| 1 | Prognostic value of pre-and post-transplantation 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography results in non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients receiving autologous stem cell transplantation显示文摘Objective: High-dose chemotherapy(HDC) followed by autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT) is the standard of care in the upfront or relapsed/refractory setting in some patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL).However,a proportion of patients do not respond to ASCT.^(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG) positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT) has been widely used for staging,response evaluation,and prognosis prediction.Here,we investigated the prognostic role of PET/CT in NHL patients before and after ASCT.Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at Peking University Cancer Hospital.All NHL patients who underwent ASCT between March 2010 and July 2016 were identified.Patients who had PET/CT scan before and after ASCT were included.Deauville criteria(5-point scale) were used to interpret PET scans.Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed using Cox regression.The predictive value of PET scanning was estimated by comparing the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve.Results: In total,79 patients were enrolled in this study.In univariate analysis,pre-and post-ASCT PET result was identified as prognostic factors for 3-year progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS).Patients with negative pre-ASCT PET result demonstrated significantly better PFS(84.2% vs.54.2%) and OS(89.2% vs.63.6%) than patients with positive pre-ASCT PET result.PFS(91.6% vs.25.3%) and OS(96.5% vs.36.8%) were also significantly different between patients with negative and positive post-ASCT PET result.Multivariate analysis also showed a significant association between survival and post-ASCT PET result.ROC analysis revealed that the predictive value of post-ASCT PET result was superior to that of pre-ASCT PET result alone.Combined pre-and post-ASCT PET result is better for predicting outcomes in patients with NHL receiving transplantation.Deauville criteria score >3 was identified as the best cutoff value for post-ASCT PET.Conclusions: Post-ASCT PET result was more important than pre-ASCT PET result in predicting outcomes for NHL patients who underwent ASCT.The prognostic significance can be improved when combining preASCT PET result with post-ASCT PET result.Deauville criteria can be used for interpreting PET scans in this scenario. | Zhitao Ying Lan Mi Xuejuan Wang Yuewei Zhang Zhi Yang Yuqin Song Xiaopei Wang WenZheng Ningjing Lin Meifeng Tu Yan Xie Lingyan Ping Chen Zhang Weiping Liu LijuanDeng Jun Zhu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 3 |
| 2 | Prognostic value of ^(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography using Deauville criteria in diffuse large B cell lymphoma treated with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation显示文摘Objective: High-dose chemotherapy(HDC) followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(auto-HSCT) plays an important role in improving outcomes of diffuse large B cell lymphoma(DLBCL) patients.18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose(18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT) has been widely accepted in response assessment and prediction of prognosis in DLBCL. Here, we report the value of 18 FFDG PET/CT pre-and post-HSCT in predicting outcomes of patients with DLBCL.Methods: DLBCL patients who had PET/CT scan before and after HSCT were included. PET results were interpreted based upon Deauville criteria. The prognostic value of 18 F-FDG PET/CT in auto-HSCT was evaluated.Results: Eighty-four patients were enrolled. In univariate analysis, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were correlated with 3-year progression-free survival(PFS) [hazard ratio(HR)=4.391, P=0.001; HR=7.607, P<0.001] and overall survival(OS)(HR=4.792, P=0.008; HR=26.138, P<0.001). Patients receiving upfront auto-HSCT after firstline treatment had better outcomes than relapsed/refractory DLBCL patients(3-year PFS, P<0.001; 3-year OS,P<0.001). In the relapsed/refractory patients, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were also associated with 3-year PFS(P=0.003 vs. P<0.001) and OS(P=0.027 vs. P<0.001). A significant correlation was observed between clinical response to chemotherapy before auto-HSCT and outcomes of patients in the entire cohort(3-year PFS, P<0.001;3-year OS, P<0.001) and in the subgroup of 21 patients with positive pre-HSCT PET(3-year PFS, P=0.084; 3-year OS, P=0.240). A significant association between survival and post-HSCT PET findings was observed in multivariate analysis(HR=5.168, P<0.001).Conclusions: PET results before and after HSCT are useful prognostic factors for DLBCL patients receiving HSCT. | 3 | Thermal Anomalies and Earthquakes:Evidence from Wenchuan,China显示文摘Earthquake prediction is a difficult problem in Earth sciences.Unsuccessful predictions one after another urged people to explore more synthetic and comprehensive methods for earthquake prediction.The Lithosphere-Atmosphere-Ionosphere(LAI)coupling theory pays great attention to the processes taking place within the near ground layer of atmosphere.It has achieved great results recently,and can enlighten us about the nature of an earthquake's precursor.Based on the NCEP reanalysis dataset,this paper attempts to track the anomalies of the surface's upward long wave radiation flux(ULWRF),the temperature at the depth of 10cm~20cm below ground surface layer(BGL)and the air temperature at 2 meters above ground surface(AIR)around the time of the strong Wenchuan earthquake.Thermal anomalies were observed before and after May 12,2008,the time of the Wenchuan earthquake.Perhaps the thermal anomaly that occurred prior to the earthquake can be taken as indicators of the earthquake,but in view of the complexity of the earthquake phenomena,using thermal anomaly as a precursor should be done with caution. | Yang Guo'an Mi Yuqin | 2009 | Earthquake Research in China2009,23,1: | 1 |
| 4 | The Incidence of Lymphoma in Beijing:Comparing Results from MIS-CASS(2019)and Beijing Cancer Registry(2017)显示文摘Introduction:This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the Medical-Insurance-System-based Cancer Surveillance System(MIS-CASS)in estimating cancer incidence by comparing the results with the Beijing Cancer Registry(BCR),which is one of the highest-quality population-based cancer registries in China.Methods:Using lymphoma as an example,we extracted relevant claims data from the administrative systems of medical insurance in Beijing(2012–2020)and estimated the most current lymphoma incidence in Beijing(2019)using a standard data processing procedure.The absolute number of new cases,crude incidence rate,and age-standardized incidence rate of lymphoma were compared with the latest data reported by the BCR(2017).Results:Both lymphoma incidence rates and age distribution of new cases estimated based on MISCASS were similar to the BCR data(crude incidence rate:9.8/100,000 vs.10.6/100,000).However,because MIS-CASS included more designated hospitals and covered a larger local stationary population irrespective of household registration(hukou),the absolute number of incident lymphoma cases identified by MIS-CASS was 39.1%higher than that reported by the BCR(2,002 vs.1,439).Conclusions:The MIS-CASS approach reflected the actual cancer burden in a more complete and timely manner as compared with the current BCR,providing new insights for improving cancer surveillance strategies in China. | Hongrui Tian Weiping Liu Yuqin Song Lan Mi Zhen Liu Mengfei Liu Chuanhai Guo Fangfang Liu Ying Liu Yaqi Pan Jun Zhu Zhonghu He Yang Ke | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,52: | 0 |
| 5 | Problems and Challenges Associated with Renaming Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease to Metabolic Associated Fatty Liver Disease显示文摘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has become the world’s largest chronic liver disease in the 21st century,affecting 20%-30%of the world’s population.As the epidemiology,etiology,and pathogenesis of NAFLD have been studied in-depth,it has been gradually recognized that most patients with NAFLD have one or more combined metabolic abnormalities known as metabolic syndrome.In 2020,the international expert group changed the name of NAFLD to metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)and proposed new diagnostic criteria for MAFLD and MAFLD-related liver cirrhosis,as well as the conceptual framework of other cause-related fatty liver diseases to avoid diagnosis based on the exclusion of other causes and better reflect its pathogenesis.However,there are still many ambiguities in the term,and changing the name does not address the unmet key needs in the field.The change from NAFLD to MAFLD was not just a change of definition.The problems and challenges are summarized as follows:epidemiology,children,rationality of'metabolism,'diagnostic criteria,double/multiple causes,drug discovery,clinical trials,and awareness raising.Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease has complex disease characteristics,and there are still some problems that need to be solved. | Minghui Zeng Lin Chen Yuqin Li Yuqiang Mi Liang Xu | 2023 | Infectious Diseases & Immunity2023,3,3: | 0 |
