3STING signaling activation inhibits HBV replication and attenuates the severity of liver injury and HBV-induced fibrosis显示文摘The covalently closed circular DNA(cccDNA)of HBV plays a crucial role in viral persistence and is also a risk factor for developing HBV-induced diseases,including liver fibrosis.Stimulator of interferon genes(STING),a master regulator of DNA-mediated innate immune activation,is a potential therapeutic target for viral infection and virus-related diseases.In this study,agonist-induced STING signaling activation in macrophages was revealed to inhibit cccDNA-mediated transcription and HBV replication via epigenetic modification in hepatocytes.Notably,STING activation could efficiently attenuate the severity of liver injury and fibrosis in a chronic recombinant cccDNA(rcccDNA)mouse model,which is a proven suitable research platform for HBV-induced fibrosis.Mechanistically,STING-activated autophagic flux could suppress macrophage inflammasome activation,leading to the amelioration of liver injury and HBV-induced fibrosis.Overall,the activation of STING signaling could inhibit HBV replication through epigenetic suppression of cccDNA and alleviate HBV-induced liver fibrosis through the suppression of macrophage inflammasome activation by activating autophagic flux in a chronic HBV mouse model.This study suggests that targeting the STING signaling pathway may be an important therapeutic strategy to protect against persistent HBV replication and HBV-induced fibrosis.Yuqi Li Minjing He Ziyu Wang Zhiyun Duan Zhiwei Guo Ziteng Wang Ruijie Gong Tianhao Chu Jiabin Cai Bo Gao 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,1:7

5Study on ESS Control Strategy for Distribution Network with PV显示文摘Environmentally clean photovoltaic(PV)generation has found wider application,but the power f luctuation generated from PV can negatively impact the operation of power system.A properly designed energy storage system(ESS)can stabilize power system by absorbing and injecting instantaneous power.Suitable control strategy of ESS is studied in order to accommodate the power f luctuation.It adopts negative feedback which considers the relationship between real power and voltage in the distribution network because resistor is comparable to reactance of the lines in the distribution network.A universal model of ESS is established,the characteristic parameters such as time-delay of system response,limitation of charging and discharging and restraint of energy storage capacity are taken into account.The validity of the proposed model is verif ied by user-def ined modules in power system analysis software package(PSASP).The operation of PV generation at Wuhan Railway Station in both grid-connected mode and island mode at Wuhan Railway Station is analyzed in detail.The performances of the local distribution network with PV under different weather conditions are summarized,and the key parameter of ESS suitable for PV generation at Wuhan Railway Station is also recommended.Li Yan Jing Panpan Yang Minjing Zhang Buhan Mao Chengxiong 2014Electricity2014,25,4:5

11Defect-rich spinel ferrites with improved charge collection properties for efficient solar water splitting显示文摘Spinel zinc ferrite(ZnFe_(2)O_(4),ZFO)is a potential photoanode material for photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting because of its ideal bandgap(1.9–2.1 eV)and superior chemical stability in aqueous solutions.However,the low charge collection efficiency significantly hinders the improvement in PEC activity.Herein,we report an ultrafast and effective flame activation route to enhance the charge collection properties of ZFO.First,high-temperature flame(>1300℃)facilitated surface and grain boundary diffusions,increasing the grain size and connectivity of the ZFO nanoparticles.Second,the reducing atmosphere of the flame enabled the formation of surface defects(oxygen vacancy and Fe^(2+)),thereby increasing the charge carrier density and surface adsorption sites.Significantly,these two factors promoted charge transport and transfer kinetics,resulting in a 10-fold increase in the photocurrent density over the unactivated ZFO.Furthermore,we deposited a thin Al_(2)O_(3)overlayer to passivate the ZFO surface and then the NiFeOx oxygen evolution catalyst(OEC)to expedite hole injection into the electrolyte.This surface passivation and OEC deposition led to a remarkable photocurrent density of~1 mA/cm^(2)at 1.23 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode,which is the highest value among all reported ZFO photoanodes.Notably,the NiFeOx/Al_(2)O_(3)/F-ZFO photoanode achieved excellent photocurrent stability over 55 h(96%retention)and superior faradaic efficiency(FE>94%).Our flame activation method is also effective in improving the photocurrent densities of other spinel ferrites:CuFe_(2)O_(4)(93 times),MgFe_(2)O_(4)(16 times),and NiFe_(2)O_(4)(12 times).Runfa Tan Yoo Jae Jeong Qu Li Minje Kang In Sun Cho 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,3:0

13Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals the developmental program underlying proximal–distal patterning of the human lung at the embryonic stage显示文摘The lung is the primary respiratory organ in human, in which the proximal airway and the distal alveoli are responsible for air conduction and gas exchange, respectively. However, the regulation of proximal–distal patterning at the embryonic stage of human lung development is largely unknown. Here we investigated the early lung development of human embryos at weeks 4–8 post fertilization (Carnegie stages 12–21) using single-cell RNA sequencing, and obtained a transcriptomic atlas of 169,686 cells. We observed discernible gene expression patterns of proximal and distal epithelia at week 4, upon the initiation of lung organogenesis. Moreover, we identified novel transcriptional regulators of the patterning of proximal (e.g., THRB and EGR3) and distal (e.g., ETV1 and SOX6) epithelia. Further dissection revealed various stromal cell populations, including an early-embryonic BDNF+ population, providing a proximal–distal patterning niche with spatial specificity. In addition, we elucidated the cell fate bifurcation and maturation of airway and vascular smooth muscle progenitor cells at the early stage of lung development. Together, our study expands the scope of human lung developmental biology at early embryonic stages. 14Slippery quartz surfaces for anti‐fouling optical windows显示文摘The surface of camera‐based medical devices is easily smeared by blood and fog during the surgical procedure,causing visual field loss and bringing great distress to both doctors and patients.In this article,a slippery liquid‐infused porous surface(SLIPS)on a quartz window surface that can repel various liquids,especially blood droplets is reported.A femtosecond laser pulse train was used to create periodic microhole structures on the silica surface.The subsequent low surface energy treatment and lubricant infusion led to the successful preparation of a slippery surface.Such blood‐repellent windows exhibited high transparency,great antifogging,and antibacterial properties.In addition,the slippery ability of the as‐prepared surface exhibited outstanding stability since the surface could withstand harsh treatments/environments,such as repeated pipette scratches and immersion in different pH solutions.The as‐prepared millimeter‐sized quartz samples with SLIPS were attached to the endoscope lens as a protective coating and could maintain high visibility after repeated immersion in blood.We believe that the coating developed in this study will provide inspiration for the design of next‐generation endoscopes or other camera‐guided devices that will resist fouling,keep clear vision,and reduce operation time,thus offering great potential applications in lesion diagnosis and therapy.Minjing Li Tongzhen Yang Qing Yang Shaokun Wang Zheng Fang Yang Cheng Xun Hou Feng Chen 2023Droplet2023,2,1:0
