Herein, we demonstrated a method to pattern catalyst via inkjet printing for the growth of SWNTs, using metal salt solutions as the inks and an ordinary office-use printer. We printed water solutions of cobalt acetate on hydrophilic Si substrates and grew high quality SWNT films. | 4 | Channel Mismatches Correction in Time-Interleaved ADCs Based on Hybrid Filter Bank Reconstruction显示文摘Time-interleaved analog-to-digital converter(TIADC) is an efficient way to achieve higher sampling rate for medium-to-high resolution applications. The performance of a TIADC suffers from the mismatch errors among the sub-channels. This paper presents a method to estimate the channel mismatches using the sub-channels output data. The proposed method introduces an equivalent transfer function for each channel to model and estimate the mismatch errors. A Hybrid filter bank(HFB)structure is used to both model the TIADC and reconstruct the desired uniformly sampled sequence based on the perfect reconstruction conditions of the HFB system.A four-channel 12-bit 400 MHz TIADC has been implemented in hardware to verify the proposed calibration method. | 11 | Dust transport information and paleoclimatic changes revealed by the loess in Ranwu,south-eastern Xizang显示文摘The loess accumulation process has great potential to record patterns of atmospheric circulation change,paleoclimate,and paleoenvironmental evolution.South-eastern Xizang is a climatically sensitive region and here,we analyze a loess profile at Ranwu in order to explore the processes and interactions of dust transport and paleoclimate evolution in the region.Based on parametric grain size end-member analysis,optically stimulated luminescence(OSL)dating,and environmental proxies we show that the Ranwu loess profile comprises five end members(EMs).EM1 represents the fine silt fraction transported by high-altitude westerly winds over long distances;EM2 represents the medium silt fraction accumulated by glacier winds;EM3 is the coarse silt fraction transported by local dust storms under the action of strong glacier winds;EM4 represents the very fine sand fraction transported by strong local dust storms,different wind strengths controls the relative proportion of EM3 and EM4 over time.EM5 is the coarse sand fraction formed from the product of strong weathering of gravels.OSL dating shows loess sedimentation at Ranwu started around 11.16 ka.The prevailing climate was generally warm and wet between 11.6 and 4.2 ka,with four cooling events at 10.50,9.18,7.85,and 6.37 ka.Extensive paleosol development between 8.2 and 4.2 ka,a change to dry and cold climate conditions was favorable for loess formation after 4.2 ka.The palaeoenvironmental changes and abrupt climate events recorded in the Ranwu loess sequence are consistent with Holocene global environmental changes. | Meihui PAN Huimin ZHAO Anna YANG Yougui CHEN Chenlu LI | 2023 | Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Production of XX neo-male mandarin fish, Siniperca chuatsi, after sexual differentiation by oral administration of 17α-methyltestosterone显示文摘A well-known fact about mandarin fish(Siniperca chuatsi)is that females grow faster than males.Mandarin fish that have all-female populations have economic advantages,but traditional neo-male fish are difficult to produce.In this study,indirect feeding of 500 mg/kg 17α-methyltestosterone(MT)to XX mandarin fish(60 dpf,days post fertilization)with completely differentiated ovaries induced secondary sex reversal.At 40 days after MT treatment,14.7%of mandarin fish with complete reversal was produced,which showed for the first time that XX mandarin fishes with differentiated ovaries still have potentially bisexual germ cells and the plasticity of sex reversal.In the MT treatment group,there was no significant difference in survival compared to the control group.The body weight of the MT treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group 40 days after treatment(dat)(P<0.05).During MT treatment,serum 11-KT and T concentrations increased and serum E2 concentration decreased in the MT treatment group,but there was no significant difference in hormone levels between the MT treatment group and the control group.A masculinization of mandarin fish was also confirmed by the expression patterns of sex-specific genes sox9,dmrt1,cyp19a1a and foxl2.A significant amount of sox9 and dmrt1 was expressed in the fish gonads of the MT treatment group,whereas cyp19a1a and foxl2 were minimally expressed in the fish gonads. | Jingjun Huang Shiyan Liu Haofeng Ouyang Chong Han Meihui Li Linqiang Han Shuisheng Li Guifeng Li Haoran Lin Yong Zhang | 2023 | Water Biology and Security2023,2,1: | 0 |

| 15 | Species-level Microbiota of Biting Midges and Ticks from Poyang Lake显示文摘Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the bacterial communities of biting midges and ticks collected from three sites in the Poyang Lake area,namely,Qunlu Practice Base,Peach Blossom Garden,and Huangtong Animal Husbandry,and whether vectors carry any bacterial pathogens that may cause diseases to humans,to provide scientific basis for prospective pathogen discovery and disease prevention and control.Methods Using a metataxonomics approach in concert with full-length 16S rRNA gene sequencing and operational phylogenetic unit(OPU)analysis,we characterized the species-level microbial community structure of two important vector species,biting midges and ticks,including 33 arthropod samples comprising 3,885 individuals,collected around Poyang Lake.Results A total of 662 OPUs were classified in biting midges,including 195 known species and 373 potentially new species,and 618 OPUs were classified in ticks,including 217 known species and 326 potentially new species.Surprisingly,OPUs with potentially pathogenicity were detected in both arthropod vectors,with 66 known species of biting midges reported to carry potential pathogens,including Asaia lannensis and Rickettsia bellii,compared to 50 in ticks,such as Acinetobacter lwoffii and Staphylococcus sciuri.We found that Proteobacteria was the most dominant group in both midges and ticks.Furthermore,the outcomes demonstrated that the microbiota of midges and ticks tend to be governed by a few highly abundant bacteria.Pantoea sp7 was predominant in biting midges,while Coxiella sp1 was enriched in ticks.Meanwhile,Coxiella spp.,which may be essential for the survival of Haemaphysalis longicornis Neumann,were detected in all tick samples.The identification of dominant species and pathogens of biting midges and ticks in this study serves to broaden our knowledge associated to microbes of arthropod vectors.Conclusion Biting midges and ticks carry large numbers of known and potentially novel bacteria,and carry a wide range of potentially pathogenic bacteria,which may pose a risk of infection to humans and animals.The microbial communities of midges and ticks tend to be dominated by a few highly abundant bacteria. | GONG Jian WANG Fei Fei LIU Yang Qing PU Ji DONG Ling Zhi ZHANG Si Hui HUANG Zhen Zhou HUANG Yu Yuan LI Ya Ben YANG Cai Xin TAO Yuan Meihui ZHAO Li Jun JIN Dong LIU Li Yun YANG Jing LU Shan | 2024 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2024,37,3: | 0 |
