1EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FLOWFIELD STRUCTURE AROUND AN OGIVE-CYLINDER显示文摘The flowfield structure and their aerodynamic characteristics over an ogive cylinder were studied by means of flow visualization and surface pressure measurement in a water tunnel and a wind tunnel. The existence of multi asymmetric vortices over long slender bodies was experimentally confirmed at large angles of attack and in the subcritical Reynolds number range. The spatial 3 D characteristics of the multi vortices system were analyzed and a physical model was developed. The topological structure of different patterns in cross flow plane was studied and the mechanism governing the formation of asymmetric vortices and multi vortices was discussed from the viewpoint of stability of the topological structure. 4A mussel-inspired supramolecular hydrogel with robust tissue anchor for rapid hemostasis of arterial and visceral bleedings显示文摘In recent years,the developed hemostatic technologies are still difficult to be applied to the hemostasis of massive arterial and visceral hemorrhage,owing to their weak hemostatic function,inferior wet tissue adhesion,and low mechanical properties.Herein,a mussel-inspired supramolecular interaction-cross-linked hydrogel with robust mechanical property(308.47±29.20 kPa)and excellent hemostatic efficiency(96.5%±2.1%)was constructed as a hemostatic sealant.Typically,we combined chitosan(CS)with silk fibroin(SF)by cross-linking them through tannic acid(TA)to maintain the structural stability of the hydrogel,especially for wet tissue adhesion ability(shear adhesive strength=29.66±0.36 kPa).Compared with other materials reported previously,the obtained CS/TA/SF hydrogel yielded a lower amount of blood loss and shorter time to hemostasis in various arterial and visceral bleeding models,which could be ascribed to the synergistic effect of wound closure under wet state as well as intrinsic hemostatic activity of CS.As a superior hemostatic sealant,the unique hydrogel proposed in this work can be exploited to offer significant advantages in the acute wound and massive hemorrhage with the restrictive access of therapeutic moieties.Ziwen Qiao Xueli Lv Shaohua He Shumeng Bai Xiaochen Liu Linxi Hou Jingjing He Dongmei Tong Renjie Ruan Jin Zhang Jianxun Ding Huanghao Yang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:14

6Seven-day triple therapy is a better choice for Helicobacter pylori eradication in regions with low antibiotic resistance显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether 7-d triple therapies are still valid in populations with low levels of resistance.METHODS: A total of 1106 Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori)-positive patients were divided into three groups,each of which received one type of 7-d triple therapy. Therapeutic outcomes of the patients were assessed by the 13C-urea breath test at 8 wk after treatment. The susceptibility of H. pylori to antibiotics was determined by an agar-dilution method. Data analysis was performed by χ2 tests.RESULTS: The eradication rates in groups A,B and C were 90.71%(332/366),90.46%(313/346) and 90.87%(189/208),respectively(P = 0.986). The resistance rates were 8.91% for clarithromycin,14.78% for levofloxacin and 0% for amoxicillin. The eradication rate was significantly different between clarithromycin-and levofloxacin-resistant patients(P < 0.05) in group A. Patients whose treatment failed in group A also had a higher clarithromycin resistance rate than did successive patients(P = 0.034). However,levofloxacin resistance had no obvious influence on the eradication rate. Furthermore,three main antibiotics(clarithromycin,levofloxacin and amoxicillin) had lower DID(defined daily dose per 1000 inhabitants per day) in this city.CONCLUSION: Clarithromycin resistance is the main reason for the failure of 7-d triple therapy. In populations with low levels of resistance,a 7-d triple therapy is a viable choice. 9Geochemical characteristics of noble gases in natural gas and their application in tracing natural gas migration in the middle part of the western Sichuan Depression, China显示文摘Noble gases in natural gas, from Xiaoquan, Xinchang, Hexingchang and Fenggu gas reservoirs in the middle part of the western Sichuan Depression, China, were analysed. Results show that the volume content of crustal noble gases accounts for 97.9% to 99.7% of the total noble gas content, indicating that the noble gases in the study area are very largely derived from the crust. Moreover, the 40Ar time-accumulating effect of source rocks is used to determine the complex relationship between gases and source rocks in this area, and the results agree well with that from analysis of source rock light hydrocarbons. Due to the short migration distance, the separation of 4He and 40Ar is not significant in Xujiahe natural gas and Lower and Middle Jurassic natural gas, so it is difficult to trace natural gas migration. However, this separation characteristic of 4He and 40Ar in Middle and Upper Jurassic natural gas is significant, which indicates that natural gas migration was from the Middle Jurassic to Upper Jurassic formations. 10Effect of groundwater depth on riparian plant diversity along riverside-desert gradients in the Tarim River显示文摘Aims Riparian plant diversity is sensitive to changes in groundwater in arid regions.However,little is known about how plant diversity responds to changes in environment along riverside-desert gradi-ents in riparian ecosystem.Our objectives were to(i)identify ri-parian plant diversity along riverside-desert gradients in Tarim desert riparian forests,(ii)analyze the impact of environment variables on plant diversity,(iii)determine the optimum groundwater depth for different plant life-forms.Methods Six transects 90 quadrats(with each size 100 m×100 m)distributed vertically to river bed along riverside-desert gradients~30 km in length were surveyed.At each quadrat,the morphological features of riparian plant communities were measured,and the groundwater depth,soil water,soil salinity,soil nutrient were also monitored at same sites.Important Finding Three distinct vegetation communities were identified based on cover and richness in the tree,shrub and herb layers:the riparian zone,the transitional zone and the desert margin zone.Twelve spe-cies were indicators of the three vegetation communities.Riparian plant diversity was influenced by groundwater depth,distance from river,soil moisture content,soil salinity and soil nutrient by redundancy analysis.In response to groundwater depth,the op-timal groundwater depths for species diversity,evenness and shrub cover were 2.8,2.7 and 3.7 m,respectively.Therefore,maintaining high plant diversity requires managers to ensure stable groundwater depth for different plant life-forms rather than for some of them.Yong Zeng Chengyi Zhao Jun Li Yan Li Guanghui Lv Tong Liu 2019Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,3:7
11Photocatalytic degradation of amoxicillin by carbon quantum dots modified K2Ti6O13 nanotubes:Effect of light wavelength显示文摘A novel carbon quantum dots modified potassium titanate nanotubes(CQDs/K2 Ti6 O13)composite photocatalyst was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment combined with calcination.X-ray diffraction(XRD)pattern and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)indicated formation of potassium titanate nanotubes and successful deposition of CQDs onto K2 Ti6 O13.The photocatalytic performance of CQDs/K2 Ti6 O13 composite was evaluated by degradation of amoxicillin(AMX)under the irradiation of visible light and lights with the wavelengths of 365,385,420,450,485,520,595 and 630 nm.The results showed that the photocatalytic activity of CQDs/K2 Ti6 O13 hybrid material was greatly enhanced compared with the neat K2 Ti6 O13 calcined at 300 ℃.The narrowed band gap energy(Eg)and transfer of photo-excited electron by CQDs inhibited the immediate combination of electron-hole pairs,thus promoting photocatalytic activity.Moreover,CQ,Ds/K2 Ti6 O13 exhibited a broad spectrum of photocatalytic ability and it was interesting that the photocatalytic activity decreased with the increase of the irradiation wavelength.Reactive oxygen species(ROS)quenching tests suggested the hole(h^+)and hydroxyl radical(^·OH)played the primary roles in photocatalytic degradation of AMX.Moreover,CQ.Ds/K2 Ti6 O13 showed good reusability for AMX photocatalytic degradation after five successive runs.This study proposed an available method for titanate nanomaterials modification,and the developed novel CQDs/K2 Ti6 O13hyb rid material is p ro mising fo r potential application on antibiotics removal fro m water and wastewater.Qiankun Chen Long Chen Juanjuan Qi Yingqian Tong Yitao Lv Chaokai Xu Jinren Ni Wen Liu 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,6:6
12Derivation of embryonic stem cells from Brown Norway rats blastocysts显示文摘Knockout Brown Norway (BN) rat could be a useful disease model for human disorders,however,a failure to derive embryonic stem (ES) cells disturbs the further development of the model.In this study,we reported a case of successful derivation of the BN rat ES cells with the derivation efficiency comparable to that of Sprague Dawley (SD) rats.The BN rat ES cells expressed the key transcription factors,and were able to form embryonic bodies (EBs) when being differentiated in vitro.After injecting the BN rat ES cells into the SD rat blastocysts,high-contribution chimeric rats were generated and could survive to their adulthood.Our success in generating pluripotent rat ES cells will benefit the generation of the knockout rats in the future.Xiaoyang Zhao Zhuo Lv Lei Liu Liu Wang Man Tong Qi Zhou 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,7:5
13Mucus production stimulated by IFN-AhR signaling triggers hypoxia of COVID-19显示文摘Silent hypoxia has emerged as a unique feature of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this study,we show that mucins are accumulated in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)of COVID-19 patients and are upregulated in the lungs of severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)-infected mice and macaques.We find that induction of either interferon(IFN)-P or IFN-y upon SARS-CoV-2 infection results in activation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR)signaling through an IDO-Kyn-dependent pathway,leading to transcriptional upregulation of the expression of mucins,both the secreted and membrane-bound,in alveolar epithelial cells.Consequently,accumulated alveolar mucus affects the blood-gas barrier,thus inducing hypoxia and diminishing lung capacity,which can be reversed by blocking AhR activity.These findings potentially explain the silent hypoxia formation in COVID-19 patients,and suggest a possible intervention strategy by targeting the AhR pathway.Yuying Liu Jiadi Lv Jiangning Liu Man Li Jing Xie Qi Lv Wei Deng Nannan Zhou Yabo Zhou Jiangping Song Peng Wang Chuan Qin Wei-Min Tong Bo Huang 2020Cell Research2020,30,12:5
14Using PyC modified 3D carbon fiber to reinforce UHTC under low temperature sintering without pressure显示文摘Finding the optimum balance between strength and toughness,as well as acquiring reliable thermal shock resistance and oxidation resistance,has always been the most concerned topic in the discussion of ultra-high temperature ceramic composites.Herein,PyC modified 3D carbon fiber is used to reinforce ultra-high temperature ceramic(UHTC).The macroscopic block composite with large size is successfully fabricated through low temperature sintering at 1300℃without pressure.The prepared PyC modified 3D C_(f)/ZrC-SiC composites simultaneously possess excellent physical and chemical stability under the synergistic effect of PyC interface layer and low temperature 1/2 sintering without pressure.The fracture toughness is increased in magnitude to 13.05±1.72 MPa·m^(1/2)accompanied by reliable flexural strength of 251±27 MPa.After rapid thermal shock spanning from room temperature(RT)to 1200℃,there are no visible surface penetrating cracks,spalling,or structural fragmentation.The maximum critical temperature difference reaches 875℃,which is nearly three times higher than that of traditional monolithic ceramics.The haunting puzzle of intrinsic brittleness and low damage tolerance are resolved fundamentally.Under the protection of PyC interface layer,the carbon fibers around oxide layer and matrix remain structure intact after static oxidation at 1500℃for 30 min.The oxide layer has reliable physical and chemical stability and resists the erosion from fierce oxidizing atmosphere,ensuring the excellent oxidation resistance of the composites.In a sense,the present work provides promising universality in designability and achievement of 3D carbon fiber reinforced ceramic composites.Baihe DU Yuan CHENG Liancai XUN Shuchang ZHANG Jing TONG Qingrong LV Shanbao ZHOU Ping HU Xinghong ZHANG 2021Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,4:3

16SARS-CoV-2 crosses the blood-brain barrier accompanied with basement membrane disruption without tight junctions alteration显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 has been reported to show a capacity for invading the brains of humans and model animals.However,it remains undear whether and how SARS-CoV-2 crosses the blood-brain barrier(BBB).Herein,SARS-CoV-2 RNA was occasionally detected in the vascular wall and perivascular space,as well as in brain microvascular endothelial cells(BMECs)in the infected K18-hACE2 transgenic mice.Moreover,the permeability of the infected vessel was in creased.Furthermore,disin tegrity of BBB was discovered in the infected hamsters by administration of Evans blue.Interestingly,the expression of claudin5,ZO-1,occludin and the ultrastructure of tight junctions(TJs)showed unchanged,whereas,the basement membrane was disrupted in the infected animals.Using an in vitro BBB model that comprises primary BMECs with astrocytes,SARS-CoV-2 was found to infect and cross through the BMECs.Consistent with in vivo experiments,the expression of MMP9 was increased and collagen IV was decreased while the markers for TJs were not altered in the SARS-CoV-2-infected BMECs.Besides,inflammatory responses including vasculitis,glial activation,and upregulated inflammatory factors occurred after SARS-CoV-2 infection.Overall,our results provide evidence supporting that SARS-CoV-2 can cross the BBB in a transcellular pathway accompanied with basement membrane disrupted without obvious alteration of TJs.Ling Zhang Li Zhou Linlin Bao Jiangning Liu Hua Zhu Qi Lv Ruixue Liu Wei Chen Wei Tong Qiang Wei Yanfeng Xu Wei Deng-Hong Gao Jing Xue Zhiqi Song Pin Yu Yunlin Han Yu Zhang Xiuping Sun Xuan Yu Chuan Qin 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10:2
17Spectral properties of Fermi/GBM gamma-ray bursts and the GeV emission detection rate with Fermi/LAT显示文摘With a sample of 58 Fermi/GBM GRBs detected before 2009 May,we compare the spectral properties of GBM GRBs with those detected by CGRO/BTASE and HETE-2.Our results show that the spectral index distributions are very consistent with those observed by BATSE.However,the Ep distribution is quite different from that observed with BATSE and HETE-2.The GBM GRBs tend to be softer than the BATSE sample,but harder than the HETE-2 sample.This may be due to the instrumental selection effects and artificial sample effect on the BATSE sample.The distribution of the pseudo redshifts derived from the luminosity indicator based on the Amati-relation shows rough consistency with the spectroscopic redshifts of Swift GRBs.We estimate the detection rate of GBM GRBs with LAT based on the observed spectrum in the GBM band,and the inferred burst ratio of LAT detection with over 5 photons to GBM detection is 6%,yielding a detection rate pf 12 GRBs/yr with over 5 photons in the 1-300 GeV band.This is roughly consistent with the results in the first half year of Fermi operation.The low detection rate compared with theoretical predictions is a key for revealing the radiation mechanisms and particle acceleration of the prompt gamma-rays.LV HouJun,LIANG EnWei & TONG XiaoFeng Department of Physics,Guangxi University,Nanning 530004,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,S1:2
18Gastric carcinoma with osteoclast-like giant cells:a case report and review of the literature显示文摘Gastric carcinoma with osteoclast-like giant cells(OGCs) is an extremely rare tumor. So far,only six cases have been reported in the literature. Here we report an additional case of this tumor in a Chinese 78-year-old man presented with abdominal pain,vomiting,and hematemesis. Physical examination and gastroscopy revealed a tumor in the gastric antrum. The biopsy and pathological findings indicated a gastric adenocarcinoma with OGCs,which were present in both the tumor and the metastatic lymph nodes. Further immunohistochemical staining indicated that OGCs were reactive with CD68,CD45,and vimentin protein,but not with pancytokeratin,carcinoembryonic antigen,or epithelial membrane antigen,suggesting the monocytic/histiocytic derivation of these OGCs. In situ hybridization for Epstein-Barr virus showed no nuclear positivity in either adenocarcinoma or OGCs. Postoperative follow-up showed that the patient had survived for at least 6 months without recurrence. 19Advanced lanthanide doped upconversion nanomaterials for lasing emission显示文摘Microlasers are narrow-band and coherent light from small cavities,which have been widely applied in biomedicine,optical interconnection,integration devices,etc.Lanthanide doped upconversion materials are potential gain media for microlasers from near infrared(NIR)to visible and UV regimes due to their multi ladder-like metastable energy levels and superior optical frequency conversion capability.The optical feedback from photon scattering of the porous upconversion nanoparticles clusters has been reported to produce upconversion random lasers.The light bouncing back and forth between two reflective surfaces or internal surface has been utilized to achieve modulated upconversion lasing emission.In addition,photon lattices and plasmonic cavities with enhanced electromagnetic fields can amplify the upconversion process within the sub-diffraction volumes and produce highly efficient upconverting lasers.In this review,the recent advances on using lanthanide doped upconversion materials for random,whispering gallery mode(WGM)/Fabry-Perot(FP)cavity and photon lattice/plasmonic cavity modulated upconversion microlasers are overviewed.Current challenges and future directions of the upconverting lasers are also discussed.Yunfei Shang Tong Chen Tianhui Ma Shuwei Hao Weiqiang Lv Dechang Jia Chunhui Yang 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,5:2
20M2 macrophages,but not Ml macrophages,support megakaryopoiesis by upregulating PI3K-AKT pathway activity显示文摘Dysfunctional megakaryopoiesis hampers platelet production,which is closely associated with thrombocytopenia(PT).Macrophages(MΦs)are crucial cellular components in the bone marrow(BM)microenvironment.However,the specific effects of M1 MΦs or M2 MΦs on regulating megakaryocytes(MKs)are largely unknown.In the current study,aberrant BM-M1/M2 MO polarization,characterized by increased M1 MΦs and decreased M2 MΦs and accompanied by impaired megakaryopoiesis-supporting abilities,was found in patients with PT post-allotransplant.RNA-seq and western blot analysis showed that the PI3K-AKT pathway was downregulated in the BM MΦs of PT patients.Moreover,in vitro treatment with PI3K-AKT activators restored the impaired megakaryopoiesis-supporting ability of MΦs from PT patients.Furthermore,we found M1 MΦs suppress,whereas M2 MCDs support MK maturation and platelet formation In humans.Chemical inhibition of PI3K-AKT pathway reduced megakaryopoiesis-supporting ability of M2 MΦs,as indicated by decreased MK count,colony-forming unit number,high-ploidy distribution,and platelet count.Importantly,genetic knockdown of the PI3K-AKT pathway impaired the megakaryopoiesis-supporting ability of MΦs both in vitro and in a MO-specific PI3K-knockdown murine model,indicating a critical role of PI3K-AKT pathway in regulating the megakaryopoiesis-supporting ability of M2 M(Ds.Furthermore,our preliminary data indicated that TGF-β released by M2 MΦs may facilitate megakaryopoiesis through upregulation of the JAK2/STAT5 and MAPK/ERK pathways in MKs.Taken together,our data reveal that M1 and M2 MΦs have opposing effects on MKs in a PI3K-AKT pathway-dependent manner,which may lead to new insights into the pathogenesis of thrombocytopenia and provide a potential therapeutic strategy to promote megakaryopoiesis.Hong-Yan Zhao Yuan-Yuan Zhang Tong Xing Shu-Qian Tang Qi Wen Zhong-Shi Lyu Meng Lv Yu Wang Lan-Ping Xu Xiao-Hui Zhang Yuan Kong Xiao-Jun Huang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,7:2
