3Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 4Classification of the Gut Microbiota of Patients in Intensive Care Units During Development of Sepsis and Septic Shock显示文摘The gut microbiota of intensive care unit(ICU)patients displays extreme dysbiosis associated with increased susceptibility to organ failure,sepsis,and septic shock.However,such dysbiosis is difficult to characterize owing to the high dimensional complexity of the gut microbiota.We tested whether the concept of enterotype can be applied to the gut microbiota of ICU patients to describe the dysbiosis.We collected 131 fecal samples from 64 ICU patients diagnosed with sepsis or septic shock and performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing to dissect their gut microbiota compositions.During the development of sepsis or septic shock and during various medical treatments,the ICU patients always exhibited two dysbiotic microbiota patterns,or ICU-enterotypes,which could not be explained by host properties such as age,sex,and body mass index,or external stressors such as infection site and antibiotic use.ICU-enterotype I(ICU E1)comprised predominantly Bacteroides and an unclassified genus of Enterobacteriaceae,while ICU-enterotype II(ICU E2)comprised predominantly Enterococcus.Among more critically ill patients with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II(APACHE II)scores>18,septic shock was more likely to occur with ICU E1(P=0.041).Additionally,ICU E1 was correlated with high serum lactate levels(P=0.007).Therefore,different patterns of dysbiosis were correlated with different clinical outcomes,suggesting that ICU-enterotypes should be diagnosed as independent clinical indices.Thus,the microbial-based human index classifier we propose is precise and effective for timely monitoring of ICU-enterotypes of individual patients.This work is a first step toward precision medicine for septic patients based on their gut microbiota profiles.Wanglin Liu Mingyue Cheng Jinman Li Peng Zhang Hang Fan Qinghe Hu Maozhen Han Longxiang Su Huaiwu He Yigang Tong Kang Ning Yun Long 2020Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,6:7
5Ultrafast all-optical terahertz modulation based on an inverse-designed metasurface显示文摘Metasurface plays a key role in various terahertz metadevices,while the designed terahertz metasurface still lacks flexibility and variety.On the other hand,inverse design has drawn plenty of attention due to its flexibility and robustness in the application of photonics.This provides an excellent opportunity for metasurface design as well as the development of multifunctional,high-performance terahertz devices.In this work,we demonstrate that,for the first time,a terahertz metasurface supported by the electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)effect can be constructed by inverse design,which combines the particle swarm optimization algorithm with the finite-difference time-domain method.Incorporating germanium(Ge)film with inverse-designed metasurface,an ultrafast EIT modulation on the picosecond scale has been experimentally verified.The experimental results suggest a feasibility to build the terahertz EIT effect in the metasurface through an optimization algorithm of inverse design.Furthermore,this method can be further utilized to design multifunctional and high-performance terahertz devices,which is hard to accomplish in a traditional metamaterial structure.In a word,our method not only provides a novel way to design an ultrafast all-optical terahertz modulator based on artificial metamaterials but also shows the potential applications of inverse design on the terahertz devices.WEIBAO HE MINGYU TONG ZHONGJIE XU YUZE HU XIANG’AI CHENG TIAN JIANG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,6:4

7Multi-modal anti-counterfeiting and encryption enabled through silicon-based materials featuring pH-responsive fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence显示文摘Nano Research volume 13,pages1614–1619(2020)Cite this article 236 Accesses Metrics details Abstract Optical silicon(Si)-based materials are highly attractive due to their widespread applications ranging from electronics to biomedicine.It is worth noting that while extensive efforts have been devoted to developing fluorescent Si-based structures,there currently exist no examples of Si-based materials featuring phosphorescence emission,severely limiting Si-based wide-ranging optical applications.To address this critical issue,we herein introduce a kind of Si-based material,in which metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are in-situ growing on the surface of Si nanoparticles(SiNPs)assisted by microwave irradiation.Of particular significance,the resultant materials,i.e.,MOFs-encapsulated SiNPs(MOFs@SiNPs)could exhibit pH-responsive fluorescence,whose maximum emission wavelength is red-shifted from 442 to 592 nm when the pH increases from 2 to 13.More importantly,distinct room-temperature phosphorescence(maximum emission wavelength:505 nm)could be observed in this system,with long lifetime of 215 ms.Taking advantages of above-mentioned unique optical properties,the MOFs@SiNPs are further employed as high-quality anti-counterfeiting inks for advanced encryption.In comparison to conventional fluorescence anti-counterfeiting techniques(static fluorescence outputs are generally used,thus being easily duplicated and leading to counterfeiting risk),pH-responsive fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence of the resultant MOFs@SiNPs-based ink could offer advanced multi-modal security,which is therefore capable of realizing higher-level information security against counterfeiting.Jinhua Wang Bin Song Jiali Tang Guyue Hu Jingyang Wang Mingyue Cui Yao He 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:3
82-D DOA Estimation Using Off-Grid Sparse Learning via Iterative Minimization with L-Parallel Coprime Array显示文摘An L-parallel coprime array is designed and an Off-grid sparse learning via iterative minimization(OGSLIM) algorithm is proposed in order to improve the performance of Two-dimensional direction-of-arrival(2-D DOA) estimation. The L-parallel coprime array consists of two parts, one is a parallel coprime array and the other one is a linear coprime array perpendicular to the parallel coprime array. The OGSLIM algorithm is based on sparse Bayesian framework and can learn the off-grid parameter. 9Water in coesite: Incorporation mechanism and operation condition,solubility and P-T dependence, and contribution to water transport and coesite preservation显示文摘A series of coesite,coexisting with or without a liquid phase,was synthesized in the nominal system SiO2-H2O at800-1450℃and 5 GPa.Micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to identity the crystalline phase,electron microprobe and LA-ICP-MS were employed to quantity some major and trace elements,and unpolarized FTIR spectroscopy was applied to probe the different types of hydrogen defects,explore water-incorporation mechanisms and quantify water contents.Trace amounts of A1 and B were detected in the coesite.Combining our results with the results in the literatures,we have found no positive correlation between the Al contents and the'Al'-based hydrogen concentrations,suggesting that previously proposed hydrogen-incorporation mechanism H^++Al^3+■Si^4+does not function in coesite.In contrast,we have confirmed the positive correlation between the B contents and the B-based hydrogen concentrations.The hydrogen-incorporation mechanism H^++B3^+■Si^4+readily takes place in coesite at different P-T conditions,and significantly increases the water content at both liquid-saturated and liquid-undersaturated conditions.For the SiO2-H2O system,we have found that type-Ⅰhydrogarnet substitution plays a dictating role in incorporating water into coesite at liquid-saturated condition,type-II hydrogarnet substitution contributes significantly at nearly dry condition,and both operate at conditions in between.The water solubility of coesite,as dictated by the type-Ⅰhydrogarnet substitution,positively correlates with both P and T,cH2O=-105(30)+5.2(32)×P+0.112(26)×T,with cH2O in wt ppm,P in GPa and T in℃.Due to its low water solubility and small fraction in subducted slabs,coesite may contribute insignificantly to the vertical water transport in subduction zones.Furthermore,the water solubility of any coesite in exhuming ultra-high pressure metamorphic rocks should be virtually zero as coesite becomes metastable.With an adequately fast waterdiffusion rate,this metastable coesite should be completely dry,which may have been the key factor to the partial preservation of most natural Coe.As a byproduct,a new IR experimental protocol for accurate water determination in optically anisotropic nominally anhydrous minerals has been found.Aided with the empirical method of Paterson(1982)it employs multiple unpolarized IR spectra,collected from randomly-orientated mineral grains,to approximate both total integrated absorbance and total integrated molar absorption coefficient.Its success relies on a high-level orientation randomness in the IR analyses.Wei Yan Yanyao Zhang Yunlu Ma Mingyue He Lifei Zhang Weidong Sun Christina Yan Wang Xi Liu 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,1:3
10Upward propagation of lightning-generated whistler waves into the radiation belts显示文摘Lightning-generated whistler(LGW) waves which induce energetic electron precipitation provide an important coupling between the ionosphere and radiation belts. Using the ray-tracing technique, we examine the propagation behaviour of LGW waves and show that they can travel upward into the radiation belts during higher geomagnetic activities due to the plasmapause inward compression, particularly in cases of lower wave frequencies, lower wave normal angles and azimuthal angles. Both perpendicular and parallel group velocities of LGW waves remain in relatively small values inside the plasmasphere but change rapidly to high values outside the plasmasphere. The launching latitude increases with increasing LGW wave normal angle. 11Data mining-based study on sub-mentally healthy state among residents in eight provinces and cities in China显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To apply data mining methods to research on the state of sub-mental health among residents in eight provinces and cities in China and to mine latent knowledge about many conditions through data mining and analysis of data on 3970 sub-mentally healthy individuals selected from 13385 relevant question naires.METHODS: The strategic tree algorithm was used to identify the main mani festations of the state of sub-mental health. The backpropogation artificial neural network was used to analyze the main mani festations of sub-healthy mental states of three different degrees. A sub-mental health evaluation model was then established to achieve predictive evaluationresults.RESULTS: Using classifications from the Scale of Chinese Sub-healthy State, the main manifestations of sub-mental health selected using the strate gictree were F1101(Do you lack peace of mind?),F1102(Are you easily nervous when something comes up?), and F1002(Do you often sigh?). The relative intensity of manifestations of sub-mental health was highest for F1101, followed by F1102,and then F1002. Through study of the neural network, better differentiation could be made between moderate and severe and between mild and severe states of sub-mental health. The differentiation between mild and moderate sub-mental health states was less apparent. Additionally, the sub-mental health state evaluation model, which could be used to predict states of sub-mental health of different individuals, was established using F1101, F1102, F1002, and the mental self-assessment totals core.CONCLUSION: The main manifestations of the state of sub-mental health can be discovered using data mining methods to research and analyze the latent laws and knowledge hidden in research evidence on the state of sub-mental health. The state of sub-mental health of different individuals can be rapidly predicted using the model established here.This can provide a basis for assessment and intervention for sub-mental health. 12Identification of the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearings in base-isolated buildings with limited seismic response data显示文摘Seismic behaviors of base-isolated structures are highly affected by the nonlinear characteristics of the isolated systems.Most of the currently available methods for the identification of nonlinear properties of isolator require either the measurements of all structural responses or the assumptions of the proper mathematic models for the rubber-bearings.In this paper,two algorithms are proposed to identify the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearings in base-isolated buildings using only partial measurements of structural dynamic responses.The first algorithm is applicable to the case that proper mathematical models are available for the base isolators.It is based on the extended Kalman filter for the parametric identification of nonlinear models of rubber-bearing isolators and buildings.For the general case where it is difficult to establish a proper mathematical model to describe the nonlinear behavior of a rubber-bearing isolator,another algorithm is proposed to identify the model-free nonlinear property of rubber-bearing isolated system.Nonlinear effect of rubber-bearing is treated as 'fictitious loading' on the linear building under severe earthquake.The algorithm is based on the sequential Kalman estimator for the structural responses and the least-squares estimation of the 'fictitious loading' to identify the nonlinear force of rubber-bearing isolator.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed two algorithms are capable of identifying the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearing isolated systems with good accuracy.LEI Ying HE MingYu 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,5:3

14Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 16Highly conductive and robust composite anion exchange membranes by incorporating quaternized MIL-101(Cr)显示文摘With well-defined channels and tunable functionality, metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) have inspired the design of a new class of ion-conductive compounds. In contrast to the extensive studies on protonconductive MOFs and related membranes attractive for fuel cells, rare reports focus on MOFs in preparation of anion exchange membranes. In this study, chloromethylated MIL-101(Cr) was prepared and incorporated into chloromethylated poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK) as a multifunctional filler to prepare imidazolium PEEK/imidazolium MIL-101(Cr)(Im PEEK/Im MIL-101(Cr)) anion exchange membrane after synchronous quaternization. The successful synthesis and chloromethylation of MIL-101(Cr) were verified by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy while the enhanced performance of composite membranes in hydroxide conductivity, mechanical strength and dimensional stability were evaluated by alternating-current impedance, electronic stretching machine and measurement of swelling ratio. Specifically, incorporating 5.0 wt% Im MIL-101(Cr)afforded a 71.4% increase in hydroxide conductivity at 20 °C, 100% RH. Besides, the composite membranes exhibited enhanced dimensional stability and mechanical strength due to the rigid framework of Im MIL-101(Cr). 17Plowing-Extrusion Processes and Performance of Functional Surface Structures of Copper Current Collectors for Lithium-Ion Batteries显示文摘Most copper current collectors for commercial lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are smooth copper foils,which cannot form a stable and effective combination with electrode slurry.They are likely to deform or fall off after long-term operation,resulting in a sharp decline in battery performance.What is worse is that this condition inevitably causes internal short circuits and thus brings about security risks.In this study,a process route of fabricating the functional surface structures on the surface of a copper collector for LIBs by twice-crisscross micro-plowing(TCMP)is proposed,which provides a new idea and an efficient method to solve the above problems from the perspective of manufacturing.The finite element simulation of TCMP combined with the cutting force test and morphological characterization is conducted to verify the forming mechanism of the surface structures on a copper sheet and its relationship with the processing parameters.The influence of several key processing parameters on the surface characteristics of the copper sheet is comprehensively explored.A series of functions is tested to obtain the optimal parameters for performance improvement of the current collector.Results show that the structured copper sheet with the cutting distance of 250μm,cutting depth of 80μm,and cutting crossing angle of 90°enables the best surface features of the current collector;the contact angle reaches 0°,the slurry retention rate is up to 89.2%,and the friction coefficient reaches 0.074.The battery using the as-prepared structured copper sheet as the current collector produces a specific capacity of 318.6 mAh/g after 50 cycles at a current density of 0.2 C,which is 132.7%higher than the one based on a smooth surface.The capacity reversibility of the sample with the new current collector is much better than that of the traditional samples,yielding a lower impedance.Chun Wang Wei Yuan Yu Chen Bote Zhao Yong Tang Shiwei Zhang Xinrui Ding Jun He Songmao Chen Baoyou Pan Mingyue Chen 2022Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2022,5,4:2
18Auxin signaling module OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF regulates grain yield traits in rice显示文摘Auxin is an important phytohormone in plants, and auxin signaling pathways in rice play key roles in regulating its growth, development, and productivity. To investigate how rice grain yield traits are regulated by auxin signaling pathways and to facilitate their application in rice improvement, we validated the functional relationships among regulatory genes such as OsIAA10, OsSK41, and OsARF21 that are involved in one of the auxin(OsIAA10) signaling pathways. We assessed the phenotypic effects of these genes on several grain yield traits across two environments using knockout and/or overexpression transgenic lines.Based on the results, we constructed a model that showed how grain yield traits were regulated by OsIAA10 and OsTIR1, OsAFB2, and OsSK41 and OsmiR393 in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module and by OsARF21 in the transcriptional regulation of downstream auxin response genes in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module. The population genomic analyses revealed rich genetic diversity and the presence of major functional alleles at most of these loci in rice populations. The strong differentiation of many major alleles between Xian/indica and Geng/japonica subspecies and/or among modern varieties and landraces suggested that they contributed to improved productivity during evolution and breeding. 20Parameter Optimization on Experimental Study to Reduce Ammonia Escape in CO_2 Absorption by Ammonia Scrubbing显示文摘In order to research ammonia escape in CO2 absorption by ammonia scrubbing,ammonia escape was studied in CO2 absorption process using the bubbling reactor in different conditions as gas flow rate,CO2 ratio,absorbent temperature and ammonia concentration and quantity of escaped ammonia was measured by chemical titration. The results indicated that,the amount of ammonia escape can be around 20% of original amount in90 min and the escaped amount will increase with the rise of gas flow rate, absorbent temperature,concentration of ammonia while decrease as CO2 ratio goes up.
