1Building damage in Dujiangyan during Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘A field damage survey of 1,005 buildings damaged by the Wenchuan Earthquake in Dujiangyan City was carried out and the resulting data was analyzed using the statistical method. It is shown that buildings that were seismically designed achieved the desired seismic fortification target; they sustained less damage than the non-seismically designed buildings. Among the seismically designed buildings investigated, RC frame buildings performed the best in terms of seismic resistance. Masonry buildings with a ground story of RC frame structure were the second best, and masonry buildings performed the worst. Considering building height, multistory buildings sustained more severe damage than high-rise buildings and 2- and 3-story buildings. 2A Green Paradigm for Internet of Things: Ambient Backscatter Communications显示文摘Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted extensive interest from both academia and industries, and is recognized as an ultimate infrastructure to connect everything at anytime and anywhere. The implementation of IoT generally faces the challenges from energy constraint and implementation cost. In this paper, we will introduce a new green communication paradigm, the ambient backscatter (AmBC), that could utilize the environmental wireless signals for both powering a tiny-cost device and backscattering the information symbols. 3K-ras gene mutation in the diagnosis of ultrasound guided fine-needle biopsy of pancreatic masses显示文摘AIM: To investigate the utility of K-ras mutation analysis ofultrasound guided fine-needle aspirate biopsy of pancreaticmasses.METHODS: Sixty-six ultrasound guided fine-needle biopsieswere evaluated by cytology, histology and k-ras mutation.The mutation at codon 12 of the k-ras oncogene wasdetected by artificial restriction fragment lengthpolymorphisms using Bst NI approach.RESULTS: The presence of malignant cells was reported in40 of 54 pancreatic carcinomas and K-ras mutations weredetected in 45 of the 54 FNABs of pancreatic carcinomas. Thesensitivity of cytology and k-ras mutation were 74 % and 83%, respectively. The speciality of cytology and k-ras mutationwere both 100 %. The sensitivity and speciality of k-ras mutationcombined with cytology were 83 % and 100 %, respectively.CONCLUSION: High diagnostic accuracy with acceptablediscomfort of FNAB make it useful in diagnosis of pancreaticcarcinoma. Ultrasound guided fine-needle biopsy is a safeand feasible method for diagnosing pancreatic cancer.Pancreatic carcinoma has the highest K-ras mutation rateamong all solid tumors. The mutation rate of k-ras is about80-100 %. 4The significance of proto-oncogene HGF/SF receptor c-Met mRNA expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To explore the expression of c-Met mRNA in nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPC) and its relation with clinical biological behavior. Methods: In situ hybridisation was used to detect mRNA expression of c-Met in 15 cases of non-tumor nasopharyngeal (NP), 55 cases of NPC. Results: The positive rates of c-Met mRNA in NP and NPC cells were 13.3% (2/15) and 61.8% (34/55) respectively. The expression of c-Met mRNA was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis, local invasion (skull base erosion), and clinical stage. In cases with cervical lymph node metastasis, local invasion, and clinical stage III and IV (UICC), the positive rates of expression of c-Met mRNA were significantly higher than that in those without the conditions mentioned above (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). But it was not significantly correlated with age, gender, histo- logic grade, and cranial nerve palsy (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The abnormal expression of c-Met gene was well correlated with the biological behavior of metastasis and invasion. To detection the expression of c-Met mRNA could serve as an important index to estimate the prognosis of NPC. 5Rice From Mercury Contaminated Areas in Guizhou Province Induces c-jun Expression in Rat Brain显示文摘Objective Mercury (Hg), as one of the priority pollutants and also a hot topic of frontier environmental research in many countries, has been paid higher attention in the world since the middle of the last century. Guizhou Province (at N24°30′-29°13′, E103°1′-109°30′, 1 100 m above the sea level, with subtropical humid climate) in southwest China is an important mercury production center. It has been found that the mercury content in most media of aquatics, soil, atmosphere and in biomass of corns, plants and animals, is higher than the national standard.The present study aims to explore the influence of mercury pollution on the health of local citizens. Methods The effect of rice from two mercury polluted experimental plots of Guizhou Province on the expression of c-jun mRNA in rat brain and c-jun protein in cortex, hippocampus and ependyma was observed using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and immunocytochemical methods. Results The results showed that the mercury polluted rice induced expression of c-jun mRNA and its protein significantly. Selenium can reduce Hg uptake, an antagonism between selenium and mercury on the expression of c-jun mRNA and c-jun protein. Conclusion c-jun participates in the toxicity process of brain injury by mercury polluted rice, the expression of c- jun mRNA in brain, and c-jun protein in rat cortex and hippocampus can predict neurotoxicity of mercury polluted rice. People should be advised to be cautious in eating any kind of Hg-polluted foods. 6Effects of spectral sampling rate and range of CO_2 absorption bands on XCO_2 retrieval from TanSat hyperspectral spectrometer显示文摘The spectral sampling rate and range of CO2absorption bands are critical for the optimal design of hyperspectral instrument for CO2observation satellite.Undersampling of spectra in space-based spectrometer significantly contaminates signals measured in the CO21.61 lm-band.The CO2dry-air column(XCO2)error due to spectral undersampling can be up to*1 ppm,which is the target precision of the Chinese Carbon Satellite(TanSat)for a single sounding.Undersampling error depends on surface albedo,solar zenith angle,and scattering properties in the atmosphere.The spectral sampling rate is recommended to be greater than 2.0 pixels per full width at half maximum to avoid undersampling.Reduction of spectral resolution and the use of narrower spectral regions can improve spectral sampling with little changes in CO2retrieval sensitivity without losing much information.The full-band approach provides direct constraints on the wavelength-dependent surface albedo and particle scattering from the measurements.To keep a broader band,we recommend reduction of the spectral resolution by a factor of two.Yi Liu Zhaonan Cai Dongxu Yang Yuquan Zheng Minzheng Duan Daren L 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,14:5
7Algorithm for retrieving surface pressure from hyper-spectral measurements in oxygen A-band显示文摘An algorithm for retrieving the surface pressure from oxygen A-band measurements in the future Chinese CO2satellite(CarbonSpec/TanSat)was developed.The ful physical radiative transfer model,vector radiative transfe model based on successive order of scattering,which i based on the successive order of scattering approach,wa used to simulate the measurements of CarbonSpec/TanSat as well as the kernel matrix in the inversion algorithm,and then the surface pressure and other related atmospheric parameters such as aerosol optical depth(AOD),surface albedo,and temperature were derived through optima estimation theory.Sensitivities of the algorithm to surface albedo,solar zenith angle(SZA),viewing zenith angle(VZA),aerosol type,and AOD were investigated,and the results showed that the absolute error of retrieved surface pressure increases with decreasing surface albedo o increasing SZA and VZA.An accuracy of\4 hPa ove bright surfaces(surface albedo C0.15)could be derived fo various SZAs and viewing geometries.Moreover,the algorithm can simultaneously retrieve the surface albedo AOD,and its vertical distribution indicated by scaleHailei Liu Minzheng Duan Daren L Yan Zhang 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,14:4

11Prediction and Analysis of Post-Treatment of Sustainable Walnut Shell/Co-PES Parts by Laser Sintering显示文摘In order to enhance the strength of sustainable walnut shell/Co-PES(WSPC)sintered parts,wax-filtrated posttreatment was carried out.The effects of treating fluid temperature,preheating time and immersion time on the bending strength of WSPC wax-filtrated parts were analyzed by single factor analysis method.To obtain an accurate model for predicting the bending strength of the WSPC wax-filtrated part,the experiments were involved by using Box-Behnken design(BBD).Main parameters,such as treating fluid temperature,preheating time and immersion time,and their interactive effects were analyzed through analysis of variance(ANOVA)and graphical contours.The results demonstrated that all parameters’direct effects were significant to bending strength of the WSPC wax-filtrated part.Its optimum value was 5.0 MPa when the treating fluid temperature of 70°C,preheating time of 50 min,and immersion time of 20 s.The predicted models effectively validated had good predicting accuracy.The WSPC wax-filtrated part using optimal processing parameters was processed by investment casting,and then the metal casting of dimensional stability and smooth surface was obtained.Investment casting was done using WSPC wax-filtrated parts under optimal process parameters and then metal parts with stable structure size and smooth surface can be obtained,which indicates that WSPC material can be used for investment casting.Yueqiang Yu Suling Wang Minzheng Jiang Yanling Guo Ting Jiang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,2:1

14Bradykinin potentiates 5-HT_3 receptor-mediated current in rat trigeminal ganglion neurons显示文摘Aim: To explore the modulatory effect of bradykinin (BK) on 5-HT3 receptormediated current in trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons in rats. Methods: The wholecell patch-clamp technique was used to record 5-HT-activated currents (I5-HT) in neurons freshly dissociated from rat TG. Drugs were applied by rapid solution exchange. Results: The majority of the neurons examined responded to 5-HT applied externally with an inward current (76.3%, 74/97) that could be blocked by the 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, ICS-205,930 (1×10^-6mol/L). In 66 of the 74 cells sensitive to 5-HT (89.2%), pretreatment for 30s with BK (1×10^-6-1×10^-10mol/L) could potentiate I5-HT with the maximal modulatory effect occurring at 10^-7mol/L BK (71.6%±4.9%). BK shifted the 5-HT concentration-response curve upwards with an increase of 68.9%±7.2% in the maximal current response, but with no significant change in the EC50 value (19.1±3.2μmol/L vs 20.9±3.5μmol/L; t-test,P>0.05; n=8). BK potentiated I5-HT in a holding potential-independent manner and did not alter the reverse potential of I5-HT. This BK-induced potentiation of I5-HT was almost completely blocked by Hoe 140 (5×10^-7mol/L), a selective B2 BK receptor antagonist, and was removed after intracellular dialysis of GF-109203X (2μmol/L), a selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor, with the re-patch clamp.Conclusion: Pre-application of BK exerts an enhancing effect on I5-HT via a PKC-dependent pathway in rat TG neurons, which may explain the peripheral mechanism of pain and hyperalgesia caused by, for example, tissue damage and inflammation.Wang-pingHU Xue-meiLI Ji-liangWU MinZHENG Zhi-wangLI 2005Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2005,26,4:1

17Observed and simulated features of the CO_2 diurnal cycle in the boundary layer at Beijing and Hefei,China显示文摘The mechanism of the CO2diurnal cycle is a basis for investigating the carbon budget and its impacts on climate and environment change.Regional diurnal variations in CO2concentration based on observations and modeling have been studied widely.However,few studies have focused on the pattern of the CO2diurnal cycle in China.In this study,a three-dimensional global chemical transport model,Goddard Earth Observing System(GEOS)-Chem,was applied to simulate the CO2concentration and its variation over China from 2004 to 2012.Meanwhile,we also analyzed the CO2concentration as observed by two eddy covariance flux observation towers,one located in Beijing(39°580N,116°220E)and one in Hefei(31°550N,117°100E),using LI-COR 7500A infrared gas analyzers.Observations showed the amplitude of the CO2diurnal cycle at Hefei to be larger than at Beijing,due to stronger ecological activities.GEOS-Chem successfully captured the main aspects of the diurnal cycle of the CO2concentration in the boundary layer observed at both Beijing and Hefei.However,some discrepancies between the model and observations did exist;specifically,the model tended to underestimate the amplitude of the CO2diurnal cycle.The data also showed that traffic emissions significantly enhanced the CO2concentration in the boundary layer.Yinan Wang Daren L Qian Li Minzheng Duan Fei Hu Shunxing Hu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,14:1

19The activity and stability of PdCl_2/C-N catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination显示文摘Carbon supported PdCl_2 is highly active in catalyzing acetylene hydrochlorination reaction, but deactivates rather quickly. Upon nitrogen doping in the carbon structure, the stability of the PdCl_2 catalysts is significantly improved. Furthermore, the results show that 900 ℃ is a preferred doping temperature. The acetylene conversion keeps above 90% even after 1200 min time on stream whereas the one without nitrogen doping drops to below 10% after 450 min. 20Sensitivity and Distance Based Performance Analysis for Batteryless Tags with Transmit Beamforming and Ambient Backscattering显示文摘Ambient backscatter is a new green technology for Internet of Things(IoT)that utilizes surrounding wireless signals to enable batteryless devices to communicate with other devices.The battery-free devices first harvest energy from ambient wireless signals and then backscatter the signals for communications.Clearly,sensitivity and distance are two important parameters for system performance.However,most existing studies on ambient backscatter communication systems do not consider the impact of the sensitivity of the energy-harvesting nodes and the distances between these devices.In this paper,we first provide a literature review for ambient communication technology and then take sensitivity and distance as two key parameters and investigate the sensitivity and distance based performance for ambient backscatter communication systems.Specifically,we establish the mathematical model based on distances between transceivers and backscattering nodes,extract a parameter that can differentiate the direct path and the backscattering path,evaluate the effects of transmit beamforming,design an energy detector for the reader,and analyze the outage probability of energy harvesting at the tag and the bit error rate(BER)at the reader.Simulations are then provided to corroborate the proposed studies.Minzheng Jia Chaochao Yao Wei Liu Ruyi Ye Tutun Juhana Bo Ai 2022China Communications2022,19,2:0
