2De novo assembly of a Chinese soybean genome显示文摘Soybean was domesticated in China and has become one of the most important oilseed crops. Due to bottlenecks in their introduction and dissemination, soybeans from different geographic areas exhibit extensive genetic diversity. Asia is the largest soybean market; therefore, a high-quality soybean reference genome from this area is critical for soybean research and breeding.Here, we report the de novo assembly and sequence analysis of a Chinese soybean genome for 'Zhonghuang 13' by a combination of SMRT, Hi-C and optical mapping data. The assembled genome size is 1.025 Gb with a contig N50 of 3.46 Mb and a scaffold N50 of 51.87 Mb. Comparisons between this genome and the previously reported reference genome(cv. Williams82) uncovered more than 250,000 structure variations. A total of 52,051 protein coding genes and 36,429 transposable elements were annotated for this genome, and a gene co-expression network including 39,967 genes was also established. 4Application of seismic facies and attributes analysis on the identification of Permian igneous rock显示文摘Seismic facies and attributes analysis techniques are introduced.The geological characteristics of some oil fields in western China are used in conjunction with drilling results and logging data to identify the lithology,intrusion periods,and distribution range of the Permian igneous rocks in this area.The lithologic classification,the vertical and horizontal distribution,and the intrusion periods of igneous rock were deduced through this study.Combining seismic facies and attributes analysis based on optimization can describe the igneous rock in detail.This is an efficient way to identify lithology and intrusion periods.Using geological data and GR-DT logging cross-plots the Permian igneous rock from TP to TT was divided into three periods.The lithology of the first period is tuff and clasolite with a thickness ranging from 18 to 80 ms.The second is basalt with a thickness ranging from 0 to 20 ms.The third is tuff and clasolite and dacite whose thickness ranges from 60 to 80 ms.These results can help understand the clasolite trap with low amplitude and the lithologic trap of the Carboniferous and Silurian.They can also guide further oil and/or gas exploration.Xu Yongzhong Yang Haijun Liu Yongfu Wang Shuangshuangx Wang Shuangshuang Yang Peng Zhao Jixiang 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4:6
5REGULATION OF FLOW AND SEDIMENT LOAD IN THE YELLOW RIVER显示文摘Small runoff, large sediment load, and incompatible relationship of flow and sediment load are very important characteristics of the Yellow River. They are also the crux of the most prominent problems of the Yellow River. To solve these problems, the regimes of flow and sediment load have to be improved by increasing water, reducing sediment load, and by using reservoirs to regulate flow and sediment load. The results of experiments for regulating the flow and sediment load in the last three years by the Xiaolangdi Reservoir have indicated that this measure is a realistic and effective way to mitigate the prominent problems in flood control of the Lower Yellow River at present and in the near future. However, the regulation system is still imperfect. 7The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 8Morphodynamics of an Artificial Cobble Beach in Tianquan Bay, Xiamen, China显示文摘By tracking and monitoring the profile configuration, topography, and hydrodynamic factors of an artificial cobble beach in Tianquan Bay, Xiamen, China over three consecutive years after its completion, we analyzed the evolution of its profile configura- tion and plane morphology, and its storm response characteristics. The evolution of the profile configuration of the artificial cobble beach in Tianquan Bay can be divided into four stages. The beach was unstable during the initial stage after the beach nourishment the profile configuration changed obviously, and an upper concave composite cobble beach formed gradually, which was character- ized by a steep upper part and a gentle lower part. In the second stage, the cobble beach approached dynamic equilibrium with minor changes in the profile configuration. At the third stage the beach was in a high-energy state under the influence of Typhoon Meranti, and the response of the artificial cobble beach differed significantly from that of the low-tide terrace sandy beach. Within a short time, there was net onshore transport of cobbles in the cross-shore direction. The beach face was eroded, the beach berm was accumulated, and the slope of the beach was steepened considerably. In the alongshore direction, there was notable transport of cobbles on the beach from east to west along the shore, and the total volume of the beach decreased by 4.5×103 m 3, which accounted for 50% of the total amount of beach volume lost within three years. The fourth stage was the restoration stage after the typhoon, characterized by a little gentler profile slope and the increase in width and the decrease in height of beach berm. Because of the action of waves and the wave-driven longshore current caused by the specific terrain and landform conditions along the coast (e.g., coastal headlands, near-shore artificial structures, and reefs), the coastline of the artificial cobble beach gradually evolved from being essentially parallel to the artificial coast upon completion to a slightly curved parabolic shape, and three distinct erosion hotspots were formed on the west side of the cape and the artificial drainpipe, and the reefs. 9Recent active thermal management technologies for the development of energy-optimized aerospace vehicles in China显示文摘Recently, the development of modern vehicles has brought about aggressive integration and miniaturization of on-board electrical and electronic devices. It will lead to exponential growth in both the overall waste heat and heat flux to be dissipated to maintain the devices within a safe temperature range. However, both the total heat sinks aboard and the cooling capacity of currently utilized thermal control strategy are severely limited, which threatens the lifetime of the on-board equipment and even the entire flight system and shrink the vehicle’s flight time and range. Facing these thermal challenges, the USA proposed the program of 'INVENT' to maximize utilities of the available heat sinks and enhance the cooling ability of thermal control strategies. Following the efforts done by the USA researchers, scientists in China fought their ways to develop thermal management technologies for Chinese advanced energy-optimized airplanes and spacecraft. This paper elaborates the available on-board heat sinks and aerospace thermal management systems using both active and passive technologies not confined to the technology in China. Subsequently, active thermal management technologies in China including fuel thermal management system, environment control system, non-fuel liquid cooling strategy are reviewed. 10A flexible thermoelectric device based on a Bi_(2)Te_(3)-carbon nanotube hybrid显示文摘Thermoelectric(TE)materials and devices have attracted great attention due to their ability to convert waste heat to electrical power and active cooling.However,the conventional bulk TE materials are inorganic semiconductors with inherent brittleness and rigidity.They cannot closely contact curved heat sources and sinks,which limits their application in modern electronics.It remains a big challenge to fabricate high-performance TE materials and devices with good flexibility.Here,we report a flexible TE device comprised of a single wall carbon nanotube(SWCNT)network and(0001)-textured Bi_(2)Te_(3)nanocrystals prepared by a magnetron sputtering technique.The unique Bi_(2)Te_(3)-SWCNT hybrid structure has a TE figure of merit(ZT)value of^0.23 at^330 K.A prototype TE device made of this hybrid gives a maximum output power density of^0.93 m W cm^(-2)under a temperature difference of 25 K at ambient temperature and shows good flexibility under bending.Our results open up a new way to the development of flexible TEs and their application in self-powered portable devices.Ying Li Jixiang Qiao Yang Zhao Qing Lan Pengyan Mao Jianhang Qiu Kaiping Tai Chang Liu Huiming Cheng 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,58,23:3
11Monolayer MoS_(2)-based transistors with low contact resistance by inserting ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interfacial layer显示文摘Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)are promising high performance electronic materials due to their interesting semiconductor properties.However,it is acknowledged that the effective electrical contact between TMDCs-layered materials and metals remains one of the major challenges.In this work,the homogeneous monolayer MoS_(2)films with high crystalline quality were prepared by chemical vapor deposition method on SiO2/Si substrates.The back-gate field-effect transistors(FETs)were fabricated by inserting an ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer between the metal electrodes and MoS_(2)nanosheets.With the addition of an ultrathin 0.8 nm Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer,the contact resistance decreased dramatically from 59.9 to 1.3 kΩμm and the Schottky barrier height(SBH)dropped from 102 to 27 meV compared with devices without the Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer.At the same time,the switching ratio increased from~106to~108,and both the on-current and field-effect mobility were greatly improved.We find that the ultrathin Al_(2)O_(3)interlayer can not only reduce the SBH to alleviate the Fermi level pinning phenomenon at the interface,but also protect the channel materials from the influence of air and moisture as a covering layer.In addition,the lattice and band structures of Al_(2)O_(3)/MoS_(2)film were calculated and analyzed by first-principles calculation.It is found that the total density of states of the Al_(2)O_(3)/MoS_(2)film exhibits interfacial polarized metals property,which proves the higher carrier transport characteristics.FETs with Al_(2)O_(3)interlayers have excellent stability and repeatability,which can provide effective references for future low power and high performance electronic devices.CHEN Gang LIN Xin LIU Yuan WANG Fang HU Kai SHAN Xin WU ZeYu ZHANG YuPeng NIE WeiCan ZHONG JiXiang REN TianLing ZHANG KaiLiang 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,6:2
12Loss of ARID1A Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression via Up-regulation of MYC Transcription显示文摘Background and Aims:AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A(ARID1A)is frequently mutated or deficient in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,the role of ARID1A in HCC remains unclear.Therefore,the biological role of ARID1A in HCC was evaluated and a potential mechanism was investigated.Methods:Arid1a was knocked out in the livers of mice using the CRISPR/Cas9 system delivered by hydrodynamic tail vein injection.The development of HCC was observed in different mouse models.The correlation of ARID1A and prognosis in patients with HCC was analyzed using cBioPortal.The effect of ARID1A on cell proliferation was assessed by MTT assay following the manipulation of candidate genes.Results:ARID1A deficiency alone did not cause HCC in mice,but knockout of ARID1A accelerated liver tumorigenesis in response to diethylnitrosamine(DEN)or when a combination knockout of phosphatase and tensin homolog(Pten)plus tumor protein P53(p53)was introduced.ARID1A mutations were associated with a poorer prognosis in HCC patients.The mRNA level of MYC was significantly higher in patients with an ARID1A mutation compared to those without a mutation.Ectopic expression of ARID1A inhibited HCC cell proliferation.ARID1A knockout increased HCC cell growth and resulted in disruptions to DNA damage repair and apoptosis following radiation stress.Furthermore,mechanistic studies revealed that ARID1A inhibited the proliferation of HCC cells via transcriptional down-regulation of MYC.Conclusions:These results describe ARID1A as a tumor suppressor in the liver.A deficiency in ARID1A predicts worse survival in HCC patients and promotes HCC progression via up-regulation of MYC transcription.Yao Xiao Guodong Liu Xiwu Ouyang Denggao Zai Jixiang Zhou Xiaoli Li Qi Zhang Jie Zhao 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,4:2
13Compression algorithm for electrocardiograms based on sparse decomposition显示文摘Sparse decomposition is a new theory in signal processing,with the advantage in that the base(dictionary)used in this theory is over-complete,and can reflect the nature of a signal.Thus,the sparse decomposition of signal can obtain sparse representation,which is very important in data compression.The algorithm of compression based on sparse decomposition is investigated.By training on and learning electrocardiogram(ECG)data in the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database,we constructed an over-complete dictionary of ECGs.Since the atoms in this dictionary are in accord with the character of ECGs,it is possible that an extensive ECG datum is reconstructed by a few nonzero coefficients and atoms.The proposed compression algorithm can adjust compression ratio according to practical request,and the distortion is low(when the compression ratio is 20∶1,the standard error is 5.11%).The experiments prove the feasibility of the proposed compression algorithm.Chunguang WANG Jinjiang LIU Jixiang SUN 2009Frontiers of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in China2009,4,1:2

15A comparison of next-generation sequencing analysis methods for cancer xenograft samples显示文摘The application of next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology in cancer is influenced by the quality and purity of tissue samples. This issue is especially critical for patient-derived xenograft(PDX) models,which have proven to be by far the best preclinical tool for investigating human tumor biology, because the sensitivity and specificity of NGS analysis in xenograft samples would be compromised by the contamination of mouse DNA and RNA. This definitely affects downstream analyses by causing inaccurate mutation calling and gene expression estimates. The reliability of NGS data analysis for cancer xenograft samples is therefore highly dependent on whether the sequencing reads derived from the xenograft could be distinguished from those originated from the host. That is, each sequence read needs to be accurately assigned to its original species. 16The feasibility of using soil seed bank for natural regeneration of degraded sandy grasslands显示文摘Desertification in degraded grasslands is manifested through the development of bare sandy patches,which eventually lead to habitat fragmentation.The ability of these bare sandy patches to regenerate naturally through in-situ soil seed banks is not well understood.To fill this knowledge gap,we randomly selected 24 bare sandy patches with areas ranging from 19 to 898 m^(2) in a desertified grassland of the Horqin sandy land,Northern China to determine whether soil seed bank can be used for natural regeneration of bare sandy patches.Species composition and density of soil seed bank as well as aboveground vegetation composition,abundance and coverage were investigated.We then determined their relationships with in-situ habitat characteristics.Our observations showed that the studied area had low soil seed bank density and species richness,as well as depauperate soil seed bank communities.Consequently,local soil seed bank was not able to provide sufficient seed source for natural regeneration.This was indicated by the relationships between aboveground vegetation,soil seed bank and the in-situ habitat characteristics.For bare patches with an area between 300 m^(2) and 900 m^(2),increase the soil seed bank density and species richness should be the main restoration measures.For bare patches with a small area of less than 50 m^(2),restoration of vegetation density should be the main measure.Our data highlighted that different extents of desertification,indicated by different bare patches,are requiring distinct restoration measures.Yongcui Wang Lei Chu Zhimin Liu MuSa Ala Jixiang Lin Jianqiang Qian Quanlai Zhou Lixin Wang 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,3:1
17Field Efficacy Trial and Optimum Control Period of Rice False Smut(Ustilaginoidea virens) in Single Cropping Middle-late Rice显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to study optimum chemical agents and control periods against rice false smut( Ustilaginoidea virens) in single cropping middle-late rice. [Method]Taking chemical agents( triadimefon,armure,Jinggangmycin) as main treatments and spraying periods( within 7 d before initial heading stage,within 7 d before initial heading stage + initial heading stage,initial heading stage) as assisted treatments,the field efficacy trial and optimum control period of U. virens in single cropping middle-late rice were studied using Huanghuazhan and Jinnongsimiao as experimental materials in 2013. [Result] Three chemical agents,triadimefon,armure,Jinggangmycin,extremely reduced diseased panicle rate and disease index of U. virens,but there was no significant difference among three chemical agents. Spraying period did not have significant impact on diseased panicle rate and disease index of U. virens,whereas spraying within7 d before initial heading stage and during initial heading stage had relatively good control effect. Yield increased significantly after application of three chemical agents,and armure led to greater increase. The reason for yield increase was that seed setting rate was significantly increased,and the number of filled grains per panicle was significantly increased. Although spraying period influenced yield,the difference was not significant. [Conclusion] Triadimefon,armure and Jinggangmycin had good control effects against U. virens in single cropping middle-late rice,of which armure had better control effects. Spraying chemical agents increased seed setting rate,and further increased the number of filled grains per panicle and yield.
