Nitrogen-doped fluorescence carbon dots as multi-mechanism detection for iodide and curcumin in biological and food samples显示文摘Iodine ion is one of the most indispensable anions in living organisms, particularly being an important substance for the synthesis of thyroid hormones.Curcumin is a yellow-orange polyphenol compound derived from the rhizome of Curcuma longa L.,which has been commonly used as a spice and natural coloring agent, food additives, cosmetics as well as Chinese medicine. However, excess curcumin may cause DNA inactivation, lead to a decrease in intracellular ATP levels, and trigger the tissue necrosis. Therefore, quantitative detection of iodine and curcumin is of great significance in the fields of food and life sciences.Herein,we develop nitrogen-doped fluorescent carbon dots(NCDs)as a multi-mechanism detection for iodide and curcumin in actual complex biological and food samples, which was prepared by a one-step solid-phase synthesis using tartaric acid and urea as precursors without adding any other reagents. An assembled NCDs-Hg^(2+) fluorescence-enhanced sensor for the quantitative detection of I^(-) was established based on a fluorescence“turn-off-on”mechanism in a linear range of 0.3-15μM with a detection limit of 69.4 nM and successfully quantified trace amounts of I^(-) in water samples and urine sample.Meanwhile, the as-synthesized NCDs also can be used as a fluorescent quenched sensor for curcumin detection based on the synergistic internal filtration effect(IFE)and static quenching, achieving a good linear range of 0.1-20μM with a satisfactory detection limit of 29.8 nM.These results indicate that carbon dots are potential sensing materials for iodine and curcumin detection for the good of our health. | Xiaodan Tang Hongmei Yu Brian Bui Lingyun Wang Christina Xing Shaoyan Wang Mingli Chen Zhizhi Hu Wei Chen | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,6: | 11
Review of low timing jitter mode-locked fiber lasers and applications in dual-comb absolute distance measurement显示文摘Passively mode-locked fiber lasers emit femtosecond pulse trains with excellent short-term stability. The quantum-limited timing jitter of a free running femtosecond erbium-doped fiber laser working at room temperature is considerably below one femtosecond at high Fourier frequency. The ultrashort pulse train with ultralow timing jitter enables absolute time-of-flight measurements based on a dual-comb implementation, which is typically composed of a pair of optical frequency combs generated by femtosecond lasers. Dead-zone-free absolute distance measurement with sub-micrometer precision and kHz update rate has been routinely achieved with a dual-comb configuration, which is promising for a number of precision manufacturing applications, from large step-structure measurements prevalent in microelectronic profilometry to three coordinate measurements in large-scale aerospace manufacturing and shipbuilding. In this paper, we first review the sub-femtosecond precision timing jitter characterization methods and approaches for ultralow timing jitter mode-locked fiber laser design. Then, we provide an overview of the state-of-the-art dual-comb absolute ranging technology in terms of working principles, experimental implementations, and measurement precisions. Finally, we discuss the impact of quantum-limited timing jitter on the dual-comb ranging precision at a high update rate. The route to highprecision dual-comb range finder design based on ultralow jitter femtosecond fiber lasers is proposed. | Haosen Shi Youjian Song Runmin Li Yuepeng Li Hui Cao Haochen Tian Bowen Liu Lu Chai Minglie Hu | 2018 | Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2018,1,4: | 9
Target delineation and dose prescription of adaptive replanning intensity-modulated radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Dear Editor,Intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)has a distinct advantage of high conformity and is an appropriate tech-nique for treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Pre-vious studies have demonstrated that anatomical changes in the external contour, shape, and location of the target and critical structures are significant and result in dosi-metric changes[1,2].Patients’quality of life and clini-cal outcomes might be improved by IMRT replanning[3].Therefore,replanning strategies should be consid-ered instead of single-planning strategies throughout the entire course of radiotherapy. However, there are sub-stantial controversies on(1)the appropriate time for tar-get redelineation,(2)how to modify the target volumes,and(3)how to evaluate the modified plans. The present study provides a new perspective in replanning with regard to these three aspects. | Dehuan Xie Wanqin Cheng Shaowen Lv Rui Zhong Lei Wang Jiang Hu Mingli Wang Shaomin Huang Yong Su Yunfei Xia | 2019 | Cancer Communications2019,39,1: | 7
Neurocognitive Graphs of First-Episode Schizophrenia and Major Depression Based on Cognitive Features显示文摘Neurocognitive deficits are frequently observed in patients with schizophrenia and major depressive disorder(MDD). The relations between cognitive features may be represented by neurocognitive graphs based on cognitive features, modeled as Gaussian Markov random fields. However, it is unclear whether it is possible to differentiate between phenotypic patterns associated with the differential diagnosis of schizophrenia and depression using this neurocognitive graph approach. In this study, we enrolled 215 first-episode patients with schizophrenia(FES), 125 with MDD, and 237 demographically-matched healthy controls(HCs). The cognitive performance of all participants was evaluated using a battery of neurocognitive tests. The graphical LASSO model was trained with aone-vs-one scenario to learn the conditional independent structure of neurocognitive features of each group. Participants in the holdout dataset were classified into different groups with the highest likelihood. A partial correlation matrix was transformed from the graphical model to further explore the neurocognitive graph for each group. The classification approach identified the diagnostic class for individuals with an average accuracy of 73.41% for FES vs HC, 67.07% for MDD vs HC, and 59.48% for FES vs MDD. Both of the neurocognitive graphs for FES and MDD had more connections and higher node centrality than those for HC. The neurocognitive graph for FES was less sparse and had more connections than that for MDD.Thus, neurocognitive graphs based on cognitive features are promising for describing endophenotypes that may discriminate schizophrenia from depression. | Sugai Liang Roberto Vega Xiangzhen Kong Wei Deng Qiang Wang Xiaohong Ma Mingli Li Xun Hu Andrew J.Greenshaw Russell Greiner Tao Li | 2018 | Neuroscience Bulletin2018,34,2: | 6
Effects of redox potential on soil cadmium solubility:Insight into microbial community显示文摘Understanding the role of microbes in the solubility of cadmium(Cd) is of fundamental importance for remediation of Cd toxicity. The present study aimed to identify the microbes that involved in regulating Cd solubility and to reveal possible mechanisms. Therefore, microbial communities were investigated through high-throughput sequencing approach, the molecular ecological network was constructed and metagenomes were predicted. Our results indicated that redox conditions affected both the solubility of soil Cd and the microbial communities. Anaerobic microbes, such as Anaerolineaceae, did not only play important roles in shaping the microbial community in soils, but might also be involved in regulating the Cd solubility. Two possible mechanisms that how Anaerolineaceae involved in Cd solubility are(1) Anaerolineaceae are important organic matter degraders under anoxic conditions and(2) Anaerolineaceae can co-exist with methane metabolism microbes, while methane metabolism promotes the precipitation of soluble Cd. Thus, application of Anaerolineaceae in bioremediation of soil Cadmium contamination is a potential approach. The study provided a novel insight into the role of microbial community in the regulation of Cd solubility under different redox conditions, and suggested a potential approach for the remediation of soil Cd contamination. | Delong Meng Juan Li Tianbo Liu Yongjun Liu Mingli Yan Jin Hu Xiaoqi Li Xueduan Liu Yili Liang Hongwei Liu Huaqun Yin | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,1: | 6
High pulse energy fiber/solid-slab hybrid picosecond pulse system for material processing on polycrystalline diamonds显示文摘We demonstrate an all polarization-maintaining(PM) fiber mode-locked laser seeded, hybrid fiber/solid-slab picosecond pulse laser system which outputs 40 μJ, 10 ps pulses at the central wavelength of 1064 nm. The beam quality factors M2 in the unstable and stable directions are 1.35 and 1.31, respectively. 15 μJ picosecond pulses at the central wavelength of 355 nm are generated through third harmonic generation(THG) by using two Li B3 O5(LBO) crystals, in order to get better processing efficiency on polycrystalline diamonds. The high pulse energy and beam quality of these ultraviolet(UV) picosecond pulses are confirmed by latter experiments of material processing on polycrystalline diamonds. This scheme which combines the advantages of the all PM fiber mode-locked laser and the solid-slab amplifier enables compact, robust and chirped pulse amplification-free amplification with high power picosecond pulses. | Wei Chen Bowen Liu Youjian Song Lu Chai Qianjin Cui Qingjing Liu Chingyue Wang Minglie Hu | 2018 | High Power Laser Science and Engineering2018,6,2: | 5
Age-Related Reduction in Cortical Thickness in First-Episode Treatment-Na?ve Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘Substantial evidence supports the neurodevelopmental hypothesis of schizophrenia.Meanwhile, progressive neurodegenerative processes have also been reported, leading to the hypothesis that neurodegeneration is a characteristic component in the neuropathology of schizophrenia. However,a major challenge for the neurodegenerative hypothesis is that antipsychotic drugs used by patients have profound impact on brain structures. To clarify this potential confounding factor,we measured the cortical thickness across the whole brain using highresolution T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in 145 first-episode and treatment-naive patients with schizophrenia and 147 healthy controls. The results showed that,in the patient group, the frontal, temporal, parietal, and cingulate gyri displayed a significant age-related reduction of cortical thickness. In the control group,age-related cortical thickness reduction was mostly located in the frontal, temporal, and cingulate gyri, albeit to a lesser extent.Importantly, relative to healthy controls, patients exhibited a significantly smaller age-related cortical thickness in the anterior cingulate, inferior temporal, and insular gyri in the right hemisphere. These results provide evidence supporting the existence of neurodegenerative processes in schizophrenia and suggest that these processes already occur in the early stage of the illness. | Yin Lin Mingli Li Yi Zhou Wei Deng Xiaohong Ma Qiang Wang Wanjun Guo Yinfei Li Lijun Jiang Xun Hu Nanyin Zhang Tao Li | 2019 | Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4: | 5
Numerical analysis of mode locking in multi-core photonic crystal fiber显示文摘With linearly coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations, numerical analysis has been performed on the mode locking forming procedure of a fiber laser in the linear cavity configuration. The fiber is Yb-doped multi-core photonic crystal fiber and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror(SESAM) is adopted as the nonlinear transmission element to start mode locking.Because of the noise randomness, initial pulse would be picked out by SESAM in one or more cores which makes the multi-core mode locking quite different from single-core one.The two situations are compared and fully discussed.Mode locking in multi-core photonic crystal fiber laser can be realized only if the couple coefficient between the cores and the temporal overlap between the pulses in different cores are large enough. | FANG XiaoHui HU MingLie LI YanFeng CHAI Lu WANG QingYue | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18: | 4
Rett syndrome-causing mutations compromise MeCP2- mediated liquid—liquid phase separation of chromatin显示文摘Rett syndrome(RTT),a severe postnatal neurodevelopmental disorder,is caused by mutations in the X-linked gene encoding methyl-CpG-binding protein 2(MeCP2).MeCP2 is a chromatin organizer regulating gene expression.RTT-causing mutations have been shown to affect this function. However, the mechanism by which MeCP2 organizes chromatin is unclear. In this study,we found that MeCP2 can induce compaction and liquid-liquid phase separation of nudeosomal arrays in vitro, and DNA methylation further enhances formation of chromatin condensates by MeCP2.Interestingly,RTT-causing mutations compromise MeCP2-mediated chromatin phase separation, while benign variants have little effect on this process.Moreover,MeCP2 competes with linker histone H1 to form mutually exclusive chromatin condensates in vitro and distinct heterochromatin foci in vivo.RTT-causing mutations reduce or even abolish the ability of MeCP2 to compete with histone H1 and to form chromatin condensates.Together, our results identify a novel mechanism by which phase separation underlies MeCP2-mediated heterochromatin formation and reveal the potential link between this process and the pathology of RTT. | Liang Wang Mingli Hu Mei-Qing Zuo Jicheng Zhao Di Wu Li Huang Yongxin Wen Yunfan Li Ping Chen Xinhua Bao Meng-Qiu Dong Guohong Li Pilong Li | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,5: | 3
Unraveling specific role of carbon matrix over Pd/quasi-Ce-MOF facilitating toluene enhanced degradation显示文摘Metal organic frameworks(MOFs)derivatives represented by quasi-MOFs have excellent physical and chemical properties and can be applied for the catalytic combustion of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).In this work,Pd/quasi-Ce-BTC synthesized by simple one-step Npyrolysis was applied to the oxidation of toluene, showing excellent toluene catalytic activity(T_(90)=175℃,30000 mL/(g·h)).Microscopic analyses indicate the formation and interaction of a carbon matrix composite quasi-MOF structure interface. The results show that the amorphous carbon matrix formed during the partial pyrolysis of Ce-BTC significantly improves the adsorption and activation capacity of toluene in the reaction, and constructs a reductive system to maintain high concentrations of Ce^(3+)and Pd^(0),which can facilitate the activation and utilization of oxygen in reaction.Quasi in-situ XPS proves that carbon matrix is indirectly involved in the activation and storage of oxygen, and Pd^(0)is the crucial active site for the activation of oxygen.Stability and water resistance tests display good stability of Pd/quasi-Ce-BTC.This work provides a potential method for designing quasi-MOF catalysts towards VOCs effective abatement. | Chunjing Su Zhi Li Mengqi Mao Wenhua Ye Jinping Zhong Quanming Ren Hairong Cheng Haomin Huang Mingli Fu Junliang Wu Yun Hu Daiqi Ye Haihong Xu | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,11: | 2
Dual functional AgNPs-M13 phage composite serves as antibacterial film and sensing probe for monitoring the corrosion of chromium-containing dental alloys显示文摘The preparation of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)with microbe or plant tissues as bio-template offers green approach, while it suffers from low harvest and purification is needed.Herein,we propose a facile protocol for one-pot preparation of AgNPs using M13 phage as bio-template by simply mixing AgN03 solution with alkali M13 phage. In the obtained AgNPs-M13 phage composite,Cr(Ⅲ)selectively coordinates with the amino residues on phage surface and leads to the aggregation of AgNPs through the bridging of M13 phages. This makes it feasible for colorimetric sensing of Cr(Ⅲ)by measuring the absorbance ratio of AgNPs at 600 and 405 nm,which provides a LOD of 14 nmol/L.The composite also showed favorable bactericidal activity for both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, making it a promising candidate as antibacterial film in chromium-containing dental alloys and meanwhile serve as a sensing probe for monitoring the corrosion of the dental alloys. | Ting Yang Na Li Xiaoyan Wang Jian Zhai Bo Hu Mingli Chen Jianhua Wang | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,1: | 2

Nonlinearity optimization of dissipative-soliton fiber laser for generation of pulses with 350 kW peak power显示文摘We demonstrate a nonlinearity optimization method by altering distribution of passive fibers in a dissipative-soliton mode-locked fiber laser to level up output parameters. In the numerical simulation, we found that the passive fiber segment after gain fiber characterizes the highest average B-integral among fiber segments. By reducing the length of this fiber section and keeping the total passive fiber length as constant, the output pulse energy can be effectively scaled up while maintaining a short dechirped pulse duration, resulting in boosting peak power. With this method, 37-n J pulses are generated from a dissipative-soliton mode-locked cladding pumped ytterbium-doped single-mode fiber laser in the experiment. The pulse can be dechirped to 66 fs with 350 k W peak power. Moreover, the pulse pedestal is suppressed by a vector-dispersion compressor. | Han Chi Bowen Liu Youjian Song Minglie Hu Lu Chai Weidong Shen Xu Liu Chingyue Wang | 2018 | High Power Laser Science and Engineering2018,6,2: | 1
