1Comparative Analysis of Nutrient Composition of Caulerpa lentillifera from Different Regions显示文摘This study investigated the difference of nutrient composition in Caulerpa lentillifera collected from different regions.The nutrient compositions of C.lentillifera from China's Hainan and Shandong provinces were determined and compared with those from Semporna(Malaysia),Sabah(Malaysia),Petchburi(Thailand),and two other species of seaweeds(Malaysia).The results showed that the polysaccharide and protein contents of C.lentillifera from Hainan(44.82%±0.98%and 12.5%±0.70%),Shandong(43.22%±1.42%and 14.7%±0.72%),Petchburi(59.27%±2.31%and 12.49%±0.30%),and Sabah(44.02%±2.01%and 19.38%±1.48%)were higher than those of Eucheuma cottonii(26.49%±3.01%and 9.76%±1.33%)and Sargassum polycystum(33.49%±1.70%and 5.40%±0.07%),respectively.The polyunsaturated fatty acid contents in C.lentillifera from Hainan(29.98%)and Shandong(22.11%)were higher than that in Semporna(16.76%±0.27%),Sabah(9.49%),and S.polycystum(20.34%±0.43%),but lower than that in E.cottonii(51.55%±0.57%).In Caulerpa lentillifera of Hainan and Shandong provinces,the essential amino acid(EAA)/total amino acid(TAA)ratios were 35.22%and 38.78%,respectively;and the EAA/ETAA ratios were 54.36%and 63.35%,respectively.The EAA composition of C.lentillifera was close to the ideal model of Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization.C.lentillifera was rich in mineral elements,including calcium((3315.85±127.55)mg(100 g)^-1 and(3728.35±92.38)mg(100 g)^-1),magnesium((6715.74±82.58)mg(100 g)^-1 and(8128.59±242.72)mg(100 g)^-1),and trace elements,including iron((510.65±5.47)mg(100 g)^-1 and(1972.97±183.35)mg(100 g)^-1),selenium((1.04±0.08)mg(100 g)^-1 and(0.83±0.15)mg(100 g)^-1),and zinc((33.90±0.13)mg(100 g)^-1 and(11.75±2.05)mg(100 g)^-1).These results showed that C.lentillifera was more nutritious than S.polycystum or E.cottonii in terms of polysaccharide,protein,and fatty acid contents.Furthermore,both C.lentillifera species collected from Hainan and Shandong provinces show more basic nutrients.Therefore,C.lentillifera has important development and application prospects.ZHANG Meijian MA Yurong CHE Xinyi HUANG Zumei CHEN Peng XIA Guanghua ZHAO Meihui 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,2:8
2Mechanical Properties of C_f/Mg Composites Fabricated by Pressure Infiltration Method显示文摘The carbon fibers and the woven reinforced magnesium matrix composites were fabricated by pressure infiltration method.Effects of fiber species,fiber arrangement,hybrid particles and environment temperature on microstructures and properties of the composite were studied.Results showed that the mechanical properties at ambient temperature were affected by interfacial reaction.The magnesium matrix composites reinforced with graphite fibers showed higher strength and elastic modulus due to less interfacial reaction.During loading,the fibers were pulled out and the load was transferred through the interfaces,then the fiber bundles were fractured,finally the whole specimen failed.The introduction of hybrid SiC particles during fabrication can improve the mechanical properties of the magnesium matrix composites.Moreover,taking orthogonal carbon fiber woven as reinforcement can modify the anisotropy and reliability of materials.Meihui Songt Gaohui Wu Wenshu Yang Wei Jia Ziyang Xiu Guoqin Chen 2010Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,10:6
3Flexible, transparent nanocellulose paper-based perovskite solar cells显示文摘Recently perovskite solar cells(PSCs),as photoelectric conversion devices,exhibit excellent power conversion efficiency(PCE)and low-processing cost,and have become one of the most promising devices to replace conventional silicon-based solar cells and address current pressing energy issues.Among them,the flexible PSCs are especially more widely applicable and may propel the rapid advancements of wearable electronics,causing a significant paradigm shift in consumer electronics.Current flexible PSCs use non-biodegradable petroleum-based polymer substrates,discarding of which will aggravate“white pollution”.Therefore,development of green,biodegradable and low-cost flexible substrates will provide a great alternative to flexible PSCs.Here we have developed transparent nanocellulose paper(NCP)with coating of acrylic resin as substrates to fabricate flexible PSCs,which are biodegradable and easily disposable.The PCE of these NCP-based PSCs reached 4.25%,while the power per weight(the ratio of power to device weight)was as high as 0.56 W g^(–1).The flexible PSCs also showed good stability,retaining>80%of original efficiency after 50 times of bending.The NCP-based substrates can also be applied to other electronic systems,which may prosper next-generation green flexible electronics.Lei Gao Lingfeng Chao Meihui Hou Jin Liang Yonghua Chen Hai-Dong Yu Wei Huang 2019npj Flexible Electronics2019,3,1:5
4Meta analysis of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation promoting functional recovery of motor nerves in rats with complete spinal cord transection显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation on functional recovery of rats with complete spinal cord transection.DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search of Medline(1989–2013),Embase(1989–2013),Cochrane library(1989–2013),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(1989–2013),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(1989–2013),VIP(1989–2013),Wanfang databases(1989–2013) and Chinese Clinical Trial Register was conducted to collect randomized controlled trial data regarding olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation for the treatment of complete spinal cord transection in rats.SELECTION CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials investigating olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation and other transplantation methods for promoting neurological functional recovery of rats with complete spinal cord transection were included in the analysis.Meta analysis was conducted using Rev Man 4.2.2 software.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan scores of rats with complete spinal cord transection were evaluated in this study.RESULTS: Six randomized controlled trials with high quality methodology were included.Meta analysis showed that Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan scores were significantly higher in the olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation group compared with the control group(WMD = 3.16,95% CI(1.68,4.65); P < 0.00001).CONCLUSION: Experimental studies have shown that olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation can promote the functional recovery of motor nerves in rats with complete spinal cord transection.Jun Liu Ping Chen Qi Wang Yu Chen Hailong Yu Junxiong Ma Mingming Guo Meihui Piao Weijian Ren Liangbi Xiang 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,20:4
5Robust model predictive control for greenhouse temperature based on particle swarm optimization显示文摘Application of model predictive control(MPC)in horticultural practice requires detailed models.However,even highly sophisticated greenhouse climate models are often known to have unknown dynamics affected by bounded uncertainties.To enforce robustness during the controller design stage,this paper proposes a particle swarm optimization(PSO)-based robust MPC strategy for greenhouse temperature systems.The strategy is based on a nonlinear physical temperature affine model.The robust MPC technique requires online solution of a minimax optimal control problem,which optimizes the tradeoff between set point tracking and cost requirements reduction.The minimax optimization problem is reformulated to a nonlinear programming problem with constraints.PSO is used to solve the reformulated problem and priority ranking of constraint fitness is proposed to guarantee that the constraints are satisfied.The results of simulations performed using the proposed control system show that the controller can effectively achieve the set point in the presence of disturbances and that it offers more suitable control variables,higher control precision,and stronger robustness than the conventional MPC.Lijun Chen Shangfeng Du Yaofeng He Meihui Liang Dan Xu 2018Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,3:4
6A new discrete Fourier transform randomness test显示文摘The randomness of random number generators(RNGs) is important for the reliability of cryptographic systems since the outputs of RNGs are usually utilized to construct cryptographic parameters.Statistical tests are employed to evaluate the randomness of the RNG outputs. The discrete Fourier transform(DFT) test is an important test item of the most popular statistical test suite NIST SP800-22. In the standard NIST DFT test and related improved studies, there exist accuracy and efficiency issues. First, the bit sequences generated by known good RNGs have a high probability to be rejected when the sequences are long or the sequence number is large, due to the deviation between the actual distribution of the test statistic values and the assumed normal distribution. Second, the long test time and high memory consumptions of the complex DFT test algorithm also affect its practicability. To solve these problems, we propose a new DFT test method for long sequences(106 or more bits). Different from the previous DFT test methods focusing on making the distribution of the test statistic values closer to the normal distribution, we reconstruct the statistic to follow the chi-square distribution. Our experiment result shows that our method has higher reliability in the two-level test, and could effectively reduce the test time and the memory consumptions.When applying our method on randomness test, the test efficiency has been increased to about 4 times for 106-bit sequences and 7 times for 107-bit sequences. 9Sequence-Oriented Stochastic Model of RO-TRNGs for Entropy Evaluation显示文摘Ring oscillator-based true random number generators(RO-TRNGs) are widely used to generate unpredictable random numbers for cryptographic systems.Entropy is usually adopted to quantitatively measure the unpredictability of a TRNG. There have been several stochastic models such as the time-oriented and phaseoriented ones built to evaluate the entropy of ElementaryRO-TRNGs with single oscillator. However, these models are not suitable for the TRNGs composed of multiple oscillators(Multiple-RO-TRNGs), which can obtain more randomness and higher throughput. Considering this,we propose a sequence-oriented stochastic model for the entropy evaluation of RO-TRNGs, named the first-order stationary Markov source model. This model is extensible for the Multiple-RO-TRNGs. Based on that, we present a detailed method to determine the entropy of Multiple-ROTRNGs. 17P-aminobenzoic acid promotes retinal regeneration through activation of Ascl1a in zebrafish显示文摘The retina of zebrafish can regenerate completely after injury.M ultiple studies have demonstrated that metabolic alte rations occur during retinal damage;however to date no study has identified a link between metabolites and retinal regeneration of zebrafish.Here,we performed an unbiased metabolome sequencing in the N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-damaged retinas of zebrafish to demonstrate the metabolomic mechanism of retinal regeneration.Among the differentially-ex pressed metabolites,we found a significant decrease in p-aminobenzoic acid in the N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-damaged retinas of zebrafish.Then,we investigated the role of p-aminobenzoic acid in retinal regeneration in adult zebrafish.Impo rtantly,p-aminobenzoic acid activated Achaetescute complex-like 1a expression,thereby promoting Müller glia reprogramming and division,as well as Müller glia-derived progenitor cell proliferation.Finally,we eliminated folic acid and inflammation as downstream effectors of PABA and demonstrated that PABA had little effect on Müller glia distribution.Taken together,these findings show that PABA contributes to retinal regeneration through activation of Achaetescute complex-like 1a expression in the N-methyl-Daspartic acid-damaged retinas of zebrafish.Meihui He Mingfang Xia Qian Yang Xingyi Chen Haibo Li Xiaobo Xia 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,8:0
18Phenoloxidases: catechol oxidase - the temporary employer and laccase - the rising star of vascular plants显示文摘Phenolics are vital for the adaptation of plants to terrestrial habitats and for species diversity.Phenoloxidases(catechol oxidases,COs,and laccases,LACs)are responsible for the oxidation and polymerization of phenolics.However,their origin,evolution,and differential roles during plant development and land colonization are unclear.We performed the phylogeny,domain,amino acids,compositional biases,and intron analyses to clarify the origin and evolution of COs and LACs,and analysed the structure,selective pressure,and chloroplast targeting to understand the species-dependent distribution of COs.We found that Streptophyta COs were not homologous to the Chlorophyta tyrosinases(TYRs),and might have been acquired by horizontal gene transfer from bacteria.COs expanded in bryophytes.Structural-functionality and selective pressure were partially responsible for the species-dependent retention of COs in embryophytes.LACs emerged in Zygnemaphyceae,having evolved from ascorbate oxidases(AAOs),and prevailed in the vascular plants and strongly expanded in seed plants.COs and LACs coevolved with the phenolic metabolism pathway genes.These results suggested that TYRs and AAOs were the first-stage phenoloxidases in Chlorophyta.COs might be the second key for the early land colonization.LACs were the third one(dominating in the vascular plants)and might be advantageous for diversified phenol substrates and the erect growth of plants.This work provided new insights into how phenoloxidases evolved and were devoted to plant evolution.Jugou Liao Xuemei Wei Keliang Tao Gang Deng Jie Shu Qin Qiao Gonglin Chen Zhuo Wei Meihui Fan Shah Saud Shah Fahad Suiyun Chen 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,7:0
19Dust transport information and paleoclimatic changes revealed by the loess in Ranwu,south-eastern Xizang显示文摘The loess accumulation process has great potential to record patterns of atmospheric circulation change,paleoclimate,and paleoenvironmental evolution.South-eastern Xizang is a climatically sensitive region and here,we analyze a loess profile at Ranwu in order to explore the processes and interactions of dust transport and paleoclimate evolution in the region.Based on parametric grain size end-member analysis,optically stimulated luminescence(OSL)dating,and environmental proxies we show that the Ranwu loess profile comprises five end members(EMs).EM1 represents the fine silt fraction transported by high-altitude westerly winds over long distances;EM2 represents the medium silt fraction accumulated by glacier winds;EM3 is the coarse silt fraction transported by local dust storms under the action of strong glacier winds;EM4 represents the very fine sand fraction transported by strong local dust storms,different wind strengths controls the relative proportion of EM3 and EM4 over time.EM5 is the coarse sand fraction formed from the product of strong weathering of gravels.OSL dating shows loess sedimentation at Ranwu started around 11.16 ka.The prevailing climate was generally warm and wet between 11.6 and 4.2 ka,with four cooling events at 10.50,9.18,7.85,and 6.37 ka.Extensive paleosol development between 8.2 and 4.2 ka,a change to dry and cold climate conditions was favorable for loess formation after 4.2 ka.The palaeoenvironmental changes and abrupt climate events recorded in the Ranwu loess sequence are consistent with Holocene global environmental changes.Meihui PAN Huimin ZHAO Anna YANG Yougui CHEN Chenlu LI 2023Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,4:0
20Detecting SARS-CoV-2 BA.2,BA.4,and BA.5 Variants Utilizing a Robust RT-RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a-Based Method-China,2023显示文摘Introduction:Since 2019,numerous variants of concern for severe acute respiratory syndrome virus 2(SARS-CoV-2)have emerged,leading to significant outbreaks.The development of novel,highly accurate,and rapid detection techniques for these new SARSCoV-2 variants remains a primary focus in the ongoing efforts to control and prevent the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.Methods:Reverse transcription-recombinase polymerase amplification combined with the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeatsassociated protein 12a(CRISPR/Cas12a)system was used to validate the detection of the Omicron BA.2,BA.4,and BA.5 variants of SARS-CoV-2.Results:Our results demonstrate that the CRISPR/Cas12a assay is capable of effectively detecting the SARS-CoV-2 BA.2,BA.4,and BA.5 variants with a limit of detection of 10,1,and 10 copies/μL,respectively.Importantly,our assay successfully differentiated the three SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strains from one another.Additionally,we evaluated 46 SARS-CoV-2 positive clinical samples consisting of BA.2(n=20),BA.4(n=6),and BA.5(n=20)variants,and the sensitivity of our assay ranged from 90%to 100%,while the specificity was 100%.Discussion:This research presents a swift and reliable CRISPR-based method that may be employed to track the emergence of novel SARS-CoV-2 variants.Meihui Luo Yang Pan Yaqing He Ruhan A Changcheng Wu Baoying Huang Roujian Lu Li Zhao Bo Peng Fei Ye Huijuan Wang Yuda Chen Zhen Li Daitao Zhang Wenling Wang Wenjie Tan 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,26:0
