| 1 | Sintilimab versus docetaxel as second-line treatment in advanced or metastatic squamous non-small-cell lung cancer:an open-label,randomized controlled phase 3 trial(ORIENT-3)显示文摘Background:Treatment options for Chinese patients with locally advanced or metastatic squamous-cell non-small-cell lung cancer(sqNSCLC)after failure of first-line chemotherapy are limited.This study(ORIENT-3)aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sintilimab versus docetaxel as second-line treatment in patients with locally advanced or metastatic sqNSCLC.Methods:ORIENT-3 was an open-label,multicenter,randomized controlled phase 3 trial that recruited patients with stage IIIB/IIIC/IV sqNSCLC after failure with first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.Patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive either 200 mg of sintilimab or 75 mg/m^(2) of docetaxel intravenously every 3 weeks,stratified by the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status.The primary endpoint was overall survival(OS)in the full analysis set(FAS).Secondary endpoints included progression-free survival(PFS),objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),duration of response(DoR)and safety.Results:Between August 25,2017,and November 7,2018,290 patients were randomized.For FAS,10 patients fromthe docetaxel armwere excluded.Themedian OS was 11.79(n=145;95%confidence interval[CI],10.28-15.57)months with sintilimab versus 8.25(n=135;95%CI,6.47-9.82)months with docetaxel(hazard ratio[HR]:0.74;95%CI,0.56-0.96;P=0.025).Sintilimab treatment significantly prolonged PFS(median 4.30 vs.2.79 months;HR:0.52;95%CI,0.39-0.68;P<0.001)and showed higher ORR(25.50%vs.2.20%,P<0.001)and DCR(65.50%vs.37.80%,P<0.001)than the docetaxel arm.The median DoRwas 12.45(95%CI,4.86-25.33)months in the sintilimab arm and 4.14(95%CI,1.41-7.23)months in the docetaxel arm(P=0.045).Treatment-related adverse events of grade≥3were reported in 26(18.1%)patients in the sintilimab arm and 47(36.2%)patients in the docetaxel arm.Exploratory biomarker analysis showed potential predictive values of expression levels of two transcription factors,including OVOL2(HR:0.35;P<0.001)and CTCF(HR:3.50;P<0.001),for sintilimab treatment.Conclusions:Compared with docetaxel,sintilimab significantly improved the OS,PFS,and ORR of Chinese patients with previously treated locally advanced or metastatic sqNSCLC. | Yuankai Shi Lin Wu Xinmin Yu Puyuan Xing Yan Wang Jianying Zhou Airong Wang Jianhua Shi Yi Hu Ziping Wang Guangyu An Yong Fang Sanyuan Sun Caicun Zhou Changli Wang Feng Ye Xingya Li Junye Wang Mengzhao Wang Yunpeng Liu Yanqiu Zhao Ying Yuan Jifeng Feng Zhendong Chen Jindong Shi Tao Sun Gang Wu Yongqian Shu Qisen Guo Yi Zhang Yong Song Shucai Zhang Yuan Chen Wei Li Hongrui Niu Wenwei Hu Lijun Wang Jianan Huang Yang Zhang Ying Cheng Zhengdong Wu Bo Peng Jiya Sun Christoph Mancao Yanqi Wang Luyao Sun | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,12: | 8 |
| 2 | Chromosome doubling of Sedum alfredii Hance: A novel approach for improving phytoremediation efficiency显示文摘Sedum alfredii Hance is a cadmium(Cd)/zinc(Zn)hyperaccumulator native to China.However,its relatively low biomass restricted the large-scale application for heavy metal contamination remediation.The chromosome set doubling of S.alfredii in vitro was achieved by 0.1%–0.2%(W/V)colchicine treatment.The plant DNA ploidy was analyzed by flow cytometry and chromosome set doubling plants(CSD)were identified based on the obvious different sharp peak.A tissue culture experiment with different Cd treated levels and a field trial with natural polluted mined soil were conducted to study the effects of chromosome doubling on plant biomass and Cd accumulation in shoots.The results suggested that S.alfredii is a mixoploid.Compared with the wild type plants(WT),CSD exhibited typical'gigas'characteristics in morphology including stem thickness,root hair production,number of leaves and size of stoma guard cell.Fresh weight and dry weight of CSD were increased to 1.62–2.03-fold and 2.26–3.25-fold of WT.And Cd content of CSD showed a17.49%–42.82%increase and 59%increase under tissue culture and field condition,accordingly.In addition,the TF and in BCF of CSD were 2.37-and 1.59-fold of WT,respectively.These results proved that it is feasible to promote phytoextraction efficiency of S.alfredii in Cd contaminated soils through chromosomal engineering,which provides a novel approach for hyperaccumulator application in phytoremediation. | Ying Feng Qiong Wang Qian Meng Yongjun Liu Fengshan Pan Sha Luo Yingjie Wu Luyao Ma Xiaoe Yang | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12: | 4 |
| 3 | Engineering self-healing adhesive hydrogels with antioxidant properties for intrauterine adhesion prevention显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) is the fibrosis within the uterine cavity. It is the second most common cause of female infertility, significantly affecting women’s physical and mental health. Current treatment strategies fail to provide a satisfactory therapeutic outcome for IUA patients, leaving an enormous challenge for reproductive science. A self-healing adhesive hydrogel with antioxidant properties will be highly helpful in IUA prevention. In this work, we prepare a series of self-healing hydrogels (P10G15, P10G20, and P10G25) with antioxidant and adhesive properties. Those hydrogels exhibit good self-healing properties and can adapt themselves to different structures. They possess good injectability and fit the shape of the human uterus. Moreover, the hydrogels exhibit good tissue adhesiveness, which is desirable for stable retention and therapeutic efficacy. The in vitro experiments using P10G20 show that the adhesive effectively scavenges ABTS+, DPPH, and hydroxyl radicals, rescuing cells from oxidative stress. In addition, P10G20 offers good hemocompatibility and in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility. Furthermore, P10G20 lowers down the in vivo oxidative stress and prevents IUA with less fibrotic tissue and better endometrial regeneration in the animal model. It can effectively downregulate fibrosis-related transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). | 4 | Constructing a biomimetic robust bi-layered hydrophilic lubrication coating on surface of silicone elastomer显示文摘Silicone elastomers-based materials have been extensively involved in the field of biomedical devices,while their use is extremely restricted due to the poor surface lubricity and inherent hydrophobicity.This paper describes a novel strategy for generating a robust layered soft matter lubrication coating on the surface of the polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)silicone elastomer,by entangling thick polyzwitterionic polyelectrolyte brush of poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate)(PSBMA)into the sub-surface of the initiator-embedded stiff hydrogel coating layer of P(AAm-co-AA-co-HEMA-Br)/Fe,to achieve a unified low friction and high load-bearing properties.Meanwhile,the stiff hydrogel layer with controllable thickness is covalently anchored on the surface of PDMS by adding iron powder to provide catalytic sites through surface catalytically initiated radical polymerization(SCIRP)method and provides high load-bearing capacity,while the topmost brush/hydrogel composite layer is highly effective for aqueous lubrication.Their synergy effects are capable of attaining low friction coefficient(COFs)under wide range of loaded condition in water environment with steel ball as sliding pair.Furthermore,the influence of mechanical modulus of the stiff hydrogel layer on the lubrication performance of layered coating is investigated,for which the COF is the lowest only when the modulus of the stiff hydrogel layer well matches the PDMS substrate.Surprisingly,the COF of the modified PDMS could remain low friction(COF<0.05)stably after encountering 50,000 sliding cycles under 10 N load.Finally,the surface wear characterizations prove the robustness of the layered lubricating coating.This work provides a new route for engineering lubricious silicon elastomer with low friction,high load-bearing capacity,and considerable durability. | Luyao GAO Xiaoduo ZHAO Shuanhong MA Zhengfeng MA Meirong CAI Yong-Min LIANG Feng ZHOU | 2022 | Friction2022,10,7: | 2 |
| 5 | NSUN2-mediated mRNA m^(5)C Modification Regulates the Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘RNA modifications affect many biological processes and physiological diseases.The 5-methylcytosine(m^(5)C)modification regulates the progression of multiple tumors.However,its characteristics and functions in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remain largely unknown.Here,we found that HCC tissues had a higher m^(5)C methylation level than the adjacent normal tissues.Transcriptome analysis revealed that the hypermethylated genes mainly participated in the phosphokinase signaling pathways,such as the Ras and PI3K-Akt pathways.The m^(5)C methyltransferase NSUN2 was highly expressed in HCC tissues.Interestingly,the expression of many genes was positively correlated with the expression of NSUN2,including GRB2,RNF115,AATF,ADAM15,RTN3,and HDGF.Real-time PCR assays further revealed that the expression of the mRNAs of GRB2,RNF115,and AATF decreased significantly with the down-regulation of NSUN2 expression in HCC cells.Furthermore,NSUN2 could regulate the cellular sensitivity of HCC cells to sorafenib via modulating the Ras signaling pathway.Moreover,knocking down NSUN2 caused cell cycle arrest.Taken together,our study demonstrates the vital role of NSUN2 in the progression of HCC. | Dan Song Ke An Wenlong Zhai Luyao Feng Yingjie Xu Ran Sun Yueqin Wang Yun-Gui Yang Quancheng Kan Xin Tian | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,4: | 1 |
| 6 | Fibers reinforced composite hydrogels with improved lubrication and load-bearing capacity显示文摘Hydrogels as one kind of soft materials with a typical three-dimensional(3D)hydrophilic network have been getting great attention in the field of biolubrication.However,traditional hydrogels commonly show poor tribology performance under high-load conditions because of their poor mechanical strength and toughness.Herein,pure chemical-crosslinking hydrogels mixed with different types of the micron-scale fibers can meet the requirements of strength and toughness for biolubrication materials,meanwhile the corresponding tribology performance improves significantly.In a typical case,three kinds of reinforcement matrix including needle-punched fibers,alginate fibers,and cottons are separately combined with Poly(n-vinyl pyrrolidone)-poly 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(PVP-PHEMA)hydrogels to prepare fibers reinforced composite hydrogels.The experimental results show that the mechanical properties of fibers reinforced composite hydrogels improve greatly comparable with pure PVP-PHEMA hydrogels.Among three kinds of fibers reinforced composite hydrogel,the as-prepared composite hydrogels reinforced with needle-punched fibers possess the best strength,modulus,and anti-tearing properties.Friction tests indicate that the fibers reinforced composite hydrogels demonstrate stable water-lubrication performance comparable with pure PVP-PHEMA hydrogels.Besides,the hydrogel-spunlace fiber samples show the best load-bearing and anti-wear capacities.The improved tribology performance of the composite hydrogels is highly related to mechanical property and the interaction between the fibers and hydrogel network.Finally,spunlace fibers reinforced hydrogel materials with high load-bearing and low friction properties are expected to be used as novel biomimetic lubrication materials. | Jiawei LI Luyao GAO Rongnian XU Shuanhong MA Zhengfeng MA Yanhua LIU Yang WU Libang FENG Meirong CAI Feng ZHOU | 2022 | Friction2022,10,1: | 1 |
| 7 | Positive effects of applying endophytic bacteria in eggplant-Sedum intercropping system on Cd phytoremediation and vegetable production in cadmium polluted greenhouse显示文摘The combination of intercropping and phytoremediation in the remediation of cadmium contaminated soil is an emerging model in recent years,but the results of previous studies are inconsistent.In the field experiment,eggplant was intercropped with hyperaccumula-tor Sedum alfredii Hance(inoculated or not inoculated with endophytic bacteria)to study the effects of intercropping on vegetable safety production,phytoremediation efficiency of hyperaccumulator and variation of soil available nutrients.The results showed that the in-tercropping treatment had a negative effect on the growth of eggplant and Sedum,but en-dophyte SaMR12 alleviated the inhibition of intercropping on plant growth.Intercropping treatment increases the Cd concentration in edible part of eggplant to 1.34 mg/kg compared with eggplant monoculture(1.19 mg/kg).While the application of SaMR12 reduces the Cd concentration of eggplant fruit to 0.95 mg/kg and significantly promotes the Cd uptake by Sedum.What's more surprising is that compared with eggplant monocropping,the con-tent of soil available nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium in the treatment of intercropping with inoculated Sedum increased significantly.And according to the correlation analysis of various indexes of plants and soil,the Cd content of eggplant is negatively correlated with the available phosphorus and potassium in the soil,while the Cd content of Sedum is positively correlated with it,which suggested that the application of phosphorus and potas-sium fertilizers in this experimental site was beneficial to reduce Cd content in eggplant and improve Cd phytoextraction of Sedum.Therefore,in the daily production of moderately Cd-contaminated soil,intercropping eggplant with Sedum inoculated with endophytic bacteria is an excellent Phytoextraction Coupled with Agro-safe-production(PCA)pattern. | Luyao Ma Lukuan Huang Qizhen Liu Shunan Xu Zheyu Wen Shuai Qin Tingqiang Li Ying Feng | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5: | 1 |

This article provides a holistic review over the current progress and future prospects of metal halide perovskite materials in representative promising applications, including traditional optoelectronic devices(solar cells, light-emitting diodes, photodetectors, lasers), and cutting-edge technologies in terms of neuromorphic devices(artificial synapses and memristors) and pressure-induced emission. | 12 | Direct environmental TEM observation of silicon diffusion-induced strong metal-silica interaction for boosting CO_(2)hydrogenation显示文摘For the high-temperature catalytic reaction,revealing the interface of catalyst–support and its evolution under reactive conditions is of crucial importance for understanding the reaction mechanism.However,much less is known about the atomic-scale interface of the hard-to-reduce silica-metal compared to that of reducible oxide systems.Here we reported the general behaviors of SiO_(2)migration onto various metal(Pt,Co,Rh,Pd,Ru,and Ni)nanocrystals supported on silica.Typically,the Pt/SiO_(2)catalytic system,which boosted the CO_(2)hydrogenation to CO,exhibited the reduction of Si0 at the Pt-SiO2 interface under H2 and further Si diffusion into the near surface of Pt nanoparticles,which was unveiled by in-situ environmental transmission electron microscopy coupled with spectroscopies.This reconstructed interface with Si diffused into Pt increased the sinter resistance of catalyst and thus improved the catalytic stability.The morphology of metal nanoparticles with SiO_(2)overlayer were dynamically evolved under reducing,vacuum,and oxidizing atmospheres,with a thicker SiO_(2)layer under oxidizing condition.The theoretical calculations revealed the mechanism that the Si-Pt surface provided synergistic sites for the activation of CO_(2)/H_(2)to produce CO with lower energy barriers,consequently boosting the high-temperature reverse water-gas shift reaction.These findings deepen the understanding toward the interface structure of inert oxide supported catalysts. | Lei Wang Lei Zhang Luyao Zhang Yulong Yun Kun Wang Boyuan Yu Xin Zhao Feng Yang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 0 |
| 13 | Revealing the Circadian Rhythm of Taliang Crocodile Newt(Liangshantriton taliangensis) During Breeding Migration Using a Novel Monitoring Technique显示文摘Many animals migrate during the breeding season.It is important to study the patterns of breeding migration of wild animals,especially rare and endangered species.However,current data acquisition methods are too coarse and imprecise for investigating the circadian rhythms of migrations in amphibians.Based on the frustrated total reflection image(FTRI),we developed a new device and recorded the precise migration time of an endangered salamander,Liangshantriton taliangensis.During the breeding period,a total of 33 individuals were effectively recorded.Analysis of the data indicated that the circadian rhythm of breeding migration in L.taliangensis was bimodal,and migration mainly occurred from 05:00 to 13:00(81.82%of the total migration records).The average relative activity intensity index(RAI)of breeding migration peaked in the temperature range of 14.0–16.0°C.With increased average relative air humidity,the activity intensity first increased and then decreased,reaching a peak in the humidity range of 91.0%–97.0%.These results demonstrate that our new device is a viable and accurate method for recording the migration time of target species.It is important to reveal the breeding migration pattern of L.taliangensis,which is important for the conservation of this species.Meanwhile,this new device can be used for field monitoring and conservation studies of amphibians,reptiles and other animals. | Haoqi YU Yuanfei WANG Liuyang HE Yudong ZHU Xiuqin LIN Luyao XIAO Cheng LI Jianping JIANG Feng XIE | 2023 | Asian Herpetological Research2023,14,3: | 0 |
