1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 5Genomic insights into the fast growth of paulownias and the formation of Paulownia witches' broom显示文摘Paulownias are among the fastest growing trees in the world,but they often suffer tremendous loss of wood production due to infection by Paulownia witches'broom(PaWB)phytoplasmas.In this study,we have sequenced and assembled a high-quality nuclear genome of Paulownia fortunei,a commonly cultivated paulownia species.The assembled genome of P.fortunei is 511.6 Mb in size,with 93.2%of its sequences anchored to 20 pseudo-chromosomes,and it contains 31985 protein-coding genes.Phylogenomic analyses show that the family Paulowniaceae is sister to a clade composed of Phrymaceae and Orobanchaceae.Higher photosynthetic efficiency is achieved by integrating C3 photosynthesis and the crassulacean acid metabolism pathway,which may contribute to the extremely fast growth habit of paulownia trees.Comparative transcriptome analyses reveal modules related to cambial growth and development,photosynthesis,and defense responses.Additional genome sequencing of PaWB phytoplasma,combined with functional analyses,indicates that the effector PaWB-SAP54 interacts directly with Paulownia PfSPLa,which in turn causes the degradation of PfSPLa by the ubiquitin-mediated pathway and leads to the formation of witches'broom.Taken together,these results provide significant insights into the biology of paulownias and the regulatory mechanism for the formation of PaWB.Yabing Cao Guiling Sun Xiaoqiao Zhai Pingluo Xu Liming Ma Minjie Deng Zhenli Zhao Haibo Yang Yanpeng Dong Zhonghai Shang Yujie Lv Lijun Yan Haifang Liu Xibing Cao Bingbing Li Zhe Wang Xiaogai Zhao Haiyan Yu Fan Wang Wen Ma Jinling Huang Guoqiang Fan 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,10:7
6Tailoring the secondary phases and mechanical properties of ODS steel by heat treatment显示文摘The oxide dispersion strengthened(ODS) steel with the nominal composition of Fe–14 Cr–2 W–0.3 Ti–0.2 V–0.07 Ta–0.3 Y2O3(wt%) was fabricated by mechanical alloying and hot isostatic pressing(HIP). In order to optimize the relative volume fraction of secondary phases, the as-HIPed ODS steel was annealed at 800°C, 1000°C, 1200°C for 5 h, respectively. The microstructures and different secondary phases of the as-HIPed and annealed ODS samples were identified by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The tensile properties of all the ODS steels at room temperature were also investigated. The results indicate that annealing is an effective way to control the microstructure and the integral secondary phases. The annealing process promotes the dissolution of M23C6 particles, thus promoting the precipitation of TiC.No obvious coarsening of Y2Ti2O7 nanoparticles can be observed during annealing. 7Effect of W addition on phase transformation and microstructure of powder metallurgic Ti-22Al-25Nb alloys during quenching and furnace cooling显示文摘Powder metallurgic Ti2 AlNb alloys with W addition are sintered at 900, 1000, 1070 °C,and 1150 °C(i.e., in the O + B2, a_2+ B2 + O, a_2+ B2, and single B2 phase regions, respectively)for 12 h, followed by water quenching and furnace cooling. Comparisons of phase and microstructure between quenched and furnace-cooled W-modified alloys are carried out to illustrate the phase transformation and microstructure evolution during the cooling process. Furthermore, a comparison is also made between W-modified and W-free alloys, to reveal the function of the W alloying.W addition accelerates the solutions of a_2 and O phases during the high-temperature holding, and a Widmannsta¨tten B2 + O structure, which contributes to the properties, is induced by furnace cooling from all the phase regions. The Widmannsta¨tten structure includes a B2 matrix, primary O, and secondary O precipitates. However, W alloying refines the Widmannsta¨tten structure only when the alloys are solution-treated and then cooled from the single B2 phase. 9Nonlinear distortion and spatial dispersion of intense terahertz generation in lithium niobate via the tilted pulse front technique显示文摘We systematically investigate the influences of the input infrared spectrum, chirp, and polarization on the emitted intense terahertz spectrum and spatial dispersion in lithium niobate via optical rectification. The terahertz yield and emission spectrum depend on both the chirp and spectrum of the input pump laser pulses. We also observe slight non-uniform spatial dispersion using a knife-edge measurement, which agrees well with the original predictions. 11Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair.Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li 2023Research2023,,3:3
12Synthesis of W-Y2O3 alloys by freeze-drying and subsequent low temperature sintering:Microstructure refinement and second phase particles regulation显示文摘In this work,W-Y2 O3 alloys are prepared by freeze-drying and subsequent low temperature sintering.The average size of reduced W-Y2 O3 composite powders prepared by freeze-drying method is only 18.1 nm.After low temperature sintering of these composite nanopowders,the formed W-Y2 O3 alloys possess a smaller grain size of 510 nm while maintaining a comparatively higher density of 97.8%.Besides a few submicron Y2 O3 particles(about 100-300 nm)with a W-Y-O phase diffusion layer on their surface distribute at W grain boundaries,lots of nano Y2 WO6 particles(<20 nm)exist in W matrix.Moreover,many Y6 WO12(<10 nm)particles exist within submicron Y2 O3 particles.The formation of these ternary phases indicates that some oxygen impurities in the W matrix can be adsorbed by ternary phases,resulting in the purification of W matrix and the strengthening of phase boundaries.The combined action of the above factors makes the hardness of the sintered W-Y2 O3 alloys in our work as high as 656.6±39.0 HV0.2.Our work indicates that freeze-drying and subsequent low temperature sintering is a promising method for preparing high performance W-Y2 O3 alloys.Weiqiang Hu Zhi Dong Liming Yu Zongqing Ma Yongchang Liu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,1:3

14Expression of rabbit defensin NP-1 gene in transgenic tobacco plants and its activity against bacterial wilt显示文摘A cDNAderived 200 bp fragment encoding a rabbit defensin NP1 mature peptide was ligated into the GUSless pBI121 to yield pBIC35NP1. Tobacco leaf discs were genetically transformed with an Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain harbouring pBIC35NP1. Northern blot analysis showed that the defensin NP1 expression cassette was normally transcribed in transgenic plants.
