A fast,edge-preserving,distance-regularized model with bilateral filtering for oil spill segmentation of SAR images显示文摘Marine oil spills are among the most significant sources of marine pollution.Synthetic aperture radar(SAR)has been used to improve oil spill observations because of its advantages in oil spill detection and identification. However, speckle noise, weak boundaries, and intensity inhomogeneity often exist in the oil spill regions of SAR imagery, which will seriously aff ect the accurate identification of oil spills. To enhance marine oil spill segmentation of SAR images,a fast,edge-preserving framework based on the distance-regularized level set evolution(DRLSE)model was proposed.Specifically,a bilateral filter penalty term is designed and incorporated into the DRLSE energy function(BF-DRLSE)to preserve the edges of oil spills, and an adaptive initial box boundary was selected for the DRLSE model to reduce the operation time complexity. Two sets of RadarSat-2 SAR data were used to test the proposed method. The experimental results indicate that the bilateral filtering scheme incorporated into the energy function during level set evolution improved the stability of level set evolution.Compared with other methods, the proposed improved BF-DRLSE algorithm displayed a higher overall segmentation accuracy(97.83%).In addition, using an appropriate initial box boundary for the DRLSE method accelerated the global search process, improved the accuracy of oil spill segmentation, and reduced computational time. Therefore, the results suggest that the proposed framework is eff ective and applicable for marine oil spill segmentation. | Wandi WANG Hui SHENG Yanlong CHEN Shanwei LIU Jijun MAO Zhe ZENG Jianhua WAN | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 3
Development of a hydrodynamic model and the corresponding virtual software for dual-loop circulating fluidized beds显示文摘Dual-loop circulating fluidized bed(CFB)reactors have been widely applied in industry because of their good heat and mass transfer characteristics and continuous handling ability. However, the design of such reactors is notoriously difficult owing to the poor understanding of the underlying mechanisms, meaning it has been heavily based on empiricism and stepwise experiments.Modeling the gas-solid CFB system requires a quantitative description of the multiscale heterogeneity in the sub-reactors and the strong coupling between them. This article proposed a general method for modeling multiloop CFB systems by utilizing the energy minimization multiscale(EMMS)principle.A full-loop modeling scheme was implemented by using the EMMS model and/or its extension models to compute the hydrodynamic parameters of the sub-reactors,to achieve the mass conservation and pressure balance in each circulation loop.Based on the modularization strategy, corresponding interactive simulation software was further developed to facilitate the flexible creation and fast modeling of a customized multi-loop CFB reactor. This research can be expected to provide quantitative references for the design and scale-up of gas-solid CFB reactors and lay a solid foundation for the realization of virtual process engineering. | Shanwei Hu Xinhua Liu | 2021 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,3: | 3

Performance Improvement of Single Screw Compressor by Meshing Clearance Adjustment Used in Refrigeration System显示文摘The single screw compressor(SSC)is widely used in air compression and refrigeration systems due to its many advantages. The meshing clearance between the screw groove and gate rotor teeth flank has a significant influence on the compressor performance. In this paper, mathematical calculation models describing the internal working process of the SSC are established in order to evaluate the thermal dynamic characteristics of the compressor under varying meshing clearance heights. The refrigerating capacity, volume efficiency and adiabatic efficiency of the SSC are calculated and discussed.Three prototypes, with different meshing clearance heights, were manufactured to study the internal influence mechanisms. The theoretical model was verified using experimental data and the calculation results strongly agreed with the experimental results. Results demonstrate that comparisons of volume efficiency and adiabatic efficiency between the measured and calculated results exhibited deviations of 3.64%-7.98%and 5.92%-9.4%,respectively.Based on the models, analysis under varying meshing clearance heights and working conditions was performed.Taking into account working performance, actual manufacturing conditions and manufacturing cost limitations,a meshing clearance height range from 0.01 mm to 0.08 mm is suggested. This study can provide important theoretical data and experimental support for the design, manufacturing and optimization of single screw compressors. | LU Yuanwei LIU Shanwei WU Yuting LEI Biao ZHI Ruiping WEN Qiangyu MA Chongfang | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,1: | 1

Design of continuous long slot leaky-wave antenna for millimeter wave application显示文摘A simple and efficient design scheme of the continuous long slot leaky-wave antenna is developed. The key steps involved in the scheme are summarized. First, the cut-off frequencies of slot waveguides with different slot offsets are obtained by 3D finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Second, the attenuation functionαra is estimated by the aperture distribution, and the attenuation functionαrs is determined by the slot radiation. Finally, the attenuation functionαra is combined with the attenuation functionαrs by the coefficient K. And an example in Ka band is presented. Moreover, the return loss of the E-plane Tee-junction (ET) and the radiation pattern of leaky-wave antenna are simulated. The scheme is verified by comparing with the experimental result. | LU Shanwei Zhang Yan Liu Juan Zhang Jiangling | 2007 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2007,18,4: | 1
A multi-module with a two-way feedback method for Ulva drift-diffusion显示文摘The outbreak of Ulva in the Yellow Sea has seriously affected marine ecology and economic activities. Therefore, effective prediction of the distribution of Ulva is of great significance for disaster prevention and reduction. However, the prediction method of Ulva is mainly based on numerical simulation. There are two problems with these methods.First is that the initial distribution of Ulva is simulated using independent pixel-level particles.Besides, the influence of Ulva growth and diffusion on the drift is not considered. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-module with a two-way feedback method(MTF)to solve the above problems. The main contributions of our approach are summarized as follows.First, the initialization module, the generation and elimination module, and the drive module are composed in our way.Second,we proposed an initialization method using rectangle objects to simulate the Ulva distribution extracted from remote sensing images.Thirdly, the drift and diffusion mechanism of the Ulva is considered to realize the two-way feedback between the generation and elimination module and the drive module. The results of our experiments show that the MTF performs better than the traditional method in predicting the drift and diffusion of Ulva. The code is already publicly available at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asovcwuonu6vuo6c0v.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/UPCGIT/A-multi-module-with-a-two-way-feedback-method-for-Ulva-drift-diffusion. | Hui Sheng Jianmeng Li Qimao Wang Bin Zou Lijian Shi Mingming Xu Shanwei Liu Jianhua Wan Zhe Zeng Yanlong Chen | 2023 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,12: | 0
Optimization of decoupling combustion characteristics of coal briquettes and biomass pellets in household stoves显示文摘Burning coal briquettes or biomass pellets in household decoupling stoves is of significance to the reduction of residential pollutant emissions such as NO and CO. In order to make full use of the superiority of decoupling combustion technology, the household stoves should be specially designed and optimized to adapt to fuel types and combustion characteristics. Using numerical simulation and experimental validation, this study quantitatively clarified that the reducibility of devolatilization char plays an important role in the suppression of NO emission in the decoupling combustion of coal, while the reducibility of pyrolysis gases has a dominant effect on the reduction of NO in the decoupling combustion of biomass. An optimal parameter combination of throat height and grate angle was obtained for the simultaneous suppression of NO and CO emissions in the household decoupling stove burning coal briquettes. Two types of decoupling stoves were developed to enable the clean combustion of biomass pellets. The A-type biomass stove with a multi-pass smoke tunnel shows a better comprehensive NO and CO reduction effectiveness than the B-type biomass stove consisting of a two-stage grate structure and an S-shaped pyrolysis chamber. The optimal structural parameters provided references for the design and manufacture of commercial decoupling coal and biomass stoves. | Jian Han Xinhua Liu Shanwei Hu Nan Zhang Jingjing Wang Bin Liang | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,59,7: | 0
A new decomposition model of sea level variability for the sea level anomaly time series prediction显示文摘Rising sea level is of great significance to coastal societies;predicting sea level extent in coastal regions is critical. When carrying out predictions, the subsequences obtained using decomposition methods may exhibit a certain regularity and therefore can provide multidimensional information that can be used to improve prediction models.Traditional decomposition methods such as seasonal and trend decomposition using Loess(STL)focus mostly on the fluctuating trend of time series and ignore its impact on prediction. Methods in the signal decomposition domain, such as variational mode decomposition(VMD),have no physical significance. In response to the above problems,a new decomposition method for sea level anomaly time series prediction(DMSLAP)is proposed. With this method, the trend term in a time series can be isolated and the effects of abnormal sea level change behaviors can be attenuated. We decompose multiperiod characteristics using this method while maintaining the smoothness of the analyzed series.Satellite altimetry data from 1993 to 2020 are used in experiments conducted in the study area. The results are then compared with predictions obtained using existing decomposition methods such as the STL and VMD methods and time varying filtering based on empirical mode decomposition(TVF-EMD).The performance of DMSLAP combined with a prediction method resulted in optimal sea level anomaly(SLA)predictions, with a minimum root mean square error(RMSE)of 1.40 cm and a maximum determination coefficient(R^(2))of 0.93 during 2020.The DMSLAP method was more accurate when predicting 1-year data and 3-year data. The TVF-EMD and DMSLAP methods had comparable accuracies, and the periodic term decomposed by the DMSLAP method was more in line with the actual law than that derived using the TVF-EMD method. Thus,DMSLAP can decompose SLA time series better than existing methods and is an effective tool for obtaining short-term SLA prediction. | Qinting SUN Jianhua WAN Shanwei LIU Jinghui JIANG Yasir MUHAMMAD | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,5: | 0
Ulva prolifera subpixel mapping with multiple-feature decision fusion显示文摘The unavoidable nature of Ulva prolifera mixed pixel in low-resolution remote sensing images would result in rough boundary of U.prolifera patches, omission of tiny patches, and overestimation of coverage area. The decomposition of U.prolifera mixed pixel addresses the issue of coverage area overestimation, and the remaining problems can be alleviated by subpixel mapping(SPM).Due to the drift and dissipation of U.prolifera,a suitable SPM method is the single image-based unsupervised method. However, the method has difficulties in detail reconstruction, insufficient learning of spectral information, and SPM error introduced by abundance deviation. Therefore,we proposed a multiple-feature decision fusion SPM(MFDFSPM)method. It involves three branches to obtain the spatial, abundance, and spectral features of U.prolifera while considers multi-feature information using the fusion strategy.Experiments on the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager images in the Yellow Sea of China indicate that the MFDFSPM overperforms several typical U.prolifera SPM methods in higher accuracy and stronger robustness in both SPM and abundance calculation, which produced subpixel map with more detailed spatial information and less noise. | Jianhua WAN Xianci WAN Lie SUN Mingming XU Hui SHENG Shanwei LIU Bin ZOU Qimao WANG | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,3: | 0
