1esveratrol inhibits necroptosis by mediating the TNF-α/RIP1/RIP3/MLKL pathway in myocardial hypoxia/reoxygenation injury显示文摘Resveratrol(RES)protects myocardial cells from hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R)-caused injury.However,the mechanism of this effect has not been clarified.Thus,in this study,we aimed to determine whether RES attenuates H/R-induced cell necroptosis by inhibiting the tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)/receptor-interacting protein kinase 1(RIP1)/RIP3/mixed-lineage kinase domain-like(MLKL)signaling pathway.Rat myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)models and H/R-injured cell models were constructed.Our study showed that myocardial H/R injury significantly increased the levels of TNF-α,RIP1,RIP3,and p-MLKL/MLKL by western blot analysis.Cell viability assay and 4,6-dianmidino-2-phenylindole(DAPI)-propidium iodide staining showed that the cell viability was decreased,and necroptosis was increased after myocardial H/R injury.The expressions of TNF-α,RIP1,RIP3,and p-MLKL/MLKL in H/R myocardial cells treated with different concentrations of RES were significantly downregulated.In addition,we also found that the cell viability was increased and necroptosis was decreased in dose-dependent manners when H/R-injured cells were treated with RES.In addition,the enhanced effect of TNF-αon necroptosis in myocardial H/R-injured cells was improved by RES,and the effect of RES was confirmed in vivo in I/R rats.This study also showed that RES suppresses necroptosis in H9c2 cells,which may occur through the inhibition of the TNF-α/RIP1/RIP3/MLKL signaling pathway.Our data suggest that necroptosis is a promising therapeutic target and may be a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of myocardial I/R injury.Yongjun Hu Hongwei Pan Jianqiang Peng Jin He Mingxiang Tang Sulan Yan Jingjing Rong Junshan Li Zhaofen Zheng Haijun Wang Yanfu Liu Xin Zhong 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,4:6
2Giant enhancement of magnetocaloric effect in metallic glass matrix composite显示文摘The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has made great success in very low temperature refrigeration, which is highly desirable for application to the extended higher tem-perature range. Here we report the giant enhancement of MCE in the metallic glass composite. The large magnetic refrigerant capacity (RC) up to 103 J·kg-1 is more than double the RC of the well-known crystalline magnetic refrigerant compound Gd5Si2Ge1.9Fe0.1 (357 J·kg-1) and MnFeP0.45As0.55 (390 J·kg-1)(containing either ex-orbitant-cost Ge or poisonous As). The full width at half maximum of the magnetic entropy change (ΔSm) peak almost spreads over the whole low-temperature range (from 303 to 30 K), which is five times wider than that of the Gd5Si2Ge1.9Fe0.1 and pure Gd. The maximum ΔSm approaches a nearly constant value in a wide tem-perature span over 100 K, and however, such a broad table-like region near room temperature has seldom been found in alloys and compounds. 3Materials Experiment on Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory显示文摘During the China's Tiangong-2(TG-2) flight mission, the experiments of 18 kinds of material samples were conducted in space by using a Multiple Materials Processing Furnace(MMPF) mounted in the orbital module of the TG-2 space laboratory. After the experiments of 12 kinds of samples of the first and second batches were completed successfully, astronauts packed and brought them back to the ground by ShenzhouII spacecraft. By studying processing and formation on semiconductor and optoelectronics materials, metal alloys and metastable materials, functional single-crystal, micro-and nano-composite materials encapsulated in sample ampoules both in space and on Earth, we expect to explore some physical and chemical processes and mechanism of the materials formation that are normally obscured and therefore are difficult to study quantitatively on the ground due to the gravity-induced convection, to obtain the processing and synthesis technology for preparing high quality materials, and lead to the improvement and development of materials processing techniques on Earth, and also develop the experiment device and comprehensive ability for materials experiment in microgravity environment. 4Glassy metallic plastics显示文摘This paper reports a class of bulk metallic glass including Ce-, LaCe-, CaLi-, Yb-, and Sr-based metallic glasses, which are regarded as glassy metallic plastics because they combine some unique properties of both plastics and metallic alloys. These glassy metallic plastics have very low glass transition temperature (Tg^25oC to 150oC) and low Young’s modulus (~20 GPa to 35 GPa). Similar to glassy plastics, these metallic plastics show excellent plastic-like deformability on macro-, micro- and even nano-scale in their supercooled liquid range and can be processed, such as elongated, compressed, bent, and imprinted at low temperatures, in hot water for instance. Under ambient conditions, they display such metallic properties as high thermal and electric conductivities and excellent mechanical properties and other unique properties. 7Domain structure of hard magnetic NdAlFeCo bulk metallic glass显示文摘Magnetic domain structure of hard magnetic Nd60Al10Fe20Co10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) has been studied by using magnetic force microscopy. In the magnetic force images it is shown that the exchange interaction type magnetic domains with a period of about 360 nm do exist in the BMG, which is believed to be associated with the appearance of hard-magnetic properties in this system. As the scale of the magnetic domain is much larger than the size of the short-range ordered atomic clusters existing in the BMG, it is believed that the large areas of magnetic contrast are actually a collection of a group of clusters aligned in parallel by strong exchange coupling interaction. After fully crystallization, the BMG exhibits paramagnetism. 10Two-dimensional Stiefel-Whitney insulators in liganded Xenes显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)Stiefel-Whitney insulator(SWI),which is characterized by the second Stiefel-Whitney class,is a class of topological phases with zero Berry curvature.As an intriguing topological state,it has been well studied in theory but seldom realized in realistic materials.Here we propose that a large class of liganded Xenes,i.e.,hydrogenated and halogenated 2D group-IV honeycomb lattices,are 2D SWIs.The nontrivial topology of liganded Xenes is identified by the bulk topological invariant and the existence of protected corner states.Moreover,the large and tunable bandgap(up to 3.5 eV)of liganded Xenes will facilitate the experimental characterization of the 2D SWI phase.Our findings not only provide abundant realistic material candidates that are experimentally feasible but also draw more fundamental research interest towards the topological physics associated with Stiefel-Whitney class in the absence of Berry curvature.Mingxiang Pan Dexin Li Jiahao Fan Huaqing Huang 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0

12Space Materials Science in China:I.Experiment Studies under Microgravity显示文摘The virtual absence of gravity-dependent phenomena in microgravity allows an in-depth understanding of fundamental events that are normally obscured and therefore are difficult to study quantitatively on Earth.Of particular interest is that the low-gravity environment aboard space provides a unique platform to synthesize alloys of semiconductors with homogeneous composition distributions,on both the macroscopic and microscopic scales,due to the much reduced buoyancy-driven convection.On the other hand,the easy realization of detached solidification in microgravity suppresses the formation of defects such as dislocations and twins,and thereby the crystallographic perfection is greatly increased.Moreover,the microgravity condition offers the possibilities to elucidate the liquid/solid interfacial structures,as well as clarify the microstructure evolution path of the metal alloys(or composites)during the solidification process.Motivated by these facts,growths of compound semiconductors and metal alloys were carried out under microgravity by using the drop tube,or on the scientific platforms of Tiangong-2 and SJ-10.The following illustrates the main results.ZHANG Xingwang YIN Zhigang YU Jianding YUAN Zhangfu ZHAO Jiuzhou LUO Xinghong PAN Mingxiang 2020空间科学学报2020,40,5:0

14Long-term light grazing does not change soil organic carbon stability and stock in biocrust layer in the hilly regions of drylands显示文摘Livestock grazing is the most extensive land use in global drylands and one of the most extensive stressors of biological soil crusts(biocrusts).Despite widespread concern about the importance of biocrusts for global carbon(C)cycling,little is known about whether and how long-term grazing alters soil organic carbon(SOC)stability and stock in the biocrust layer.To assess the responses of SOC stability and stock in the biocrust layer to grazing,from June to September 2020,we carried out a large scale field survey in the restored grasslands under long-term grazing with different grazing intensities(represented by the number of goat dung per square meter)and in the grasslands strictly excluded from grazing in four regions(Dingbian County,Shenmu City,Guyuan City and Ansai District)along precipitation gradient in the hilly Loess Plateau,China.In total,51 representative grassland sites were identified as the study sampling sites in this study,including 11 sites in Guyuan City,16 sites in Dingbian County,15 sites in Shenmu City and 9 sites in Ansai District.Combined with extensive laboratory analysis and statistical analysis,at each sampling site,we obtained data on biocrust attributes(cover,community structure,biomass and thickness),soil physical-chemical properties(soil porosity and soil carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N ratio)),and environmental factors(mean annual precipitation,mean annual temperature,altitude,plant cover,litter cover,soil particle-size distribution(the ratio of soil clay and silt content to sand content)),SOC stability index(SI)and SOC stock(SOCS)in the biocrust layer,to conduct this study.Our results revealed that grazing did not change total biocrust cover but markedly altered biocrust community structure by reducing plant cover,with a considerable increase in the relative cover of cyanobacteria(23.1%)while a decrease in the relative cover of mosses(42.2%).Soil porosity and soil C/N ratio in the biocrust layer under grazing decreased significantly by 4.1%–7.2%and 7.2%–13.3%,respectively,compared with those under grazing exclusion.The shifted biocrust community structure ultimately resulted in an average reduction of 15.5%in SOCS in the biocrust layer under grazing.However,compared with higher grazing(intensity of more than 10.00 goat dung/m2),light grazing(intensity of 0.00–10.00 goat dung/m2 or approximately 1.20–2.60 goat/(hm2•a))had no adverse effect on SOCS.SOC stability in the biocrust layer remained unchanged under long-term grazing due to the offset between the positive effect of the decreased soil porosity and the negative effect of the decreased soil C/N ratio on the SOC resistance to decomposition.Mean annual precipitation and soil particle-size distribution also regulated SOC stability indirectly by influencing soil porosity through plant cover and biocrust community structure.These findings suggest that proper grazing might not increase the CO_(2) release potential or adversely affect SOCS in the biocrust layer.This research provides some guidance for proper grazing management in the sustainable utilization of grassland resources and C sequestration in biocrusts in the hilly regions of drylands.MA Xinxin ZHAO Yunge YANG Kai MING Jiao QIAO Yu XU Mingxiang PAN Xinghui 2023Journal of Arid Land2023,15,8:0
15Correlation between boson peak and thermal expansion manifested by physical aging and high pressure显示文摘We investigate the effects of high pressure and physical aging on the boson peak and thermal expansion of a typical metallic glass. Specifically, the thermal expansion coefficient and boson peak intensity monotonically decrease during physical aging.With the increase of high pressure, the boson peak intensity and the thermal expansion coefficient coincidently experience an incipient decrease and then a subsequent increase. The boson peak intensity shows an approximately linear relationship with the thermal expansion coefficient. The thermal expansion can be affected by structural relaxation or rejuvenation, which can reflect the flow units variation and atomic packing of a metallic glass. 17Effect of Li and Ti Additions on Lα(Al)+Mg_2Si Pseudobinary Eutectic Reaction显示文摘Effect of Li and Ti additions on Lα(AI)+Mg2Si pseudobinary eutectic reaction in ternary Al-Mg-Si system has been investigated by thermoanalysis, directional solidification and metallographic techniques in this study. It has been found that Li addition causes decreasing of the volume fraction of Mg2Si, while a little amount of Ti causes to increasing, which is of a great importance to the adjustment of phase constitution and alloy properties. 18New approaches to relaxed stabilization conditions and H-infinity control designs for T-S fuzzy systems显示文摘This paper focuses on the problem of fuzzy control for a class of continuous-time T-S fuzzy systems. New methods of stabilization design and H-infinity control are derived based on a relaxed approach in which both fuzzy Lyapunov functions and staircase membership functions are used. Through the staircase membership functions approx- imating the continuous membership functions of the given fuzzy model, the membership functions can be brought into the design conditions of fuzzy systems, thereby significantly reducing the conservativeness in the recent fuzzy controller design methods. Unlike some previous fuzzy Lyapunov function approaches reported in the literatures, the proposed design techniques of stabilization and H-infinity control do not depend on the time-derivative of the membership functions that may be pointed out as the main source of conservatism when considering fuzzy Lyapunov functions analysis. Moreover, conditions for the solvability of the controller design given here are written in the form of linear matrix inequalities, but not bilinear matrix inequalities, which are easier to be solved by convex optimization techniques.
