| 1 | Predicting geological hazards during tunnel construction显示文摘The complicated geological conditions and geological hazards are challenging problems during tunnel construction,which will cause great losses of life and property.Therefore,reliable prediction of geological defective features,such as faults,karst caves and groundwater,has important practical significances and theoretical values.In this paper,we presented the criteria for detecting typical geological anomalies using the tunnel seismic prediction(TSP) method.The ground penetrating radar(GPR) signal response to water-bearing structures was used for theoretical derivations.And the 3D tomography of the transient electromagnetic method(TEM) was used to develop an equivalent conductance method.Based on the improvement of a single prediction technique,we developed a technical system for reliable prediction of geological defective features by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of all prediction methods.The procedure of the application of this system was introduced in detail.For prediction,the selection of prediction methods is an important and challenging work.The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) was developed for prediction optimization.We applied the newly developed prediction system to several important projects in China,including Hurongxi highway,Jinping II hydropower station,and Kiaochow Bay subsea tunnel.The case studies show that the geological defective features can be successfully detected with good precision and efficiency,and the prediction system is proved to be an effective means to minimize the risks of geological hazards during tunnel construction. | Shucai Li Shuchen Li Qingsong Zhang Yiguo Xue Bin Liu Maoxin Su Zhechao Wang Shugang Wang | 2010 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2010,2,3: | 25 |
| 2 | Effect of acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) on cardiac function using echocardiography in myocardial ischemia rats induced by isoproterenol显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of acupuncture at Neiguan(PC 6) on cardiac function using echocardiography in rat models of myocardial ischemia(MI) induced by isoproterenol(ISO).METHODS: Twenty-seven Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to normal, model, and acupuncture groups. The model and acupuncture groups were given injections of ISO(85 mg/kg) to establish the MI model. After model establishment,the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at Neiguan(PC 6) for 30 min. Echocardiography was used to monitor diastolic and systolic function for 30 min starting from the time after the acupuncture needles were removed. Changes in the length of left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole(LVIDd), length of left ventricular internal diameter at end-systole(LVIDs), the ratio of mitral peak velocity at early diastole and atrial contraction(E/A), ejection fraction(EF), fractional shortening(FS), and stroke volume(SV) were measured.RESULTS: Compared with the model group at 0and 15 min after needles were removed, the means of LVIDd and LVIDs were significantly lower(P <0.01) and E/A, EF, FS, and SV significantly higher(P < 0.01) in the acupuncture group. In the acupuncture group, the means of LVIDd and LVIDs15 min after the needles were removed were significantly higher(P < 0.01) than those at 0 min. | 3 | sEMG based quantitative assessment of acupuncture on Bell's palsy:an experimental study显示文摘Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese therapeutic method, recognized by western medicine as an important complementary therapy. However, the efficacy assessment of this traditional intervention has been mainly empirical rather than scientific. In this paper, we propose a surface electromyography(s EMG) based approach for quantitative assessment of acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The assessment is made by comparing the muscle activities of healthy with diseased ones. A feature-vector of four individual s EMG features is introduced for more comprehensive representation of muscle activity. A clustering technique is then proposed to calculate quantitative differences between the muscle activities of the healthy and diseased sides. A regressive model is also proposed to predict the recovery trend of a patient based on the quantitative assessments during his/her clinical acupuncture history. | 5 | Overexpression of amplified in breast cancer 1 (AIB1) gene promotes lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness in vitro and in vivo by upregulating C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4显示文摘Background:We previously found that overexpression of the gene known as amplified in breast cancer 1(AIB1)was associated with lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.However,the role of AIB1 in that malignancy remains unknown.The present study aimed to investigate the function of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma cell metastasis.Methods:A series of in vivo and in vitro assays were performed to elucidate the function of AIB1,while real-time PCR and Western blotting were utilized to identify the potential downstream targets of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma metastasis.Rescue experiments and in vitro assays were performed to investigate whether the invasive-ness of AIB1-induced lung adenocarcinoma was mediated by C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4).Results:The ectopic overexpression of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma cells substantially enhanced cell migration and invasive abilities in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo,whereas the depletion of AIB1 expression substantially inhibited lung adenocarcinoma cell migration and invasion.CXCR4 was identified as a potential downstream target of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma.The knockdown of AIB1 greatly reduced CXCR4 gene expression at both the transcription and protein levels,whereas the knockdown of CXCR4 in cells with AIB1 ectopic overexpression diminished AIB1-induced migration and invasion in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo.Furthermore,we found a significant positive association between the expression of AIB1 and CXCR4 in lung adenocarcinoma patients(183 cases),and the co-overexpression of AIB1 and CXCR4 predicted the poorest prognosis.Conclusions:These findings suggest that AIB1 promotes the aggressiveness of lung adenocarcinoma in vitro and in vivo by upregulating CXCR4 and that it might be usable as a novel prognostic marker and/or therapeutic target for this disease. | Liru He Haixia Deng Shiliang Liu Jiewei Chen Binkui Li Chenyuan Wang Xin Wang Yiguo Jiang Ningfang Ma Mengzhong Liu Dan Xie | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 2 |

| 8 | 3D confined self-assembling of QD within super-engineering block copolymers as biocompatible superparticles enabling stimulus responsive solid state fluorescence显示文摘Eliminating colloidal toxicity and enabling its intrinsic fluorescence in aggressive environmental conditions are the key challenges for commercializing hydrophobic cadmium based quantum dots(QD).Polyarylene ether nitriles(PEN)are an example of super-engineering thermoplastics that possess a unique combination of thermal stability,intrinsic fluorescence,biocompatibility and distinct emulsion self-assembly feature.Herein,the co-self-assembly of amphiphilic PEN with hydrophobic CdSe@ZnS QD,confined in the three-dimensional(3D)oil-in-water emulsion droplets,has been explored tofabricate fluorescent microparticles(FMP).It was found that these FMP demonstrated good biocompatibility(cell viability above 90%),while exhibiting a fluorescence emission in aqueous solution that was retained(intensity retention ratio above 80%)within the whole pH range of 1-14,as well as,after being subjected to autoclaving at 120℃for 1 h.Interestingly,it was discovered that introduction of calcium ions in the emulsion self-assembly contributed to in-situ generation of phase changing nanoplates inside the FMP,which led to the photo-thermal modulated solid state fluorescence from drop-casted FMP film.Thanks to their versatile fluorescence,these FMP colloids were exploited as fluorescent probes for macrophages imaging,while micro-patterns with reversible changing of emission color were induced via thermal treatment and direct laser lithography. | Xiaohong He Kun Jia Robert Marks Yiguo Hu Xiaobo Liu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Effectiveness of indoor residual spraying on malaria control: a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Indoor residual spraying(IRS)is one of the key interventions recommended by World Health Organization in preventing malaria infection.We aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of global studies about the impact of IRS on malaria control.Method:We searched PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,and Scopus for relevant studies published from database establishment to 31 December 2021.Random-effects models were used to perform meta-analysis and subgroup analysis to pool the odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI).Meta-regression was used to investigate potential factors of heterogeneity across studies.Results:Thirty-eight articles including 81 reports and 1,174,970 individuals were included in the meta-analysis.IRS was associated with lower rates of malaria infection(OR=0.35,95%CI:0.27-0.44).The significantly higher effectiveness was observed in IRS coverage≥80%than in IRS coverage<80%.Pyrethroids was identified to show the greatest performance in malaria control.In addition,higher effectiveness was associated with a lower gross domestic product as well as a higher coverage of IRS and bed net utilization.Conclusions:IRS could induce a positive effect on malaria infection globally.The high IRS coverage and the use of pyrethroids are key measures to reduce malaria infection.More efforts should focus on increasing IRS coverage,developing more effective new insecticides against malaria,and using multiple interventions comprehensively to achieve malaria control goals. | Yiguo Zhou Wan-Xue Zhang Eljah Tembo Ming-Zhu Xie Shan-Shan Zhang Xin-Rui Wang Ting-Ting Wei Xin Feng Yi-Lin Zhang Juan Du Ya-Qiong Liu Xuan Zhang Fuqiang Cui Qing-Bin Lu | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,4: | 0 |
