3Acetylation of ezrin regulates membrane–cytoskeleton interaction underlying CCL18-elicited cell migration显示文摘Ezrin,a membrane–cytoskeleton linker protein,plays an essential role in cell polarity establishment,cell migration,and division.Recent studies show that ezrin phosphorylation regulates breast cancer metastasis by promoting cancer cell survivor and promotes intrahepatic metastasis via cell migration.However,it was less characterized whether there are additional post-translational modifications and/or post-translational crosstalks on ezrin underlying context-dependent breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Here we show that ezrin is acetylated by p300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)in breast cancer cells in response to CCL18 stimulation.Ezrin physically interacts with PCAF and is a cognate substrate of PCAF.The acetylation site of ezrin was mapped by mass spectrometric analyses,and dynamic acetylation of ezrin is essential for CCL18-induced breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Mechanistically,the acetylation reduced the lipid-binding activity of ezrin to ensure a robust and dynamic cycling between the plasma membrane and cytosol in response to CCL18 stimulation.Biochemical analyses show that ezrin acetylation prevents the phosphorylation of Thr567.Using atomic force microscopic measurements,our study revealed that acetylation of ezrin induced its unfolding into a dominant structure,which prevents ezrin phosphorylation at Thr567.Thus,these results present a previously undefined mechanism by which CCL18-elicited crosstalks between the acetylation and phosphorylation on ezrin control breast cancer cell migration and invasion.This suggests that targeting PCAF signaling could be a potential therapeutic strategy for combating hyperactive ezrin-driven cancer progression.Xiaoyu Song Wanjuan Wang Haowei Wang Xiao Yuan Fengrui Yang Lingli Zhao McKay Mullen Shihao Du Najdat Zohbi Saravanakumar Muthusamy Yalei Cao Jiying Jiang Peng Xia Ping He Mingrui Ding Nerimah Emmett Mingming Ma Quan Wu Hadiyah-Nicole Green Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Fengsong Wang Xing Liu 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,6:1

5Impact of a new teaching model on the fine cosmetic suturing operation and quantitative assessment of the training effect on plastic surgeons显示文摘Background Traditional lecture-based teaching(TLT)has long been the primary method of teaching plastic suturing techniques and even surgical education.It has been challenging to adapt this approach to fit the educational objectives of plastic surgery,which is a very practical science.Additionally,it is mainly teacher-led,and the course content is teacher-driven,which has disadvantages such as difficulty in motivating students and disconnection from clinical practice.Therefore,we developed a video point-to-point teaching(VPT)method and teamwork-based teaching(TBT)to study the effect of the new teaching model on fine cosmetic suturing operation(FCSO)and training outcomes for plastic surgeons.Methods We selected 30 junior doctors from the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Chinese PLA General Hospital.All trainees were randomly assigned to three groups:TLT,VPT,and TBT.All trainees had their performances photographed,and a senior attending physician was appointed as a rater.We rated the process and results of FCSO according to a uniform rubric following the double-blind principle to compare the effects of different teaching modes on the trainees’FCSO and differences in training outcomes.Results There was no significant effect of video recording on trainees’FCSO(P>0.05).The total scores of the first suturing in the three groups were as follows:TLT group(13.18​±​1.66),VPT group(13.63​±​1.97),and TBT group(13.50​±​2.26),with no significant difference among the groups(P>0.05),indicating that the starting level of the trainees in the three groups was basically the same.There was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the VPT(20.30​±​2.17)and TBT(20.38​±​2.29)groups,but both of these groups were significantly better than the TLT group(16.43​±​1.86,P<0.01).Conclusion The TBT and VPT methods are significantly better than TLT.However,the TBT method is more economical and optimal for teachers and better utilizes students’initiative in learning and operation,which improves the teaching level and training efficiency.Yichi Xu Jiahua Xing Hasi Wulan Lingli Guo 2023Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2023,5,1:0
6Distribution of rare earth elements in PM10 emitted from burning coals and soil-mixed coal briquettes显示文摘Emission from burning coals is one of the major sources of the airborne particles in China.We carried out a study on the rare earth elements(REEs)in the inhalable particulate matter(PM10)emitted from burning coals and soil-coal honeycomb briquettes with different volatile contents and ash yields in a combustion-dilution system.Gravimetric analysis indicates that the equivalent mass concentration of the PM10 emitted from burning the coals is higher than that emitted from burning the briquettes.The ICP-MS analysis indicates that the contents of total REEs in the coal-burning PM10 are lower than those in the briquetteburning PM10.In addition,the contents of the light rare earth elements(LREEs)are higher than those of the heavy rare earth elements(HREEs)in the PM10 emitted from burning the coals and briquettes,demonstrating that the REEs in both the coal-burning and briquetteburning PM10 are dominated by LREEs.The higher contents of total REEs and LREEs in the coal-burning PM10 are associated with the higher ash yields and lower volatile contents in the raw coals.A comparative analysis indicates that the La/Sm ratios in the PM10 emitted from burning the coals and briquettes,being lower than 2,are lower than those in the particles from gasoline-powered vehicle emission.Longyi Shao Lingli Chang Robert B.Finkelman Wenhua Wang Junxia Liu Jie Li Jiaoping Xing Cong Hou 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11:0

8Ultrafast Joule heating synthesis of hierarchically porous graphene-based Co-N-C single-atom monoliths显示文摘Herein,we develop a transient heating-quenching strategy triggered by Joule heating for the synthesis of single-atom cobalt-and nitrogen-doped graphene materials with three-dimensional porous monolithic architecture(denoted as CoNG-JH).The ultrafast Joule heating procedure simultaneously enables the reduction of graphene oxide and the incorporation of metal and nitrogen atoms into the graphene matrix within 2-second period.Meanwhile,the transient quenching avoids the extended heating-induced atom aggregation,ensuring the rapid and stable dispersion of atomic-scale CoNx active sites in graphene.Additionally,the interconnected macropores and nanopores formed by the self-assembly of graphene sheets facilitate the unimpeded ion and gas transport during the catalytic process.When used as an electrode for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),the fabricated free-standing CoNG-JH exhibits high catalytic activity and durability with a low overpotential of 106 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2) and a small Tafel slope of 66 mV·dec^(-1) in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4) electrolyte.The presented synthesis and design strategy open up a rapid and facile route for the manufacturing of single atom catalysts.Lingli Xing Rui Liu Zhichao Gong Jingjing Liu Jianbin Liu Haisheng Gong Kang Huang Huilong Fei 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:0
9Innovative combined therapy for multiple keloidal dermatofibromas of the chest wall: A novel case report显示文摘Dermatofibromas are benign soft tissue tumors that predominantly affect the limbs, and more rarely the chest.Keloidal dermatofibroma is a rare subtype with distinct clinicopathological features and an aggressive clinical course. By researching the evolution of the disease in this study, we aimed to summarize our experience of managing a rare patient who underwent five surgeries for keloidal dermatofibroma that developed sequentially in the upper arm and chest and propose a novel treatment for keloidal dermatofibroma.
