intraperitoneal injection of a-BGT before EA ST36 abolished its antiinflammatory effects.CONCLUSION:EA ST36 attenuates hemorrhageinduced intestinal inflammatory insult, and protects the intestinal barrier integrity, partly via activation of EGCs.Sen Hu Zeng-Kai Zhao Rui Liu Hai-Bin Wang Chun-Yu Gu Hong-Min Luo Huan Wang Ming-Hua Du Yi Lv Xian Shi 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,5:15
Dynamic compression characteristics of layered rock mass of significant strength changes in adjacent layers显示文摘Layered rock mass of significant strength changes for adjacent layers is frequently observed in underground excavation, and dynamic loading is a prevalent scenario generated during excavation. In order to improve the driving efficiency and reduce engineering accidents, dynamic compression characteristics of this kind of rock mass should be understood. The dynamic properties of a layered composite rock mass are investigated through a series of rock tests and numerical simulations. The rock mass is artificially made of various proportions of sand, cement and water to control the distinct strength variations at various composite layers separated by parallel bedding planes. All rock specimens are prefabricated in a specially designed mould and then cut into 50 mm in diameter and 50 mm in height for split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)dynamic compression testing. The test results reveal that increasing strain rate causes the increases of peak strength,σ_p,and the corresponding failure strain,ε_p,while the dynamic elastic modulus,E_d,remains almost unchanged.Interestingly, under the same strain rates,Ed of the composite rock specimen is found to decline first and then increase as the dip angle of bedding plane increases. The obtained rock failure patterns due to various dip angles lead to failure modes that could be classified into four categories from our dynamic tests. Also,a series of counterpart numerical simulations has been undertaken, showing that dynamic responses are in good agreement with those obtained from the SHPB tests. The numerical analysis enables us to Iook into the dynamic characteristics of the composite rock mass subjected to a broader range of strain rates and dip angles than these being tested.Sen Wen Chunshun Zhang Yulin Chang Ping Hu 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,2:13
Layer-by-layer deposition of bioactive layers on magnesium alloy stent materials to improve corrosion resistance and biocompatibility显示文摘Magnesium alloy is considered as one of the ideal cardiovascular stent materials owing to its good mechanical properties and biodegradability. However, the in vivo rapid degradation rate and the insufficient biocompatibility restrict its clinical applications. In this study, the magnesium alloy(AZ31B)was modified by combining the surface chemical treatment and in-situ self-assembly of 16-phosphonyl-hexadecanoic acid, followed by the immobilization of chitosan-functionalized graphene oxide(GOCS).Heparin(Hep)and GOCS were alternatively immobilized on the GOCS-modified surface through layer by layer(LBL)to construct the GOCS/Hep bioactive multilayer coating, and the corrosion resistance and biocompatibility were extensively explored. The results showed that the GOCS/Hep bioactive multilayer coating can endow magnesium alloys with an excellent in vitro corrosion resistance. The GOCS/Hep multilayer coating can significantly reduce the hemolysis rate and the platelet adhesion and activation, resulting in an excellent blood compatibility. In addition, the multilayer coating can not only enhance the adhesion and proliferation of the endothelial cells, but also promote the vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and nitric oxide(NO)expression of the attached endothelial cells on the surfaces. Therefore, the method of the present study can be used to simultaneously control the corrosion resistance and improve the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloys, which is expected to promote the application of magnesium alloys in biomaterials or medical devices, especially cardiovascular stent.Fan Gao Youdong Hu Guicai Li Sen Liu Li Quan Zhongmei Yang Yanchun Wei Changjiang Pan 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,3:12
Carbachol promotes gastrointestinal function during oral resuscitation of burn shock显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of carbachol on gastrointestinal function in a dog model of oral resuscitation for burn shock. METHODS: Twenty Beagle dogs with intubation of the carotid artery, jugular vein and jejunum for 24 h were subjected to 35% total body surface area fullthickness burns, and were divided into three groups: no fluid resuscitation (NR, n = 10), in which animals did not receive fluid by any means in the first 24 h postburn; oral fluid resuscitation (OR, n = 8), in which dogs were gavaged with glucose-electrolyte solution (GES) with volume and rate consistent with the Parkland formula; and oral fluid with carbachol group (OR/CAR, n = 8), in which dogs were gavaged with GES containing carbachol (20 μg/kg), with the same volume and rate as the OR group. Twenty-four hours after burns, all animals were given intravenous fluid replacement, and 72 h after injury, they received nutritional support. Hemodynamicand gastrointestinal parameters were measured serially with animals in conscious and cooperative state. RESULTS: The mean arterial pressure, cardiac output and plasma volume dropped markedly, and gastrointestinal tissue perfusion was reduced obviously after the burn injury in all the three groups. Hemodynamic parameters and gastrointestinal tissue perfusion in the OR and OR/CAR groups were promoted to pre-injury level at 48 and 72 h, respectively, while hemodynamic parameters in the NR group did not return to pre-injury level till 72 h, and gastrointestinal tissue perfusion remained lower than pre-injury level until 120 h post-burn. CO 2 of the gastric mucosa and intestinal mucosa blood flow of OR/CAR groups were 56.4 ± 4.7 mmHg and 157.7 ± 17.7 blood perfusion units (BPU) at 24 h postburn, respectively, which were significantly superior to those in the OR group (65.8 ± 5.8 mmHg and 127.7 ± 11.9 BPU, respectively, all P < 0.05). Gastric emptying and intestinal absorption rates of GES were significantly reduced to the lowest level (52.8% and 23.7% of pre-injury levels) in the OR group at about 2 and 4 h post-burn, and did not return to 80% of pre-injury level until 24 h. In the first 24 h postburn, the rate of gastric emptying and intestinal water absorption were elevated by a mean 15.7% and 11.5%, respectively, in the OR/CAR group compared with the OR group. At 5 days, the mortality in the NR group was 30% (3/10), 12.5% in the OR group (1/8), and none in the OR/CAR group. CONCLUSION: Carbachol had a beneficial effect on oral resuscitation of burn shock by promoting gastric emptying and intestinal absorption in our canine model.Sen Hu Jin-Wei Che Yi-jun Tian Zhi-Yong Sheng 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,13:10
The apricot(Prunus armeniaca L.)genome elucidates Rosaceae evolution and beta-carotenoid synthesis显示文摘Apricots, scientifically known as Prunus armeniaca L,are drupes that resemble and are closely related to peaches or plums. As one of the top consumed fruits, apricots are widely grown worldwide except in Antarctica.A high-quality reference genome for apricot is still unavailable, which has become a handicap that has dramatically limited the elucidation of the associations of phenotypes with the genetic background, evolutionary diversity, and population diversity in apricot.DNA from P.armeniaca was used to generate a standard,size-selected library with an average DNA fragment size of~20 kb.The library was run on Sequel SMRT Cells, generating a total of 16.54 Gb of PacBio subreads(N50=13.55 kb).The high-quality P.armeniaca reference genome presented here was assembled using long-read single-molecule sequencing at approximately 70×coverage and 171×Illumina reads(40.46 Gb),combined with a genetic map for chromosome scaffolding. The assembled genome size was 221.9 Mb,with a contig NG50 size of 1.02 Mb.Scaffolds covering 92.88%of the assembled genome were anchored on eight chromosomes.Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs analysis showed 98.0%complete genes. We predicted 30,436 protein-coding genes, and 38.28%of the genome was predicted to be repetitive. We found 981 contracted gene families,1324 expanded gene families and 2300 apricot-specific genes. The differentially expressed gene(DEG)analysis indicated that a change in the expression of the 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase(NCED)gene but not lycopene beta-cyclase(LcyB)gene results in a lowβ-carotenoid content in the white cultivar“Dabaixing”.This complete and highly contiguous P.armeniaca reference genome will be of help for future studies of resistance to plum pox virus(PPV)and the identification and characterization of important agronomic genes and breeding strategies in apricot.Fengchao Jiang Junhuan Zhang Sen Wang Li Yang Yingfeng Luo Shenghan Gao Meiling Zhang Shuangyang Wu Songnian Hu Haoyuan Sun Yuzhu Wang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:9
NanoSIMS analytical technique and its applications in earth sciences显示文摘Despite the significant improvement on spatial resolution,Nano SIMS still preserves relatively high mass resolution, sensitivity, and analytical precision. It has become an important analytical platform to determine chemical compositions of solid materials, and has been widely used in space, earth, life, and materials sciences, etc.By using a Cs+ion beam with a size as small as 50nm scanning over sample surfaces,we are able to obtain high spatial resolution images of up to 7 species simultaneously. When utilizing Faraday cup, high analytical precision of 0.3‰–0.5‰(1SD)for C,O and S isotopic analysis can be achieved.Although this precision level is still lower than that of conventional SIMS,it already meets the major requirements of Earth Sciences. In 2011,the first Nano SIMS of China(Cameca Nano SIMS 50L)was installed at Institute of Geology and Geophysics,Chinese Academy of Sciences.Based on the working mechanism and analytical modes of the instrument, this paper will systematically introduce the analytical methods established with the Nano SIMS and their potential applications in earth sciences. These methods include trace element distribution images in mineral zoning, high spatial resolution(2–5?m)Pb-Pb and U-Pb dating, water content and H isotopic analysis for silicate glass and apatite,C isotopic analysis for diamond and graphite,O isotopic analysis for carbonate,S isotopic analysis for sulfides. In addition, the specific requirements for sample preparation will also be introduced in order to facilitate domestic earth scientists’use.YANG Wei HU Sen ZHANG JianChao HAO JiaLong LIN YangTing 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,10:9
Olivine-norite rock detected by the lunar rover Yutu-2 likely crystallized from the SPA-impact melt pool显示文摘Chang’E-4 landed in the South Pole-Aitken(SPA)basin,providing a unique chance to probe the composition of the lunar interior. Its landing site is located on ejecta strips in Von Karm´an crater that´possibly originate from the neighboring Finsen crater.A surface rock and the lunar regolith at 10 sites along the rover Yutu-2 track were measured by the onboard Visible and Near-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer in the first three lunar days of mission operations. In situ spectra of the regolith have peak band positions at 1 and 2μm,similar to the spectral data of Finsen ejecta from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper, which confirms that the regolith’s composition of the landing area is mostly similar to that of Finsen ejecta. The rock spectrum shows similar band peak positions, but stronger absorptions, suggesting relatively fresh exposure. The rock may consist of 38.1±5.4%low-Ca pyroxene,13.9±5.1%olivine and 48.0±3.1%plagioclase,referred to as olivine-norite.The plagioclase-abundant and olivine-poor modal composition of the rock is inconsistent with the origin of the mantle, but representative of the lunar lower crust.Alternatively, the rock crystallized from the impact-derived melt pool formed by the SPA-impact event via mixing the lunar crust and mantle materials. This scenario is consistent with fast-cooling thermal conditions of a shallow melt pool, indicated by the fine to medium-sized texture(<3 mm)of the rock and the SPA-impact melting model[Icarus 2012;220:730–43].Honglei Lin Zhiping He Wei Yang Yangting Lin Rui Xu Chi Zhang Meng-Hua Zhu Rui Chang Jinhai Zhang Chunlai Li Hongyu Lin Yang Liu Sheng Gou Yong Wei Sen Hu Changbin Xue Jianfeng Yang Jie Zhong Xiaohui Fu Weixing Wan Yongliao Zou 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:9

Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes.MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12:8
Active source monitoring at the Wenchuan fault zone:coseismic velocity change associated with aftershock event and its implication显示文摘With the improvement of seismic observation system, more and more observations indicate that earthquakes may cause seismic velocity change. However, the amplitude and spatial distribution of the velocity variation remains a controversial issue. Recent active source monitoring carried out adjacent to Wenchuan Fault Scientific Drilling(WFSD) revealed unambiguous coseismic velocity change associated with a local Ms5.5 earthquake. Here, we carry out forward modeling using two-dimensional spectral element method to further investigate the amplitude and spatial distribution of observed velocity change. The model is well constrained by results from seismic reflection and WFSD coring. Our model strongly suggests that the observed coseismic velocity change is localized within the fault zone with width of *120 m rather than dynamic strong ground shaking. And a velocity decrease of *2.0 %within the fault zone is required to fit the observed travel time delay distribution, which coincides with rock mechanical experiment and theoretical modeling.Wei Yang Hongkui Ge Baoshan Wang Jiupeng Hu Songyong Yuan Sen Qiao 2014Earthquake Science2014,27,6:6
Xuebijing Injection(血必净注射液)Increases Early Survival Rate by Alleviating Pulmonary Vasopermeability in Rats Subjected to Severe Burns显示文摘Objective: To investigate the effects of Xuebijing Injection(血必净注射液, XBJ) on survival rate and pulmonary vasopermeability in a rat model of severe scald injury. Methods: Rats were divided into two experiments: experiment 1 was monitored for 12 h post-injury for survival analysis after severe burns; in experiment 2, rats were killed for determination of pulmonary vascular permeability and pro-inflammatory mediators. In both experiments, rats were subject to third-degree 50% total body surface area(TBSA) burns or sham injury followed by XBJ or normal saline(NS) treatment. In addition, rat pulmonary microvascular endothelium cells(PMECs) were pretreated with either XBJ or phosphate buffer saline(PBS), and then subjected to sham serum or scald serum stimulation for 2 or 6 h, followed by transwell examination for the permeability of PMECs. Meanwhile, pro-inflammatory mediators in PMECs culture supernatant were also investigated. Results: The average survival time in the scald+XBJ group was 582.1±21.2 min, which was significantly longer than that in the scald + NS group(345.8±25.4 min, P<0.01). Plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), E-selectin, interleukin-6(IL-6), vascular permeability and water content of lung tissues were significantly increased in animals after severe burns(P<0.01). However, administration of XBJ significantly decreased these levels in plasma and lung tissue. In in vitro cell experiments, XBJ markedly attenuated permeability in PMECs monolayer and reduced the levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and soluble E-selectin after stimulation with scald serum(P<0.01). Conclusions: XBJ increases early survival rate by alleviating pulmonary vasopermeability and inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators in rats subjected to lethal scald injury. XBJ may be a potent drug in treatment of severe burns.DAI Yue-long LI Jing-yuan BAI Hui-ying LIU Si DOU Yong-qi HU Sen 2017Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2017,23,9:6

Distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine patterns in 324 cases with hepatitis B-related acute-on-chronic liver failure:a prospective,cross-sectional survey显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To determine the distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) patterns in hepatitis B-related acute-on-chronic liver failure(HB-ACLF) in different stages for guiding clinical prescriptions and treatments.METHODS:A prospective,cross-sectional survey method was used in this study.A total of 324 cases with HB-ACLF in China were involved.RESULTS:The general frequency of TCM patterns in HB-ACLF were as follows:Heat Toxin Stagnation Pattern(134/324,41.36%),Damp-heat Obstruction Pattern(66/324,20.37%),Yang Qi Deficiency Pattern(52/324,16.05%),and Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency Pattern(26/324,8.02%).In the early stage of HB-ACLF,there was a remarkably higher percentage of excessive patterns than those in the middle and late stage. The incidence of Heat Toxin Stagnation reached 58.57%(82/140) in the early stage, while it was 33.96%(36/106) in the middle stage and 20.51%(16/78) in the late stage. In the early stage of HB-ACLF,excessive patterns, such as the Heat Toxin Stagnation Pattern, were more prevalent than those in the middle and late stages(P<α ' = 0.003).However,in the late stage of HB-ACLF,deficient patterns, such as the Yang Qi Deficiency Pattern, were more prevalent than those in the early and middle stages. The Yang Qi Deficiency Pattern had a higher rate of 41.03%(32/78) in the late stage compared with that of 20.75%(22/106) in the middle stage and 8.57%(12/140,P<α ' =0.003) in the early stage. The distribution of the other patterns was not significant between the three stages(P>0.003).CONCLUSIONS:There are four major patterns of HB-ACLF,including the Heat Toxin Stagnation Pattern, the Damp-heat Obstruction Pattern, the Yang Qi Deficiency Pattern, and the Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency Pattern. The Heat Toxin Stagnation and Yang Qi Deficiency Patterns are the representative patterns in the early and late stages of HB-ACLF.In the middle stage of HB-ACLF,the TCM patterns vary in a complicated manner, with no significant difference among the patterns.Treatment for HB-ACLF should vary with the different representative patterns in the early and late stages.Xiaoyu Hu Yang Zhang Guo Chen Yibei Li Sen Zhong 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:6
Dimethyl sulfoxide inhibits zymosan-induced intestinal inflammation and barrier dysfunction显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) inhibits gut inflammation and barrier dysfunction following zymosan-induced systemic inflammatoryresponse syndrome and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham with administration of normal saline(SS group); sham with administration of DMSO(SD group); zymosan with administration of normal saline(ZS group); and zymosan with administration of DMSO(ZD group). Each group contained three subgroups according to 4 h,8 h,and 24 h after surgery. At 4 h,8 h,and 24 h after intraperitoneal injection of zymosan(750 mg/kg),the levels of intestinal inflammatory cytokines [tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) and interleukin(IL)-10] and oxides(myeloperoxidase, malonaldehyde, and superoxide dismutase) were examined. The levels of diamine oxidase(DAO) in plasma and intestinal mucosal blood flow(IMBF) were determined. Intestinal injury was also evaluated using an intestinal histological score and apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells was determined by deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) assay. The intestinal epithelial tight junction protein,ZO-1,was observed by immunofluorescence.RESULTS: DMSO decreased TNF-α and increased IL-10 levels in the intestine compared with the ZS group at the corresponding time points. The activity of intestinal myeloperoxidase in the ZS group was higher than that in the ZD group 24 h after zymosan administration(P < 0.05). DMSO decreased the content of malondialdehyde(MDA) and increased the activity of superoxide dehydrogenase(SOD) 24 h after zymosan administration. The IMBF was lowest at 24 h and was 49.34% and 58.26% in the ZS group and ZD group, respectively(P < 0.05). DMSO alleviated injury in intestinal villi, and the gut injury score was significantly lower than the ZS group(3.6 ± 0.2 vs 4.2 ± 0.3,P < 0.05). DMSO decreased the level of DAO in plasma compared with the ZS group(65.1 ± 4.7 U/L vs 81.1 ± 5.0 U/L,P < 0.05). DMSO significantly preserved ZO-1 protein expression and localization 24 h after zymosan administration. The TUNEL analysis indicated that the number of apoptotic intestinal cells in the ZS group was much higher than the ZD group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: DMSO inhibited intestinal cytokines and protected against zymosan-induced gut barrier dysfunction.Yu-Meng Li Hai-Bin Wang Jin-Guang Zheng Xiao-Dong Bai Zeng-Kai Zhao Jing-Yuan Li Sen Hu 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,38:5
