1A Comprehensive Approach for the Clustering of Similar-Performance Cells for the Design of a Lithium-Ion Battery Module for Electric Vehicles显示文摘An energy-storage system comprised of lithium-ion battery modules is considered to be a core component of new energy vehicles,as it provides the main power source for the transmission system.However,manufacturing defects in battery modules lead to variations in performance among the cells used in series or parallel configuration.This variation results in incomplete charge and discharge of batteries and non-uniform temperature distribution,which further lead to reduction of cycle life and battery capacity over time.To solve this problem,this work uses experimental and numerical methods to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the clustering of battery cells with similar performance in order to produce a battery module with improved electrochemical performance.Experiments were first performed by dismantling battery modules for the measurement of performance parameters.The kmeans clustering and support vector clustering(SVC)algorithms were then employed to produce battery modules composed of 12 cells each.Experimental verification of the results obtained from the clustering analysis was performed by measuring the temperature rise in the cells over a certain period,while air cooling was provided.It was found that the SVC-clustered battery module in Category 3 exhibited the best performance,with a maximum observed temperature of 32℃.By contrast,the maximum observed temperatures of the other battery modules were higher,at 40℃for Category 1(manufacturer),36℃for Category 2(manufacturer),and 35℃for Category 4(k-means-clustered battery module).Wei Li Siqi Chen Xiongbin Peng Mi Xiao Liang Gao Akhil Garg Nengsheng Bao 2019Engineering2019,5,4:4
2Amplicon-Based Illumina Sequencing and Quantitative PCR Reveals Nanoplankton Diversity and Biomass in Surface Water of Qinhuangdao Coastal Area, China显示文摘Aureococcus anophagefferens caused brown tides for three consecutive years from 2009 to 2011 in the coastal waters of Qinhuangdao, China, with numerous, widespread ecological and economic impact on ecosystems. To understand the population dy- namics of nanoplankton during the brown tides, sequences of the V9 region of the 18S rDNA gene, used as a marker, were analyzed by Illumina sequencing to assess nanoplankton biomass, and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was performed to analyze spa- tial variation in the 18S rDNA copy concentrations of nanoplankton off the Qinhuangdao coast in July, 2011. The results showed that A. anophagefferens and Minutocellus polymorphus were the dominant species in the local phytoplankton community during the brown tide in July 2011. The highest 18S rDNA copy concentrations of A. anophagefferens and M. polymorphus were detected at stations SHG and FN, respectively. The central area most strongly affected by the brown tide migrated southward from 2011 to 2013. Redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that the decreasing NOx concentration might provide suitable nutrient conditions for the A. anophagefferens outbreak. During the brown tide caused by A. anophagefferens, other phytoplankton, such as diatoms, cryptophytes, chlorophytes, dinoflagellates and other flagellates, could co-occur with it. 7Point process models, the dimensions of biodiversity and the importance of small-scale biotic interactions显示文摘Aims Recent mechanistic explanations for community assembly focus on the debates surrounding niche-based deterministic and dispersalbased stochastic models.This body of work has emphasized the importance of both habitat filtering and dispersal limitation,and many of these works have utilized the assumption of species spatial independence to simplify the complexity of the spatial modeling in natural communities when given dispersal limitation and/or habitat filtering.One potential drawback of this simplification is that it does not consider species interactions and how they may influence the spatial distribution of species,phylogenetic and functional diversity.Here,we assess the validity of the assumption of species spatial independence using data from a subtropical forest plot in southeastern China.Methods We use the four most commonly employed spatial statistical models—the homogeneous Poisson process representing pure random effect,the heterogeneous Poisson process for the effect of habitat heterogeneity,the homogenous Thomas process for sole dispersal limitation and the heterogeneous Thomas process for joint effect of habitat heterogeneity and dispersal limitation—to investigate the contribution of different mechanisms in shaping the species,phylogenetic and functional structures of communities.Important Findings Our evidence from species,phylogenetic and functional diversity demonstrates that the habitat filtering and/or dispersal-based models perform well and the assumption of species spatial independence is relatively valid at larger scales(50×50 m).Conversely,at local scales(10×10 and 20×20 m),the models often fail to predict the species,phylogenetic and functional diversity,suggesting that the assumption of species spatial independence is invalid and that biotic interactions are increasingly important at these spatial scales.Xiangcheng Mi Lei Bao Jianhua Chen Keping Ma 2014Journal of Plant Ecology2014,7,2:1

16A 10kW-scale Distributed Power Plant of Natural Gas-Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell显示文摘A 10 kW-scale natural gas fueled proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) distributed power plant is presented in this paper,which is designed for cogeneration of power and heat. With homemade catalysts for CO removal in a two-stage methanation process and integrated reactor in the fuel processing system,the reformed fuel with CO molar fraction less than 10-5 is obtained for the fuel cell stack. Based on Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and xPC Target platform,a rapid control prototype(RCP) is developed for real-time condition management,signal tracking and parameter tuning,data storing,and man-machine interaction. In a typical running with 4.3 kW stack power,the hydrogen production efficiency,gross power generation efficiency and heat recovery efficiency approach to 76%,41% and 50%,respectively. The peak stack power reaches 7.3 kW.
