Natural variations in grain length 10(GL10)regulate rice grain size显示文摘Grain size is an important determinant of grain weight and yield in rice.Although several genes related to grain size have been identified, natural variations in these genes that affect grain size are poorly characterized. Here,we describe the grain length QTL GL10,encoding MADS56,which positively regulates grain length and grain weight.A natural allelic variation of NIL-gl10,containing an~1.0-kb deletion in the first exon that abolishes its transcription, results in shorter grain length, lower grain weight and delayed flowering in gl10 plants. The knockout of GL10 in the HJX74 background leads to grain phenotypes similar to that of NIL-gl10,while overexpression of GL10 results in increased grain length and weight and earlier heading date.GL10 regulates grain length by promoting greater longitudinal cell growth in the grain glume.Additionally,GL10 participates in the regulation of gibberellic acid(GA)signaling pathway genes in young panicle tissues.Analysis of GL10 haplotypes shows obvious divergence between the japonica and indica lineages. Our findings reveal an allelic variation of GL10 that may explain differences in grain length among modern cultivars and could be used to breed rice varieties with optimized grain shape. | Penglin Zhan Shuaipeng Ma Zhili Xiao Fangping Li Xin Wei Shaojun Lin Xiaoling Wang Zhe Ji Yu Fu Jiahao Pan Mi Zhou Yue Liu Zengyuan Chang Lu Li Suhong Bu Zupei Liu Haitao Zhu Guifu Liu Guiquan Zhang Shaokui Wang | 2022 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5: | 3
The role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in gastrointestinal cancer显示文摘Gastrointestinal(GI)cancer encompasses a range ofmalignancies that originate in the digestive system, which together represent the most common form of cancer diagnosed worldwide. However, despite numerous advances in both diagnostics and treatment, the incidence and mortality rate of GI cancer are on the rise.Myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)are a heterogeneous population of immature myeloid cells that increase in number under certain pathological conditions, such as infection and inflammation, and this expansion is of particular relevance to cancer.MDSCs are heavily involved in the regulation of the immune system and act to dampen its response to tumors, favoring the escape of tumor cells from immunosurveillance and increasing both metastasis and recurrence.Several recent studies have supported the use of MDSCs as a prognostic and predictive biomarker in patientswith cancer, and potentially as a novel treatment target. In the present review, the mechanisms underlying the immunosuppressive functions of MDSCs are described, and recent researches concerning the involvement of MDSCs in the progression, prognosis, and therapies of GI cancer are reviewed. The aim of this work was to present the development of novel treatments targeting MDSCs in GI cancer in the hope of improving outcomes for patients with this condition. | Cheng Cui Penglin Lan Li Fu | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,6: | 1

A Cementing Technology for Shale Oil Horizontal Wells显示文摘Organic rich dark shale of Q Formation can be found in many areas(e.g.,in the North of S Basin). The shale target stratum is easy to hydrate and often undergoes spallation. Therefore, centering the casing in the horizontal section of the irregular borehole is relatively difficult.Similarly, achieving a good cementflushing efficiency under complex borehole conditions is a complex task.Through technologies such as centralizer, efficient preflushing,multi-stageflushing and ductile cement slurry, better performances can be achieved. In this study,it is shown that the cementing rate in the DY2H horizontal section is 97.8%,which is more than 34%higher than that of adjacent wells. This cementing matching technology for sidetracking horizontal wells can be used to improve the cementing quality of continental shale and provides a reference for future applications in thisfield. | Yudong Tian Gonghui Liu Yue Qi Jun Li Yan Xi Wei Lian Xiaojie Bai Penglin Liu Xiaoguang Geng | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,11: | 1
Fatigue Damage Mechanism of AL6XN Austenitic Stainless Steel at High Temperatures显示文摘By the combination of transmission electron microscope, neutron diffraction and small-angle neutron scattering methods, mechanical fatigue behavior of AL6XN austenitic stainless steel was investigated in the temperature range of 400–600 °C. At 400 °C, in addition to the occurrence of dynamic strain aging, the formation of short-range order was evidenced from the forbidden electron diffraction spot of 1/3 {422} in face-centered cubic(fcc) structure viewed down [111] zone axis, which facilitate the planar slip mode of dislocation and result in the work hardening during the fatigue deformation. The fatigue damage is mainly dominated by the accumulation of planar slip band and the interaction among various slip systems. With increasing temperature, precipitates of chi phase, Laves phase and sigma phase were formed during the fatigue tests at 500 and 600 °C. An increase in precipitation content at 600 °C has also been confirmed by both scanning electron microscope and small-angle neutron scattering analysis. The dislocation pileup originating from the uncoordinated deformation between precipitate and austenitic matrix is an important fatigue damage leading to crack. The continuous cycle softening behavior was also observed on the fatigue curve at 600 °C, which is considered to be caused by dynamic recovery. | Yanyan Hong Penglin Gao Hongjia Li Changsheng Zhang Guangai Sun | 2020 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,6: | 0
Insight into the molecular mechanisms of gastric cancer stem cell in drug resistance of gastric cancer显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death worldwide, and gastric cancer stem cells(GCSCs)are considered as the major factor for resistance to conventional radio-and chemotherapy.Accumulating evidence in recent years implies that GCSCs regulate the drug resistance in GC through multiple mechanisms, including dormancy, drug trafficking, drug metabolism and targeting, apoptosis,DNA damage,epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and tumor microenvironment. In this review,we summarize current advancements regarding the relationship between GCSCs and drug resistance and evaluate the molecular bases of GCSCs in drug resistance. | Jixian Xiong Tiantian Zhang Penglin Lan Shuhong Zhang Li Fu | 2022 | Cancer Drug Resistance2022,5,3: | 0
