| 1 | Effect of burden and origin sites of premature ventricular contractions on left ventricular function by 7-day Holter monitor显示文摘Recent studies have shown that premature ventricular contractions(PVCs) could enlarge the heart,but its risk factors are incompletely understood as a single 24-hour recording cannot reflect the true PVC burden due to day-to-day variability.Our purpose was to investigate the effect of burden and origin sites on left ventricular(LV) function in patients with PVCs by 7-day Holter electrocardiography(ECG).From May 2012 to August2013,112 consecutive patients with PVCs were recruited from the authors' affiliated hospital.All patients received2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography,12-lead routing ECG and 7-days Holter ECG.Serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) levels were measured.A total of 102 participants with PVCs were included in the final analysis.Origin of PVCs from the tricuspid annulus had the highest burden and NT-proBNP level.LV papillary muscle had a higher LV ejection fraction(EF) level and a lower LV end-systolic dimension(ESD) than other PVC foci(P<0.05).The high burden group had a higher LV end-diastolic dimension(EDD) and LVESD but lower LVEF than the other two groups(P<0.05).Female,older age,physical work,and history of PVCs had a significantly positive correlation with symptoms.Male,older age,physical work,and high burden were positive predictors of enlarged LVEDD,LVESD and higher serum NT-proBNP level,but lower LVEF.Seven-day dynamic ECG Holter monitor showed the true PVC burden on patients with PVCs.PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign,while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction. | Wenhua Xu Mingfang Li Minglong Chen Bing Yang Daowu Wang Xiangqing Kong Hongwu Chen Weizhu Ju Kai Gu Kejiang Cao Hailei Liu Qi Jiang Jiaojiao Shi Yan Cui Hong Wang | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,6: | 4 |
| 2 | Association between essential hypertension and polymorphisms of beta 1 adrenergic receptor gene G1165C (Gly389Arg) in Chinese Mongolian population显示文摘BACKGROUND: The prevalences of hypertension, cerebrovascular diseases, etc. are higher in Mongolian population because of the influence of various factors including genetics, geography, diet, etc. Therefore, it is helpful to develop researches on the genetics of various diseases including hypertension in Mongolian population. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the association between the polymorphism of beta1 adrenergic receptor (β1-AR) gene G1165C (Arg389Gly), an important candidate gene for various diseases of cardiovascular system, and essential hypertension in Mongolian population. DESIGN: A cross-sectional study. SETTINGS: Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical College; Wulate Houqi Red Cross Society. PARTICIPANTS: The survey was carried out from February 2003 to March 2005. Totally 239 Mongolian residents, whose blood relations of 3 generations were all Mongolians, were selected from Wulate Houqi, Inner Mongolia, and they were all informed with the survey and detected items. Based on the diagnostic standard of hypertension set by WHO in 1999, the subjects were divided into two groups according to the level blood pressure: ① Normal blood pressure group (n=117): systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 140 mm Hg (1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) < 90 mm Hg, and those having histories of cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, diseases of liver, kidney and tiroides, and diabetes mellitus were excluded. ② Essential hypertension group (n=122): including 51 patients with simple high SBP. All the enrolled subjects had no blood relationship with each other, and had no history of miscegenation. METHODS: The body height, body mass, waist circumference and blood lipids were measured routinely, and their habits of smoking and drinking were also investigated. Peripheral venous blood (5 mL) was drawn, the genome DNA was extracted, and the polymorphisms of the β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) genotype were detected with the Sequenom system. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiment and SNP detection were performed in Huada Gene Laboratory of Bejing, then the univariate analysis of variance was applied in the sample comparison among groups, and the chi-square test was used to compare the genotypes and allele frequencies. The odd ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The distributions of β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) genotypes and alleles were observed. RESULTS: All the 239 subjects were involved in the analysis of results, and no one missed. ①Comparison of β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) genotypes and allele distributions: In Mongolian population, the frequencies of CC and GG+GC genotypes at β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) site in the essential hypertension group (72%, 28%) were not significantly different from those in the normal blood pressure group (67%, 33%) (χ2=0.841, P=0.359; OR: 0.773, 95%CI: 0.445-1.342); The frequencies of C and G alleles also had no significant differences between the essential hypertension group (85%, 15%) and the normal blood pressure group (82%, 18%) (χ2=1.136, P=0.287; OR: 0.769, 95%CI: 0.747-1.248). ②The frequencies of CC and GG+GC genotypes at β1-AR G1165C (Gly389Arg) site had no significant differences between the patients with simple high SBP (71%, 29%) and the normal blood pressure group (χ2=0.250, P=0.617; OR: 0.833, 95%CI: 0.408-1.703); The frequencies of C and G alleles were not significantly different between the patients with simple high SBP (86%, 14%) and the normal blood pressure group (χ2=0.670, P=0.413; OR: 0.766, 95%CI: 0.404-1.453). DESIGN: A comparative observation. SETTINGS: Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical College; Wulate Houqi Red Cross Society. PARTICIPANTS: Totally 267 Mongolian residents, whose blood relations of 3 generations were all Mongolians, were selected from Wulate Houqi, Inner Mongolia. The patients were screened based on the diagnostic standard of hypertension set by WHO in 1999, and the enrolled subjects were divided into two groups according to the level of blood pressure: ① Normal blood pressure group (n =124): 64 males and 60 females, systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 140 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) < 90 mm Hg; ② Essential hypertension group (n =143): 71 males and 72 females, including 60 patients with simple high SBP (SBP ranged 145 to 195 mm Hg, whereas DBP < 90 mm Hg). METHODS: Peripheral venous blood (5 mL) was drawn from all the subjects, the genome DNA was extracted, and the polymorphisms of the GNB3 C825T genotype were detected with the Sequenom system. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiment and SNP detection were performed in Beijing Huada gene laboratory. Then the univariate analysis of variance was applied in the sample comparison among groups, and the chi-square test was used to compare the genotypes and allele frequencies. The odd ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The distributions of GNB3 C825T genotypes and alleles were observed. RESULTS: All the 267 Mongolian subjects were involved in the analysis of results. ① GNB3 C825T genotypes: In Mongolian population, the frequencies of CC, CT and TT genotypes at GNB3 C825T site in the essential hypertension group (48%, 41%, 11%) were not obvious different from those in the normal blood pressure group (43%, 47%, 10%,χ2 =0.162, P =0.688; OR:1.176, 95%CI: 0.533–2.592), whereas there were also no obvious differences between the simple high SBP group (57%, 35%, 8%) and the normal blood pressure group (χ2 =0.733, P =0.392; OR:1.957, 95%CI: 0.623–6.143). ② GNB3 C825T alleles: In Mongolian population, The frequencies of C and T alleles in the essential hypertension group (69%, 31%) were not obviously different from those in the normal blood pressure group (67%, 33%, χ2 =0.094, P = 0.759; OR:0.945, 95%CI: 0.657–1.358), whereas there were also no obvious differences between the simple high SBP group (74%, 26%) and the normal blood pressure group (χ2 =2.133, P =0.144; OR:0.697, 95%CI: 0.428–1.133). | 9 | Effects of Sodium Nitroprussiate on the Metabolites and Key Enzyme Activities of Carbon-nitrogen Metabolism from Seed Germination to Seedling Period of Cherry Tomato显示文摘This study was conducted to elucidate the regulating mechanism of sodium nitroprussiate on seed germination and seedling growth of cherry tomato. After the treatment with different concentrations of sodium nitroprusside,the effects on the metabolites and key enzyme activities in carbon-nitrogen metabolism of cherry tomato cultivar Zhuyun as an experimental material were investigated. The results showed that from seed germination to seedling period,the contents of starch and total nitrogen decreased,but the contents of soluble sugar,reducing sugar,sucrose and soluble protein increased firstly and then decreased; and free amino acids content increased gradually. Sodium nitroprusside made the contents of starch,sucrose and free amino acids higher than CK. From seed germination to seedling period in cherry tomato,the activities of amylase,glutamine synthetase( GS) and sucrose phosphate synthase( SPS) decreased; the activities of nitrate reductase( NR) and glutamate synthase( GOGAT) increased at first and decreased then; and the CK and the 0. 25 mmol/L sodium nitroprusside treatments exhibited decreased sucrose synthase( SS) activity,and the trend was increasing at first and decreasing then after the treatment with 0. 50 and 1. 00 mmol/L sodium nitroprusside. Sodium nitroprusside treatment improved amylase activity; and the carbon-nitrogen ratio of the CK increased at first and decreased then,while the values of other treatments tended to decrease. In addition,sodium nitroprusside did not affect seed germination potential and germination rate,but significantly improved biomass accumulation,root length and height of seedlings. | 10 | Correlation between Microstructures and Yield Strength of a High Strength Enameling Steel显示文摘Numerical estimates of the components of yield strength of a high strength Fe-C-Mn-P-N-Si enameling steel were determined using empirical relationships between microstructure and yield strength. Results are reported for both the hot rolled (HR) and cold rolled (CR) forms before and after simulating an enamel-fire anneal (EFA). To determine the solubilities of alloying elements, thermodynamic calculations were performed in combination with the considerations of process conditions and the element diffusivities. The results show that the main solid solution strengtheners were the elements Mn, Si, and P, while the elements C and N were nearly completely tied up as precipitates. | 11 | Epicardial adipose tissue around the superior vena cava: A single center study of factors related to atrial fibrillation显示文摘The superior vena cava(SVC)is the main component of non-pulmonary vein(PV)ectopy in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF).Researchers have found that epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)volume is related to the AF substrate,which can be defined by the low voltage area(LVA).This study aimed to investigate the relationship between SVC-EAT and SVC-AF.Twenty-six patients with SVC-AF triggers were identified as the SVC-AF group.Other three groups were defined and included as the LVA-AF group(LVA>5%),non-LVA-AF group(LVA<5%),and physical examination(PE)group.EAT around left atrium(LA-EAT)and SVC-EAT volumes were obtained using a cardiac risk assessment module.According to the SVC/LA-EAT ratio,there are significant differences between the SVC-AF group and the three control groups(the SVC-AF group 0.092±0.041 vs.the LVA-AF group 0.054±0.026,the non-LVA-AF group 0.052±0.022,and the PE group 0.052±0.019,all P<0.001).Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis suggests the optimal cut-off point of SVC/LA-EAT ratio is 6.8%for detecting SVC-AF patients,with 81.1%sensitivity,73.1%specificity,and an area under the curve of 0.83(95%confidence interval,0.75-0.91).Those with SVC-AF have a higher SVC/LA-EAT ratio and empirical SVC isolation could be considered if the SVC/LA-EAT ratio was over 6.8%. | Xingxing Sun Jun Wang Qing Yan Weizhu Ju Fengxiang Zhang Gang Yang Kai Gu Hailei Liu Zidun wang Xiaohong Jiang Mingfang Li Di Xu Yi Xu Hongwu Chen Minglong Chen | 2022 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2022,36,6: | 0 |
| 12 | Screening of additives to reduce grain damage risk on unhairing by proteinase K显示文摘Enzymatic unhairing is a cleaner strategy for leather-making.It is a potential alternative to the traditional hairburning process.However,several shortcomings,such as uncontrolled enzymatic reaction,and risk of grain looseness and damage have restricted the broad application of enzymatic unhairing.In this work,metal ions and organic additives were screened for lessening the hydrolytic activity of proteinase K to collagen fiber.Then,the selected additives were applied to the enzymatic unhairing process for bovine hide.The results showed that a suitable concentration of metal ions(Cu(Ⅱ),Fe(Ⅲ)and Al(Ⅲ))and organic additives(salicylate,laurate,adipate,gallate and epicatechin(ECG))could diminish approximately 35% of the hydrolytic activity of proteinase K to collagen fibers.Then,the additives were applied for the bovine hide enzymatic unhairing process.Hydroxyproline determination in the unhairing float shows that applying additives could reduce collagen hydrolysis.The morphology results showed that the grain damage could be significantly reduced with the addition of the screened additives in the proteinase K enzymatic unhairing system,whereas the addition of ECG and gallate significantly slowed down the unhairing speed.This outcome provides new potential to reduce the risk of grain damage in enzymatic unhairing process. | Mei Chen Mingfang Jiang He Li Haiming Cheng | 2020 | Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2020,2,1: | 0 |
