1Accuracy and spatio-temporal variation of high resolution satellite rainfall estimate over the Ganjiang River Basin显示文摘Based on spatial interpolation rainfall of the ground gauge measurement,we proposed a method to comprehensively evaluate and compare the accuracy of satellite rainfall estimates (SREs) at three spatial scales:0.25°×0.25° grid scale,sub-catchment scale and the whole basin scale.Using this method,we evaluated the accuracy of six high-resolution monthly SREs (TRMM 3B42 V6,3B42RT V6,CMORPH,GSMaP MWR+,GSMaP MVK+ and PERSIANN) and revealed the spatio-temporal variation of the SRE accuracy based on spatial interpolated rainfall from a dense network of 325 gauges during 2003-2009 over the Ganjiang River Basin in the Southeast China.The results showed that ground gauge-calibrated 3B42 had the highest accuracy with slight overestimation,whereas the other five uncalibrated SREs had severe underestimation.The accuracy of the six SREs in wet seasons was remarkably higher than that in the dry seasons.When the time scale was expanded,the accuracy of SRE,particularly 3B42,increased.Furthermore,the accuracy of SREs was relatively low in the western mountains and northern piedmont areas,while it was relatively high in the central and southeastern hills and basins of the Ganjiang River Basin.When the space scale was expanded,the accuracy of the six SREs gradually increased.This study provided an example for of SRE accuracy validation in other regions,and a direct basis for further study of SRE-based hydrological process.HU QingFang YANG DaWen WANG YinTang YANG HanBo 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,4:19
2Whole-genome sequencing provides insights into the genetic diversity and domestication of bitter gourd(Momordica spp.)显示文摘Bitter gourd(Momordica charantia)is a popular cultivated vegetable in Asian and African countries.To reveal the characteristics of the genomic structure,evolutionary trajectory,and genetic basis underlying the domestication of bitter gourd,we performed whole-genome sequencing of the cultivar Dali-11 and the wild small-fruited line TR and resequencing of 187 bitter gourd germplasms from 16 countries.The major gene clusters(Bi clusters)for the biosynthesis of cucurbitane triterpenoids,which confer a bitter taste,are highly conserved in cucumber,melon,and watermelon.Comparative analysis among cucurbit genomes revealed that the Bi cluster involved in cucurbitane triterpenoid biosynthesis is absent in bitter gourd.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the TR group,including 21 bitter gourd germplasms,may belong to a new species or subspecies independent from M.charantia.Furthermore,we found that the remaining 166 M.charantia germplasms are geographically differentiated,and we identified 710,412,and 290 candidate domestication genes in the South Asia,Southeast Asia,and China populations,respectively.This study provides new insights into bitter gourd genetic diversity and domestication and will facilitate the future genomics-enabled improvement of bitter gourd.Junjie Cui Yan Yang Shaobo Luo Le Wang Rukui Huang Qingfang Wen Xiaoxia Han Nansheng Miao Jiaowen Cheng Ziji Liu Changyuan Zhang Chengcheng Feng Haisheng Zhu Jianwen Su Xinjian Wan Fang Hu Yu Niu Xiaoming Zheng Yulan Yang Dai Shan Zhensheng Dong Weiming He Narinder P.S.Dhillon Kailin Hu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:7
3The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 4Effect of nitrogen limitation on antioxidant qualities is highly associated with genotypes of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.)显示文摘Antioxidants are highly beneficial to human health, and their accumulation in lettuce, one of the most popular leafy vegetables, depends on both genetic and environmental factors. Nitrogen(N) availability plays an essential role in regulating antioxidant accumulation, but the influence of genotype × N interactions on the antioxidant qualities of lettuce is poorly understood. Therefore, the present study investigated the variation of growth and antioxidant qualities of 20 lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.) genotypes(10 green lettuce genotypes and 10 red lettuce genotypes) under limited N(low N, LN) conditions and standard N(high N, HN) conditions. For all 20 genotypes, LN conditions reduced shoot(i.e., leaf) growth, but increased plant concentrations of vitamin C,glutathione, and phenolic compounds, with the exception of carotenoids, compared with HN conditions. Because of reduced biomass under LN conditions, not all lettuce genotypes exhibited increased antioxidant yields or total antioxidant capacity yield. The variation in antioxidant quality was primarily genetically determined. Generally, the green lettuce genotypes exhibited more pronounced increases in antioxidant yields and total antioxidant capacity yield than the red lettuce genotypes under LN conditions. These results suggest that even though LN conditions generally tend to improve the antioxidant qualities of lettuce, the extent of this effect is highly dependent on genotype. 5Extraordinary simultaneous enhancement of the coercivity and remanence of dual alloy HRE-free Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets by post-sinter annealing显示文摘Post-sinter annealing process plays an important role in the microstructures and magnetic properties of the Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets.In this paper,systematically investigated are the magnetic properties and microstructures of the as-sintered and post-sinter annealed Nd-Fe-B magnets with Pr-Fe-Ga boundary addition.Two choice consecutive annealing methods are adopted at high and low temperatures,namely the 1 st annealing at 880℃ for 2 h and then the 2^(nd) annealing at 440℃ for 3 h.It is exceptional to find out that both the remanence and coercivity are improved after 2^(nd) annealing process for this type of magnet.The coercivity is hugely increased from 10.09 kOe for the as-sintered sample to 17.19 kOe for the 2^(nd) annealed magnet,with a significant increment of 70.37%in coercivity.The extraordinary magnetic properties of B_(r)=14.44 kGs,H_(cj)=17.19 kOe and(BH)_(max)=51.08 MGOe are obtained for the designated Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets without heavy rare earth(HRE)elements manufactured by dual alloy method.The Curie temperature is monotonically decreased from 634 K to 602 K while the c-axis alignment degree is optimized after annealing.Microstructural observation and analysis indicate that the elemental distribution patterns are altered after the 2^(nd) annealing.The diffusion of the aggregate(Pr,Nd,Cu,Ga)-rich phase from triple junctions into the grain boundary regions is ascribed to the formation of thin and continuous grain boundary layer,which is critical to improve the microstructures and magnetic properties.Qingfang Huang Qingzheng Jiang Jifan Hu Sajjad Ur Rehman Gang Fu Qichen Quan Jixiang Huang Deqin Xu Dakun Chen Zhenchen Zhong 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,11:3

8An unusual COVID-19 case with over four months of viral shedding in the presence of low neutralizing antibodies: a case report显示文摘The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global public health crisis,causing social and economic disasters in many countries.In China,two-consecutive negative results of nucleic acid tests for SARS-CoV-2 from the respiratory samples are required to end the quarantine of COVID-19 patients.However,clinicians face a dilemma in case of patients with long-term viral shedding.This report described an unusual COVID-19 case who had persistent viral RNA positivity for more than 4 months after initial illness in the presence of low neutralizing antibodies,but without prolonged clinical symptoms.Multiple anti-viral drug treatments had no impact and there was no evidence of re-infection.When the patient was self-quarantined at home,no infection occurred to the three family members living with her for 15 to 19 days.Sputum viral culture in BSL-3 laboratory on the 102nd day after symptom onset was negative.From the 129th day on,8 continuous nucleic acid tests of sputum samples showed negative results.The patient was discharged on 137th days since symptom onset.In conclusion,viral RNA shedding in the sputum of the COVID-19 patient may last over 4 months.As no evidence shows the existence of infectious virus,two-consecutive negative nucleic acid tests may not be the prerequisite for ending quarantine of COVID-19 patients with prolonged viral shedding.Wei Chen Zhiliang Hu Changhua Yi Yun Chi Qingfang Xiong Chee Wah Tan Yongxiang Yi Lin-Fa Wang 2020The Journal of Biomedical Research2020,34,6:1

13Graphene/SiC-coated textiles with excellent electromagnetic interference shielding,Joule heating,high-temperature resistance,and pressure-sensing performances显示文摘Multifunctional,wearable,and durable textiles integrated with smart electronics have attracted tremendous attention.However,it remains a great challenge to balance new functionalities with high-temperature stability.Herein,textile-based pressure sensors with excellent electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding,Joule heating,and high-temperature resistance were fabricated by constructing graphene/SiC(G/SiC)heterostructures on carbon cloth via laser chemical vapor deposition(LCVD).The resultant textiles exhibited excellent EMI efficiency of 74.2 dB with a thickness of 0.45 mm,Joule heating performance within a low working voltage(V)range of 1-3 V,and fast response time within 20 s.These properties arose from multiple reflections,interfacial polarization,and high conductivity due to the numerous amounts of nanoscale G/SiC heterostructures.More importantly,G/SiC/carbon fibers(CFs)demonstrated well high-temperature resistance with a heat resistance index(THri)of 380.2 C owing to the protection of a coating layer on the CFs upon oxidation.Meanwhile,the G/SiC/CFs presented good pressure-sensing performance with high sensitivity(S)of 52.93 kPal,fast response time of 85 ms,and a wide pressure range of up to 186 kPa.These features imply the potential of the G/SiC/CFs as efficient EMI shielding,electrical heater,and piezoresistive sensor textiles.Chongjie Wang Qingfang Xu Jinrong Hu Pengjan Lu Han Wu Bingian Guo Rong Tu Kai Liu Meijun Yang Song Zhang Bao-Wen Li Chuanbin Wang Lianmeng Zhang 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,4:0

15Spatio-temporal accuracy evaluation of MSWEP daily precipitation over the Huaihe River Basin,China:A comparison study with representative satellite-and reanalysis-based products显示文摘Multi-source weighted-ensemble precipitation(MSWEP)is one of the most popular merged global precipitation products with long-term spanning and high spatial resolution.While various studies have acknowledged its ability to accurately estimate precipitation in terms of temporal dynamics,its performance regarding spatial pattern and extreme rainfall is overlooked.To fill this knowledge gap,the daily precipitation of two versions of MSWEP(MSWEP V2.1&V2.2)are compared with that of three representative satellite-and reanalysis-based products,namely the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission(TRMM 3B42 V7),the climate prediction center morphing technique satellite-gauge merged product(CMORPH BLD),and the fifth-generation reanalysis product of the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts(ERA5).The comparison is made according to the dense daily rainfall observations from 539 rain gauges over the Huaihe River Basin in China during 2006–2015.The results show that MSWEP V2.1,MSWEP V2.2 and CMORPH BLD have better performance on temporal accuracy of precipitation estimation,followed by ERA5 and TRMM 3B42V7.MSWEPs yield the most even spatial distribution across the basin since it takes full advantage of the multi datasets.As the weighted-ensemble method is independently carried out on each grid in MSWEPs,the spatial distribution of local precipitation is changed by different source data,which results in that MSWEPs perform worse than CMORPH BLD in terms of the representation of precipitation spatial pattern.In addition,the capability of MSWEPs to describe the spatial structure in the rainy season is lower than that in the dry season.Strong precipitation(≥100 mm/d)events are better represented in TRMM 3B42 V7 products than in MSWEPs.Finally,based on the comparison results,we suggest to improve the merging algorithm of MSWEP by considering the precipitation spatial self-correlation and adjusting the merging weights based on the performance of the source datasets under different precipitation intensities.LI Lingjie WANG Yintang WANG Leizhi HU Qingfang ZHU Zhenduo LI Liping LI Chengxi 2022Journal of Geographical Sciences2022,32,11:0
16Colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor inhibition combined with paclitaxel exerts effective antitumor effects in the treatment of ovarian cancer显示文摘Ovarian cancer is the tumor with the highest mortality among gynecological malig-nancies.Studies have confirmed that paclitaxel chemoresistance is associated with increased infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)in the microenvironment.Colony-stimu-lating factor 1(CSF-1)receptor(CSF-1R)plays a key role in regulating the number and differ-entiation of macrophages in certain solid tumors.There are few reports on the effects of targeted inhibition of CSF-1R in combination with chemotherapy on ovarian cancer and the tu-mor microenvironment.Here,we explored the antitumor efficacy and possible mechanisms of the CSF-1R inhibitor pexidartinib(PLX3397)when combined with the first-line chemothera-peutic agent paclitaxel in the treatment of ovarian cancer.We found that CSF-1R is highly ex-pressed in ovarian cancer cells and correlates with poor prognosis.Treatment by PLX3397 in combination with paclitaxel significantly inhibited the growth of ovarian cancer both in vitro and in vivo.Blockade of CSF-1R altered the macrophage phenotype and reprogrammed the immunosuppressive cell population in the tumor microenvironment.Meijia Yu Yiming Wu Qingfang Li Weiqi Hong Yang Yang Xiaoyi Hu Yanfei Yang Tianqi Lu Xia Zhao Xiawei Wei 2024Genes & Diseases2024,11,3:0
