1Science and Prediction of Heavy Rainfall over China:Research Progress since the Reform and Opening-Up of New China显示文摘This paper reviews the major progress on development of the science and prediction of heavy rainfall over China since the beginning of the reform and opening-up of new China(roughly between 1980 and 2019).The progress of research on the physical mechanisms of heavy rainfall over China is summarized from three perspectives:1)the relevant synoptic weather systems,2)heavy rainfall in major sub-regions of China,and 3)heavy rainfall induced by typhoons.The development and application of forecasting techniques for heavy rainfall are summarized in terms of numerical weather prediction techniques and objective forecasting methods.Greatly aided by the rapid progress in meteorological observing technology and substantial improvement in electronic computing,studies of heavy rainfall in China have advanced to investigating the evolution of heavy-rain-producing storms and observational analysis of the cloud microphysical features.A deeper and more systematic understanding of the synoptic systems of importance to the production of heavy rainfall has also been developed.Operational forecast of heavy rainfall in China has changed from subjective weather event forecasts to a combination of both subjective and objective quantitative precipitation forecasts,and is now advancing toward probabilistic quantitative precipitation forecasts with the provision of forecast uncertainty information.Yali LUO Jisong SUN Ying LI Rudi XIA Yu DU Shuai YANG Yuanchun ZHANG Jing CHEN Kan DAI Xueshun SHEN Haoming CHEN Feifan ZHOU Yimin LIU Shenming FU Mengwen WU Tiangui XIAO Yangruixue CHEN Huiqi LI Mingxin LI 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:10
2Industrial Poverty Alleviation Model in Southwestern High-altitude Mountainous Areas of China——A Case Study of Industrial Poverty Alleviation of Xueshan Township in Luquan County of Yunnan Province through Planting Codonopsis pilosula显示文摘Due to the severe restrictions of natural conditions and ecological environment,high-altitude mountainous areas usually become the ' hard bones' in the battle against poverty. Xueshan Township,Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County of Yunnan Province,located in the alpine valley of Jinsha River,is a major township with wide and deep poverty,and the incidence of poverty is up to 45. 00%. In recent years,Xueshan Township has insisted on the battle against poverty,made effort to develop the Codonopsis pilosula industry,and successfully developed a road to poverty alleviation through C. pilosula industry,and formed a unique industrial poverty alleviation model by the end of 2018,the incidence of poverty dropped to 0. 74%. 3Leaching Effect of Organic Acids on Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil显示文摘With the contamination of soil heavy metals becoming more and more serious,remediation has become a hot issue,and it is of great significance to study the remediation effects of heavy metal contaminated soil. The heavy metal contaminated soil was leached with water,acetic acid and citric acid,and the pH value of the soil after leaching was adjusted with 2% lime water. Finally,the pH value and conductivity of the soil leacheate were determined. The results showed that the best leacheate was citric acid for the remediation of soil contaminated with heavy metals Cu,Cd and Pb,and the optimum leaching concentration was 1. 0,0. 4,0. 7 mol/L,respectively. For the remediation of soil contaminated with Zn,the best leacheate was acetic acid,and the optimal leaching concentration was 1 mol/L. The leaching effect of lime water on heavy metal contaminated soil was positively correlated with the concentration of organic acid,that is,the leaching effect on heavy metals was better at stronger acidic condition. 4Study on kinetics of hydrocarbon generation from coals in the Qinshui Basin显示文摘A new method for the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbon generation potential from coals by means of the chemical reaction kinetics has been developed gradually over the recent years. In this paper, the kinetic parameters of hydrocarbon gas generation are determined by high tem-perature and pressure, and closed- system thermal simula-tion for Late Paleozoic coals in the Qinshui Basin and the kinetic characteristics and the histories of hydrocarbon gas generation were studied using the parameters obtained. Re-sults show that during the longer period from the Triassic (T) to the Middle Jurassic (J2), the coal-derived methane yield increased more slowly under lower palaeogeotemperature in the Qinshui Basin; however, the shorter period from Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, the coal-derived methane yield increased more rapidly under higher palaeogeotemperature. The correlation between the thermal simulation and the fac-tual data shows that C1/ (C1+C2―4) coefficients computed by the histories of methane and C2―C4 hydrocarbon generation can provide evidence for the identification of the genesis of coal bed gas in the different areas of the Qinshui Basin. The kinetic simulating experiment of hydrocarbon generation for the peat considered as the original matter of coal formation was performed for the first time and the simulated results were compared with the characteristics of hydrocarbon gen-eration from coals undergoing various palaeogeotemperature in the Qinshui Basin. The result indicates that the peat has a higher potential of hydrocarbon generation than that of coals. Therefore, the hydrocarbon generation results obtained from kinetic simulation for coal with higher maturation rank could not stand for their original hydrocarbon generation potential and thus would lead to an underestimation for coal-bed gas resource. The generative amount of coal-derived gas in the Qinshui Basin was predicted using kinetic simula-tion results for the peat and their maximum was estimated. The calculation shows that the generative amount of coal-derived gas from Taiyuan Formation and Shanxi For-mation coal-beds in the Qinshui Basin is the highest in Yangcheng area, higher in Qinyuan area and the lowest in Huoshan area. 5Green Synthesis of Magnetic Adsorbent Using Groundwater Treatment Sludge for Tetracycline Adsorption显示文摘Groundwater treatment sludge is an industrial waste that is massively produced from groundwater treatment plants.Conventional methods for treatment of this sludge,such as discharge into deep wells or the sea,or disposal at landfills,are not environmentally sustainable.Here,we demonstrate an alternative strategy to recycle the sludge by preparing a magnetic maghemite adsorbent via a one-step hydrothermal method with NaOH solution as the only solvent.With this method,the weakly magnetized sludge,which contained 33.2%iron(Fe)and other impurities(e.g.,silicon(Si),aluminum(Al),and manganese(Mn)),was converted to magnetic adsorbent(MA)with the dissolution of Si/Al oxides(e.g.,quartz and albite)into the liquid fraction.At a NaOH concentration of 2 mol L^-1,approximately 18.1%of the ferrihydrite in the Fe oxides of the sludge was converted into 11.2%maghemite and 6.9%hematite after the hydrothermal treatment.MA2(i.e.,MA produced by a 2 mol L^-1 NaOH concentration)exhibited a good magnetic response of 8.2 emu g^-1(1 emu=10^-3 A m^2),and a desirable surface site concentration of 0.75 mmol g^-1.The synthesized MA2 was used to adsorb the cationic pollutant tetracycline(TC).The adsorption kinetics of TC onto MA2 fitted well with a pseudo-second-order model,and the adsorption isotherms complied well with the Langmuir model.The maximum adsorption capacity of MA2 for TC was 362.3 mg g^-1,and the main mechanism for TC adsorption was cationic exchange.This study is the first to demonstrate the preparation of an MA from recycled sludge without a reductant and/or exogenous Fe source.The prepared adsorbent can be used as a low-cost adsorbent with high capacity for TC sorption in the treatment of TC-containing wastewater.Zhan Qu Yaqiong Wu Suiyi Zhu Yang Yu Mingxin Huo Leilei Zhang Jiakuan Yang Dejun Bian Yi Wang 2019Engineering2019,5,5:2
6Experimental Study on Oxy-Fuel Combustion and NO Emission in a Spouted-Fluidized Bed with under Bed Feeding显示文摘The spouted-fluidized bed is modified from the classical fluidized bed device,which combines the features of spouted and fluidized beds.In the present work,the performance of oxy-fuel spouted-fluidized bed combustion with under bed feeding and its effect on NO emission were systematically investigated.The results revealed that it was feasible to use a spouted-fluidized bed combustor for oxy-fuel combustion with real flue gas recycling.The transition from air combustion to oxy-fuel combustion was smooth and the concentration of CO_(2) in the flue gas could be as high as 90%steadily(dry base).Increasing the reaction temperature exhibited a negative effect on NO emission.Compared with that under the shallow bed,the concentration of NO in the flue gas was lower under the deep bed condition.Besides,the utilization of crush particles was favorable for suppressing NO emission because of the promoted mixing between coal particles and solid bed materials.Furthermore,the addition of limestone was proven to undesirably increase the NO emission during oxy-fuel spouted-fluidized bed combustion.XU Mingxin WU Yachang WU Haibo OUYANG Haodong ZHENG Shu LU Qiang 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4:2
7Seismic damage analysis of the outlet piers of arch dams using the finite element sub-model method显示文摘This study aims to analyze seismic damage of reinforced outlet piers of arch dams by the nonlinear finite element(FE) sub-model method. First, the dam–foundation system is modeled and analyzed, in which the effects of infinite foundation, contraction joints, and nonlinear concrete are taken into account. The detailed structures of the outlet pier are then simulated with a refined FE model in the sub-model analysis. In this way the damage mechanism of the plain(unreinforced) outlet pier is analyzed, and the effects of two reinforcement measures(i.e., post-tensioned anchor cables and reinforcing bar) on the dynamic damage to the outlet pier are investigated comprehensively. Results show that the plain pier is damaged severely by strong earthquakes while implementation of post-tensioned anchor cables strengthens the pier effectively. 12Appraisal of the vegetation-based services for cropland ecosystems: a case study of a high-yielding county in North China显示文摘As people become increasingly aware of the irreplaceability of ecosystem services, defined as “the natural environmental conditions and effects upon which people rely for existence that are formed and maintained by ecosystems and ecological processes”, more emphasis is being placed on these services. In recent years, numerous studies have focused primarily on the services of natural ecosystems. This paper expands the scope of this field from natural ecosystems to semi-natural ecosystems, i.e. cropland ecosystems, which are closely associated with human productivity and life. Taking Huantai County in Shandong Province as an example, the vegetation-based services of winter wheat/ summer maize rotation systems and cotton cropland ecosystems were systematically analyzed, including the material production, carbon dioxide fixation, oxygen release, water conservation, and nutrient recycling. These services were then evaluated in terms of economics through the applications of a market value technique, a substitution engineering method, and a shadow price method. The results indicated that the total economic value of cropland ecosystem vegetation-based services in Huantai County is 124,827.3 × 104 yuan, which is equivalent to 15.63% of the GDP of Huantai County (798, 491 × 104 yuan). Among these services, the gas regulation value is 82,698.3 × 104 yuan (66.25%), the material production value is 38,049.4 × 104 yuan (30.48%), the nutrient cycling value is 3257.3 × 104 yuan (2.61%), and the water conservation value is 822.3 × 104 yuan (0.66%). In addition, through the comparison between winter wheat/summer maize rotation systems and cotton cropland ecosystems, we conclude that the economic value of vegetation-based services provided by the former is much higher than that of the latter, which could provide a scientific guideline for adjusting the agricultural structure. 13Leading-edge technologies in hydropower development in China显示文摘After the implementation of the Reform and Opening-up Policy for a period of 40 years, the exploitation of Chin a's hydropower resources developed significa ntly. Through vast amounts of scie ntific and tech no logical research and construction practices, China has accumulated abundant engineering experience with respect to the construction technologies required for 300-meter-high concrete arch dams, 200-meter-high roller-compacted concrete gravity dams, 200-meter-high concrete face rockfill dams, 250?meter?high earth core rockfill dams, large-flow discharge and energy dissipation, huge underground cavern group constructions, complicated foundation treatments for high earth and rockfill dams and high and steep slope reinforceme nts. These series of tech no logies have now reached an inter national leadi ng level. 17Spread of double-walled carbon nanotube membrane显示文摘A single-layer double-walled carbon nanotube (DWNT) membrane, with 100 cm2 in area, 50 nm in thickness, was spread by adding a few drops of ethanol (or acetone) on the purified DWNTs. Compared with acetone, ethanol is more efficient in spreading DWNT films.
