12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Earthquake-induced soft-sediment deformation structures in the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation,North China,and their geologic implications显示文摘Soft-sediment structures are key to defining seismites. Two soft-sediment deformation horizons, bounded by undeformed carbonate strata, have been found in the Wumishan Formation in the Jumahe region, 175 km southwest of Beijing. One is in the lowest part of Wumishan Formation; and the other is in the uppermost part of Litho-member I. The soft-sediment structures in these two horizons fall into three categories: mould-and-sag structures, hydraulic shatterings and liquefaction dikes. The mould-and-sag structures are divided into two types: one developed in tidal-flat sediments, accompa-nied by many liquefaction-related structures and characterized by autochthonous post-earthquake sediments in sags, and the other type developed in deep-water environments, is not associated with liquefaction structures, and is overlain immediately by seismogenic tsunamites. The hydraulic shat-terings are composed of pockets of fluidization conglomerate, sand intrusions, and syndepositional faults. The liquefaction dikes fall into two categories: hydraulic-fracturing dikes and lateral-spreading dikes. The former are steep, planar, and pinch out upwards. The latter are snake-like and characterized by no diapir-related drag structures in surrounding rocks. Examination of the attitudes and strati-graphic positions of these structures suggests that these soft-sediment structures are seismogenic, and consequently, are seismites. Most seismites in the Wumishan Formation are developed near the former western, margin fault of Yanliao rift. This occurrence suggests that they could be related to movements on this fault. 5Research on the conversion relationships between the river and groundwater in the Yellow River drainage area显示文摘Conversion relationships between the river and groundwater in the Yellow River drainage area are studied in this paper based on the geologic and physiognomy conditions and the data of the groundwater regime, isotope, groundwater flow field and field survey. 6Abscisic acid receptors maintain abscisic acid homeostasis by modulating UGT71C5 glycosylation activity显示文摘Uridine diphosphate-glucosyltransferases(UGTs)maintain abscisic acid(ABA)homeostasis in Arabidopsis thaliana by converting ABA to abscisic acid-glucose ester(ABA-GE).UGT71C5 plays an important role in the generation of ABA-GE.Abscisic acid receptors are crucial upstream components of the ABA signaling pathway,but how UGTs and ABA receptors function together to modulate ABA levels is unknown.Here,we demonstrated that the ABA receptors RCAR12/13 and UGT71 C5 maintain ABA homeostasis in Arabidopsis following rehydration under drought stress.Biochemical analyses show that UGT71C5 directly interacted with RCAR8/12/13 in yeast cells,and the interactions between UGT-71C5 and RCAR12/13 were enhanced by ABA treatment.Enzyme activity analysis showed that ABA-GE contents were significantly elevated in the presence of RCAR12 or RCAR13,suggesting that these ABA receptors enhance the activity of UGT71C5.Determination of the content of ABA and ABA-GE in Arabidopsis following rehydration under drought stress revealed that ABA-GE contents were significantly higher in Arabidopsis plants overexpressing RCAR12 and RCAR13 than in nontransformed plants and plants overexpressing RCAR11 following rehydration under drought stress.These observations suggest that RCAR12 and RCAR13 enhance the activity of UGT71C5 to glycosylate excess ABA into ABA-GE following rehydration under drought stress,representing a rapid mechanism for regulating plant growth and development.Yanlin Ma Jing Cao Qiaoqiao Chen Jiahan He Zhibin Liu Jianmei Wang Xufeng Li Yi Yang 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,3:3
7Strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome显示文摘Background:There is growing evidence indicating that the microbial communities that dwell on the human ocular surface are crucially important for ocular surface health and disease.Little is known about interspecies interactions,functional profiles,and strain heterogeneity across individuals in healthy ocular surface microbiomes.Methods:To comprehensively characterize the strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome,we performed shotgun metagenomics sequencing on ocular surface mucosal membrane swabs of 17 healthy volunteers.Results:The healthy ocular surface microbiome was classified into 12 phyla,70 genera,and 140 species.The number of species in each healthy ocular surface microbiome ranged from 6 to 47,indicating differences in microbial diversity among individuals.The species with high relative abundances and high positivity rates were Streptococcus pyogenes,Staphylococcus epidermidis,Propionibacterium acnes,Corynebacterium accolens,and Enhydrobacter aerosaccus.A correlation network analysis revealed a competitive interaction of Staphylococcus epidermidis with Streptococcus pyogenes in ocular surface microbial ecosystems.Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus pyogenes revealed phylogenetic diversity among different individuals.At the functional level,the pathways related to transcription were the most abundant.We also found that there were abundant lipid and amino acid metabolism pathways in the healthy ocular surface microbiome.Conclusion:This study explored the strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition,and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome.These findings have important significance for the future development of probiotic-based eye therapeutic drugs.Yutong Kang Shudan Lin Xueli Ma Yanlin Che Yiju Chen Tian Wan Die Zhang Jiao Shao Jie Xu Yi Xu Yongliang Lou Meiqin Zheng 2021Eye and Vision2021,8,1:3
8A new gain-of-function OsGS2/GRF4 allele generated by CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing increases rice grain size and yield显示文摘Grain size is one of the most important factors affecting rice grain quality and yield,and attracts great attention from molecular biologists and breeders.In this study,we engineered a CRISPR/Cas9 system targeting the miR396 recognition site of the rice GS2 gene,which encodes growth-regulating factor 4(OsGRF4)and regulates multiple agronomic traits including grain size,grain quality,nitrogen use efficiency,abiotic stress response,and seed shattering.In contrast to most previous genome editing efforts in which indel mutations were chosen to obtain null mutants,a mutant named GS2^(E) carrying an in-frame 6-bp deletion and 1-bp substitution within the miR396-targeted sequence was identified.GS2^(E) plants showed increased expression of GS2 in consistent with impaired repression by miR396.As expected,the gain-of-function GS2^(E) mutant exhibited multiple beneficial traits including increased grain size and yield and bigger grain length/width ratio.Thousand grain weight and grain yield per plant of GS2^(E) plants were increased by 23.5%and 10.4%,respectively.These improved traits were passed to hybrids in a semidominant way,suggesting that the new GS2^(E) allele has great potential in rice improvement.Taken together,we report new GS2 germplasm and describe a novel gene-editing strategy that can be widely employed to improve grain size and yield in rice.This trait-improvement strategy could be applied to other genes containing miRNA target sites,in particular the conserved miR396-GRF/GIF module that governs plant growth,development and environmental response.Wenshu Wang Weipeng Wang Yanlin Pan Chao Tan Hongjing Li Ya Chen Xingdan Liu Jing Wei Nian Xu Yu Han Han Gu Rongjian Ye Qi Ding Chonglie Ma 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,4:3

10Structures of the N- and C-terminal domains of MHV-A59 nucleocapsid protein corroborate a conserved RNA-protein binding mechanism in coronavirus显示文摘Coronaviruses are the causative agent of respiratory and enteric diseases in animals and humans.One example is SARS,which caused a worldwide health threat in 2003.In coronaviruses,the structural protein N(nucleocapsid protein)associates with the viral RNA to form the filamentous nucleocapsid and plays a crucial role in genome replication and transcription.The structure of Nterminal domain of MHV N protein also implicated its specific affinity with transcriptional regulatory sequence(TRS)RNA.Here we report the crystal structures of the two proteolytically resistant N-(NTD)and C-terminal(CTD)domains of the N protein from murine hepatitis virus(MHV).The structure of NTD in two different crystal forms was solved to 1.5Å.The higher resolution provides more detailed structural information than previous reports,showing that the NTD structure from MHV shares a similar overall and topology structure with that of SARS-CoV and IBV,but varies in its potential surface,which indicates a possible difference in RNA-binding module.The structure of CTD was solved to 2.0-Åresolution and revealed a tightly intertwined dimer.This is consistent with analytical ultracentrifugation experiments,suggesting a dimeric assembly of the N protein.The similarity between the structures of these two domains from SARS-CoV,IBV and MHV corroborates a conserved mechanism of nucleocapsid formation for coronaviruses.Yanlin Ma Xiaohang Tong Xiaoling Xu Xuemei Li Zhiyong Lou Zihe Rao 2010Protein & Cell2010,1,7:2

12Bioinspired molecules design for bilateral synergistic passivation in buried interfaces of planar perovskite solar cells显示文摘Trap-mediated energy loss in the buried interface with non-exposed feature constitutes one of the serious challenges for achieving high-performance perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Inspired by the adhesion mechanism of mussels,herein,three catechol derivatives with functional Lewis base groups,namely 3,4-Dihydroxyphenylalanine(DOPA),3,4-Dihydroxyphenethylamine(DA)and 3-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)propionic acid(DPPA),were strategically designed.These molecules as interfacial linkers are incorporated into the buried interface between perovskite and SnO_(2) surface,achieving bilateral synergetic passivation effect.The crosslinking can produce secondary bonding with the undercoordinated Pb^(2+) and Sn^(4+) defects.The PSCs treated with DOPA exhibited the best performance and operational stability.Upon the DOPA passivation,a stabilized power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 21.5%was demonstrated for the planar PSCs.After 55 days of room-temperature storage,the unencapsulated devices with the DOPA crosslinker could still maintain 85%of their initial performance in air under relative humidity of-15%.This work opens up a new strategy for passivating the buried interfaces of perovskite photovoltaics and also provides important insights into designing defect passivation agents for other perovskite optoelectronic devices,such as light-emitting diodes,photodetectors,and lasers.Bin Wang Junjie Ma Zehua Li Gangshu Chen Qiang Gu Shuyao Chen Yiqiang Zhang Yanlin Song Jingbo Chen Xiaodong Pi Xuegong Yu Deren Yang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1

18Structural regularized twin support vector machine based on within-class scatter and between-class scatter显示文摘Robust minimum class variance twin support vector machine(RMCV-TWSVM) presented previously gets better classification performance than the classical TWSVM. The RMCV-TWSVM introduces the class variance matrix of positive and negative samples into the construction of two hyperplanes. However, it does not consider the total structure information of all the samples, which can substantially reduce its classification accuracy. In this paper, a new algorithm named structural regularized TWSVM based on within-class scatter and between-class scatter(WSBS-STWSVM) is put forward. The WSBS-STWSVM can make full use of the total within-class distribution information and between-class structure information of all the samples. 19Selective targeted adsorption and inactivation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria by Cr-loaded mixed metal oxides显示文摘Herein we provide a novel high-efficiency nanocomposite for bacterial capture based on mixed metal oxides(MMOs)with deleterious chromium properties.With both the layer structure of layered double hydroxides(LDHs)and the magnetic properties of Fe,MMOs enrich the location of ionic forms on the surface,providing a good carrier for adsorption of the heavy metal Cr(VI).The capacity for adsorption of Cr(VI)by MMOs can be as high as 98.80 mg/g.The prepared Cr(VI)-MMOs achieved extremely expeditious location of gram-negative antibiotic-resistant E.coliNDM-1 by identifying lipid bilayers.Cr-MMOs with a Cr loading of 19.70 mg/g had the best bactericidal effect,and the concentration of E.coliNDM-1 was decreased from~10^(8) to~10^(3) CFU/mL after 30 min of reaction.The binding of nitrogen and phosphorus hydrophilic groups to chromate generated realistic models for density functional theory(DFT)calculations.The specific selectivity of MMOs toward bacterial cells was improved by taking Cr(VI)as a transferable medium,thereby enhancing the antibacterial activity of Cr-MMOs.Under the combined action of chemical and physical reactions,Cr(VI)-MMOs achieved high capacity for inactivation of bacteria.Moreover,the metallic elements ratio in Cr-MMOs remained stable in their initial valence states after inactivation.This guaranteed high removal efficiency for both heavy metals and bacteria,allowing recycling of the adsorbent in practical applications.Yanlin Li Bo Wang Lei Zhu Yixing Yuan Lujun Chen Jun Ma 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,6:0
20Application of next-generation sequencing in thalassemia screening:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the value of next-generation sequencing(NGS)in the prevention and management of thalassemia.Methods:A systematic search was performed in eight databases including China Biomedical Literature Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Scientific Journals Database,Wanfang database,PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library from the inception to 1 June 2022.Stata 17.0 and Review Manager 5.4 were used for the meta-analysis.Results:Nine studies containing 14794 participants were included in the meta-analysis.Compared with the routine genetic testing(including Gap-PCR and reverse dot blot),NGS had higher detection rates in screening thalassemia(RR 1.22,95%CI 1.13-1.31,P<0.01),particularly for theα-thalassaemia mutation carriers(RR 1.24,95%CI 1.07-1.44,P<0.01).However,no significant difference was found in the screening ofβ-thalassemia(RR 1.10,95%CI 0.99-1.23,P>0.05).Conclusions:Compared with routine genetic testing,NGS had a higher detection rate in general,particularly in the detection ofα-thalassemia.Xingyi Fang Yi Gong Yanlin Ma Yuanhua Huang 2023Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2023,16,2:0
