11Numerical simulation on the influences of Wenchuan earthquake on the surrounding faults显示文摘On 12 May 2008,the devastating Wenchuan earthquake struck the Longmenshan fault zone,which comprised the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,and this fault zone was predominantly a convergent boundary with a right-lateral strike-slip component.After such a large-magnitude earthquake,it was crucial to analyze the influences of the earthquake on the surrounding faults and the potential seismic activity.In this paper,a complex viscoelastic model of western Sichuan and eastern Tibet regions was constructed including the topography.Based on the findings of co-seismic static slip distribution,we calculated the stress change caused by the Wenchuan earthquake with the post-seismic relaxation into consideration.Our preliminary results indicated that:(1) The tectonic stressing rate was relatively high in Kunlun mountain pass-Jiangcuo,Ganzi-Yushu,Xianshuihe and Zemuhe faults;while in the east Kunlun and Longriba was medium;also the value was less in the Minjiang,Longmenshan,Anninghe and Huya faults.As to the Longmenshan fault,the value was 0.28×10 3MPa/a to 0.35×10 3MPa/a,which is coincident with the previous long recurrence interval of Wenchuan earthquake;(2) The Wenchuan earthquake not only caused the Coulomb stress decrease in the source region,but also the stress increase in the two terminals,especially the northeastern segment,which is comparatively consistent with the aftershock distribution.Meanwhile,the high concentration areas of the static slip distribution were corresponding to the Coulomb stress reductions;(3) The Coulomb stress change caused by Wenchuan earthquake showed significant increase on five major faults,which were northwestern segment of Xianshuihe fault,eastern Kunlun fault,Longriba fault,Minjiang fault and Huya fault respectively;also the Coulomb stress on the fault plane of the Yushu earthquake was faintly increased;(4) We defined the recurrence interval as the time needed to accumulate the magnitude of the stress drop,and the recurrence interval of Wenchuan earthquake was estimated about 1 714 a to 2 143 a correspondingly.Yujiang Li Lianwang Chen Yuanzhong Lu 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,2:0
12Numerical Simulation of Annual Change Patterns of Contemporary Tectonic Stress-Strain Field of the Chinese Mainland显示文摘Based on the active crustal block structures, the Holocene active faults and the wave velocity structures with a resolution of 1°×1°, a two-dimensional finite element model for the tectonic stress-strain field of the Chinese mainland is constructed in the paper. Using GPS measurements, the velocity boundary conditions for the model are deduced, then, the annual change patterns of the present-day stress-strain field of the Chinese mainland are simulated. The results show that (1) the general pattern of the recent tectonic deformation in the Chinese mainland is governed by the interactions of its surrounding plates, of which, the Indian Plate plays a major role. There is a NNE-directed velocity distribution in the west of the Chinese mainland. The maximum slip rate appears at the collision boundary. The north-directed components decrease, while the east-directed components increase gradually from south to north and from west to east. In the east part, there is a general east-directed movement, with a certain amount of south-directed components. (2) The present-day tectonic stress field in the Chinese mainland has undergone the process of enhancement in recent years, and this process presents a general pattern of radiating eastwards from the Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau as the center. The general pattern is similar to the ambient tectonic stress field, indicating the inheritance of contemporary tectonic deformation on the Chinese mainland. (3) The maximum principal strain presents an obvious pattern of being high in the west and low in the east. The tectonic movement in the west is stronger than that in the east. Large active faults are all located in the high-value zones of maximum principal strain. However, the magnitude of strain is smaller in the interior of the active crustal blocks, which are enclosed by these faults. (4) The stress-strain field of the Sichuan-Yunnan region is unique. 13CREDIBLE SETS FOR SYSTEM PARAMETERS ANDTRANSFER FUNCTIONS显示文摘The credible sets for system parameters and transfer functions are discussedin this paper. The derivations of the credible sets via the Bayesian statistical methods aregiven in various cases and the credible sets of transfer functions are constructed on thebasis of the parameter credible sets. In the small sample case the credible set, which theparameters are in, has minimal volume with given credible probability. In the large samplecaset it is proved that if the critical boundary is taken properly then the probability, withwhich the parameters are in the credible set, will tend to one as the number of data tendsto infinity. 14A framework of force of information influence and application for C4KISR system显示文摘The subversive nature of information war lies not only in the information itself, but also in the circulation and application of information. It has always been a challenge to quantitatively analyze the function and effect of information flow through command, control, communications, computer, kill, intelligence,surveillance, reconnaissance (C4KISR) system. In this work, we propose a framework of force of information influence and the methods for calculating the force of information influence between C4KISR nodes of sensing, intelligence processing,decision making and fire attack. Specifically, the basic concept of force of information influence between nodes in C4KISR system is formally proposed and its mathematical definition is provided. Then, based on the information entropy theory, the model of force of information influence between C4KISR system nodes is constructed. Finally, the simulation experiments have been performed under an air defense and attack scenario. The experimental results show that, with the proposed force of information influence framework, we can effectively evaluate the contribution of information circulation through different C4KISR system nodes to the corresponding tasks. 16Lower Crustal Flow and Its Relation to the Surface Deformation and Stress Distribution in Western Sichuan Region, China显示文摘The channel flow model was gradually being accepted with the more important multidisciplinary evidences from geology and geophysics, but how the lower crustal flow influenced the surface deformation quantitatively was unknown. Here, we develop a three-dimensional viscoelastic model to explore the mechanical relations between the lower crustal flow and the surface deformation in western Sichuan. Based on numerous tests, our results show that the modeled results fit well with the observed GPS data when the lower crust flows faster than the upper crust about 11 mm/a in the rhombic block, which can be useful to understand the possible mechanism of the surface deformation in western Sichuan. Moreover, taking the Xianshuihe fault as an example, we preliminarily analyze the relation between the active fault and stress field, according to the boundary constraints that deduced from the best model. The results show that the maximum shear stress on the Xianshuihe fault zone is mainly located in the fault terminal, intersections and the bend of the fault geometry, the stress level on the northwestern segment that has the high slip rate is relatively high.
