Herbal decoctosome is a novel form of medicine显示文摘Traditionally, herbal medicine is consumed by drinking decoctions produced by boiling herbs with water. The functional components of the decoction are heat stable. Small RNAs(sRNAs) were reported as a new class of functional components in decoctions. However, the mechanisms by which sRNAs survive heat treatment of the decoction and enter cells are unclear.Previous studies showed that plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles(ELNs), which we call botanosomes, could deliver therapeutic reagents in vivo. Here, we report that heat-stable decoctosomes(ELNs) from decoctions have more therapeutic effects than the decoctions in vitro and demonstrate therapeutic efficacy in vivo. Furthermore, sRNAs, such as HJT-sRNA-m7 and PGY-sRNA-6, in the decoctosome exhibit potent anti-fibrosis and anti-inflammatory effects, respectively. Decoctosome is comprised of lipids, chemical compounds, proteins, and s RNAs. A medical decoctosome mimic is called bencaosome. A single lipid sphinganine(d22:0) identified in the decoctosome was mixed and heated with the synthesized sRNAs to form the simplest bencaosome. This simple bencaosome structure was identified by critical micelle concentration(cmc) assay that sRNAs coassembled with sphinganine(d22:0) to form the lipid layers of vesicles. The heating process facilitates co-assembly of sRNAs and sphinganine(d22:0) until a steady state is reached. The artificially produced sphinganine-HJT-sRNA-m7 and sphinganinePGY-sRNA-6 bencaosomes could ameliorate bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis and poly(I:C)-induced lung inflammation, respectively, following oral administration in mice. Our study not only demonstrates that the herbal decoctosome may represent a combinatory remedy in precision medicine but also provides an effective oral delivery route for nucleic acid therapy. | Xiaoyun Li Zhu Liang Jianchao Du Zhiqing Wang Song Mei Zhiqing Li Yan Zhao DANDan Zhao Yiming Ma Jun Ye Jiantao Xu Yu Zhao Jiahui Chang Yuhao Qin Lanlan Yu Chenxuan Wang Chengyu Jiang | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,3: | 26

The levels, sources and reactivity of volatile organic compounds in a typical urban area of Northeast China显示文摘Air concentrations of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) were continually measured at a monitoring site in Shenyang from 20 August to 16 September 2017. The average concentrations of alkanes, alkenes, aromatics and carbonyls were 28.54, 6.30, 5.59 and9.78 ppbv, respectively. Seven sources were identified by the Positive Matrix Factorization model based on the measurement data of VOCs and CO. Vehicle exhaust contributed the most(36.15%) to the total propene-equivalent concentration of the measured VOCs,followed by combustion emission(16.92%), vegetation emission and secondary formation(14.33%), solvent usage(10.59%), petrochemical industry emission(9.89%), petrol evaporation(6.28%), and liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) usage(5.84%). Vehicle exhaust, solvent usage and combustion emission were found to be the top three VOC sources for O_3 formation potential, accounting for 34.52%, 16.55% and 11.94%, respectively. The diurnal variation of the total VOCs from each source could be well explained by their emission characteristics,e.g., the two peaks of VOC concentrations from LPG usage were in line with the cooking times for breakfast and lunch. Wind rose plots of the VOCs from each source could reveal the possible distribution of the sources around the monitoring site. The O_3 pollution episodes during the measurement period were found to be coincident with the elevation of VOCs, which was mainly due to the air parcel from the southeast direction where petrochemical industry emission was found to be dominant, suggesting that the petrochemical industry emission from the southeast was probably a significant cause of O_3 pollution in Shenyang. | Zhuobiao Ma Chengtang Liu Chenglong Zhang Pengfei Liu Can Ye Chaoyang Xue Di Zhao Jichen Sun Yiming Du Fahe Chai Yujing Mu | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,5: | 12
MdATG18a overexpression improves basal thermotolerance in transgenic apple by decreasing damage to chloroplasts显示文摘High temperature is an abiotic stress factor that threatens plant growth and development.Autophagy in response to heat stress involves the selective removal of heat-induced protein complexes.Previously,we showed that a crucial autophagy protein from apple,MdATG18a,has a positive effect on drought tolerance. In the present study,we treated transgenic apple(Malus domestica)plants overexpressing MdATG18a with high temperature and found that autophagy protected them from heat stress.Overexpression of MdATG18a in apple enhanced antioxidase activity and contributed to the production of increased beneficial antioxidants under heat stress.Transgenic apple plants exhibited higher photosynthetic capacity,as shown by the rate of CO_(2) assimilation, the maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II(PSII),the effective quantum yield, and the electron transport rates in photosystems I and II(PSI and PSII,respectively). We also detected elevated autophagic activity and reduced damage to chloroplasts in transgenic plants compared to WT plants. In addition, the transcriptional activities of several HSP genes were increased in transgenic apple plants. In summary,we propose that autophagy plays a critical role in basal thermotolerance in apple, primarily through a combination of enhanced antioxidant activity and reduced chloroplast damage. | Liuqing Huo Xun Sun Zijian Guo Xin Jia Runmin Che Yiming Sun Yanfei Zhu Ping Wang Xiaoqing Gong Fengwang Ma | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 9
Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes, downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. Finally, Kindlin-2 loss increases osteocyte apoptosis and impairs osteocyte spreading and dendrite formation. Thus, we demonstrate an important role of Kindlin-2 in the regulation of bone homeostasis and provide a potential target for the treatment of metabolic bone diseases. | Huiling Cao Qinnan Yan Dong Wang Yumei Lai Bo Zhou Qi Zhang Wenfei Jin Simin Lin Yiming Lei Liting Ma Yuxi Guo Yishu Wang Yilin Wang Xiaochun Bai Chuanju Liu Jian QFeng Chuanyue Wu Di Chen Xu Cao Guozhi Xiao | 2020 | Bone Research2020,8,1: | 8
Zircon SHRIMP U–Pb age of Late Jurassic OIB-type volcanic rocks from the Tethyan Himalaya: constraints on the initial activity time of the Kerguelen mantle plume显示文摘This work presents zircon U–Pb age and wholerock geochemical data for the volcanic rocks from the Lakang Formation in the southeastern Tethyan Himalaya and represents the initial activity of the Kerguelen mantle plume. SHRIMP U–Pb dating of zircons from the volcanic rocks yielded a ^(206) Pb/^(238) U age of 147 ± 2 Ma that reflects the time of Late Jurassic magmatism. Whole rock analyses of major and trace elements show that the volcanic rocks are characterized by high content of Ti O_2(2.62 wt%–4.25 wt%) and P_2O_5(0.38 wt%–0.68 wt%), highly fractionated in LREE/HREE [(La/Yb)N= 5.35–8.31] with no obvious anomaly of Eu, and HFSE enrichment with no obvious anomaly of Nb and Ta, which are similar to those of ocean island basalts and tholeiitic basaltic andesites indicating a mantle plume origin. The Kerguelen mantle plume produced a massive amount of magmatic rocks from Early Cretaceous to the present, which widely dispersed from their original localities of emplacement due to the changing motions of the Antarctic, Australian, and Indian plates. However, our new geochronological and geochemical results indicate that the Kerguelen mantle plume started from the Late Jurassic. Furthermore, we suggest that the Kerguelen mantle plume may played a significant role in the breakup of eastern Gondwanaland according to the available geochronological, geochemical and paleomagnetic data. | Yuruo Shi Chenyang Hou J. | 7 | Scalable microfabrication of three-dimensional porous interconnected graphene scaffolds with carbon spheres for high-performance all carbon-based micro-supercapacitors显示文摘As one of the most important micro energy storage devices(MESDs),graphene-based micro-supercapacitors(G-MSCs)possess the advantages of excellent flexibility, long cycle life, affordability and high reliability. In most cases, constructing three-dimensional(3D)graphene networks is widely utilized to promote the permeation of electrolyte and enhance the utilization of active materials. In this work, conventional freeze-drying process is utilized in the fabrication of G-MSCs to constitute 3D interconnected networks micro-electrodes,and further by regulating the composition of inks, carbon spheres(CSs)at different mass loadings are introduced into the graphene scaffolds to further increase the active sites of the micro-electrodes.The fabricated all carbon-based MSC with the optimal mass loading of CSs(0.406 mg cm^(-2))exhibits a high specific areal capacitance of 17.01mF cm^(-2)at the scan rate of 10mV s^(-1)and a capacitance retention of 93.14%after 10000 cycles at the scan rate of 500 mV s^(-1).The proposed microfabrication process is facile and fully compatible with modern microtechnologies and will be highly suitable for large-scale production and integration. | Yiming Chen Minghao Guo Liang He Wei Yang Lin Xu Jiashen Meng Xiaocong Tian Xinyu Ma Qiang Yu Kaichun Yang Xufeng Hong Liqiang Mai | 2019 | Journal of Materiomics2019,5,2: | 6
Cartilage-targeting peptide-modified dual-drug delivery nanoplatform with NIR laser response for osteoarthritis therapy显示文摘Cartilage-targeting delivery of therapeutic agents is still an effective strategy for osteoarthritis(OA)therapy.Recently, scavenging for reactive oxygen species(ROS)and activating autophagy have been increasingly reported to treat OA effectively. In this study,we designed, for the first time,a dual-drug delivery system based on metal organic framework(MOF)-decorated mesoporous polydopamine(MPDA)which composed of rapamycin(Rap)loaded into the mesopores and bilirubin(Br)loaded onto the shell of MOF.The collagen II-targeting peptide(WYRGRL)was then conjugated on the surface of above nanocarrier to develop a cartilage-targeting dual-drug delivery nanoplatform(RB@MPMW).Our results indicated the sequential release of two agents from RB@MPMW could be achieved via near-infrared(NIR)laser irritation.Briefly, the rapid release of Br from the MOF shell exhibited excellent ROS scavenging ability and anti-apoptosis effects, however responsively reduced autophagy activity,to a certain extent.Meanwhile, following the NIR irradiation,Rap was rapidly released from MPDA core and further enhanced autophagy activation and chondrocyte protection.RB@MPMW continuously phosphorylated AMPK and further rescued mitochondrial energy metabolism of chondrocytes following IL-1βstimulation via activating SIRT1-PGC-1αsignaling pathway.Additionally, the cartilage-targeting property of peptide-modified nanocarrier could be monitored via Magnetic Resonance(MR)and IVIS imaging.More significantly,RB@MPMW effectively delayed cartilage degeneration in ACLT rat model.Overall, our findings indicated that the as-prepared dual-drug delivery nanoplatform exerted potent anti-inflammation and anti-apoptotic effects, rescued energy metabolism of chondrocytes in vitro and prevented cartilage degeneration in vivo, which thereby showed positive performance for OA therapy. | Song Xue Xiaojun Zhou Weilin Sang Cong Wang Haiming Lu Yiming Xu Yiming Zhong Libo Zhu Chuanglong He Jinzhong Ma | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 5
Evolution Toward Artificial Intelligence of Things Under 6G Ubiquitous⁃X显示文摘With the evolution of cellular networks,6G is a promising technology to provide ubiquity of communications, computing, control, and consciousness(UC4)for“human⁃machine⁃thing⁃genie”and build a ubiquitous intelligent mobile society.Genie, which can act as the artificial intelligence assistance for 6G users,is the key enabler to realize the unprecedented transformation from mobile Internet to network of intelligence. While Internet of Things(IoT)is the digital nervous system, genie acts like the brain of the overall system.Supported by 6G,IoT will step into the Artificial Intelligence of Things(AIoT)era and the AIoT networks have the abilities of intelligent perception, intelligent analysis, and intelligent control. In this paper, the concept of Ubiquitous⁃X is introduced, which is considered as the fundamental architecture of 6G network, and the definition and architecture of AIoT under Ubiquitous⁃X is also presented.Several major technical challenges posed by the service requirements of novel AIoT applications are pinpointed, including massive and intelligent connectivity, efficient computing, security, privacy, authentication, high scalability and efficiency.Potential enabling technologies to support seamless service experiences across terminals to realize AIoT are introduced as well. | Ping Zhang Xiaodong Xu Xiaoqi Qin Yiming Liu Nan Ma Shujun Han | 2020 | Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2020,27,3: | 4
Photoinduced large polaron transport and dynamics in organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskite with terahertz probes显示文摘Organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites(MHPs)have attracted tremendous attention for optoelectronic applications. The long photocarrier lifetime and moderate carrier mobility have been proposed as results of the large polaron formation in MHPs.However,it is challenging to measure the effective mass and carrier scattering parameters of the photogenerated large polarons in the ultrafast carrier recombination dynamics. Here,we show,in a one-step spectroscopic method, that the optical-pump and terahertz-electromagnetic probe(OPTP)technique allows us to access the nature of interplay of photoexcited unbound charge carriers and optical phonons in polycrystalline CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)(MAPbI_(3))of about 10μm grain size.Firstly,we demonstrate a direct spectral evidence of the large polarons in polycrystalline MAPbI_(3).Using the Drude-Smith-Lorentz model along with the Frӧhlich-type electron-phonon(e-ph)coupling,we determine the effective mass and scattering parameters of photogenerated polaronic carriers. We discover that the resulting moderate polaronic carrier mobility is mainly influenced by the enhanced carrier scattering, rather than the polaron mass enhancement. While, the formation of large polarons in MAPbI_(3)polycrystalline grains results in a long charge carrier lifetime at room temperature. Our results provide crucial information about the photo-physics of MAPbI3 and are indispensable for optoelectronic device development with better performance. | Zuanming Jin Yan Peng Yuqing Fang Zhijiang Ye Zhiyuan Fan Zhilin Liu Xichang Bao Heng Gao Wei Ren Jing Wu Guohong Ma Qianli Chen Chao Zhang Alexey VBalakin Alexander PShkurinov Yiming Zhu Songlin Zhuang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8: | 4
A comparison between acute large vessel occlusion in the posterior circulation and anterior circulation after endovascular treatment:the ANGEL-ACT registry experience显示文摘Background and purpose Endovascular treatment(EVT)has shown an overwhelming benefit for acute anterior circulation artery occlusion(ACO).Whether it can achieve the same outcomes in posterior circulation artery occlusion(PCO)has not been well explained. We aimed to evaluate the characteristics and prognosis of ACO and PCO after EVT in a nationwide registry.Method The present analysis was based on the prospective ANGEL-ACT Registry in China between November 2017 and March 2019.Demographic data, periprocedural times, recanalisation rate, intracranial haemorrhage(ICH)and 90-day functional outcomes were compared between the ACO and PCO groups. Results A total of 1793 patients were analysed including 397(22.1%)consecutive patients with PCO and 1396(77.9%)patients with ACO treated with EVT.A larger proportion of patients with PCO had intracranial atherosclerotic disease and received extra angioplasty during EVT.Successful recanalisation and 90-day favourable functional outcomes did not differ significantly between the two groups.Patients with PCO showed lower 24-hour ICH and symptomatic ICH rates. There was a trend towards higher mortality rate in the PCO group(22.09%vs 14.44%;adjusted OR 1.286(95%CI 0.820 to 2.017),p=0.2731),especially when the onset to puncture time was over 6 hours(30.77%vs 11.13%;adjusted OR 2.673(95%CI 1.280 to 5.583),p=0.0089,interactive p=0.0002).Conclusions In this large prospective multicentre registry, there was a significant difference in the characteristics and periprocedural features between patients with PCO and ACO.However, successful recanalisation and 90-day favourable functional outcomes in PCO were equivalent to those in ACO. | Xuan Sun Jingyu Zhang Xu Tong Baixue Jia Dapeng Mo Ning Ma Feng Gao Lian Liu Xiaochuan Huo Ligang Song Yiming Deng Zhongrong Miao | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4: | 4

Circ-Smad5 retards the G1/S transition of cell cycle via inhibiting the activity of wnt/lef/cyclind1 signaling in JB6 cells显示文摘Circular RNAs are a large class of noncoding RNAs.Smad5 functions in cell differentiation, cell proliferation and metastasis. It has been reported that lnc-Smad5 can inhibit the proliferation of diffuse large B cell lymphoma. However, the function of circ-Smad5 has not yet been reported.Lentivirus vectors were constructed to establish circ-Smad5 upregulated and circ-Smad5 downregulated cell models.A CCK-8 assay was used to detect the proliferation of JB6 cells.FACS was used to analyze the cell cycle in the cell models.Western blot, immunofluorescence staining and TOP/FOP flash dual luciferase activity assays were used to determine the activity of the Wnt signaling pathway. The results revealed that the expression level of circ-Smad5 in JB6 cells was significantly lower than the expression level of linearizedSmad5.Compared with the control group, the percentage of S phase cells and the expression level of cyclin D1 protein were significantly higher in the sh-circ-Smad5 group. In the sh-circSmad5 group,b-catenin and LEF-1 were significantly increased,p-b-catenin was significantly decreased, and the relative activity of the TOP/FOP reporter gene was higher compared to the control group levels. These phenomena could be reversed by treating with Wnt signaling inhibitor PNU-74654.We conclude that the circ-Smad5 retards the proliferation and the cell cycle progression of JB6 cells.Thus,circ-Smad5 may function by inhibiting the activation of Wnt/b-catenin/Lef 1 signaling, which inhibits the expression of cyclin D1.To the best of our knowledge,we are the first to report the function of circ-Smad5. | Xiaogen Ma Fei Xiang Zhuo Pei Jiafeng Miao Pan Wu Xiaofeng Song Yuhong Li Yiming Zhang | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021,8,3: | 3

A distinct D1-MSN subpopulation down-regulates dopamine to promote negative emotional state显示文摘Dopamine(DA)level in the nucleus accumbens(NAc)is critical for reward and aversion encoding.DA released from the ventral mesencephalon(VM)DAergic neurons increases the excitability of VM-projecting D1-dopamine receptor-expressing medium spiny neurons(D1-MSNs)in the NAc to enhance DA release and augment rewards. However, how such a DA positive feedback loop is regulated to maintain DA homeostasis and reward-aversion balance remains elusive. Here we report that the ventral pallidum(VP)projection of NAc D1-MSNs(D1^(NAc-VP))is inhibited by rewarding stimuli and activated by aversive stimuli. In contrast to the VM projection of D1-MSN(D1^(NAc-VM)),activation of D1^(NAc-VP) projection induces aversion, but not reward.D1^(NAc-VP) MSNs are distinct from the D1^(NAc-VM) MSNs,which exhibit conventional functions of D1-MSNs.Activation of D1^(NAc-VP) projection stimulates VM GABAergic transmission, inhibits VM DAergic neurons, and reduces DA release into the NAc.Thus,D1^(NAc-VP) and D1^(NAc-VM) MSNs cooperatively control NAc dopamine balance and reward-aversion states. | Zhiyuan Liu Qiumin Le Yanbo Lv Xi Chen Jian Cui Yiming Zhou Deqin Cheng Chaonan Ma Xiujuan Su Lei Xiao Ruyi Yang Jiayi Zhang Lan Ma Xing Liu | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,2: | 2
A systematic review of highland barley:Ingredients, health functions and applications显示文摘Due to its high nutritional and dietotherapy values, highland barley has attracted the attention and favor of people all over the world in recent years. It has been demonstrated that the nutritional components of highland barley are comprehensive and unique, with the characteristics of high protein, high fiber, high vitamin, lowfat, low sugar and variety of bioactive components. As the most important component in highland barley, highland barley starch not only has low digestibility, but also has good freeze-thaw stability, high solubility, good emulsion stability and superior film forming performance, which makes it have great application value in food, medicine and industrial production. The content of highland barley protein, which is rich in 18 kinds of amino acids,is higher than that of most grains, and its derivatives play an important role in medical treatment.Unfortunately, highland barley protein cannot form gluten network structure, which limits the application in daily staple food to a certain extent.Highland barley also contains a large amount of dietary fiber,especiallyβ-glucan.Long-term consumption could significantly reduce the incidence of chronic diseases and metabolic syndromes such as heart disease and diabetes. However, the research on the application of highland barley is still in the laboratory stage, which failed to achieve large-scale application in the actual production. The value of highland barley has not been brought into full play, which leads to the waste of its resources and the reduction of its added value. This paper reviewed themacronutrients, health functions and applications of highland barley, aiming to provide some reference for the development of highland barley in food and health industry. | Yiming Lyu Sen Ma Jingke Liu Xiaoxi Wang | 2022 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2022,5,1: | 2
Effect of Different Combined Treatments on Tomato Seedling Growth in High-temperature Season显示文摘The study on raising of strong tomato seedlings in high-temperature season is of great practical significance, because high-temperature condition in summer and autumn causes excessive growth of tomato seedlings easily. ‘Fenniya'variety was selected as an experimental material,an orthogonal experiment was designed with rhizospheric temperature( A),light intensity( B) and nutrient salt concentration( C) as three factors which were designed with three levels,so as to study the effects of different treatments on root activity, strong seedling index, hypocotyl length and average internode length. The results showed that the most important factor for tomato seedling's root activity, hypocotyl length and internode length was nutrient salt concentration. In terms of effect on seedling index, substrate temperature should be reduced properly,to avoid excessive shading. It was primarily determined that the effects of three factors on the raising of strong tomato seedlings ranked as factor C,factor B and factor A from high to low; and the screened optimal seedling raising conditions were the rhizospheric temperature at( 3 + 1)℃,the shading rate of( 50 + 5) % and the EC value of( 5. 0 + 0. 5) mS/cm. | Caixia MA Ke LIU Yiming ZHANG Jiqing WANG | 2018 | Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,3: | 2
