| 1 | Simultaneous adsorption of lead and cadmium on MnO_2-loaded resin显示文摘MnO2-loaded D301 weak basic anion exchange resin has been used as adsorbent to simultaneously remove lead and cadmium ions from aqueous solution.The effects of adsorbent dosage,solution pH and the coexistent ions on the adsorption were investigated.Experimental results showed that with the adsorbent dosage more than 0.6 g/L,both Pb 2+ and Cd2+ were simultaneously removed at pH range 5-6.Except for HPO 42+ ,the high concentration coexistent ions such as Na + ,K + ,Cl+ ,NO3-,SO42+ and HCO3-,showed no significant effect on the removal efficiency of both Pb2+ and Cd2+ under the experimental conditions.The coexistence of Mg2+ ,Ca2+ caused the reduction of Cd2+ removal,but not for Pb2+ .The adsorption equilibrium for Pb2+ and Cd 2+ could be excellently described by the Langmuir isotherm model with R2 > 0.99.The maximum adsorption capacity was calculated as 80.64 mg/g for Pb2+ and 21.45 mg/g for Cd2+ .The adsorption processes followed the pseudo first-order kinetics model.MnO2-loaded D301 resin has been shown to have a potential to be used as an effective adsorbent for simultaneous removal of lead and cadmium ions from aqueous solution. | Lijing Dong,Zhiliang Zhu,Hongmei Ma,Yanling Qiu,Jianfu ZhaoState Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Reuse,Tongji University,Shanghai 200092,China | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2: | 16 |
| 2 | The vernalization-induced long non-coding RNA VAS functions with the transcription factor TaRF2b to promote TaVRN1 expression for flowering in hexaploid wheat显示文摘Vernalization is a physiological process in which prolonged cold exposure establishes flowering competence in winter plants. In hexaploid wheat, TaVRN1 is a cold-induced key regulator that accelerates floral transition. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the gradual activation of TaVRN1 during the vernalization process remains unknown. In this study, we identified the novel transcript VAS (TaVRN1 alternative splicing) as a non-coding RNA derived from the sense strand of the TaVRN1 gene only in winter wheat, which regulates TaVRN1 transcription for flowering. VAS was induced during the early period of vernalization, and its overexpression promoted TaVRN1 expression to accelerate flowering in winter wheat. VAS physically associates with TaRF2b and facilitates docking of the TaRF2b-TaRF2a complex at the TaVRN1 promoter during the middle period of vernalization. TaRF2b recognizes the Sp1 motif within the TaVRN1 proximal promoter region, which is gradually exposed along with the disruption of a loop structure at the TaVRN1 locus during vernalization, to activate the transcription of TaVRN1. The tarf2b mutants exhibited delayed flowering, whereas transgenic wheat lines overexpressing TaRF2b showed earlier flowering. | 3 | Adsorption removal of o-nitrophenol and p-nitrophenol from wastewater by metal–organic framework Cr-BDC显示文摘In the present paper, a metal–organic framework Cr-BDC was prepared and used as adsorbent for adsorption of o-nitrophenol(ONP) and p-nitrophenol(PNP) from aqueous solutions. Cr-BDC was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and BET methods. The results indicate that Cr-BDC gets a very large specific surface area of 4128 m^2·g^(-1)and pore sizes are concentrated in 1 nm, which is a benefit for using for wastewater treatment. The influences of the adsorption conditions, such as temperature,solution concentration, adsorption time and reusability on adsorption performance were investigated. Cr-BDC exhibited an encouraging uptake capacity of 310.0 mg·g^(-1)for ONP, and adsorption capacity of Cr-BDC for ONP is significantly higher than that for PNP under suitable adsorption conditions. The characterizations of adsorption process were examined with the Lagergren pseudo-first-order, the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and the intra-particular diffusion model. Kinetics experiments indicated that the pseudo-second-order model displayed the best correlation with adsorption kinetics data. Furthermore, our adsorption equilibrium data could be better described by the Freundlich equation. | 4 | Analysis of the Internal Characteristics of a De ector Jet Servo Valve显示文摘In current research on deflector jet servo valves, the receiver pressure estimated using traditional two-dimensional simulation and theoretical calculation is always lower than the experimental data; therefore, credible information about the flow field in the prestage part of the valve can hardly be obtained. To investigate this issue and understand the internal characteristics of the deflector jet valve, a realistic numerical model is constructed and a three-dimensional simulation carried out that displays a complex flow pattern in the deflector jet structure. Then six phases of the flow pattern are presented, and the defects of the two-dimensional simulation are revealed. Based on the simulation results, it is found that the jet in the deflector has a longer core area and the fluid near the shunt wedge cannot resist the impact of the high-speed fluid. Therefore, two assumptions about the flow distribution are presented by which to construct a more complete theoretical model. The receiver pressure and prestage pressure gain are significantly enhanced in the calculations. Finally, special experiments on the prestage of the servo valve are performed, and the pressure performance of the numerical simulation and the theoretical calculation agree well with the experimental data. Finally, the internal mechanism described by the theoretical and numerical models is verified. | 7 | The Community Renewal of Shantytown Transformation in Old Industrial Cities:Evidence from Tiexi Worker Village in Shenyang,China显示文摘There are many problems,such as poverty,unemployment,poor infrastructure and how to improve the ecological environment,in the shantytowns of old industrial cities.Shantytowns are the most centralized areas with different contradictions,referred to as the‘problem areas’of urban sustainable development.The shantytown transformation of old industrial cities is a typical process of unit community disintegration,which is reflected not only in the reconstruction of physical space but also in the community renewal of social spatial integration and culture reconstruction.Based on qualitative research,questionnaires and in-depth interviews,taking Tiexi Worker Village in Shenyang as a research case,this paper attempts to analyse the characteristics and driving forces of the community renewal of shantytown transformation in old industrial cities.We found that the physical space of Tiexi Worker Village has changed considerably,which is embodied in its land use structure,living environment and community service facilities,reflecting the development of community function from simple industrial function to comprehensive functions.The residents in this community have experienced a transformation from a period of homogeneity to one of heterogeneity.The social network of the community has been destroyed.Social stratification,social differentiation and higher fluidity have occurred.Community renewal is mainly affected by macro factors such as policy regulation,economic driving,condition constraints,and micro factors such as residents’choice of living space and willingness to renew their communities.The transformation policy of the old industrial zone and the development policy of the new urban area are the fundamental and deep-seated reasons for the renewal of Tiexi Worker Village,which determine the direction of the renewal and development of the community.The paid use of land and the development of the real estate industry are the direct stimulating factors for the renewal of Tiexi Worker Village,which become the direct reasons for the spatial transformation.The changes in the population in urban and rural areas and the promotion of traffic are the driving factors for the renewal of the community,while the choice of residents and their willingness regarding community renewal are the endogenous forces for promoting community renewal.Finally,the author attempts to put forward a model of the interlaced mechanism of the forming of community renewal at the macroscopic and microcosmic levels,which are the urban renewal and reconstruction and social space differentiation of community residents,respectively. | DONG Lijing WANG Yongchao LIN Jiayi ZHU Ermeng | 2020 | Chinese Geographical Science2020,30,6: | 1 |
| 8 | Quality control for ocean observations: From present to future显示文摘The quality control(QC) of ocean observational data, essential to establish a high-quality global ocean database, is one of the basic data pre-processing steps in oceanography research, marine monitoring, and forecasting. With the introduction of various advanced instruments in recent decades, oceanographic surveys have expanded from coastal regions to open oceans.However, as ocean in-situ observations are obtained using different instruments that offer heterogeneous data qualities, it is paramount that bad data could be accurately and efficiently identified via QC to provide a reliable global ocean database. In this review, we briefly summarize the latest progress of QC for oceanic in-situ observations, and mainly focus on temperature and salinity data. The similarities and differences between QC schemes developed by various ocean organizations are introduced. We also discuss the performances of the various QC schemes and identify the key challenges. | 17 | Network pharmacology and molecular docking study on the effect of Kaempferol in treatment of metabolic associated fatty liver disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study therapeutic effect of kaempferol on metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD) by network pharmacology and molecular docking combined with cell experiments. METHODS: First, use the Swiss Target Prediction database to predict the targets of kaempferol, and collect the targets of MAFLD through the Disgenet database and the Gene Cards database. Then, the common target of kaempferol and MAFLD was enriched and analyzed by the Gene Ontology(GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes, and the protein-protein interaction(PPI) network was constructed through the string database to obtain the key targets, and carry out molecular docking of key targets with kaempferol;In cell experiment, oleic acid induced steatosis in Hep G2 cells, which was intervened by kaempferol, the level of triglyceride(TG) was detected, the lipid deposition was observed by oil red O staining, and the protein expression was detected by Western blot. RESULTS: The results showed that there are 33 common targets for kaempferol and MAFLD. The biological process of GO is related to the regulation of protein kinase B, cell apoptosis, inflammatory factors, lipoxygenase, etc. Its action pathway is related to the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase and protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT) signaling pathway, hypoxia-inducible factor 1 signaling pathway, forkhead box protein O signaling pathway, AMP-activated protein kinase signaling pathway, tumor necrosis factor signaling pathway, etc., the key targets are protein kinase B(AKT1), prostaglandin G/H synthase 2, matrix metalloproteinase-9, epidermal growth factor receptor, and the molecular docking of kaempferol with the four key targets shows good binding properties. Cell experiments show that kaempferol can reduce cell TG levels, reduce lipid deposition, increase the expression of PI3K, AKT, and beclin-1, and reduce the expression of caspase-3 and nuclear factor-kappa B. Kaempferol can treat MAFLD by regulating the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway to regulate cell autophagy, apoptosis, and inflammation. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that kaempferol can regulate lipid metabolism, reduce apoptosis, regulate inflammation and autophagy in the fatty liver cell model. | 19 | Catalytic combustion properties of nanocomplex oxide for natural gas显示文摘The catalysts of copper oxide supported on cerium dioxide were prepared by different methods for methane catalytic combustion. The effects of copper content in the catalysts and calcination temperatures of the catalysts on the catalytic activity are investigated. Results show that the complex oxide catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity for methane combustion due to the synergistic effect of CuO and CeO2. The catalyst prepared by impregnation is more active than that prepared by controlled coprecipitation even if CuO content is the same. When W(CuO) <13%, the light-off temperature and full conversion temperature for the CH4 reaction decrease with the increasing of CuO content in the catalysts. However, when the copper content is above 13%, the excess CuO has a negative effect on the catalytic activity owing to the formation of bulk CuO particles.
